Screamin’ Eagle/Öhlins Remote Reservoir Rear Shocks

By General Posts No Comments

by Misled

When I saw Harley Davidson release these rear performance shocks for Touring models, I couldn’t wait to try them.

These high-performance nitrogen over oil shocks were designed with Öhlins specifically for Screamin’ Eagle Factory Team race bikes. They are monotube design with a remote reservoir that are completely adjustable to match a riding style using an adjustable preload spring to set sag and fine tune adjustments for compression at the reservoir and rebound at the bottom of the shock.

Grand Road Trip of Graeme Lowen

By General Posts No Comments

Excerpts of Travelogue, Riding in the USA

Graeme explores the States as changing roads and places bring new adventures in differing weather, and happy company.

Text and Photos by Graeme Lowen

After last night’s fiasco trying to find camera and getting back to the motel, I did some more work with google and found a Walmart only 10 miles or so away that sells cameras.

The stop at the gas station and its method of pre-pay was quite a novel experience. I was instructed by the young female assistant to put the cash into the machine , as much as I needed, hit enter and out came a receipt for the amount as well as a code number. I went out and filled the bike up and went back to get my change.

BMW R18 Roctane 2024: Touring with hot-rod styling

By General Posts

with inputs from www.bmwmotorcycles.com

Appearance: Bagger.
Comfort: touring motorcycle.
Personality: custom factory hot rod.

It is driven by the powerful big boxer engine. Ride it and every country road turns into Route 66. Its style is black and matte – that’s what joy can look like. At least for those who bring #SoulFuel to life. Bagger outline, dragster seat and mini ape-hanger demonstrate that this is not an ordinary bike.

Want even more rock ‘n’ roll? The bike is ready for customizing. All you need to do is own it!

Character: independent
This extroverted bike does not conform. It stands out despite its dark colors. Or precisely because of them. The three versions emphasize its different facets. You like doing your own thing? Take it to another level with customizing.

More than a bike – your statement
The iconic front with round LED headlight and 21-inch cast aluminum wheel leads the way towards the horizon. You casually grip the mini ape-hanger and rest your feet on the standard footboards, while the dragster seat gives you support on long tours. The elongated bagger outline flows straight to the stylish rear end, featuring hard-shell cases. This bike is an eye-catcher. Unmistakable: the unique boxer sound from the striking, dark chrome rear exhaust.

Your bike, your rules
Lend the R 18 Roctane your unique character. We offer a range of optional accessories, such as the Filler Panels or the Machined series by Roland Sands Design. A single seat is available for solo riders. Take customizing even further. There are no limits to your ideas.

Everything under your control
Numerous assistance systems make sure that you always have your bike under control. These include Automatic Stability Control (ASC), engine drag torque control (MSR) as well as optional Hill Start Control and reverse. Your three riding modes for more control and riding pleasure are Rock, Roll and Rain. And thanks to optimum seating ergonomics and plenty of storage space you won’t have to do without the comfort you are used to on long tours.

3 year warranty
Ride on & on & on. Get up to 3-years or 36,000 miles warranty on all new motorcycles.

Engine Guard Foot Pegs for H-D Tourers

By General Posts

by Rogue
Comfort On Long Distance Bike Rides

Though my 2022 Harley Ultra Limited is a very comfortable motorcycle, past experience has taught me that being able to change my position from time to time is definitely important.

I have used this same set up for over 100,000 miles and it was an easy decision to put them on this motorcycle.

Stretch out for added comfort. This Adjustable Highway Peg Mounting Kit can be set for shorter riders, and it can be reversed to reach far forward for those with long legs.

• 5-inch angled peg mounting kit in gloss black finish

• Angled design allows the arm to reach back and around to clear fairing lowers

• Arm can be raised and lowered for a custom fit

• Mounting clamp firmly grips the engine guard, and the locking design secures the peg at the desired angle

Saddlebag Guard Rail Kit

by Rogue

Protecting your Harley-Davidson 2022 Saddlebags.

I for one like saddlebag guards on my motorcycle. I recently got a 2022 Harley Ultra Limited and it did not have side guards on the bags as standard equipment.

I decided to rectify that by installing Harley’s kit Part Number 90201902.

These Guards surround and protect the lower portion while providing a traditional look for Touring Motorcycles.

by Rogue, Dale, Christy

“This event has a big turn out and has for as long as I can remember. I never miss it, and it appears many others feel the same way.

Wille from Tropical Tattoo, some sponsors and a lot of volunteers come together to present this great bike show twice a year.

While the motorcycles on display are all great, Roadside Marty the MC is always a hit with the mic.”

A visit to one of Japan’s motorcycle Shitno shrine

By General Posts

You don’t have to be a motorcycle enthusiast to visit here, but it helps
from https://soranews24.com

There are tens of thousands of Shinto shrines all over Japan and they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. They also have a plethora of individual themes that visitors may want to visit for highly specific prayers such as scoring primo idol tickets or breaking up with a significant other.

For example, did you know that there are 17 motorcycles shrines that have been sanctioned by the Japan Motorcycle Association? Our reporter Mr. Sato sure didn’t and decided to check one out when he learned of them…which is strange because he’s never ridden a motorcycle in his life.

In fact, Mr. Sato is what’s known as a “paper driver” in Japan, which refers to a person who though licensed almost never gets behind a wheel. The irony in this is that even though paper drivers have almost no experience or confidence driving, they end up with pristine records and gold-class licenses identifying them as model drivers.

And so, Mr. Sato got his motor running aboard a train and then headed out on the highway via a bus and finally went looking for adventure in whatever came his way on foot.

And what came his way was the entrance to the Kashiwa no Mori Motorcycle Shrine, which was established on the property of BDS Co. Ltd., a company specializing in motorcycle auctions in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture.

Upon entering the shrine precincts Mr. Sato saw four torii gates lined up in a row, dividing the shrine into four separate mini shrines. This was an unusual configuration so our reporter felt like he was in store for some special mojo on this shrine visit.

Beyond the first torii was a shrine dedicated to Motomu, the mascot of BDS. It was fitting in the sense that this shrine was on company grounds, but our reporter wasn’t sure why anyone would want to pray to or for Motomu, except maybe to give the rabbit a boost in the Yuru-Kyara Grand Prix rankings.

Next up was the main event, the shrine of all motorcycles in Japan. This shrine could be prayed to for a number of reasons such as motorcycle dealers hoping for good business, those hoping to get a motorcycle license, or anyone simply wishing to not bust their head open while out riding.

However, since Mr. Sato never touches bikes, there wasn’t really anything for him to do, so he moved on to the next one.

Clearly Kashiwa no Mori Motorcycle Shrine was looking to cater to a variety of interests, because through the next torii was a hole-in-one-shrine. This is where golfers can go to pray for a hole in one, or as we’ve seen before, pray not to get a hole in one.

Mr. Sato doesn’t really golf much either, so once again he shuffled on to the next torii gate which stood in front of a shrine where you could pray for family. Mr. Sato finally found something he had a direct connection to and decided to pray at this monument.

Like with a lot of shrines, on the precincts is a booth where you can buy items such as omamori charms and ema boards. They too were based on themes such as Motomu, motorcycles, and golf.

Not wanting to go home empty-handed, Mr. Sato bought a motorcycle omamori, but since he doesn’t have anything to do with those things he doesn’t really need any luck with them.

Instead, he decided to give it to his colleague Go Hatori. That Yamaha Tricity actually belongs to Go and has been affectionately called the “Hatoricity.”

Well, anyway… That omamori should at least help prevent Go from getting hit by a motorcycle while he’s out walking around everywhere.
