A visit to one of Japan’s motorcycle Shitno shrine

You don’t have to be a motorcycle enthusiast to visit here, but it helps from https://soranews24.com There are tens of thousands of Shinto shrines all over Japan and they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. They also have a plethora of individual themes that visitors may want to visit for highly specific prayers such as scoring primo idol tickets or breaking up with a significant other. For example, did you know that there are 17 motorcycles shrines that have been sanctioned by the Japan Motorcycle Association? Our reporter Mr. Sato sure didn’t and decided to check one out when he learned of them…which is strange because he’s never ridden a motorcycle in his life. In fact, Mr. Sato is what’s known as a “paper driver” in Japan, which refers to a person who though licensed almost never gets behind a wheel. The irony in this is that even though paper drivers have almost no experience or confidence driving, they end up with pristine records and gold-class licenses identifying them as model drivers. And so, Mr. Sato got his motor running aboard a train and then headed out on the highway via a bus and finally went looking for adventure in whatever came his way on foot. And what came his way was the entrance to the Kashiwa no Mori Motorcycle Shrine, which was established on the property of BDS Co. Ltd., a company specializing in motorcycle auctions in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture. Upon entering the shrine precincts Mr. Sato saw four torii gates lined up in a row, dividing the shrine into four separate mini shrines. This was an unusual configuration so our reporter felt like he was in store for some special mojo on this shrine visit. Beyond the first torii was a shrine dedicated to Motomu, […]

From the streets – 2022 Sturgis Rally Report

by Bandit with photos from the Redhead and Wrench This is going to be good, like the party of parties. I’ll stay between the white lines as I attempt to cover the rally and my first wild experience after relocating to the Black Hills and available for action every day. Constant hum of action prevailed daily, with the rumble of V-twins, non-stop shows, concerts, celebrations, parties and jamming bars are just the tip of the chromed mountain leading up to the rally. Last year, my shop wasn’t complete, and I was attacked by the deadly Covid virus. I found myself locked down in my basement dungeon. Only semi-prepared this year, the rally kept coming like it or not. Ride to the Moon: Motorcycle Adventures in Argentina

Behind the scenes in Argentina: Ride to the Moon Argentina: vast open spaces, salt flats, lunar landscapes and Andean peaks towering over 4,500 m altitude. You’ve been asking us about it since our very first tour across the Himalayas back in 2006: “Since the Himalayas, I can’t stop thinking about Argentina. When will you take us there, Vintage Rides?” Expectations are running high for this legendary destination. So, challenge accepted! 😉 Alexane and Simon: the dream team During the summer of 2021, Simon suggested entering into partnership and opening a Vintage Rides office in the heart of the Andes. “I have been riding here for more than 10 years and know the region like the back of my hand. I have hundreds of unexplored tracks under my belt, ready to design new tours. I knew it was time for me to set something up”. A friendly, enthusiastic biker, he is smitten with his adoptive country and its culture and shares many common values with us. We speak the same language. So we decided to take him up on his offer and set up Vintage Rides Argentina together with the headquarters in Salta, in the north of the country. At the mercy of nature, which reigns supreme, the tracks are constantly changing. While the borders were closed, Simon had all the time in the world to do what he loves most: criss-cross the tracks, try out all the roads and uncover the best places, which you won’t find on Google maps – believe us, we’ve tried! From the Lyon office, Alexane is on hand to help get the joint venture up and running. She’s been thrown in at the deep end: she’s only just joined us at Vintage Rides and she’s opening a new office in Argentina! That’s a big adventure

Vance & Hines Launches New VO2 Falcon 90-Degree Air Intake

Aggressive style, industry leading performance for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles NOTE: The new VO2 Falcon and recently announced FP4 are available to consumers at Vance & Hines’ two locations(Daytona Harley-Davidson and Daytona International Speedway) at Bike Week in Daytona Beach. Santa Fe Springs CA – March 4, 2022 – Vance & Hines today introduced the newest addition to its expanding lineup of air intake products with the announcement of the VO2 Falcon, a 90-degree, high performance intake system with fitments for most late-model Harley-Davidson models. With motorcycle customizing trends moving toward an intense, performance-focused look, the VO2 Falcon gives bike owners the aggressive style they seek and four different finishes to make it special. The VO2 Falcon is a cut above other 90-degree intakes with its attention to detail. From its slant-nosed oversized filter for higher volume air flow to its precision machined billet aluminum mounting and integrated breather assembly, it looks like it belongs on a rider’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The system comes in four finishes, show-quality chrome, ceramic matte black, and two eye-catching carbon fiber choices; high-gloss traditional weaved carbon and matte, forged carbon, a compound originally developed for use in high performance sports cars and is making its first appearance in the V-Twin world. The VO2 Falcon isn’t just for style. The shape of the unit extends the air intake track, allowing the VO2 Falcon to outperform the leading 90-degree units on the market for both horsepower and torque. “Air intake systems are our fastest growing product line,” said Vance & Hines President Kennedy. ” They offer customers a chance to personalize the look of their bike and are the start of creating that high performance motorcycle that we all love to ride. The VO2 Falcon makes a strong statement about what’s inside the heart of the bike and the

Alt-Rock Cruisers: BMW targets American brand’s market

by Jack Baruth from Hagerty.com BMW R18 meets Indian Challenger and Harley Heritage Classic The slightly ridiculous 1800cc, two-cylinder, leather-saddlebag, CHiPs-windshielded cruiser I’m trying to force through six stopped lanes of Los Angeles traffic can’t be taken as anything but an admission on the part of the Bayerische Motoren Werke that Harley-Davidson knows a) what boys like; b) what men want … in America, anyway. Product Review: Packing for Daytona

Or Anywhere Else! By Rogue I recently had a lady friend discuss going on a trip with me and of course the issue of how much clothes and stuff she could bring came up. I do have a bagger with a tour pack but it is full of camera equipment and the saddlebags are packed solid as well. I went shopping and ended up with a Harley Davidson ONYX Touring Bag #93300013. Ride Review: Harley-Davidson Touring ST Models for 2022

by Dustin Wheelen from https://www.rideapart.com/ Balancing the raceway and the roadway. Automotive and motorcycle dealers popularized the term “Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday” in the 1960s. While both motorsport and vehicle sales tactics have evolved over the decades, most manufacturers still leverage on-track supremacy for showroom success—including Harley-Davidson. From the hillclimb to the drag strip, from board tracking to flat tracking, racing has been in the Motor Company’s DNA since Walter Davidson won the 1908 Endurance and Reliability Run. However, Harley’s Post-War production lineup made the brand synonymous with cross-country tourers in the latter half of the 20th century. Despite the XR750 becoming the winningest motorcycle in AMA (American Motorcycle Association) history and the company’s countless NHRA drag racing titles, the FL Touring platform remains the Bar and Shield’s top seller. When MotoAmerica introduced the King of the Baggers (KotB) Invitational in 2020, the one-off race merged Harley’s flagship tourers with its racing lineage. Unfortunately, the MoCo’s first outing fell short of the top step, but the Screamin’ Eagle Harley-Davidson team seized the 2021 KotB championship with Kyle Wyman in the saddle. H-D is wasting no time—or development dollar—following that title run, equipping the 2022 Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST with track-worthy components. To test just how much race-bred technology has trickled down to its production models, the Motor Company invited us to Wilcox, Arizona to spin some laps around the inimitable Inde Motorsports Ranch. Harley certainly handled business on Sundays this previous season, and with the new ST range, it hopes to also dominate the competition on dealership floors. Turning A Corner With the U.S.’s interstate system crossing vast expanses of land, the Street Glide and Road Glide families prioritize comfort and convenience. Packing a six-gallon fuel tank, sub-27-inch seat heights, and a 64-inch wheelbase, the
