Indian Motorcycle Celebrates The Scout's Heritage With A Series Of Custom Jobs

Indian Motorcycle just launched the Scout Inspired Custom Series; a chronology of the rich, century-long history of the Indian Scout motorcycle. Throughout 2015, Indian Motorcycle will unveil a series of custom Indian Scouts designed and crafted by some of America’s leading custom bike builders — each designed to celebrate an important Indian Scout milestone or achievement since its debut in 1920. Each of the custom Scouts will be accompanied by vignettes to share the legacy of the Indian Scout. To kick-off the series, Indian Motorcycle today launched the Custom Military Scout in a vignette narrated by Mark Wahlberg. The Custom Military Scout is a tribute to the company’s nearly 100-year history of supporting the U.S. Military and to celebrate Indian Motorcycle’s partnership with USO. The Custom Military Scout was designed and built by world-renowned custom builder Klock Werks Kustom Cycles of Mitchell, South Dakota. “Klock Werks Kustom Cycles is honored to partner with Indian Motorcycle on a project that pays tribute to the USO and their outstanding work on behalf of the dedicated men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces,” said Brian Klock, founder of Klock Werks. “Indian Motorcycle has a long and impressive legacy of supporting the U.S. Military dating back to WWI and all of us at Klock Werks are humbled to play a role in this important and historic endeavor.” The Custom Military Scout is built on the award-winning 2015 Indian Scout platform, sporting a matte green paint indicative of a vintage military bike that was perfectly applied by Brad Smith of The Factory Match. It utilizes taillights that are modern street legal reproductions on a custom bracket to mimic the original military-style lights. The Custom Military Scout features Genuine Indian Motorcycle Accessory leather saddlebags, a Klock Werks “Klassic” seat kit and leather wraps for the base of […]

Mustang ThrowBack Looks Back To 1980 For ’04-Up Sportster Seats

Mustang is celebrating their 35th anniversary of comfort and innovation by bringing back a look from yesteryear — or, at least, from 1980 when Mustang was founded. The “new” ThrowBack™ style seat fits all 2004-up Sportsters. The Sportster line has been in continuous production in one form or another since 1957, which makes it the perfect platform to bring back the ThrowBack-style seat with its characteristic sissy bar and distinctive top cover with buttons. “This seat will make you nostalgic for fifty-cent burgers and dollar-a-gallon gasoline,” says Mustang Seats Business Development Director Marilyn Simmons. “While we can’t do anything about gas prices, we can bring back the classic styling of an earlier era.” Don’t let the look fool you, though. Mustang used all their 21st Century seat-building techniques to bring this old style forward into the present. Technological updates include Mustang’s proprietary foam formula and durable steel-reinforced, marine-grade fiberglass baseplates. “It is still what is on the inside that counts in terms of comfort, but this seat stands apart visually as well,” adds Simmons. “The 10” wide driver area and 6.5” wide passenger seat feature the handcrafted look you’ve come to expect from Mustang, finished off with an intricate diamond-stitched pattern and covered buttons.” With a retro price tag of only $409 suggested retail, you can easily ride into the sunset and beyond on Mustang’s ThrowBack™ for 2004-up Sportster models! Mustang Seats Part #75126 – One-piece ThrowBack™ In addition to the new ThrowBack™ for Sportsters, Mustang also offers replacement seats for virtually all late model Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. How would you like a free seat for your bike or trike? Mustang’s customer GIVEAWAYS program kicked-off during Bike Week in Daytona and the next winner will be announced at Laconia Bike Week. Opinion — Further Making The Case For Motorcycle Lane-Splitting

From Europe (where lane-splitting is universally legal) to California (where lane-splitting is also clearly legal — the fact that it’s not discussed in the California code is irrelevant; there’s no California law allowing you to eat pizza either), all of the evidence available regarding lane-splitting supports that it is safe.
