Classic motorcycle show to rev into Ipswich

By | General Posts

by Andrew Papworth at https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk

The annual event, organised by the Copdock Classic Motorcycle Club, has been running for nearly 30 years, with a chance to see bikes old and new up close.

There are also dozens of displays for true petrolheads to see the capability of some of the world’s best bikes, with thousands of people set to enjoy this year’s extravaganza.

When and where does it take place?

The 28th Copdock Motorcycle Show, which this year is sponsored by CAM Rider specialist motorcycle training centre, is being held at the Trinity Park Showground, in Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, on Sunday, October 6.

For those travelling from further afield who are not familiar with the venue, it is signposted from the A14.

The gates open at 9am and the revs don’t die down until 6pm, when the gates close.

What is there to see?

There is a full range of entertainment at the 2019 event, with the Dave Coates Stunt Show, the Tigers Children’s Motorcycle Display Team and Ken Fox’s Wall of Death all providing the opportunity for many “oohs” and “ahhs”.

There are arena displays of pre-1965 bikes and an “all things custom” marquee.

There are also several owner’s club exhibitions in the Club Village, along with many motorcycle traders.

Is there a special guest to look forward to?

This year’s guest of honour is Allen Millyard, creator of several high performance bikes, who is bringing along some of his creations.

Other than bikes, what else is there to do?

The Copdock Motorcycle Show is billed as having “something for all the family”.

This year’s event has live music, real ale, food and entertainment – and is family-friendly for those looking to bring children along.

How many people are going?

The event is set to be popular – 1,400 people have said they are going on the club’s Facebook page, with another 4,500 saying they are interested in attending.

Organisers can certainly expect several thousand people to turn up on the day.

What does it cost?

Advance electronic tickets, priced at £8.50, are available from the Copdock Classic Motorcycle Club’s website at www.copdock-cmc.co.uk

Tickets on the day are £10 for adults, with children aged 14 and under getting in for free – provided they are accompanied by an adult.

Klock Werks Pre-Sturgis Press Release

By | General Posts

Hey gang,

In 2018 the World’s Only Corn Palace brought the Klock Werks Annual Pre-Sturgis Party to Main Street of Mitchell, SD.

Those in attendance witnessed Cole Freeman jump his 850 lb. Harley-Davidson Road Glide an unexpected 99’ 11”. That’s right, just one inch shy of 100 feet! There were over 1 million views of the video in just 24 hours!

We have teamed up once again with the Corn Palace to bring the fun back downtown. Join us on Thursday, August 1st from 5-10 pm for the Palace City Pre-Sturgis Party.

Cole Freeman is back again this year!! We’re not suggesting he will do anything as ridiculous as last year, but he definitely has something up his sleeve…

The music will be located to the east of the Scoreboard this year on the newly nicknamed Corn Palace Jam PadLotShelby Lee Lowe will bring his country style all the way from Nashville courtesy of our friends at Jack Daniel’s, and the night will be capped off with local favorite – and former Nashville singer – Dustin Evans.

The team at Klock Werks has teamed up with clothing sensation Dixxon Flannel and will be debuting the exclusive Klock Werks Flannel Colorway at the Pre-Sturgis Party! Known for their fit, comfort, and quality the Dixxon special editions have become collectibles. The creator of Dixxon Flannel, Danny himself and his beautiful wife Nicole will even be in town for the launch and word is there are people planning on being at the Pre-Sturgis Party from as far away as Boston to get theirs. It’s something you definitely won’t want to miss!

Once again we will welcome back the local car enthusiasts with free downtown parking as they show off their wares between 5th and 4th Street. Let’s fill all of Main and invite a friend who has a cool or unique car. The block on 5th Street west of Main will be reserved for the UTV Werks Show and Shine entries and of course bikes will have special parking as the feature of the evening.

  • Once again the Jack Daniel’s beverage garden will keep everyone refreshed. Catch up with friends, and make new ones, on 6th Street.
  • For those that rode into town, the therapists from Integrated Massage Solutions will be on hand.
  • There will be great food vendors filling the parking lot with great food for your tastebuds.
  • The Mayor will take the stage early in the evening and present the Keys to the City to a couple of fortunate people. There will be a proclamation and expect some industry celebrities to be in town for the party!!

New this year you’ll find Drag Specialties present to answer questions on parts new and old, expect some fun fromJ&L Harley-Davidson and full support from Law Tigers.

Weekly News and ROT Rally – join the Cantina

By | General Posts

What’s hip and what’s real?

We see it constantly around us. It’s one of the things I liked about being a biker. It was just me and my motorcycle. I wore what I wore for me and nobody else. Most of us looked like hell most of the time. Who cared?

Life is changing fast and in many respects I don’t like the business formula thrust on us by many companies. I try to keep Bandit’s Cantina and Bikernet simple and to the point, no games.

As I often say behind a bottle of whiskey. “Time will tell and shit will smell,” as told to me by a Richmond Hells Angel when I was a prospect.

Texas ROT Rally hits a homerun

This is a ’70s style event where alcohol meets full-frontal nudity. Over 200,000 made the annual pilgrimage to the Austin area to party like it was 1999 and with a good number of them entering the rally.

The ROT is a throwback rally where the Harley faithful connect at the Travis County Expo Center for music, stunt shows, vendors and custom bikes.

Sunday Bear from Old Bike Barn organized a ride to the next event, the Balcer Motorcycle Swap Meet.

Balcer Motorcycle Swap Meet & Drag Racing

Lowbrow Customs will be there with a big vendor spot selling all of our scratch and dent parts as well as crusty old stuff from our personal collections. Outlaws Motorcycle Club leader’s funeral set for Montgomery Co. fairgrounds

By | General Posts

‘Taco’ Bowman was president of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Harry Joseph “Taco” Bowman, the former president of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club who was on the FBI’s top ten most wanted fugitive’s list, will have his funeral on Saturday at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

Bowman’s funeral is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. A procession from the fairgrounds to Bear Creek Cemetery on North Union Road in Madison Twp. will begin at 12 p.m.

Sheriff’s Deputies will be shutting down North Union Road to Hoover Avenue in Trotwood for the funeral.

Additionally, deputies will also partially close down Infirmary Road from the Montgomery County fairgrounds to SR-35 for the procession.

Montgomery County Sheriff Rob Streck said officers are not expecting any safety issues but given the size of the crowd and the reputation of the group, they do have contingency plans in place.

“There’s always concerns when you have get large groups of people who have been known to be violent. They do not try to hide that fact,” Streck said. “(But) We don’t have any chatter of suspected violence, we don’t have any indications that other clubs are going to try and cause trouble at the event.”

Bowman, who was serviving a life sentence in federal prison, died on Sunday at the Federal Medical Center in North Carolina. He was 69 years old.

According to the Detroit News, Bowman was considered one of the most infamous motorcycle gang leaders in U.S. history. The Outlaws were rivals to the Hell’s Angels.

Bowman was placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted List in 1998, interrupting what had been a relatively low profile kept by Bowman while serving as leader of the Outlaws.

In 2001, he was convicted in a Federal court in Florida of the murders of several rival gang members, firebombings, racketeering and conspiracy among other charges. He was sentenced to two life sentences plus 83 years.

Bowman had a long-running feud with Hell’s Angels leader Sonny Barger over which gang was superior.

Several members of the Outlaws were previously interned at Bear Creek Cemetery.
