Sidney May, the 2015 winner of a $5,000 Buffalo Chip Challenge scholarship, stopped by The Chip last week to pick up her check. She can be seen in this photo with Rod handing her the $5,000 check. She is registered at Black Hills State University to start this fall on a degree in Business and Marketing. Sidney is still very excited to start her own hot rod shop. She is an intelligent and focused young woman and has a real passion for working on bikes and cars. Triumph’s new 2016 Bonneville family of motorcycles have received substantial critical acclaim from the motorcycle press since their public launch earlier this year and now the awards are rolling in. Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines motorcycle rider Andrew Hines overwhelmed the Pro Stock Motorcycle field with a record-setting performance at the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals. Hines rode his V-Rod drag bike to lead qualifying, re-set the track Elapsed Time record three times over the weekend, and on Sunday won an all-Harley dragster final against teammate Ed Krawiec. With the 45th victory of his career, Hines set a new record for wins in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class, surpassing the record of 44 set by the late champion Dave Schultz. “I grew up around this sport, but never dreamed that one day I’d set a record like this,” said Hines, who is a five-time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion on Harley-Davidson V-Rod ...

Hey, Interesting times in the motorcycle world. I wrote a book in the ‘90s about the future and banning motorcycles. It’s already happening. There’s a plot. We need to step up and fight for freedom.   Indian Motorcycle has just release a detailed schedule of event for the 76th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to run August 8 – 14 in Sturgis, South Dakota. Indian Motorcycle will offer demo rides on three newly released models to Sturgis attendees which include Indian Scout Sixty, Indian Chieftain Dark Horse and Indian Springfield with an early kick-off schedule starting on August 6th. Indian Motorcycle festivities kickoff on Saturday, August 6 at the Indian Motorcycle display on Lazelle St. where guests can enter for a chance to win a 2017 Indian Chieftain. Federal prosecutors are revving up efforts to seize the trademarks of motorcycle clubs in California and possibly the Midwest in a renewed effort to target the groups’ colorful “patches” that members wear on their jackets and vests. A First Amendment obstacle course still could lie ahead, experts warn, as officials go after organizations with names like the “Mongols” and the misspelled “Devils Diciples.” But in new legal filings, prosecutors are keeping alive tactics begun during the presidency of George W.
