Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show 2018 – OHIO SHOW

The last few years Cleveland Ohio has greeted the hardy motorcycle enthusiast with snow, slush and sub-zero weather. This year the weather gods provided a 3-day reprieve and provided a balmy 50 degrees so motorcyclists attending the Progressive International Motorcycle Show stepped a little lighter and smiled a little brighter. The J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show produced a record number of custom sleds with 46 bikes and builders showcasing their creativity and innovation. Young guns were aligned and competed against the old guard and the young builders ran the table. Click here to read the rest of the article.

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY POST for February 4, 2018

Hey, It’s that day. Guys are setting up at the David Mann Chopper Fest. Some of the brothers rode to Ventura to party in the streets last night. Someone showed me a bag of magic mushrooms and I ran the opposite direction. Some of us are trying to get out to the tattoo exhibit at the Natural History Museum this week. I’m going to roll over to Zach and Susy’s for a Super Bowl party in Long Beach. Zack always has new projects to review either motorcycle or around his building. I started to apply clay to my charity sculpture and it didn’t go well. The clay shrinks as it dries, and separates from the metal. I need to investigate. Damn, this is going to be an exciting year. Let’s hit the news. Let’s hit the news. Click here to read the rest of the Bikernet Sunday Post. Click here to grab a subscription if you don’t have one.

THE PERPLEXING BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for February 1, 2018

Hey, This will be a week of reflection and panic over Harley’s Quarterly Report, the Kansas Plant shutdown and the State of the Union Speech. Two things at play here. One is the nature of our media now, since everything is in real-time and negativity seems to be the order of the day. So, most reports are doom and gloom. That’s not the case. The other notion is the fact that everything changes all the time. Companies are forced to navigate changing times, customers, and markets constantly. It’s not a big deal, but it’s the nature of the beast. Bikers are a different breed. We’re going to have fun whether we have money or not. We’re going to build cool shit, whether we have parts or not. And we’re going to ride free whether they like it or not.   Click here to read the rest of the Bikernet Weekly News.

Bikernet Event Coverage: SMOKE-OUT 18

Okay, just a little update on this story. Somehow we either did not send it, or it got lost in Bandit’s stack of to-do items??? As of now, it looks as though BIG changes are headed for Smoke-Out 19? Talk of new sponsors, new events and more action to come! The SmokeOut has always been a GREAT event, and I look forward to it being even bigger and better! So hang on for the updates! Royal Enfield – Pat Jensen Lowbrow Customs / Mikey Revolt   So it was that time of year again. Time for the SmokeOut to roll into Rockingham, NC. Brought to us by all of their great sponsors including LowBrow Customs and Bikernet.com. Lowbrow Customs / Mikey Revolt This year I rode my rigid frame, 4-speed kick start only, jockey shift Evo. From where I live it is about 80 miles one way. I had been hearing rumors that I was too old for that bike with only kick start. I was too old to take the bumps on the black top? Well I had to prove it to myself that I could still handle the rough spots and enjoy the ride. Of course, I still had it and I did! Click here to read the whole article on this awesome event.

Man-Made Climate Change-Settled

Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) is settled science, proclaim the predictors of weather doomsday. Settled Science? Science evolves continuously and can never be settled, unless, of course, the ‘settled’ subject is dogma, not science. Is it just a ‘my way or the highway’ attempt by vested interests to close discussion on their terms? Consider the term “peer reviewed”. Science evolves through the contribution of new ideas which are published so that their peers (other scientists) can review, validate, contribute, or argue with them. If we had accepted Niels Bohr’s version of the atom as settled science, there would have been no subatomic particles discovered and nuclear fission might not have ever been attempted, which would be perfectly okay with the modern day flat-earthers. In 1990, we find the United Nations’ formation of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) chartered to remedy carbon dioxide induced global warming without ever pausing to examine the plausibility of the theory. A key feature of this plan is a carbon tax to be levied on developed economies with proceeds going to less developed countries (read members of the UN general assembly). The goal is to provide incentives to restrict fossil fuel development and invest (read sink money) in wind farms and solar panels with much higher costs per energy unit produced. It also incentivizes participating governments to create grant funds for environmental lobby groups who make political contributions to the politicians responsible for creating those funds.   Click here to read the whole article.

THE UNIFIED SUNDAY POST for January 28, 2018

Hey, I’m confused today, how can we unify the country and make progress down the right path. Tough one. Does this whacky planet need conflict to fuel the fires and if we are not attacking Facism or Communism we attack each other. I’m talking in big circles. We were once just a bunch of bikers having a good time, building wild shit, riding, chasing broads and drinking whiskey. We need to be able to get back to that. Let’s hit the news. Click here to read the rest of the Bikernet Sunday Post. Click here to grab a subscription if you don’t have one.
