FOUND SUNDAY POST for October 1, 2017

Hey, I’m a strange one. I like to create at home, but every time I hit the road I run into amazing folks, opportunities, resources and finds. I need to go out more often. What about gambling? See you at last Vegas Bikefest. I’ve had some folks tell me they can’t advertise with us because of our girls, bad language and jokes. I find it humorous. We are bikers aren’t we? We do shiz bikers do like build wild shiz, do wild shiz and chase wild girls. What the **** are we supposed to do, polish our riding boots, wear a uniform, and go to cultural events and study art from the greats who sodomized little boys? Life is confusing. Let’s hit the Post and then go do something crazy or climb in a redhead’s bedroom window.

Further Adventures of the Borderland Biker -Chapter 25

After breaking free of the old building and jumping aboard our bikes everything went from the slow motion of running through water to the herky-jerky pace of an early 1920s hand cranked movie. Our race through the streets of Oakley had more twists and turns than I remember. Were the giant GPS sunglasses Hilts had attached to our handlebars really leading us out of town and away from danger? Click here to read what happens next.

19 Lids, 19 Artists from 13 States Mix it up

I like custom bike shows where builders enjoy interacting with enthusiasts. I get a kick when I see a guy get on his hands and knees evaluating a billet battery box. Over the last 7 years my team and I have handed out over $1 Million in cash and prizes. That’s why when you come to a J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Show, Championship of America show or a Kustom Kulture Artisan Show, you see great bikes. Builders and custom bike owners revel in the competition. Click here to read more.

Bikernet Book Review: Wild Bill Gelbke” By “Buzz” Walneck

Like hangin’ in a bar reminiscing with an old friend, telling tails and drinking Hamms. Or sitting around the dining room table going through scrapbooks. As the night goes on the Hamms goes down a little easier, stories get grander and tend to get repeated. This is how Buzz Walneck relates the story of Wild Bill Gelbke and his motorcycle Roadog. Kirsh Helmets Feature Fluid Displacement Liner

Kirsh Helmets attended the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) on September 21–24. The fifth-annual event presented by Nationwide took place in Columbus, Ohio for the first time. The Greater Columbus Convention Center hosted dealers, media, and consumers throughout the four-day event, and Kirsh Helmets showcased the new, made 100% in America, CHM-1 helmet with its patented Fluid Displacement Liner. “We expected to do well,” said Donald Devito, President and Chief Operating Officer of Kirsh Helmets. “But it definitely went better than we could have hoped, and we were gratified with such a great reaction from all types of attendees, from media to customers to retailers.” Starting with their lowest-profile, toughest, and most-effective DOT-certified half-shell motorcycle helmet on the market, Kirsh is gearing up to dominate its competition in the motor-vehicle crash helmet category. Kirsh Helmets, Inc., and parent company Impact Technologies LLC were formed in late January 2017 to take up the challenge of commercializing the innovative, patented technology invented by Jason Kirshon. Focusing first on solving the problem of unsafe—but popular—novelty half-shell motorcycle helmets, Kirsh’s product outperforms “competing” helmets by orders of magnitude in independent testing. The company’s helmets are DOT-certified and made from the highest-quality materials, coupled with the most-advanced impact technology available, and again, made entirely in the USA. For more information about Kirsh Helmets, visit kirshhelmets.com or follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram: @kirshhelmets.

Privateer Racer Scores Podium Position On A Stock Indian FTR750

Aboard the factory Scout FTR750, the Indian Wrecking Crew has garnered the attention throughout the 2017 American Flat Track season. But at the Lone Star Half-Mile, it was privateer racer Johnny Lewis and a new, off-the-showroom-floor Scout FTR750 that was turning heads. With his best race of the year, Lewis showcased the prowess of the stock Scout FTR750, as he passed Indian Wrecking Crew rider Bryan Smith on the final lap of the main event to finish with a strong third-place, podium position. It was his first time riding the premier race bike, which is available for purchase to privateer racers, collectors and race fans. “Not bad for a bike I jumped on for the first time today in practice,” Lewis said during his post-race interview. “It’s been a while since I’ve been on the podium. I can’t tell you how happy I am. It feels good.” After more than 60 years away from professional flat track racing, Indian Motorcycle Racing has racked up the stats, including 13 total wins, 36 podiums, six podium sweeps, the Manufacturer’s Championship, and Wrecking Crew rider Jared Mees secured his fourth career Grand National Championship earlier this season. “It’s been a long and rewarding season for all of us at Indian Motorcycle,” said Gary Gray, Vice President – Product for Indian Motorcycle. “We started the season at the Daytona TT and placed 1-2, secured the championship, and now have seen a stock FTR750 place on the podium in its first race. The success of our race team and the FTR750 is a nod to all the hard work and preparation from our entire team to make this season a success.”
