GET OUT AND VOTE BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for November 3, 2022
By Bandit |
Hey,
This has been an amazing year. Absolutely don’t forget to vote. I’ve been hard at writing articles all week long and speaking to folks far and wide about everything from old gas tanks to flat track racing in the Odessa, MO.
Rumor has it that after California bans the sale of ICE vehicles, they plan to ban driving on interstates unless you are driving electric. We are living in ban times. Ban everything quick. The planet…
But there are good times ahead and the truth is coming to the surface. When someone says, “Fossil fuels are bad, hell you can see the smog,” here are some simple facts:
ARM YOURSELF WITH THE FACTS!
–Gregory Wrightstone
C02 Coalition
Sorry, but CO2 is not a pollutant.
It’s plant food for life. If we cut it, we cut the potential for life.
We are not doomed and won’t be until another ice age hits, thousands of years from now. Then they’ll blame it on witches like they did in the 1600s.
Over the last 10,000 years, 6,100 years were warmer than it is now and there were no fossil fuels or SUVs.
Seas have been rising at a steady pace for 200 years, since the end of the little ice age.
Burning Fossil Fuels helped the planet avoid dangerously low C02 levels, not the other way around.
There you have it, the facts. Your straight pipes are cool and so is the ol’ lady’s SUV. When it’s warming life is abundant. When it cools or another ice age approaches, we’re in trouble.

Classic of the week: 1963 Aermacchi Ala Verde
translated by most sources, “ala verde” is Italian for “green wing.” After only moderate success with the streamline-styled Chimera*, Aermacchi took the sloper 175 cc engine out to about 250ccs and adapted the stylish Chimera’s single shock spine frame into a more conventional twin shock design. The 175 and 250 versions began a 15-year run in a range of street and racing bikes. The design became a popular street bike, but also achieved amazing results in the hands of racers here, in Britain and in Europe.
Unusual with its sloping single cylinder and spine frame, this Aermacchi design was otherwise straight forward using an overhead valve air-cooled single cylinder engine. Initially using six-volt battery ignition, race versions incorporated magneto ignitions, and later machines were higher revving short strokes with five-speed gear boxes. You can imagine maintenance was simple even if you had to pull the engine, important with race bikes.
Aer Macchi means “air machine” in Italian. Aermacchi was founded in 1912 by Giulio Macchi to build airplanes. Soon after World War II, in 1951, the company expanded to make motorcycles. Harley-Davidson, looking for a way to get proven small motorcycles to their dealers, around 1960 bought a 50% share of the company, and adapted an existing Aermacchi, a 250cc motorcycle to become the Harley Sprint.
Indeed, through this 175 cc four-stroke pushrod “sloper” engine design, the Harley Sprint engine began its life. Note the dual branding on this bike’s tank graphics. Many more two-stroke and four-stroke Aermacchi-built bikes became part of the Harley-Davidson line.
Designed by Alfred Bianchi, introduced in 1956 and very radical for the time, the original Chimera was not a sales success; some documents state less than 125 of the 175cc machines were built. Available as both a 175 and a 250 it was later redesigned as a more conventional motorcycle which gave birth to the Harley-Davidson Sprint available in displacements up to 350 cc’s. Typical for the time and Italian design, the bike shifts on the right and has no intake air filtration, unusual is the left side kick starter.
A close look at this motorcycle, located in the Museum’s Cafe Racer exhibit, reveals a few custom touches. The forks have been stripped of their sheet metal covers, have been polished and alloy seal retainers installed. The front fender is trimmed a bit and the front drum brake ventilated. The seats on most Ala Verdes are decked and completely upholstered whereas this bike has a stylish hard finished seat cowl of unknown origin and special inner fender. Rims are polished alloy instead of chrome plated steel.
When you visit the National Motorcycle Museum you can take in American Picker Frank Fritz’s Sprint, John Parham’s Pebble Beach winning blue and cream Chimera* 175, and other great Italian designed motorcycles. This Ala Verde is from the Jill & John Parham Collection and all of these Sprint versions are on the Museum website under MOTORCYCLES.

FILM REVIEW OF THE WEEK–Another Showcase of Motorcycle Action
This week I recommend watching the wild action-comedy featuring a Triumph motorcycle with a blonde rider who ain’t James Bond.
He is the “Hitman’s Bodyguard” (2017) killing Belarus assassins to keep the outlaw hitman alive so that the killer can testify in International Criminal Court in Prague against a genocidal dictator from a former Soviet State, while keeping the compromised Interpol out of the way.
How is that for a complete breakdown and synopsis?
Well, that doesn’t do “justice” to the balanced dose of action and comedy. Obviously the two leading men developed a very comfortable rapport off-screen and this reflects in their scenes.
Here are snippets :
“This man single-handedly ruined the word m*****## , Do you know how hard that is to do?”
The motorcycle action has poster boy Ryan Reynolds riding on a cool Triumph through the lanes of Amsterdam, where all those bicycle riders wonder what that thing on two-wheels is?
“Relax m*****##, if you hear the shot then it wasn’t meant for you.”
There are real outdoor adventures too, through cow pastures and hitching a ride in a van full of nuns.
“I know hamburgers who know more about love than you.”
Great camaraderie by the actors, great action movie punchlines, great chase, meaning of justice and limited “rights” of the lawmen against evil guys. The gun action and unarmed combat are as good as the first “John Wick” movie.
Triumph is really capitalizing on memories of yore in Hollywood by offering Triumph motorcycles to cool well-produced movies.
I enjoyed this more than the last James Bond movie (who isn’t sick of that dead lover of Bond angle anymore ? It’s as lengthy as a Martin Scorcese movie in recent times)
Have a look, foul language and high body-count. Try keeping it out of your kids’ reach or just borrow the one they already have. LOL.
Poster reads: “Everyone’s out to get them, if they don’t kill each other first.” Ain’t that the story of human civilization?

When President Joe Biden (D) again called for a ban on popular, commonly-owned semi-automatic rifles on October 13—a goal the White House press secretary repeated on October 24—he was attempting to dictate to Americans what are the key issues at stake in this midterm election on November 8.
But then, President Biden has long misunderstood the American love for freedom.
President Biden said in July that “the American people agree with this common sense action” when referring to a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives to ban the sale of firearms that use a technology invented in the late nineteenth century.
So Biden, and one supposes many members of his administration, believe that taking away the freedom to own an old technology—semi-automatic firearms have been popularly sold for well over 100 years to the American public—is a winning campaign issue at a time when far-left policies have arguably caused a crime wave.
The thing is, voters say they don’t buy this false narrative.
A survey by The New York Times/Siena College? found that just 1% of likely voters said “gun policies” are the “most-important” problem facing America today.
Actually, instead of blaming semi-automatic firearms for the actions of murderers and other criminals, millions of Americans have bought their first gun over the last few years—and the number-one firearm type first-time gun buyers purchase is the semi-automatic pistol.
In the Times/Siena poll, 44% of likely voters said the economy and inflation (26% said the “economy” and 18% said “inflation”) were their top two concerns. ?The old adage “it’s the economy stupid” is still relevant.
And this poll was hardly an outlier. Actually, as The Hill reported on October 18, “Inflation, crime and immigration are entrenched as voters’ top concerns heading into next month’s midterm elections.” The Hill was citing a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll.
Also, a Monmouth University poll found that “[f]ewer than 1 in 10 select … gun control (9%)” as their most-important concern in this election; in fact, the same poll found only a 30% approval for President Biden on gun control.
This, of course, hasn’t stopped President Biden from calling for new gun and magazine bans. Americans already own over 24.4 million of the semi-automatic rifles Biden would call “assault weapons.” It is difficult to even measure the huge number of so-called “high-capacity” magazines Americans own today. Clearly, these rifles, along with semi-automatic handguns and shotguns, are in common use and therefore have constitutional protections.
All of this shows that the Biden administration is living in an ideological bubble. It believes that blaming freedom for a crime wave is a believable argument—even when policy changes, such as cash-free bail policies in some areas, are obviously letting violent criminals walk, allowing them to continue to prey on the public. Despite a lot of mainstream-media spin, a large percentage of voters are not buying the Biden administration’s false claim.

FREEDOM FROM THE FEDS, AMAZING–It’s Time for Turn-Key Replicas!
The long wait is over: The federal replica car law has finally taken effect. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a regulation in March permitting replica manufacturers to begin production of completed vehicles.
The law allows low-volume manufacturers to sell up to 325 new fully-functional replicas per year that resemble production vehicles from at least 25 years ago. Enthusiasts will now be able to purchase reimagined versions of classic vehicles, including everything from Roaring Twenties cars and 1930s roadsters to 1970s muscle cars and rare exotics among others.
Having a chance to sell brand-new heritage cars consumers could drive off the lot was just a dream in 2011 when SEMA worked with lawmakers in the U.S. Congress to introduce the Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act. Years of advocacy on Capitol Hill by SEMA and its kit car allies led to the replica car provision becoming law as part of the 2015 highway bill.

This year Born-Free 13 was the first show to be held on the last weekend of June, its usual timeslot, since the pre-Covid Born-Free 11 in 2019. (Born-Free 12 was finally staged, after several government-mandated postponements, in August of 2021.) The excitement and energy of the invited builders, as well as the crowd, was as palpable as ever and perhaps even more so. To me, it felt like they never skipped a beat.

DIRECT FROM THE CLIMATE DOOM DEPARTMENT—
In 2009, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, under the auspices of the Clean Air Act, falsely determined that carbon dioxide was a pollutant. This is known as the Endangerment Finding and has been used since then to enable EPA to regulate and control CO2 emissions.
It is this authority that is being used to shut down coal power plants, kill internal combustion vehicles, ban natural gas for home heating and the misguided attempt to achieve a net zero economy.
On October 14th, the Concerned Household Electricity Consumers Council petitioned the United States Court Of Appeals For The District Of Columbia for a review of their petition to repeal the Endangerment Findings.
The CO2 Coalition, along with Doctors William Happer and Richard Lindzen, filed an amicus brief in support of their petition.
Our amicus brief found that the Endangerment Findings should be rescinded immediately because they were based on:
- Speculative theories and not on the scientific method
- False science based on consensus, fabricated material, and models that don’t work
- Government opinion, not real science
- Censorship of any science that contradicted their notion of man-made catastrophic warming
This is a hugely important case that is only now making its way through our legal system.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA AND VETERANS DAY—
by Joseph Reagan, Director of Military and Veterans Outreach for Wreaths Across America and Afghanistan Veteran.
The 11th hour has become synonymous with Veterans Day, originally called Armistice day, in recognition of the document signed at the 11th hour, or the 11th day, of the 11th month. In reality, the Armistice ending the war to end all wars was signed around 5 am on November 11th.
Over the course of the next 6 hours, nearly 3,000 men would lose their lives in the final hours of a war that had already claimed the lives of 20 million military personnel. The final death of WW1 came at 10:59 am one minute before the guns of war would fall silent.
Private Henry Gunther was a German-American drafted in the fall of 1917; most accounts state that his final actions were motivated by Gunther’s need to demonstrate that he was “courageous and all-American.” A chaplain from Gunther’s unit recounted, “As 11 a.m. approached, Gunther suddenly rose with his rifle and ran through thick fog. His men shouted for him to stop. So did the Germans. But Gunther kept running and firing. One machine gun blast later, he was dead. His death was recorded at 10:59 a.m.
In every conflict, inevitably a final service member pays the ultimate sacrifice. In World War II, Private Charlie Havlat, the son of Czech immigrants, in the closing days of the war, found himself liberating his parents’ former homeland – word of the cease-fire reached his position minutes after he was killed.
Officially, the U.S. has never declared a final casualty in the Korean War; since the armistice was signed, nearly 100 U.S. Soldiers have been killed in combat on the Korean peninsula. On April 29, 1975, Charles McMahon and Darwin Judge were two of a small number of Marines tasked with safeguarding the U.S. Embassy in Saigon. They had been deployed for only 11 days when they were killed by a rocket attack. The U.S. would complete the process of withdrawing from Saigon the following day.
Staff Sergeant Ryan Knauss was the last of the 2,461 Service Members who died in Afghanistan; he along with 12 of his comrades was killed in a suicide attack during the withdrawal from Kabul.
In every war, there is always one that must fill the dignified but dubious role in history as being the last to give the full measure of devotion. Each year on the 11th day of the 11th month as a nation we pause, not only to honor those that have given their lives but for all those who believed so deeply in American exceptionalism that they were willing to give their lives to defend it.
For most Americans talking about war is conceptual, something learned through history books, news reports, and movies – those that have served do not have that luxury. Not only should we remember that the democratic principles we hold so dear have been defended by generations of Americans whom we honor on Veterans Day, but more importantly we should take inspiration from that sacrifice.
Our country, despite all our self-imposed differences, needs to look to our Veterans and see that there are no divisions in a foxhole – there are only those who stand in defense of democracy and those who stand against it.
While we may only celebrate Veterans Day with a few moments of silence each year, we have an opportunity to use those moments to find our own way to serve as part of our commitment to living up to the legacy of our Veterans.
When the Armistice was signed in 1918 when the Japanese surrendered, and when the last flights departed Kabul and Saigon – these were not simply endings – they were new beginnings. We honor those who serve by recommitting ourselves to making the sacrifices necessary to preserve our way of life.
As Adlai Stevenson once stated, “Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.” Let this Veterans Day be a new beginning. Go forth and find a way to serve, our nation, our communities, and each other – we owe it to our Veterans.
Joseph Reagan is the Director of Military and Veterans Outreach for Wreaths Across America. He has over 10 years’ experience working with leaders within Government, non-profit, and Fortune 500 companies to develop sustainable strategies supporting National Security, and Veterans Health. He served 8 years on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Army including two tours to Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain Division. He is a graduate of Norwich University, the oldest private military college in the country.

VANCE & HINES Launches Line of American-Made Performance Truck Exhausts—
Vance & Hines, the industry leader in motorcycle performance products, today announced a line of performance exhaust systems for America’s most popular truck models. Bearing the name Vance & Hines HoleShot Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust Systems, this new line has been developed and will be manufactured at the company’s headquarters in California.
Drawing from the most recognized Vance & Hines designs, the HoleShot Series will feature options including its classic Twin Slash cut, as well as the race-inspired Eliminator tip.
Each exhaust system in the HoleShot Series is designed to replace stock exhaust systems after the catalytic converter (Cat Back) to the exhaust tips. The systems keep all emissions-control equipment in place, while delivering a deeper exhaust note thanks to a turbo-chambered muffler design that has also been engineered to eliminate unpleasant in-cabin “drone.”
The initial lineup from the company includes systems designed for late-model, half-ton, crew cab, V8, Ford F150, Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado trucks. With nearly 30 million late model pickups on the road today, SEMA Market Research estimates that pickups account for over 30% of all accessory retail sales.
All HoleShot Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust Systems will be manufactured using high-grade 304 stainless steel with CNC mandrel bending at the company’s manufacturing facility in Santa Fe Springs, California.
“With four decades of success on the track and on the street, the Vance & Hines brand isn’t new to truck owners in the United States,” said Mike Kennedy, CEO and president of Vance & Hines. “We believe that owners will love the unique look and the great sound they’ll get with our new HoleShot Series. I’m confident our die-hard fans will proudly drive their truck knowing ‘This isn’t the only bad-ass vehicle in my garage.”
The HoleShot Series for Ford F-150 features large dual 4-inch tips with a side exit behind the rear tire. Available with three options including mirror-finish Twin Slash tips, brushed finish Eliminator with black end caps and blacked-out Eliminator both with riveted logo badging. They fit 2021 through 2022 crew cab, V8, short-box models and retail from $1,299.99 to $1,499.99.
The HoleShot Series for Chevrolet Silverado features four, 4-inch tips exiting the rear bumper cut-outs in either mirror-finish Twin Slash or blacked-out Eliminator with laser engraved logos. They fit 2019 through 2022 crew cab, V8, short-box models and retail price will range from $1,699.99 to $1,999.99.
The HoleShot Series for Ram 1500 with extra-large, dual 5-inch tips is available with either mirror-finish Twin Slash or blacked-out Eliminator with riveted logo badging. They fit 2019 through 2022 crew cab, V8, short-box models and retail price ranges from $1,399.99 to $1,599.99.
The new systems will debut this week at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the premier trade show for automotive specialty equipment manufacturers.
Vance & Hines HoleShot Series Cat-Back Performance Exhaust Systems will be available in the first quarter of 2023 through the Vance & Hines website and select automotive parts retailers around the country.

Hours after the ‘faulty’ battery of an e-scooter manufactured by a Jaipur-based Tech Startup company “Batt:RE” was returned to a Vasai dealer by the owner for replacement, it exploded.
The battery, under warranty, was not being charged when sparks led to the explosion and a fire. While no one was injured, 15 e-bikes and furniture of the showroom were destroyed.
It is the second case of an e-scooter battery of the same company exploding in Vasai. Last month, a 7-year-old boy died after the battery, being charged, exploded.
While e-scooters in both cases are of the same model, the batteries belong to different companies.
Battery was seized by the fire brigade. The Manickpur police station said it will be sent for forensic analysis.

FROM LAW TIGERS– Motorcycle Safety Inspection –
6 Step DIY Checklist
How often do you examine your motorcycle before you hit the open road? Before every single ride? Sometimes? Almost never?
We’re not talking about a brief check to make sure you’ve got two inflated tires. Instead, we’re referring to the land vehicle equivalent of a pilot’s aircraft inspection. While you don’t necessarily have to be as comprehensive as an airline pilot, we highly recommend taking a close look at your bike before jumping on and going for a ride.
We’ve outlined seven steps you should walk through to verify your motorcycle is road-ready.
Step 1: Start with the Obvious
Do a 360 look around the bike and look for anything obvious that seems unsafe or out of place. Specifically, you might notice a crack in the frame, loose footpegs, or leaks. If anything needs to be repaired, make sure you handle those repairs before making any trips.
Step 2: Look at Your Wheels
There are a couple of things you should be looking for here. The first is adequate tire pressure. Make sure that the tires are inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended psi.
Next, check the tread to make sure you’ve got proper traction for the road. Look for even wear and enough remaining tread. You can tell you’ve got enough tread by putting a penny head down in the tread’s grooves. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, then it’s time to replace the tires.
Step 2: Check the Brakes
Here, you’ll want to look at your brake pads to ensure they haven’t experienced excessive wear. If your brake pads had grooves in them when they were new (and most do), make sure that there is still evidence of a groove.
We also suggest testing your brakes (both front and rear) to ensure they work.
Step 3: Confirm Electrical Systems are a Go
Whether your bike is brand new or vintage, you’ll at least need to ensure the battery is in good working order. Check the terminal cables to verify they’re firmly attached and make sure there’s no corrosion. If you do notice some gunk, a simple baking soda solution can wipe things clean.
Turn the ignition key and examine the display to ensure everything that should light up does, and no warning lights appear. You can also take this opportunity to check all of your lights, including headlight and taillight, your turn signals, and your brake light. Give your horn a quick honk to be sure it’s functional and audible.
And finally, while you’re here, check the rotation of the handlebars to ensure a full range of motion.
Step 4: Examine Your Hoses
A leaking or detached hose can leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere. At worst, you could end up in an accident as you lose fluid or power from a faulty hose. Take a quick look at your hoses to check that they’re connected properly and free from cracks.
Step 5: Ensure Proper Hydration
Just like humans need to stay hydrated to survive, your motorcycle also relies on fluids to operate. The most important fluids to check are engine oil, fork oil (which is necessary for lubrication), and brake fluid. If your bike uses transmission fluid, remember to check those levels as well.
Step 6: Verify Your Gear is Operational
The final step is to make sure that all of your gear is in top shape. Examine your helmet and make sure it’s not cracked, and you can see through the visor. Even a superficial crack that seems cosmetic can affect the structural integrity of the helmet and diminish its protective capabilities in a crash.
Another factor to consider is whether your clothing, gloves, and shoes fit properly, are comfortable, and allow for an adequate range of motion.
The Importance of Motorcycle Safety Inspections
These inspections only take a few minutes, and they can mean the difference between a fun-filled ride and one that ends in tragedy. If you are in an accident, you can strengthen your case by proving that you performed these inspections regularly. Have additional questions about motorcycle safety? Visit Law Tigers to get more information.

Fool You Twice, Shame Shame Shame
1. Like Bandit said dozens of times in the past, test this EV concept before legislating the end of ICE vehicles or signing some international agreement. This is too little too late because billions of dollars have been invested in making and selling these shitty rides in Asia (the alleged capital of greenhouse emissions). The old saying, “A position where one can’t swallow and can’t spit it out now!”
2. I have seen idiots who buy a pitch-black colored electric scooter for the terrible heat of urban cities. It’s like getting a terrorism license for moving and parking a bomb.

Heavy Industries Ministry announces new safety tests for electric vehicles
These tests will enhance human safety of the battery used in these vehicles by requiring checks at three levels – the battery pack, battery management system (BMS) and the cell, as per a circular from the ministry.
This comes at a time when many have raised questions around safety standards of EVs sold in India following a spate of incidents of these vehicles spontaneously bursting into flames, leading to the loss of multiple lives.

TRIBUTE OF THE WEEK—
It’s with deep sadness we heard of the passing of Diane Morrow, wife to the racing and performance icon Carl Morrow and mom to racing legend Doug Morrow. The family was also extremely close to Evel Knievel.
I met Diane several times at the Carl’s Speed Shop facility in California. Carl and I were team members on a Monster Garage episode. I also had the opportunity to see the delightful Mrs. Morrow in Daytona at their new headquarters a couple of times. Doug called to tell me about her medical issue and how serious it was, but then only a week later she passed.
She was special to the end.

AMA LEGISLATIVE AGENDA—
Congress is considering legislation that will decide the future of motorcycling, and federal agencies are enacting sweeping regulations that will impact our right to ride. Your help is needed now to support motorcycle-friendly lawmakers in Washington, D.C., and ensure they are elected—or re-elected—in this critical election year.
The most cost-effective way to make a difference is to donate to the American Motorcyclist Political Action Committee. AMPAC exists for one reason: to financially support federal lawmakers who will fight to defend your freedom to ride. Every dollar given is used precisely for that purpose.
Give to AMPAC Today
• Ensuring automated-vehicle technology does not put motorcyclists at risk
• Your right to modify your own bike
• Responsible off-highway vehicle access to public lands
• Restrictions on high-ethanol fuels that are unsafe for motorcycles
• A greater voice for motorcyclists in federal government
• Protecting motorcyclist safety funds and programs
Politicians and unelected Washington bureaucrats are under constant pressure from powerful lobbies encouraging them to permit unproven highly automated vehicles on our highways, expand the availability of unsafe high-ethanol fuels and prohibit responsible access to public lands. Our support through AMPAC counters that pressure!
Without your involvement, new legislative and regulatory victories will be impossible. Politicians understand strength in numbers. Help build the roster of elected officials standing up for the rights of all motorcyclists—donate to AMPAC today!
Sincerely,
Michael Sayre
Director of Government Relations
American Motorcyclist Association

BIKERNET TEAM WORKING ON XMAS—
We are working with Atomic Bob for the art and Chopper Dave on a classic cast aluminum points cover effort for Xmas.
I’ll bring you reports on the various stages. Atomic Bob helped us greatly with cleaning up and organizing the art. Hang on for the next report.
TOURING LINK
The Touring Link is an inexpensive and easy to install solution to the handling challenges faced by most touring models. Does not hang below the frame or impede ground clearance. Keeps motor/swingarm assembly aligned with chassis without introducing unnecessary vibration to the rider.
May not fit with aftermarket exhaust systems ie cross over exhaust etc.
SONG PICK OF THE WEEK—
Here is a fun country rocking number. We all complain about the weather and politics but do nothing about it. Participate! Do more than just vote. Get out there and dare to be a social worker or work to become an elected public officer.
Not everyone’s cup of tea, is it? We drones need to be busy with paying the next utility bill, paying the next rent, paying for the vehicle to get to work, saving to pay the tax every year.
Well then, just enjoy the music then, because as The Doors sang, “When the music’s over, turn out the lights….Music is your only friend….until the End!”
Song: Dirt Rich
Artists: Brothers Osborne
Album: Pawn Shop (2016)

Fridge is leakin’ and the faucets drippin’
Smoke detector chirps all night
The squeaky screen door with a hole big enough
To let the neighborhood bugs inside
Out back Jack’s got a chop top Cadillac
Three years up on blocks
The junk mail box lookin’ like it’s been drinkin’
Leanin’ to 11 o’clock
We work a long day
Sunup to payday
For a life this big
If you’re broke don’t fix it
Learn to live with it
And like it just the way it is
When you’re dirt rich
Laid back lax lettin’ go and lovin’ this
Itty bitty slice of American pie
Some folks think it’s all about the money, honey
We’re livin’ proof that ain’t right
We work a long day
Sunup to payday
For a life this big
If you’re broke don’t fix it
Learn to live with it
And like it just the way it is
When you’re dirt rich
We work a long day
Sunup to payday
For a life this big
If you’re broke don’t fix it
Learn to live with it
And like it just the way it is
When you’re dirt rich
When you’re dirt rich
Oh, yep when you’re dirt rich
When you’re dirt rich

Arizona Senator Rallies for Passage of the RPM Act—
Since being elected to Congress in November 2020, U.S. Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) has proven himself to be a strong ally and defender of motorsports.
Sen. Kelly is an original cosponsor of S. 2736, the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act of 2021 (RPM Act), and he has championed the bill both publicly and behind the scenes.
Sen. Kelly recently spoke at a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing about the importance of the RPM Act and amateur racing, noting that his wife, former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords, raced motorcycles on the track.
“Racing is important to many Arizonans – and it’s a part of our state’s legacy,” he said. “The RPM Act will help provide certainty to Arizona’s amateur racers and auto mechanics from EPA regulations, which could harm their ability to enjoy the hobby of motorsport.”

Electric Cars Keep Bursting Into Flames In Florida
After Hurricane Ian, an unexpected inferno of EVs. What’s going on?
By Jonathan Small
Entrepreneur.com
Hurricane Ian caused billions in damage and upended lives, but few people expected that it would cause electric vehicles to burst into flames.
But that’s just what happened.
In the days following Hurricane Ian, the saltwater flooding in coastal areas caused the lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles to combust.
Firefighters in Naples, for example, needed to extinguish six blazes in EVs that had been submerged in seawater.
Heather Mazurkiewicz, a spokesperson for the fire department, said firefighters needed “thousands upon thousands” of gallons of water to extinguish the EV fires — much more than what a typical gas car fire would require.

Is the true crisis climate change … or climate policy?
IT’S BACK: Make plans NOW to join The Heartland Institute at the 15th edition of the most important and informative conference on climate science and energy policy in the world.
Held at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista in Orlando, Florida — a location we picked to honor Florida’s status as by-design ‘free state’ — this conference will once again bring together the world’s best experts to analyze the latest climate science and the wrong-headed energy and policy solutions the world’s governments are determined to impose on us all.
From the green energy boondoggles in the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” in the United States, to the ongoing wind-power disaster in Germany, and threats of energy cuts in the winter in the UK, the climate policy “solutions” are a real and growing problem for the people of the world. Why are we making life poorer and more miserable for most of the people on the planet when there is no climate crisis?
Attend this conference to learn the truth and inspire your own passion to spread that truth around the globe.
GET YOUR TICKETS TODAY AT THE EARLY BIRD RATE OF $399.
Although the program is still coming together, we are planning six plenary sessions and 16 panel presentations – with two concurrent tracks – featuring some 40 speakers.

Harley-Davidson’s history with the U.S military dates back more than a century. The Motor Company’s “iron horses” were a part of General “Black Jack” Pershing’s 1916 efforts to chase Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa around the Mexican desert on the heels of the Mexican Revolution. Harley-Davidson has always been on the front lines – right next to the troops. In fact, the first American to enter Germany after World War I did so on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
And in what has become an annual tradition of expressing gratitude for those who serve and those who have served, all active military, veterans and their families will enjoy complimentary admission to the H-D Museum on Friday, Nov. 11. Plus, MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant is also looking to say thanks by offering veterans a free meal on Nov. 11.
That’s right, all veterans and active military personnel will receive a free meal (up to $12.95 with the purchase of a beverage). It’s a great time to check out a recent acquisition: an original, unrestored 1969 Model XLA military Sportster with only 11,873 miles on the odometer. This XLA was specifically built on specification for military use and is in its original olive paint and military trim after serving on Fort Lewis, Washington for Military Police duty.
Also this month, the new H-D Factory Shop is now open seven days a week, 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The official H-D outlet is your source for savings on end-of-season gear and discounted products. With the Harley-Davidson Shop and the new H-D Factory Shop, the H-D Museum campus now boasts more than 13,000 square feet of Harley-Davidson premium retail experience – just in time for holiday shopping.
And have you enrolled in MOTOR Bar & Restaurant’s new Rev Rewards program? If the monthly specials weren’t enough to entice you (see below) in for lunch, dinner, a Friday fish fry or BBQ & Blues, you can now earn rewards every time you dine at MOTOR.
This will also be the last call for “Building a Milwaukee Icon: Harley-Davidson’s Juneau Avenue Factory,” before it departs the Bridge Gallery later this month. Stay tuned for exciting news on a new family-friendly, bilingual exhibit set to go up in December.
Finally, mark your calendars for Dec. 7 – Dec. 18 for a new Harley tradition, 12 Days of Holiday Fun at the Harley-Davidson Museum. Make reservations for Breakfast with Santa. And look out for exclusive after-hours shopping at the Harley-Davidson Shop and the Factory Shop. The campus will provide the perfect backdrop for fun family photo ops and so much more.

In a gunfight, the most important rule is … HAVE A GUN!
The following are shooting tips from various Concealed Carry Instructors. If you own a gun, you will appreciate these rules… If not, you should get one, learn how to use it, and learn the rules.
RULES
A) Guns have only two enemies: Rust and Politicians. Rust can be prevented, but Politicians cannot.
B.) It’s always better to be judged by 12 than carried out by 6.
C) Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you
D.) Never let someone or something that threatens you get within 7 yards.
E.) Never say “I’ve got a gun.” If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they should hear is the safety clicking off, or the hammer cocking.
F.) The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes …when only seconds count; the response time of a .357 is 1,400 feet per second.
G.) The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always Win – there is no such thing as a fair fight. Always Win – cheat if necessary. Always Win – 2nd place doesn’t count.
H.) Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets .. you may get killed with your own gun, but they’ll have to beat you to death with it because it will be empty.
I.) If you’re in a gunfight:
(a) If you’re not shooting, you should be reloading.
(b) If you’re not reloading, you should be moving.
(c) If you’re not moving, you’re dead.
J.) In a life-and-death situation, do something … it may be wrong, but do something!
K.) If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?
L.) Never fire a warning shot, that is just one wasted bullet, which could be needed within moments.
M.) You can say “stop” or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone’s head is pretty much a universal language; and, you won’t have to press 1 for Spanish/Mexican, 2 for Chinese, or 3 for Arabic.
N.) Never leave a wounded enemy behind. If you have to shoot, shoot to kill. In court, yours will be the only testimony.
O.) You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.
If you believe in the 2nd Amendment, forward this to others you know who also believe.
Here’s a shot of a billet machined ARCH motorcycle gas tank with the fuel pump bracket on the inside.
We are having a flag pole built by a local welder. I’m handling all the gear and the piece at the top. This is the basis for the first wing.
I’m working with Markus Cuff on the tank feature and he just completed the art and design for Carla Olson and Stephen McCarthy’s new cd.
I built this stand for a massive sink in the shop. I followed the Dream Girl’s art with tools to support the stand. I’m waiting on Wolf’s plumbing to hook it up.
We are waiting on a story about Deus Ex Machina, a struggling company. I remember visiting their location in Los Angeles. Hang on for the story.
I took this bracket and filter off the ’48 UL. It leaked around one of the hose fittings. I brazed it and replaced the bastard. Done deal, I could take it off the lift.
Exciting, the lift was cleared for my winter project.
A couple of brothers want to come over for the initial phase of setting the VL, XA, S&S Knucklehead project up on its wheels. We need a name for this puppy.
I’m anxious to see it on wheels. I’m just using a couple of wheels I have in the shop. That’s an 18 on the rear and a 19 front, which makes sense for the gravel roads around here. I wanted to go slim and classic, so I may replace them. I’m not up on tire sizes. I wouldn’t mind running a fat 19 rear if that’s possible and a 19 front. I wonder what’s available in 21-inch tires?
Okay, it’s almost whiskey time. Hang on for reports next week. If we can plug the Knuck together, I will write up the first tech next week. We are trying to order a JIMS 5 in a 4-speed transmission case. Randy at Dakota V-Twin is trying to chase one down.
In the meantime, get out and vote. Every vote helps to insure we can ride free forever.

MotoGP 22 Game Review: its the season for living-room-speed
By Wayfarer |
by Silvian Secara from https://www.autoevolution.com
Purposeful Refinements, Better Graphics and an All-New Game Mode (PC)
You’ll find that it can feel way more accessible to beginners while simultaneously catering to a more sim-focused crowd.
The ongoing MotoGP season has been an absolute blast so far, with each race offering plenty of entertainment for motorsport fans to enjoy. We’ve seen fantastic performances as well as embarrassing mistakes from riders like Aleix Espargaró, Francesco Bagnaia, and the reigning world champion Fabio Quartararo, whose DNF in Assen is sure to spice up the title challenge after the summer break.
Since we’re currently waiting for the action to restart at Silverstone on August 7, it’s a perfect time to discuss the newest installment of Milestone’s officially-licensed videogame franchise. Just like its predecessor, MotoGP 22 hasn’t managed to butter everyone’s toast, and a common complaint you’ll hear people make is related to the lack of any major improvements over last year’s title.
In all fairness, the game isn’t considerably better than its 2021 counterpart, but subtle tweaks and baby steps are what we’ve come to expect from annual sporting releases of this sort. Nonetheless, it is a shame the developers haven’t taken the opportunity to make the career mode more interesting, nor did they add the dynamic weather feature that people were hoping for.
As far as graphics are concerned, substantial steps have been taken to refine the overall look of textures, liveries, and, most notably, riders’ faces. Whereas the previous MotoGP was rather awful as regards the latter, I was pleased to find that facial models are vastly improved this time around. Credit where credit is due; this year’s GP racing sim from Milestone Interactive offers the best visual experience of the whole series!
Click & Follow the Bikernet Blog Weekly Newsletter for new products, reviews, news, events & more
Aesthetics aside, the gameplay feels responsive and way more accessible to beginners than that of prior releases. New players may access a plethora of comprehensive tutorials to learn the ropes, and the various assists can certainly make the learning curve feel less terrifying. Turn them off, and you’ll be punished for the slightest mistake, but the game’s difficulty is perfectly manageable when some (or all) of these functions are employed.
Giving you the ability to find an ideal balance for your skillset, MotoGP 22 is a much better pick for newcomers than its forerunner. One should not, however, rely too heavily on things like braking point markers or the color-coded ideal trajectory line, as they’ll often cause you to brake later than necessary and end up in the gravel.
Even though more seasoned players won’t be using these aids anyway, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re just starting out. As for the AI, I found it to be a little more aggressive and spatially aware than before, though there’s copious room for improvement left in this area. Instances where other riders bump straight into you on corner exits, are still present, so be prepared to deal with such annoyances from time to time.
An additional layer of complexity is added by the freshly-introduced ride height device (RHD), which can be used when accelerating out of turns to prevent wheelies. Furthermore, many found the curbs to be harsh and largely unusable last year, and that’s one aspect of track design the developers have addressed since then. As the physics were also updated, they may feel a bit weird at first, but it’s not too much of a hassle to get used to them.
While the career and quick modes fall firmly within what we’ve grown accustomed to over time, the same can’t be said for the documentary-style Nine: Season 2009 campaign. Directed and narrated by Mark Neale, the said mode takes you on a trip down memory lane to a time when four contenders battling ruthlessly for the world title.
Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa, and Casey Stoner; are all coming within a few points of one another in the first half of the season. The Doctor went on to secure his seventh and last championship in the premier class that year, and you’ll be stepping into the shoes of multiple riders as the storyline progresses through iconic moments.
Separate chapters depict every race from Losail to Valencia, with each of them providing various challenges for players to complete. These are intertwined with approximately 50 minutes of footage from the 2009 season, alongside Neale’s masterful narration describing how the events unfolded. Add smooth gameplay and the thrilling wail of inline-fours to that equation, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for pure bliss!
Regardless of the mixed feedback MotoGP 22 has received thus far, this nostalgia-rousing element really sets it apart from older iterations. Most players seem to agree that it’s an enthralling experience, and I’m personally hoping to see Milestone deliver more like it in the future. Besides the single-player game types, one may also join online lobbies to race against other people or bring some friends over and engage in good old split-screen duels.
Menus are way tidier than the cluttered mess we saw in earlier releases, with the main background showing bikes from different teams every time you fire things up. Not that it’s such a huge deal, but it definitely is yet another step in the right direction for this franchise. Although there isn’t much of a soundtrack to talk about here, the music you will be hearing doesn’t become irritating after a few minutes or so, which is much appreciated.
Conclusion : Folks may call MotoGP 22 a reskin all they like, but what they need to understand is that developers can’t afford to stray too far from the established formula on yearly sports titles. Just look at the incremental manner in which EA Sports’ series is progressing, and you’ll immediately see what I’m trying to convey. With this being said, it’s time to answer the pivotal question: is the game worth your hard-earned cash?
Priced at 50 bucks on Steam, Milestone’s latest Grand Prix sim packs just the right amount of novel content to be categorized as money well spent. The brilliantly-executed Nine: Season 2009 affair is heavily responsible for this, though it’s far from being the only thing that makes the new MotoGP stand out. With its (optional) welcoming attitude towards beginners and subtle yet effective refinements, I’d say this installment is totally worth checking out.

Tomorrow’s Outcomes Hinge on Today’s Actions
In contrast to the last century, ‘Roaring’ is not likely to be how the current ‘20s are remembered. The Jazz Age’s nostalgic “carefree” stereotype offers little similarity to the present. Amidst all the uncertainty, one thing is clear: politics are everywhere, like it or not. With all this in mind, big issues are on the table that are ripe with controversy. Decisions on electric vehicles (EVs), automotive fuel supply, and one’s own ‘right to modify’ will make a direct impact on our community and the final results are likely to be consequential.
With so much at stake, enthusiast participation in the political process is crucial—but not difficult. Nearly 7,000 state and federal elected positions are up for grabs in November. Notably, 84% of all state lawmakers will be in the running—marking their first race since redistricting has shifted constituencies. Party control of the U.S. Congress and state legislatures will be determined in the upcoming elections.
Use the voting tool at semaSAN.com/semavotes to register to vote and learn the deadlines for where you live.
In advance, find out if your state and federal representatives are affiliated with the hobby-friendly, SEMA-supported caucuses at semaSAN.com/statecaucus and semaSAN.com/federalcaucus.
You can locate your elected officials at semaSAN.com under the “Legislators” tab.
Ready to influence our nation’s public policy roadmap going forward? Good news: the ballot box awaits! This year, head to your polling place with renewed purpose. Learn where your candidates are on issues important to you. Then ensure your voice is heard via your vote. No better way to weigh-in and make sure this important opportunity counts. Take care of fulfilling your civic duty just like your prized ride—with pride in ownership!

Arizona Senator Rallies for Passage of the RPM Act
By Wayfarer |
“The RPM Act will help provide certainty to Arizona’s amateur racers and auto mechanics from EPA regulations, which could harm their ability to enjoy the hobby of motorsport.” As a former astronaut (four missions into space) and naval aviator who flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, Sen. Kelly understands the passion of racers and the adrenaline associated with speed lovers.
He is also amongst the 31 Senate co-sponsors of the RPM Act, fellow federal lawmakers and candidates running for re-election in 2022.
The 2022 election season is now in high gear. For information on voting in November’s elections (including absentee and early voting), to find your polling place, identifying your lawmakers and the candidates running in 2022, use the link Click Here.

TOKYO, Japan, October 25, 2022 – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that it has begun sales of the Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: battery swapping station in Japan, with the first unit delivered to Gachaco Inc., a battery sharing service joint venture. Gachaco today began operation of the first mass-production model of the Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: in Japan.
Honda Power Pack Exchanger e:
Product website: https://www.honda.co.jp/mobilepowerpack/exchanger (Japanese)
Honda is striving to realize carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities Honda is involved in by 2050. Electrification of mobility products, which is indispensable to achieve this goal, has three challenges that need to be addressed: short range, long charging time and high battery cost. By addressing such challenges with swappable batteries and their sharing service, Honda is striving to contribute to the acceleration of electrification and expansion of the use of renewable energy.
Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: is a battery swapping station that simultaneously charges multiple units of Honda Mobile Power Pack e: (MPP e:) and enables smooth battery swapping for users of electric motorcycles and other mobile products equipped with MPP e:. The users will have access to fully-charged MPP e: whenever needed at battery swapping stations in the city, which enables efficient use of electrified mobility products without waiting for the batteries to get charged.
Developed as a battery infrastructure which can achieve widespread use inside and outside of Japan, Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: features an exterior design that blends in well with the cityscape and adopts the Honda Power Pack Cloud system that centrally manages all information necessary for a battery sharing service operation in the cloud. Moreover, Honda pursued the convenience and user-friendliness for both battery sharing service businesses and the users of electrified mobility products.
In India, through its local subsidiary, Honda Power Pack Energy India Pvt. Ltd. (HEID), Honda has already started a battery sharing service for electric tricycle taxis (“rickshaws”), using Honda Power Pack Exchanger e:.
By offering the products and operating system for customers who are interested in battery sharing, Honda will continue supporting electrification of their mobility products and contributing to the realization of a low-carbon society.

Key features of Honda Power Pack Exchanger e:
Simple and smooth battery swapping:
Both the higher and lower slots are designed to have an angle that makes it easy to insert or remove the battery.
The Exchanger automatically begins charging when the battery is put in the slot.
To swap batteries, the user taps the panel on the upper part of the Exchanger with their IC card (integrated circuit card or smart card) for user authentication, ensuring a high level of security.
Based on the user’s mobility product information (such as the number of batteries, and other conditions such as a series or parallel connection of batteries) associated with the preregistered user ID, the Exchanger determines and lets the user know which fully-charged batteries are appropriate for the user via LED display, which enables smooth swapping.
Ease of use, ease of maintenance and ease of management:
All information necessary for the operation of the battery sharing service, such as the charge status of each of battery at the station, information on battery availability and the operational status of the station, is consolidated and managed centrally by the Honda Power Pack Cloud system.
The users can complete the entire process, from user registration to finding stations, swapping the batteries and making payments, through the same system. In addition, using a smartphone, the users can search real-time information about batteries available for renting, which contributes to smooth battery swapping.
The battery sharing businesses can manage and operate their service efficiently by managing the status of their stations and batteries centrally in the cloud.
The Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: features a structure that makes it possible to perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks with easy access from the front.
The Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: is equipped with a battery cooling function to suppress the heat-induced degradation of batteries.
Multiple units can be connected and installed as one station:
To increase the number of batteries the station can manage and operate simultaneously, multiple units of Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: (“extension unit”) can be connected per one main unit (“control unit”) of the Honda Power Pack Exchanger e:, offering flexibility to accommodate the needs of the users and operators of the battery swapping station.
Enabling battery swapping even during a power outage:
In case the power supply to the Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: is interrupted due to a power outage or any other reason, the Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: will continue renting batteries to users while drawing power from the pre-charged MPP e: in one of the slots.
Design that blends in with the cityscape:
Anticipating installation in various locations throughout the city, Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: was designed with the main concept of “blending into public spaces,” realizing an unimposing cabinet design that looks like one unit even when multiple units are connected.
Kile Leads AHDRA Winners at Fabulous North Florida
By Wayfarer |
event: AHDRA Coca-Cola Southeastern Thunder Nationals
when: October 21-23, 2022
where: North Florida Motorplex, Fountain, FL, USA
North Florida Motorplex is an all-concrete, drag racing gem set in the Panhandle’s sandy plains. The Kurt Johnson/Total Venue Concepts-ground eighth mile is baby’s bottom smooth, with a shutdown area smoother than many race tracks.
Open air party decks sit atop grandstands on both sides of the track. For AHDRA’s Coca-Cola Southeastern Thunder Nationals, local Coca-Cola guests and executives were able to marvel at their first view of flame-throwing Top Fuel Harleys. In between rounds and passes, they were able to keep up with college football while enjoying shade, a cool breeze, a BBQ buffet, beers and Coke products. A sportsman’s paradise.
The mix of this fine, refurbished facility and AHDRA All-American motorcycle drag racing made for a great weekend on October 21-23, and no one took better advantage of what the weekend had to offer than Top Fuel racer Tracy Kile. “Loved everything about the track,” said Kile. “It’s set up to have fun and run well. It’s really awesome when you go to a place that welcomes racers with open arms.”

Kile took the Top Fuel final against Cecil County Nitro Funnybike winner Armon Furr, who blew up his big motor early in the weekend.
Kile’s main challenge at North Florida was racing without the feedback he’s gotten used to from his dashboard. “My dash quit working,” said Kile. “I thought that I had two good ones with me and neither one of them worked. Once you get used to that shit, it’s hard. I was flying blind, so that’s probably why it slowed down a bit on raceday. But stuff’s been working and it’s a helluva lot more fun when you’re winning and everything stays in one piece.
“Winning don’t suck. I asked (Mike) Romine years ago if winning ever got old. He said ‘No’ and I have to agree.
“I wanna thank Josh Peake and the owners at the track, and Coca-Cola. Josh really busted his ass all weekend. I couldn’t get it done without Mary (“Bad Ass Mary” Dangrow), and thanks to the Bad Apple Nation for years of continued support. Thanks to Chopper and AHDRA for giving us a place to race.”
Trying for his third straight win, Kile’s Bad Apple Racing teammate “Jimmy Mac” McMillan struggled from the very first moment. His weekend ended when he torched the back cylinder in Q3.
Jim “Bad Influence” Martin took a close Hawaya Racing Pro Fuel win over Cecil County winner Sam White. Sam had an .071 to .087 starting line advantage, but steady Jim drove around for the 4.62 to 4.75 win.
“We came to the race with two nitro motorcycles, which everyone knows is insane,” said Martin, who also races Top Fuel. “We managed to get both on down the track and qualify with both of them. But my old steady here was able to go clear to the finishline and pull off a win.
“I wanna thank Hawaya Racing. Johnny Vickers has helped me many, many times with both bikes. I got to thank my crew chief, Guy Glover. Got to thank my brother and his friends that helped me at his race shop in Palatine, Illinois. And of course Joey Woolsey. He’s my other crew chief when Guy can’t show up. Without that nucleus of people, I couldn’t manage this.”
Louisiana racer Scott Tomsu’s winning summer continued, taking Street Dresser and V-Twin Powersports Hot Rod Bagger wins against Tim Whitehead and Super Stock against Streetking Dirty Wade.
“My bike was very fast off the trailer and the track was perfect,” said Tomsu. “Just a great weekend of racing.
“I want to thank my sponsors STFU Motorcycles, Ward Performance, Stanley Gardner, CP-Carrillo, Lyndall Brakes, and Cometic Gasket.”
Atlanta legend Reggie “Hamma” Elliott took the Horsepower Inc. Pro Outlaw Bagger wins. “Great time with a bunch of great people,”said Hamma. “Not to mention a superb facility. Looking forward to (racing here again) next year!”
Dwayne Gee’s turbo bagger was ridden to the MTC Pro Comp Outlaw wins by Khole Sellers, setting both ends of the AHDRA eighth mile record with a 5.49 at 133 mph.
“I would like to give a thanks to Streetking Racing,” said Sellers. “It was a great track and the personal were outstanding.
“Special thanks to Dwayne Gee, Hamma Ville, and David Gray for helping keep the bike together and making it possible for our team to take the win.”
Pennsylvania-turned-Florida racer Scott Schenkel won Pingel Modified
Bradley Croneberger and his son made the long trip from Pennsylvania pay, with Bradley Sr. winning Universal Fleet & Tire 7.00 and 7.35 index, and Junior winning Junior Dragbike. Senior qualified number one in both classes.
Croneberger’s .017 light set the stage for his 7.35 final round win against Chris Ussery and his .088. Ussery ran closer to the index with a 7.41, but Croneberger’s 7.43 was good enough.
The lights in the 7.35 final were very sharp and very close, with Croneberger’s .011 gaining a scant .001 against Cody Hayworth. Both riders broke out—Croneberger with a winning 6.99 and Hayworth with a 6.97.
The father/son Road R.A.S.H. Racing duo of Todd Hayworth and 7.90 runner-up Cody won Vreeland’s Harley-Davidson Super Gas 6.35 and 6.60 index, respectively. This is the first time they have doubled up.
Todd’s final round win against Manny Gassman was a double breakout, with #1 qualifier Hayworth’s .128/6.30 scoring against Gassman’s .150/6.28. “It’s hard to get slowed down n the eighth mile!” said Todd, who thanked Knowbody’s Sheetwerks and his wife Pam.
Reaction times were much better in Cody’s final against Manny “Taco” Carrasquillo, with Hayworth taking the tree with an .010 versus Taco’s .054. Cody’s 6.69 was also closer to the 6.60 number than Taco’s 6.70.
“Look forward to returning to North Florida Motorplex next year,” said Cody. “Thanks to my sponsor Wire & Cable Your Way, my wife Nena, and my parents.”
Neither Saturday Eliminator winner Chris Ussery or runner-up Joe Abner will want to brag about their reaction times. Ussery’s .244 had the advantage against Abner’s .300, and Ussery’s 7.41 was much closer to his 7.40 dial-in than Abner’s 8.37 on an 8.30. Ussery also qualified number one and runner-upped in 11.50 index.
“I want to thank the man upstairs for everything I have and do daily!” said Ussery. “Twitches Stitches, Swamp Fox Racing, Fast Action racing team and Eatmyink—thank you for all you do for Bulldog Racing!
“We have a nice lead on points and hopefully we can capitalize on the last two races and maintain that lead. We are also in the top three in the 11.50 index.”
Despite wild wheelies on his short wheelbase Buell streetbike, Racin’ Ray Robinson won Sunday’s Eliminator class. He beat David Gray in the final, his .093 light giving him time to eat a bagel before Gray left with a .412. Robinson ran 7.97 on his 7.57 dial, while Gray ran 8.03 on a 7.75.
“If it wasn’t for Big Train and Universal Fleet & Tire crew, and the motorcycle club I’m in, those wheelies (and the win) would have never happened,” said Robinson. “But that bike’s like a bucking bronco—you just gotta hold tight with a iron fist!”
Robinson might also have won Sunday’s Trophy class, had he not run up against his teammate— Saturday Eliminator runner-up Joe Abner. Joe took the tree on his bagger with an .074 to Ray’s .085, then ran an 8.34 on his 8.30 dial vs. Robinson’s breakout 7.70 on his 7.77.
“It was a great weekend at a great track,” said Abner. “Thank you to Universal Fleet & Tire Racing and Fast Co. for all their support and help to get me here and help me do well. It takes a village and we are one awesome village—from the kids cheering us on, all the mechanics, and the ladies in the pits.”
After the awesome debut of this brand new stop on the circuit, AHDRA looks forward to returning to Florida for the World Finals at legendary Gainesville Raceway on November 11-23. Bill and Chrissy Rowe look forward to welcoming the AHDRA family to Gainesville

CHOPPER TIME BIKETOBERFEST 2022
By Bikernet Contributor Rogue |
It has more classes than I can remember, but there is no shortage of motorcycles in each class.
There were also a couple of Indian motorcycles that came from Australia to compete in the Sons Of Speed Race. Sadly, the race had to be cancelled because of a hurricane.
While the motorcycles on display are all great, Roadside Marty the MC is always a hit with the mic.
Numerous Motorcycle Publications show up to cover the action.
And a band rocked the joint, plus plenty of adult beverages, food, vendors and of course wild folks making new friends.
To top things off the profits go to help veterans. Bikers have all kinds of events and functions to help our veterans because the Federal Government is Not Doing A Good Job of it. Fundraisers like this make all the difference in the world to our Veterans.

Pre-Scary Halloween Bikernet Weekly News for October 27, 2022
By Wayfarer |
Hey,
Hang on, the news is full of surprises. I’ve talked to industry leaders and plenty of voices from the past this week. We mentioned the Mystery Sled published in ER in the ‘70s. It was photographed for the feature by Jake.
Getting ready to kick off my next build with those cast iron levers as the controls and pegs. The antique foot warmer for an oil bag and Irish Rich already set up the old Peanut tank on the VL frame. Hang on for the first report.
I spoke to the factory this week about the history and design of gas tanks. Hang on for that story and it’s almost Halloween, so let’s hit the news.
In the meantime Ride Fast and Free Forever.
