Electric dream: Horwin CR6 reviewed

Sales of electric two-wheelers are booming and with manufacturers producing bikes like this one, it’s easy to see why.
It seems difficult to keep up with the number of new electric two-wheelers coming on to the market these days.
The trend was already under way and has only been accelerated by the pandemic, with commuters and others looking for alternatives to public transport.
Figures from the Motorcycle Industry Association show sales of electrics for June up 155% compared to the same month last year.
Sales for the year up until last month are also up 210% compared to the same period in 2020.
That is impressive growth, with the majority of bikes sold falling in the 50cc and 125cc equivalent categories.
Artisan Electric is a British company established in 2016 with a “mission to change the face of electric motorcycles and scooters with industry-leading innovation and product quality”.
The company offers a range of seven electric bikes and scooters – and the one I am testing here is the CR6.
This is a 125cc-equivalent machine, with a pretty cool retro-meets-futuristic look.
The air-cooled electric motor is powered by a 3.96kWh Panasonic lithium-ion battery.
Careful riding will produce a range of around 60 miles.
Haring around flat out – top speed is about 55mph – will cut your range to around 30 miles.
That may not sound much, but the CR6 is aimed at commuters and for jaunts into town, so it’s perfectly adequate.
A full charge from zero takes around four hours, but bear in mind you’ll hardly ever be charging from completely flat, so shorter times are more realistic.
Charging is via a standard three-pin socket and a socket in the side of the bike.
The battery comes with a reassuring three-year warranty.
On board, the ride position is relaxed and comfortable with a long and well-padded cafe-racer type seat.
There’s a round retro/modern, backlit, colour clock with a rather unnecessary rev counter across the top and a LCD panel with speed, charge level etc.
As with all electrics, the acceleration is instantaneous and impressive.
At just 134kg, this bike is light and it feels agile, manageable and nippy – perfect for the urban jungle.
With low-down weight, a decent aluminium chassis and an excellent turning circle, the CR6 handles extremely well.
The non-adjustable USD forks and preload-adjustable rear monoshock do a perfectly reasonable job.
And braking via a front 265mm disc and three-piston caliper and rear 220mm is plenty powerful enough.
The headlight is a nice bright LED and the “tank” is actually a lockable storage compartment, ideal for the charge cable, gloves etc.
It also contains a USB port – handy for charging your phone.
At five grand, the CR6 is obviously a bigger initial outlay than a petrol 125, but running costs work out at just a penny a mile.
Overall then, the Horwin is a solid little city commuter, easy to ride, with good looks and decent performance.

Steve McQueen’s first Husqvarna motorcycle may sell for a small fortune

Motorcycle enthusiast Steve McQueen owned dozens of bikes over the years, but a few are more special than others. This 1968 Husqvarna Viking 360 was the first of the brand’s bikes owned by Steve McQueen. (RM Sotheby’s).
McQueen had a particular penchant for Husqvarna motorcycles, like the one he rode in the “On Any Sunday” documentary, and one is coming up for auction at the RM Sotheby’s Monterey, Calif., event on August 13.
It’s not just any Husqvarna, but the first one he ever owned.
His Solar Productions movie company purchased the 1968 Viking 360 from Swedish motocross rider Bengt Åberg just after he competed in a race on it in California.
The single-cylinder two-stroke was fully restored in 2014 and remains in mint condition, so its next owner will have to decide if they want to chance messing it up to find out what it’s like to ride in McQueen’s riding boots.
RM Sotheby’s estimates the Husky could sell for up to $100,000, which is a far cry from the millions that many of McQueen’s cars have sold for, but quite a lot for a dirt bike.
BMW Debuts R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B ‘Bagger’ touring motorcycles

According to BMW, the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B will be available worldwide as special R 18 Transcontinental First Edition and R 18 B First Edition models when they hit the market in September. The two new R 18 family members will be unveiled to the public for the first time on August 6th in Sturgis, South Dakota.
BMW is expanding the R 18 family with the new R 18 Transcontinental and the R 18 B “Bagger,” one ideal for long-distance rides and one perfect for touring and cruising. You can watch some high-octane scenes with the new models in The Cadillac Three’s new music video, “Get After It.”
The collaboration between the American Southern rock group and BMW only came naturally as the new models are built to appeal to those looking for a sportier ride and those going for a more touring-oriented machine. The southern country music is a perfect addition for these bad boys that star in the clip, riding just outside Nashville.
The new R 18 Transcontinental is a luxurious tourer that comes with a high windshield, wind deflector, and flaps. Compared to the standard R 18, it has additional lights, a top case, and four analog round instruments. The ride has seat heating as standard to ensure long-distance riding comfort even when two people get on it.
On the other hand, the R 18 B has no top case and a lower windscreen that adds to the style of a bagger. Among other features, it sports a smaller seat, wider and more comfortable footrests, and a matt black metallic engine.
Like the previous R 18 models, both rides combine the power of the 2-cylinder “Big Boxer” engine with a classic chassis design based on BMW’s historical motorcycle models. The engine generates an output of 67 kW (91 hp) at 4,750 RPM, and between the 2,000 to 4,000 RPM range, it produces more than 150 Nm of torque.
Tech-wise, they feature a 10.25 inch TFT color display that provides all the information the rider needs. The motorcycles come with three riding modes, Rain, Roll, and Rock, and a Hill Start Control function that turn one’s journeys into a memorable experience.
What can make that experience even better is the new Marshall sound system. Developed in collaboration with the British manufacturer Marshall (yes, the same brand that makes the renowned guitar amplifiers), the audio system uses 4 loudspeakers and 2 subwoofers to produce great sound quality and “good vibrations.”

Cameraman collides with Batman’s motorcycle, filming halted

‘The Flash’ movie Production Halted Following Accident on Set.
The long, arduous journey to get The Flash into development and finally begin production has unfortunately met another setback, this time interrupting the actual filming of the movie. Reports out of the UK indicate that an accident has occurred on the set of The Flash while shooting on location in Glasgow, causing the apparent hospitalization of a member of the camera crew.
Glasgow Live is reporting that a camera operator was involved in a collision with a stunt man in full Batman garb who was riding atop the Batcycle in the Andy Muschietti-directed production. Eyewitnesses claim that the cameraman, on a motorcycle of his own, accidentally collided with the Batcycle from the rear while racing down one of the city streets in an attempt to capture the action up close. There has been no official word from Warner Bros. just yet, but filming immediately paused while the crew member had to be extricated from underneath the vehicle and subsequently received medical attention. All indications are that the injured party was then treated at a local hospital, while an ambulance was seen leaving the site. However, no other details or updates are known at this time.
We recently reported on pictures taken from the UK set that showed off the newly-redesigned Batcycle that will appear in the multiverse-spanning crossover film, with the stuntman’s Batman outfit pointing towards an appearance by Ben Affleck‘s costumed crime-fighter. Michael Keaton is also set to make his grand return to the DC universe, having seemingly hung up the cowl for good in Batman Returns nearly 30 years ago.
Somewhere in the middle of all this action, presumably, will be Ezra Miller‘s Barry Allen. The Flashpoint-inspired film will recount the complications that spring up as a result of some serious timeline shenanigans on Barry’s part. In the famous comic series, the Flash travels back in time to prevent the death of his mother, but these actions only create another splintered universe and alternate timeline.
As of yet, it is unknown just how much of a setback this will cause production. Obviously, the health and safety of the injured crewmember are of paramount importance and we can only hope for his full recovery. Blockbuster film sets are notoriously dangerous places to work, which is why the director and producers work overtime with all involved parties on multiple levels of production to ensure a safe working environment. We’ll provide more updates as they come in.
Richard Schultz collection of Vintage Motorcycles on display

The Betty Strong Encounter Center will rev up its engines as collector Richard Schultz brings his “Marvelous Motorcycles” to the center’s atrium Aug. 3-29.
Among the vintage motorcycles will be a 1938 Indian 4-Cylinder and a 1941 Harley Davidson Military Prototype.
A longtime rider from Le Mars, Iowa, Schultz began restoring vintage antique motorcycles and cars beginning in the late 1960s.
Schultz has been active in the Antique Motorcycle Club of America for more than 48 years and was its former national director. In addition, he has published two books for enthusiasts, including one about Henderson Motorcycles, that featured a forward by Jay Leno.

Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Races its Superbike Counterpart

Honda has pitted the new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP against its racing version on a track to prove how fast it can be in the right hands. With slick tires, the sport bike is as close to a street-legal MotoGP racer as possible.
The resemblance between the two is normal, as British Superbike rules mandate that the race bike must be developed from the homologated production motorcycle. Therefore, the chassis and the engine are identical, but the race bike has a few tweaks within regulations to allow it to be even faster.
According to the rulebook, the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP’s racing version must have a spec ECU, which allows it to rev even higher than its street-legal brother. The gearing can also be changed according to various necessities, depending on the track and rider preference, along with a minimum weight of 168 kg (370.37 lbs.).
To prove just how fast the street-legal version of this bike can be, Honda Racing UK British Super Bike racer Glen Irwin took both bikes on the same day at Oulton Park International Circuit. We are talking about a 2.69-mile (4.33 km) track in the UK and identical riding conditions. Honda even fitted both bikes with the Pirelli Diablo Racing slicks (SC0 compound) to allow a direct comparison between the two bikes.
The street bike was still fitted with the stock mirrors, standard toolkit, and everything else one gets when buying a new Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. The slick tires were the only change from the stock condition, and the team did not alter any settings on the bike.
Glenn Irwin rode each bike for six laps, and he managed to set a time of 1’39.054 on the production CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, which is just 2.872 seconds more than what he did with his British Superbike Fireblade.
Trap speed was 210.5 km/h (130 mph) on the street-spec bike, which is just 6.8 km/h (4.2 mph) slower than the race model, which goes to show how far have sport bikes gone in past years. The only thing left is for their riders to improve their skills on the track before thinking about changing anything on a stock super sport motorcycle.

My son, Frank Ball, just flew out after a couple of days scrambling to get shit done around here. He helped a lot and then flew back at the crack of dawn to plant this tattoo on a girl’s leg. Amazing!
Frank and I rode around town. He rode the 5-Ball 2014 Indian and I rode my 1969 Panhead.
I devised a seat suspension system using a Harley buddy seat. I was concerned about the strength of the springs until I saw that Excelsior Hendersons used this system as their primary seat suspension. The Pan handled like a new Honda touring bike. I couldn’t get over it.
Before I changed the seat and the old glide to a new round Paughco springer, this puppy handled like crap on torn-up LA Harbor roads. Suddenly, I’m riding down brick roads from the turn of the century and this puppy glides with a rigid frame!

Proposed Transportation Bill Amendment Fails–Late Monday night, three Congressional champions for motorcyclists’ rights asked Congress to add language to a massive spending bill that would help protect motorcyclists from profiling by law enforcement.
The amendment to a Department of Transportation funding bill would have prohibited federal funds being used to “Encourage States to adopt legislation, regulations, policies, directives or guidance to profile motorcycle riders, nor shall such funds be used by States to implement any activity with the primary intent of profiling motorcycle riders.”
The amendment failed, as the House Parliamentarian ruled it “not in order,” citing a prohibition on policies proposals like this being attached to funding bills. Of the nearly 700 amendments submitted, almost 400 other amendments were handed the same fate. Frustratingly, the Rules Committee members were not even allowed to vote on these provisions.
The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) is disappointed that a commonsense concept like the one offered today was blocked by an unelected bureaucrat. Nevertheless, we will remain vigilant in our fight against the profiling of bikers. We thank Representative Tim Walberg (Michigan), Representative Michael Burgess (Texas) and Representative Troy Balderson (Ohio) for drafting the amendment and seeking ways to combat the profiling of bikers in the country.
Additionally, the MRF would like to thank the other members of the House Rules Committee who expressed support for the amendment including Rep. Cole (Oklahoma), Rep. Reschenthaler (Pennsylvania) and Rep. Fischbach (Minnesota).
All bikers should thank their fellow riders from Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas who lobbied members of the committee to pass this amendment. Rest assured that the MRF will continue to fight in the halls of Congress until lawmakers act on this important issue.

“When I worked in Malibu, a lot of celebs came in. Larry Hagman used to come in wearing a bathrobe, slippers, and a cowboy hat. What a putz.
So, this one day I was in the express line and there were maybe eight people in line, and one guy towards the back of the line was smoking. I told him that there was no smoking in the store, and he ignored me, so I yelled it out.
He got pissed and threw his smoking cigarette on the floor. Then when it’s his turn, all he buys is a 12-pack of beer. I ID’d him. He got pissed again, but got out his driver’s license. It was Sean Penn. HAHAHA, I didn’t even know it was him, but I’ve always hated him, and I was so pleased with myself for having the opportunity to harass him.”

BROTHER STEPS UP FOR VETS–My name is Julian Rastrelli and I have been helping veterans with their disability ratings for a few years now. I have never offered this service professionally until now. My focus is on the veterans who have PTSD.
These are the veterans who have the need for help urgently, and I will strive to give them everything I can. That means I will not stop working on the veteran’s file until they receive the desired resolution.
I am new to this in a professional manner, so please bear with me. I have helped 78 veterans increase their service-connected VA disability ratings. My end game is to get a little political and have the policy change for the PTSD outreach and make sure the veterans who have PTSD get the help they need ASAP.
So far as recognition I have been honored at the Ducks Stadium here on long island `during a ceremony that is called “Heroes Of Thee Game.” It is a start to the awareness that I want to bring about of PTSD.
Also, I will be on a radio talk show on 103.9 for a 30 minute segment to do the same. Please understand that I am not doing this for any self-promotion. I am doing this for grant money that is ours as veterans to go to the veterans who need relief and who earned it as soon as possible.
I know that it is going to be a long and bumpy road, but I am prepared to do this. We need a change in policy and no one, I mean no one is doing this. There is a lot of talk but no action.
I am tired of it and I, along with my best friend and VP, plus our families are ready to do whatever it takes to get the changes made.

Workhorse Speed Shop to Reveal Two Very Special Indian FTR Builds
Build Q&A with Brice Hennebert
Brice Hennebert, owner of Workhorse Speed Shop, has not wasted his time during lockdown. After creating Appaloosa V1.0 in 2019 for the Sultans of Sprint then re-working the Indian Scout build into Appaloosa V2.0 for the Baikal Mile Ice Festival, Brice has focused his attention on building two special dream bikes from the Indian FTR.
We caught up with Brice to get an insight into his latest projects, both of which are shaping up to be remarkably interesting, but quite different builds – just as we have come to expect from Workhorse.
It’s been a long time since you came back from Russia after taking Appaloosa V2.0 to the Baikal Mile Ice Speed Festival – that must feel like a dream now, are the memories still strong?
Yes, the memories are strong. With the lockdown, it was some time after coming back from Russia that I saw many of my friends. Every time I reconnect with a friend they always ask about the trip. So, I get to relive the memories regularly and so they are still strongly alive.
And when Appaloosa finally got back to Belgium after the Russian borders reopened, unpacking the bike, and reassembling it meant I got to relive the memories all over again.
Obviously, lockdown has changed the way we all work, but you have still been busy with brand-new builds based on the FTR. What are the concepts behind each project?
The concept for the first build, Black Swan, came a few years ago when I was racing at Wheels & Waves against the Miracle Mike Scout built by The Young Guns. During that time, I had the vision to build a sports bike for road use. But, really sporty, built like a GP bike. It’s deeply inspired by 90’s sports bikes, all made from carbon fibre. That’s what happens when I have total freedom from the commissioners of a project. And I’m even thinking about doing a small series of this bike for sale. It’s pretty unique!
The second FTR project is based on the 80s era AMA SBK race bikes and Rally cars. Black Swan and the FTR AMA project are for two brothers. The brother that commissioned Black Swan asked me to design a second build for his brother. Something colourful but sharp like a war tank. The only restriction was that it should have a Martini Racing livery.
After a little research and brainstorming, the main influence became the Lancia Delta HF. I’ve mixed this with a bit of the early Bol d’Or race bikes and some muscle bike flavour keeping an upright riding position, close to the original FTR which works so well.
With the Appaloosa v1.0 and v2.0 builds, you had some great partners providing advice, components, fabrication, and tuning skills. Who has stepped up for these FTR builds?
All of them and even more. I went to the Akrapovic factory a few days after the Baikal Mile to work on the Black Swan exhaust. I crossed the border to home for a few hours and they decided to close the border. That was tight.
Öhlins have shipped me a full set of custom components for Black Swan, quite impressive I have to say. Beringer Brakes is also in the game on both bikes with their new 4+ system. Super light, super nice.
I’m also working with Vinco Racing in Holland, Tim is taking care of all the CNC parts around both bikes. And there’s many of them.
My buddy Robert Colyns from 13.8 Composite is taking care of the carbon fibre fabrication.
On Black Swan, we will be fitting Rotobox carbon fibre wheels, they really are pieces of art! Liteblox Germany have made a bespoke carbon fibre battery for the bike, Cerakote Nl did all the black ceramic treatment. Jeroen from Silver Machine the seat works. Christophe from Forame design did all the 3D modelling from the Clay scan.
The FTR AMA wheel set is a total eye catcher. I collaborated with Fabio from JoNich Wheels in Italy. The design is based on his Rush wheels but without carbon flanges. They are machined from billet aluminium. And the design made me think about the turbo fans wheels used on the racing Lancia, so that was a perfect choice. They are completed by a Dunlop GP tyre set with this mad 200 section rear tyre.
So, as you can see, I’m not alone on this bike.

Breaking down the hype and understanding the H-D numbers for profit and sales:
North American sales are up 43 percent year-on-year in Q2, which is the only positive number when broken down by sales region. Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (commonly referred to among some OEMs as “EMEA”) are down by 7 percent for the same period. Asia Pacific sales are down 13 percent, and Latin America sales are down 31 percent.
Harley had some explanations for some of the negative numbers, stressing that they’re all part of its overall strategy. EMEA Q2 retail sales, the Motor Company said, went down because Harley stopped sales of the Street and legacy Sportster models in the region.
Meanwhile, Latin America sales were negatively impacted by a dealer reduction across the region, as well as “pricing actions across the portfolio, which were executed as part of the Rewire strategy.”
The H-D1 Marketplace website will sell uncertified pre-owned motorcycles of the brand as well making it very different from other companies which sell their own pre-owned certified cars, etc.

FROM THE CLIMATE DOOM FILES–German Emissions From Electricity Rose 25% In First Half Of 2021 Due To The Lack Of Wind Power, Not Willpower…
Is the German renewable energy effort about overcoming guilt?
German emissions from electricity generation increased in the first half of 2021 by one-quarter, or 21 million tons, according to German think tank Agora Energiewende. Gas-fired power plants increased 15%, coal power plants by 36%, and hard coal power plants by 44%.
Experts say it’s because Germany’s economy is growing more in its post-Covid recovery. “Overall, the recovery in demand is by far the main factor behind the increase in fossil fuel generation,” said a German energy analyst.
But the increase was also due to the lack of wind. Wind produced just 46.8 terawatt hours in the first six months of 2021 which is over one-quarter less than the 59.4 TWh they produced in the first half of 2020. Offshore wind generation, too, dropped by 16%, to 11.7 TWh during the period.
It’s true that there was a slight increase in solar power generation, wind was abnormally high in 2020, and things could improve next year. In contrast to 2020, there were no above-average wind and sun conditions in 2021.
But increased electricity from solar was from more solar panels, not more sunlight, and Germany couldn’t install enough of them to make up for the loss of electricity from wind turbines. Sunlight was down in the first half of 2021 even as solar panel installation was up. And the German parliament’s researchers recently concluded that Chinese solar panels were being made under conditions of genocide, which make sanctions, and fewer imports of China-made solar panels, inevitable.
Meanwhile, Germany is closing nuclear plants this year and next, which will result in more use of coal and natural gas, and thus increase carbon emissions. Of the 56% of German electricity that came from carbon-free sources in 2020, 24% overall came from nuclear, hydroelectric dams, and biomass, which are far more reliable than solar and wind.
Analysts say the closure of nuclear plants is directly responsible for higher electricity prices. Germany has the most expensive electricity in Europe and wind-heavy Denmark has the second most expensive. In the first half of 2020, German electricity prices were 43 percent higher than the European average.
As a result, Germany’s renewables experiment is effectively over. By 2025 it will have spent $580 billion to make its electricity nearly twice as expensive and ten times more carbon-intensive than France’s.
Germany’s rising emissions and electricity costs illustrate in dramatic fashion that modern nations cannot rely on weather-dependent energy sources to power their high energy economies. For environmental advocates of low-energy living, the pre-modern character of renewables has long been a feature, not a bug. But the rejection of modern energy by Germany in particular may also stem from its specific ambivalence over whether or not it wants to be a nation.

The words fiddle and violin are two names for the same stringed instrument—fiddle is just an informal way of referring to the violin. In the context of classical music, it’s typically called a violin. In a bluegrass band, it’s more likely to be called a fiddle.
What is a violin?
A violin is a stringed instrument played with a bow. It has a double curved body and a long, thin neck, somewhat like a guitar. But it’s smaller and it’s held horizontally, with the bottom part tucked between the shoulder and chin and the top of the neck held in the hand. Sound is produced by drawing a bow across the strings.
Violins are known for their especially beautiful and flexible tone. They’re common in string ensembles and orchestras and are an important instrument in many classical music compositions. The violin family of instruments also includes the viola, which is slightly larger than the violin.

The word fiddle is typically used when a person is playing the instrument in an informal context, like during a jig at a party or in a duel with the devil—not in a full symphony orchestra or a formal string quartet. Musicians playing the instrument in a bluegrass band are probably more likely to call themselves fiddlers than violinists due to the nature of the music and the performance. In contrast, saying that world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman “plays a good fiddle” would be done jokingly. But that doesn’t mean fiddlers can’t be excellent musicians.

The action on the track yielded a stout 810 entries for an exciting weekend of competition. The record spectator turnout enjoyed the variety of activities going down in the pits and the non-stop on-track action. With something for everyone, it’s no surprise this event grows every year.
Orient Express Racing Pro Street
Winner – Rodney Williford / Runner-up – Gaige Herrera
XDA’s WPGC Bike Fest is typically the warmest race of the season. But the warmer temperatures did not slow down the Orient Express Racing Pro Street riders. There were ten new personal best records sets over the weekend that show the strength and advancement of this class.
Justin Shakir is the ninth racer to break into the forties with a 6.482 pass that put him in the number one qualifying spot for the event. Shakir was making great consecutive passes at this event that would end in round two when his engine case broke during his burnout.
James Waugh made another big jump at this event, moving from a personal best of 6.930 to a 6.622, making him the twenty-second racer in the world to enter the sixties. Waugh would not get around Rodney Williford in round two of eliminations to end his weekend. Despite the loss, Waugh would still leave happy but with a little less hair, because apparently on team Shakir, the faster you go, the more hair your friends shave off your head.
Other racers that made minor ET improvements were Gaige Herrera 6.609, Ryan Hable 6.616, Kenny Brewer 6.647, and Curtis Brown 7.054.
Gaige’s 6.609 is also a new combo record for the Quickest Nitrous Hayabusa in Pro Street.
In the MPH department, Rickey Grayson with a 223.28 and Ricky Wood with a 221.34 will make their debut on the GOAT List. Ryan Hable and Kenny Brewer also made slight improvements with a 223.84 and 222.40, respectively.
And for the fourth race this season, Rodney Williford would pick off the competition round after round for another final round finish. Qualifying number two with a 6.505, Williford consistently took wins until he met a new competitor this season in the finals, Gaige Herrera. Herrera qualified with 6.609, and he too was making consistent strong passes all weekend that manifested him his first XDA Final.
The final was looking like it would be a good competition, especially considering Williford had some problems in the semi-final on his broke bye-run pass. The class was looking for Herrera to be the one to knock Williford off his throne, and his performance numbers showed he could do it.
In the final Herrera would cut his best light of the weekend with a starting line advantage of .030 to Williford’s .065. And as the two put on a good show in the final, Herrara couldn’t outperform Williford with a 6.619 to his winning 6.546. Williford remains undefeated this season, and #HeDidItOnPurpose.
DME Racing Real Street
Winner – Mark Hylton
Runner-up – David Stewart
In DME Racing Real Street, Mark Hylton ran his personal best and took the number one qualifying spot with a 7.498 on his all motor Hayabusa.
Hylton would prove unstoppable as he won every round of competition on his way to the final round where he met points leader David Stewart. Going into this race Hylton was only forty-four points behind Stewart, so the final would be crucial for Stewart.
In the final, Hylton would leave the starting line strong, but problems for Stewart wouldn’t get him past the first sixty feet giving Hylton his second XDA Real Street win! Hylton has closed the gap and is now only twenty-three points behind for a potential champion this year.
MaxxECU Pro Xtreme
Winner – Chris Garner Jones / Runner-up – John Collins
Shane Eperjesi took the number one qualifying position in MaxxECU Pro Xtreme with a 3.975. However, in round two of competition Eperjesi would be outrun by John Collins who ran a 4.006 to his 4.022.
John Collins would go on to the final to race Chris Garner-Jones. Jones qualified with a 3.992. And with Collins running a 3.992 in eliminations, these two competitors were well matched for an exciting round of action.
Jones got the starting line advantage with a .024 reaction to Collins .056. It was a close race at the finish line, and Jones would win his third event this season, running a 3.991 to Collins slightly slower 4.043.
HTP Performance Super Stock
Winner – Jeremy Teasley / Runner-up – David Fondon
David Fondon took the number one qualifying position in HTP Performance Super Stock with an 8.762 on his 2020 Kawasaki ZX-14.
Jeremy Teasley took over the riding duties on Tauncy Soprano’s 2020 BMW S1000RR; the same bike Fondon won with at the last two events. These two teammates would find themselves face to face in the final round for a true hand clutch battle.
Fondon left the starting line first with a .096 reaction time to Teasley’s .106. But Fondon’s advantage would not be able to out power the BMW as Teasley took his first Super Stock win with XDA to end Fondon’s winning streak.
HTP Performance Grudge
The HTP Performance Grudge class saw a record turnout of 142 grudge bikes that included forty-two bull racers. The spike in grudge was surged by the Mad Dog 20/20 vs Melania race that was finally going to go down. After Chris Moore backed out of the race at the MTC Summer Nationals in May, he had another two months to prepare for this race. But despite the extra time, Melania still wasn’t ready to face off with Mad Dog 20/20. Moore Mafia fell to pieces on his first shakedown pass on Friday night. Moore spent Friday night repairing his bike into Saturday morning.
On Saturday he made three more shakedown passes while Mad Dog 20/20 sat quietly in the pits waiting to be unleashed. But Moore would back out of the race, after not being able to get Melania ready and had to pay up the Punk Out money. Luckily for the Mad Dog 20/20 fans that bought raffle tickets, $24,400 was raised and one lucky Gadson fan (Shanta Jones) went home with $12,200 in cash. With Gadson’s half of the raffle winnings, the Moore ‘Punk Out’ money, and the Lock-In money from the last race at VMP, Gadson’s team took home $17,950 just for having the biggest bark.
APE Nitrous Bulls
Winner – Richard Gadson / Hail Mary
Runner-up – Malcolm Phillips / Black Jesus
Richard Gadson on ‘Hail Mary’ took out his frustration of not getting a bite out of ‘Melania’ by dominating the APE Nitrous Bulls class. On his way to the final, he took out Lavar Delee on ‘Jizzle’ and Chris Moore on ‘Fort Nite’.
Malcolm Phillips on ‘Black Jesus’ made easy work of Gaige Herrera on ‘Pee Wee,’ Russell Dennison on ‘Jimmy Hendricks, and Desmond Spalding on ‘Authority’ as he made his way to the final to meet Gadson.
The final was exciting as both bikes left hard and stayed side-by-side until the win light came on in Gadson’s lane. This win put him in the points lead by only two points over Russell Dennison.

3 Sixty 5 Monster Bulls saw a new face in the winner’s circle. Jason Herron on Spencer Calycomb’s ‘Tick Tok’ came out of the gate swinging. He took out heavy hitter Dave Page on ‘Pickin Pockets’ in round one, and then Junior Johnson on ‘Reparation’ as he made his way to the final round.
In the final, points leader David Martin on ‘Unknown’ was waiting for him. On his side of the ladder, Martin took wins against Joshua Jordan on ‘Italian Ice’ and Daniel Parker on ‘Boston George.’
Both riders gave the crowd an exciting final as they both left side-by-side and stayed in the throttle while they both fought to keep the power under control until the win light came on in Herron’s lane.
Tommies Motorsports DMV Bulls
Winner – Matt Dozier / Rick James
Runner-up – Desmond Spalding / Sho Nuff
In Tommies Motorsports DMV Bulls, two class newcomers dominated three rounds to face off in the final. Matt Dozier on ‘Rick James’ took down Derek Cash on ‘Hustler’, Jermaine Proctor on ‘Puffy,’ and Edward Thomas on ‘Da Setup’ to make it to his first DMV Final.
On the other side, Desmond Spalding on ‘Sho Nuff’ took down Kenyan Crawley on the ‘the Professor’, Cody Lowe on ‘Codeine’, and Sherell Blake on ‘Will Turner’.
In the final face-off, Spalding on ‘Sho Nuff’ was not the master of this final. Dozier left the starting line stronger, and Spalding could never catch up to him as the win light lit up for ‘Rick James.’
Vance & Hines 4.60
Winner – Shayne Proctor / Runner-up – Kenny Cornell
The Vance & Hines 4.60 class rarely sees the same winner twice in a season. But Shayne Proctor is changing the game with back-to-back wins.
1 Stop Speed 5.60
Winner – Dustin Lee / Runner-up – Carson Fields
1 Stop Speed 5.60 points leader Dustin Lee may not have made it to the final at the last event, but he made up for it at the WPGC Bike Fest.
After winning five rounds, Lee would face Carson Fields in the final. Fields had just won a race the previous weekend, and like Lee, he was in WIN mode. Unfortunately for Fields, he would react moments after staging leaving before his staging bulbs came down and handing the win to Dustin Lee.
Mickey Thompson Tires Top Sportsman
Winner – Robin Procopio / Runner-up – Pablo Gonzalez
Mickey Thompson Tires Top Sportsman is class full of the quickest heavy hitters in the bracket ranks. This was the first event this year that points leader Jeffrey Santin did not make a final-round appearance. Instead, Pablo Gonzalez, who attended his first XDA race this season, found himself in the final against Robin Procopio.
Procopio was running closer to her dial all day, and Gonzalez would have his work cut out for him. In the final, Procopio dialed an 8.28 and Gonzalez a 7.80. Procopio left the tree first, cutting a .074 reaction time. Gonzalez left with a .033 reaction time; however, he would never catch up to Procopio, allowing her to get to the stripe first with an 8.298 time to his slower 7.864. That’s only a margin of victory of .005 seconds or thirteen inches.
MPS Racing Pro ET
Winner – Jeffrey Santin / Runner-up – Dale Hamilton
It was Deja Vu in MPS Racing Pro ET at the WPGC Bike Fest. Despite the class having 156 racers in competition, Jeffrey Santin and Dale Hamilton would face off for the second final in a row. At the last event, Santin took the win over Hamilton, so naturally, it was Hamilton’s turn, right? After earning seven-win lights in the class, Hamilton would need to turn one more on if he wanted the win at this event.
In the final, Santin dialed an 8.40 to Hamilton’s 9.68. Hamilton left first with a .037 reaction, followed closely by Santin’s .031 light. Santin chased Hamilton down quickly and took another win running an 8.405 over to his 9.684. Santin pocketed $5,000 and is still at the top of the points lead.
Brock’s Performance Street ET
Winner – Russell Dennison Jr / Runner-up – Juan George
Over a hundred racers showed up to compete in Sunday’s Brock’s Performance Street ET race. For the second race in a row, a Floridian was in the final. After seven rounds of competition, Juan George from Kissimmee, FL faced Russell Dennison Jr. However, the race was anti-climatic as George turned on a -.022 red light in his lane, giving Dennison another win to add to his roster.
VooDoo Components Bracket Bash
Winner – Turon Davis / Runner-up – Dale Hamilton
The VooDoo Components Bracket Bash hit a record with a colossal 159 entries on Saturday. After seven rounds of competition, Turon Davis and Dale Hamilton sat at the ready across from each other in the final round, eager for the $3,000 win. Hamilton took himself out of the running and sent Davis straight to the winner’s circle when he cut a devastating -.007 red light.
