Saliva Set to Rock the Broken Spoke Saloon’s Biketoberfest® in Daytona

The Broken Spoke Saloon announces a free admission concert featuring Saliva on Friday, October 19. Saliva now features Jacksonville, Florida native Bobby Amaru on lead vocals and are working on a brand new album featuring the band’s new lineup. In 2011, the Broken Spoke Saloon had announced Saliva as part of Biketoberfest®, but due to unforeseen circumstances at the time plans changed. But, the Broken Spoke Saloon keeps our promises and are proud to host Saliva for Biketoberfest® 2012. The Broken Spoke Saloon’s Biketoberfest® events will take place October 18-21. Also rockin’ the Broken Spoke Saloon stage will be Jasmine Cain, Farrell Webber Band and more. The Broken Spoke Saloon is located at 1151 North U.S. Highway 1 in Ormond Beach. Valerie Thompson To Compete at Ohio's Throttle Nation Challenge

  Valerie Thompson, owner/driver of Valerie Thompson Racing (VTR), will return to Southern Ohio to attempt breaking her own land speed record of 197.46 mph in the PP-1000 Production motorcycle class posted earlier this year at the East Coast Timing Association’s (ECTA) Ohio Mile event at Airborne Park in Wilmington Ohio during the Throttle Nation Top Speed Challenge event September 29 -30.   “We are looking forward to returning to Wilmington for the “Throttle Nation Top Speed Challenge’ with the goal of breaking our own record of 197.46 mph set during the Ohio Mile event held here in June,” said Thompson. “Setting new records in Ohio means a great deal to me since it is the home state of two of my loyal sponsors, CTEK Battery Chargers and JEGS, in addition to being headquarters of the American Motorcycle Association,” added Thompson. Thompson’s Martech Services Company sponsored S1000 RR Superbike, is reportedly the world’s fastest production land speed BMW motorcycle after recording a top speed of 209.5 mph on a 1.5-mile race course at the Mojave Magnum competition earlier this year. “Wilmington has become one of my favorite racing venues due to their excellent track surface and the quality of service provided by all the ECTA volunteers who make it possible for us to race safely. I’ve also become a big fan of Graeter’s Ice Cream and Cincinnati style chili, so all of us on the team love returning to Ohio for this event,” said Thompson. The Clear Choice For Open Belt Drive

Over the past gazillion years, I have constantly been asked by customers from all walks of life (and almost living) to come up with a belt guard that covers the belt and moving stuff, but where they still can see that they have an open belt drive. As we all know, open belt drives are way cool, but can also be a bit dangerous to bell bottom jeans and long scarves. Well, the engineers at RPI (Rivera Primo Inc.) for many years have been pouring over technical manuals, going to plastics seminars (what fun), studying star charts and generally sitting in our conference room with a doobie and a bottle of torpedoe red trying to come up with such a thing as an invisible force field for an open belt drive. And guess what? We done did it! Well, not the forcefield thingy, but we created a polycarbonate, optically clear, UV-resistant, shatter-resistant outer guard for most open belt drives. The TransparaGuard does what we were asked for, it protects you fully from the moving parts, but allows everyone to see that you indeed run an Open Belt Drive. Its a beautiful thing, and whats more, you can paint, machine, engrave or just stare at the TransparaGuard™ anytime you like.
