Hey, I ponder the theme for the news every week. Sometimes it’s a no-brainer, sometimes a celebration. I’m headed to an AMCA banquet tonight hopefully on the funky 5-Ball Panhead. My ’48 UL is still for sale. I put it on Hemming’s to check the vintage action. Last weekend, rode in a Poker run out of Deadwood Custom Cycles to support a company training dogs for disabled vets. Riding the hills around Sturgis is like a tour through biker heaven, amazing. Stay strong, free and involved. I’m going to put the ’58 Chevy on the market and the ’48 UL. Since I’m not spending bank on the run to Bonneville, I’m buying more parts for the 1913 Board Track racer. I found some flywheels on Ebay and rods. Competition Distributing is now making pistons for the early bikes. The funky Panhead survived its first 100-mile test run with only minor issues. I remember Wolfman Jack saying to the girls, “Are your peaches sweet?” It’s the season and the local peaches are amazing and as big as softballs. It’s never dull around here. Hey, It’s been an interesting week, with the debates, the political interviews and the cancellation of the BMST event in Bonneville. We were so ready to go to salt flats. Luke was excited to see the chute deploy properly. The bros came over after the Hall of Fame breakfast to check the action, including Nick Trask. Hey, The next couple of weeks will be damn interesting. First, my major focus will be all about Bonneville. With News from Around the World What an interesting day, week closing in on the Rally. I can’t wait. I’ve watched tents, displays, new signage sprout up all over the town of Sturgis. The 120th rocked Milwaukee a couple of weeks ago, and I’m trying to access whether the brothers are coming here and how the anniversary might impact the 83rd rally. Hey, Brothers and sisters all over the world are on the road. It’s that time of year and the Sturgis motorcycle rally is coming up fast. I’ve sorta decided to reduce the number of projects I have. It’s tough, but there’s only so much time in a day. Unfortunately, the ’48 UL may need to go. It’s a classic, but I’m trying to hang onto the bikes I was directly involved it or built. Make me an offer if you’re interested. It’s a classic. I’m building two bikes currently. One is a 1913 twin Harley board track racer, and I just scored some more parts. Billy Lane wants me to bring it to Tennessee and race it against his 1912 Twin. He knows the secrets to making them fast. Hey, Today suddenly turned significant. The Prism gang reminded me that today marks the first day of the Harley 120th Homecoming. In the meantime, I’m trying to get us registered for the BMST. I spoke to Drew Gatewood and then Delvene Manning. All is going to be sorted out. My VL, XA, FL Knucklehead project isn’t going to make it for the rally. Catherine Palmer reminded me of our 5-Ball trophies and shot glasses, which were hand blown in San Pedro.
