A recent addition to the PRIMO BELT DRIVES line-up is a ultra narrow open belt drive designed for 1990-2006 Evo & Twin Cam Softails®. This 11mm kit features a 1-3/4" wide "dense pack" Kevlar Polychain® Super Belt. This combination has been tested to withstand horsepower loads in excess of 150 H.P.  The SLIMLINE™ belt drive uses a ONE-PIECE MOTOR PLATE which helps to add rigidity to the frame by firmly connecting the motor and transmission together. The two kits are available with either a  billet aluminum outer guard that covers the outer pulleys or a faux carbon fiber outer guard that fully covers the belt and pulleys for added safety & pleasing aesthetics. In addition, the motorplate is  machined for a center mount oil filter & also ready to accept our optional MID-CONTROLS (part # 2084-0504) which are single fulcrum and include both the shift & brake assemblies with  a designer master cylinder.  Having the Pro Clutch™ as part of the kit which is able to transfer all the power your motor makes to the road is a must. James Toseland to spearhead UK motorcycle land speed record attempt

  Two-time World Superbike champion James Toseland will spearhead a British attempt to break the motorcycle land speed record. Toseland, 32, is set to make the record attempt in September 2014 at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA. The current record stands at 376.363mph, set by American Rocky Robinson and ratified by the Federation International de Motocyclisme. The project is being led by Alex Macfadzean, a former GP and TT sidecar competitor and the current British motorcycle land speed record holder, with support from staff and students at Derby University.   Long before he was a perpetual presidential candidate, Ralph Nader forever changed the automobile industry. In his 1965 book, “Unsafe At Any Speed,” Nader accused U.S. manufacturers of putting profits before public safety, detailing their resistance to seat belts and other features with the potential to save lives. The book raised public awareness and, along with concerns over rising highway fatalities, pressured lawmakers to adopt the 1966 National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, which empowered the federal government to administer new safety standards for automobiles. As a result, driving a car today is arguably safer than it has ever been. But the safety movement has largely bypassed motorcycles, which is why Sgt. Steve Spink – who spent years studying motorcycle crash data in the traffic services section of the Michigan State Police – wishes there was a Ralph Nader for the motorcycle industry.
