The Travelers Bikernet Weekly News for July 23, 2020

Alerts and News that Will Blow Your Mind! Hey, This coming week is going to be a strange one. I know the whole world is trying to grapple with this Covid mess, while I hide out in the Badlands surrounded by peace and nirvana, deer and pine trees. We are still two weeks from the rally, but tourist and bikers are everywhere. This morning five of our bikes are being delivered to the Bikernet Covid Hide-Out in the Badlands by Haul Bikes. I’ve got the shop set up and ready for minor repairs and already have a brazing project on the bench, maybe two. Every day is exciting when it involves motorcycles. My grandson is trying to coerce a couple of buddies to ride from LA to Sturgis to escape the madness and mayhem. It’s interesting. When we need fresh air, fresh outlooks, or new adventures, just mount up and ride. Let’s hit the news. The Bikernet Weekly News is sponsored in part by companies who also dig Freedom including: Cycle Source Magazine, the MRF, Las Vegas Bikefest, Iron Trader News, ChopperTown, BorntoRide.com and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. Most recently Quick Throttle Magazine came on board. CLICK HERE TO READ THE NEWS ON BIKERNET Join the Cantina – Subscribe Now https://www.bikernet.com/pages/custom/subscription.aspx

Great News Bikernet Weekly News for July 16, 2020

It’s all What We Make of It! Hey, Life is amazing. We’re in the middle of a Pandemic and J&P had their best single day sales record in the history of the company. And now J&P is owned by another company. Get this, boat sales have gone through the roof. It’s one way a family can play together and not run into nasty crowds. One manufacturer launched their new models way before the end of the year. Motorcycles have a similar blessing, that’s why Rich is having a banner year at American Biker in Charleston, SC, and Junior, at Lifestyle Cycles in SoCal is kicking ass in Orange County, California. It’s about embracing what’s available. A brother has an event magazine. No events, no business, but that’s not the case. He’s going to start covering underground events. He’s also going to interview big event promoters about their struggle and what they need. Hell, Scott Jacobs was making bank on Cruise line art auctions. That’s gone for now, but Scott, Sharon and their daughters opened a brewery restaurant and bakery in Deadwood and they are kicking ass. There doesn’t seem to be any Covid around here. It’s amazing. Cruise ships don’t need to set idle. Hell, one cruise ship could hold three separated conventions at the same time and stay in dock. Safety measures on one of those massive ships could be a breeze because of the compartments. Everything would be completely contained. But riding is the best. Feel free, in the wind and social distancing is not a problem at 90mph. The Happy 4th of July Bikernet Weekly News for July 2, 2020

These Are Still the Best of Times with News from Around the Globe Hey, I could go in a lot of bummer directions today, but that misses the major point. We are absolutely living in the best of times, yet I suppose some folks are bored, so they need attack shit. But I am moved by the brothers and sisters who recognize our flag, our monuments, our heritage and all the greatness flourishing in this country. I’m hiding out in Deadwood, South Dakota and it’s crowded with folks and bikers who have come to smell the Jack Pine trees, ride through amazing highways, inhale the history of the Badlands and check the action in Sturgis. We will get through this virus thing and party once more. In the meantime, the best things you can do to stay healthy and safe are to work out and ride motorcycles. Prize Possession to be reprinted

This is the first book I ever wrote. I started writing fiction in 1971 for Easyriders Magazine. I was maybe 23 years old and trying to learn from some amazing writers, like J.J. Solari, and a few guys who were in prison, but excellent writers. I wrote some poetry under the Renegade name. I wanted the bad ass on the staff to be the poem writer. I wrote Prize Possession shortly after my Evo in a rigid frame was stolen from the Easyriders offices in 1996. It took me three days to get it back, with the help of a few bros and Gregg Daniel. I sold out of this book in 1997, but recently we decided to reprint it. I’m in the process of reading it again, after 35 years. Where the hell has the time gone.—K. Randall Ball

Odd Bikernet Weekly News for April 16th, 2020

This Is Supposed to Be Our Kick-Off to Our Roaring ’20s Hey, It’s been an odd week. Remember, this is supposed to be the kick-off to our Roaring ‘20s and now we’re locked down. Plus, the Governor of California said recently about opening that everything will change in the future. No more major sporting events, etc. What about dances and parties, will we all wear masks? Tough to smoke a joint or take a shot of Jack with a mask on? WTF, over. Here’s another odd one. This Pandemic bows well for individual transportation, like cars and motorcycles. All those folks who want us out of our cars and stuffed into electric subways or busses are going to need to rethink their plans. Let’s hit the news and see what else floats to the surface. At the end I’ll report on all the shop projects and the kick-off to another Chance Hogan book. Home of 5-Ball Leathers, Denims, bedroll and Books https://shop.bikernet.com/ Terry the Tramp by K. Randall Ball The life and dangerous times of a 1% Club President, Terry the Tramp Get your Signed Copy By Keith Randall Ball – CLICK HERE There’s crime, drugs, sex, random violence, death aplenty. The core subject of this book is freedom. Some folks find their way to the bright white side of the tracks, but there’s a small percentage who run through the dark alleys of life. Even a smaller portion of those survive. Terry “the Tramp,” born in 1947 to a broken middle-class home in Alhambra, California, grew up with a violent chip on his shoulder. Terry became the international president of one of the most notorious one-percenter motorcycle clubs in southern California, the Vagos MC, and remained in office through upheaval, indictments, drugs, and gang wars for 26 years, until he was unceremoniously extricated. He is still a member after 42 years and never went to prison until 2010. World Run by K. Randall Ball This wild romantic adventure is the second Chance Hogan novel by K. Randall Ball. He never gets it right, with women, but he keeps trying. Hang on for World Run, the ride of a lifetime. CLICK HERE to check it out The story picks up shortly after the previous story ends. Even though this tale can stand on its own I would recommend reading Harbor Town. Seduction first as it sets up this book nicely. World Run finds our hero, Chance Hogan, down and out in the women department only to fall in lust and subsequently in love with a local Asian beauty. This love affair propels Chance into an adventure where he has to count on old friends and new to sort out the cause for events
