      The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame is pleased to be the new home for an all wooden motorcycle built by wood artist Mike Sohn of Hannibal, Missouri.  The bike, which is modeled after a 1909 Harley-Davidson Twin took a year and a half to complete.  The artist estimates there are at least nine different kinds of wood in the creation.   http://www.bikernet.com/pages/Sturgis_Museum_gets_a_Woodie.aspx

  It’s difficult to display Muni-Meter receipts on motorcycles because they are stollen or blown away, bike enthusiasts Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. (D-Astoria) and Assemblyman Michael Den Dekker (D-Jackson Heights) say, which leads to countless unfair parking tickets. Vallone has introduced legislation in the council and DenDekker in the the state Assembly to allow bikes to park free at Muni Meters — though they still will pay at conventional ones. Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® Factory Team rider Kenny Coolbeth closed out the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Insurance Grand National Championship season with a flag-to-flag win at the AMA Pro Flat Track Finals on the Los Angeles County Fairplex half-mile. It was the second win of the season for Coolbeth. Rogers Racing/Blue Springs Harley-Davidson rider Jared Mees finished eighth and claimed his first AMA Grand National championship. Coolbeth and his Harley-Davidson XR750 were fast all night at Pomona, winning a heat race and then leading each of the 25 laps in the main event. Coolbeth finished 8.560 seconds ahead of Dodge Brothers/Perry’s Harley-Davidson rider Brad Baker. Crosley Radio Kawasaki rider Bryan Smith finished third, just 0.144 seconds behind Baker.
