Merry Fiction: Hogging Santa

Hogging Santa We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Santa Claus finds joy and contentment in modern society with a Harley, Faith, Hope and Charity. All right! Something to do this weekend and it involves riding my hog to L.A., I could guarantee the tug-o-war victory ā€“ just wrap the rope around me ā€“ they would need a cavalry to drag me. I stuffed a backpack with essentials and went to my garage to dust off my 20 year-old H-D. Checking everything on the two-wheels I locked up the house and kicked the beast. Difficult even to lift my leg to kick-start with my belly bothering us ā€“ he has to push himself into everything. I ...

Why Are Bike Sales in Freefall?

Harley sales are in free-fall ā€” down 9.3 percent in the U.S. for the first fiscal quarter that ended this summer ā€” amounting to losses of $258.9 million. The company has announced it will lay off about 200 workers this fall. The rest of the industryā€™s not doing so well, either. You can still find plenty of leftover 2016 model year bikes at most dealerships ā€” and weā€™re eight weeks away from 2018. To say sales of new motorcycles have been slow is an understatement right up there with advising the captain of the Titanic that thereā€™s a ā€œlittle leakā€ down in the hold. But why? OH JOY, SUNDAY POST for December 17, 2017

Hey, I watched a documentary last night by the Labor Secretary for the Clinton admin, Robert Reich. Heā€™s been in the business of working for the government for 50 years. The film was about his recent book and economic problems with the United States. He spent an hour explaining the problems and five minutes on the solution. My question is: He had 50 years to fix it. What the fuck? But beyond all the bullshit there is a silver lining. We have the best of the best and itā€™s the holidays. This is the most magical time of the year. Enjoy it. We will fix everything else next yearā€¦ If you are a Bikernet member, click here to read the ...

Police Violate Fourth Amendment Rights In Routine Traffic Stop of Club Member

A December 2016 traffic stop in Austin, Texas, is getting lots of views on social media lately. In a video posted on the Motorcycle Profiling Projectā€™s Facebook page1 a motorcycle club member is detained after a police officer observed him neglecting to use a turn signal on his motorcycle. That traffic violation amounted to probable cause to pull the motorcycle rider over. Once detained, the traffic stop took on a whole new perspective. A traffic stop in essence is a seizure because the driver is not allowed to leave after committing a traffic violation. Once detained, certain Fourth Amendment rights apply to the rider regarding search and seizure. Almost at the top of the video the officer explains that the ...
