This partnership will enable extensive media coverage for the ride, bringing the excitement of this amazing cross-country journey to WRN readers worldwide. Tricia is a veteran moto-journalist who has worked with some of the top motorcycle magazines in the U.S. Chix on 66 is a cross-country ride that follows Route 66 from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. This is the classic American journey on classic machines, with some women riding vintage motorcycles, and others making the trip on modern mounts. Each day the group will begin and end together, but each woman will make the journey what she wants it to be. Instead of riding in a single pack, a turn-by-turn app will allow each rider to follow the route at her own pace. Riveter Chapter President Karan Andrea says, “When I first started riding—actually, even before I got my endorsement—I subscribed to the WRN newsletter. That was the first suggestion that there were, indeed, other women who rode, because I did not know any. To be able to introduce WomenRidersNow.com as our premier media partner, all these years after I first subscribed to its newsletter, is a great honor. I am looking forward to working with WRN to create an inspiring and powerful experience for the women who join us for Chix on 66.” WomenRidersNow.com is the #1 (number one) resource for motorcycling news and reviews from a female perspective. BMW R 18 Going on Three-Nation Tour, including U.S.A.

The Great Getaway. That’s what German bike maker BMW Motorrad calls its first event dedicated to the moniker that marked its return to the cruiser segment, the insane R 18 motorcycles. from https://www.autoevolution.com by Daniel Patrascu The motorcycle was first shown back in 2020, and quickly expanded into an entire family that now comprises no less than four models, namely the standard cruiser and the Classic, and the more recent R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental. Advertised as one of the most important two-wheeled BMWs in recent memory, the family makes use of the most “powerful 2-cylinder boxer engine ever used in motorcycle series production,” the mighty Big Boxer – 1,802cc in displacement and rated at 91 hp at 4,750 rpm, and a maximum of 158 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. Now, not enough time has passed since the model’s introduction for the world to have plenty of them on the roads, but that isn’t stopping the Germans from coming up with a series of mammoth ride events meant to advertise the bike to new customers. The Great Getaway is in fact the first in what will be a series of travel events dedicated to R 18 riders. Next year, BMW promises “three inspiring destinations […] to provide riders with outstanding motorcycling pleasure in heritage style.” The tour kicks off in March 2022 in Costa Rica, moves to Portugal in June, and ends in August in the U.S. Each of the tours in these countries will comprise eight days of riding “along rugged coasts, through dense forests and past mountains and waterfalls,” and benefit from “a tour guide, hotel accommodation and meals, support vehicle and an extensive social program.” At the time of writing, BMW does not give any info on the cost for the rides, but says

Ride to Sturgis and back Home

Photos and text by Rogue I have been riding to Sturgis for over 30 years. Back when I was with Easyriders, I left after work on Friday, rolled onto the interstate, leaned over into the left lane and hit it. During those days I rode a performance-engine, rigid frame, Harley. I actually made it to Sturgis from Florida in two days one year, but ended up sleeping the entire next day. I changed it to a three-day ride in the future. CLICK HERE to Read this Photo Feature of 2021 Sturgis Motorcycle Ride Trip. New Zealand Hoar Run 2021

by Graeme Lowen My fears of there being ice over the pass were unfounded and the road was dry. It was the stop at Tarras that provide us with chilly clues. I got talking to a lady who drove from Tekapo in the morning. She told us that the first club group ran into dense hoar frost and thick fog all the way from Tekapo to the Ohau turnoff. The guys who left 20 minutes later missed most of it. Women-only motorcycle club rides across 48 states in 8 days

by Madeleine Hagen from https://www.yaktrinews.com Forty-eight states in 10 days, from Kittery, Maine to Kennewick, Washington was the adventure 28 women took to honor a motorcycle legend. “I didn’t know anyway to come out to Washington to put an event on so we came up with the 48 in 10,” Tameka Singleton of Bessie’s Belles said. The group of ladies is from all over the United States. They met up in Maine in early July to start their ride in honor of Bessie Stringfield. “She kind of gives us an inspiration and we use that everyday you know just ride motorcycles,” Singleton said. In the mid-1900’s, Bessie was a female motorcycle pioneer. She was the first African-American woman to ride the continuous United States all by herself. She eventually founded a motorcycle club, became president and was inducted into the American Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Tameka Singleton said Bessie is the reason they completed the cross country journey. “The logistics are crazy, being resourceful. These ladies have made this ride what it is,” she said. The ride started on July 5th, Tameka said they covered 15 states and hundreds of miles in the first day. On their journey, they had to get proof that they stopped in all 48 states. So, they would stop quickly, get gas and carry on. “Texarkana is in Texas and Arkansas – so it counts,” Tameka laughed. The women rode with minimal sleep. “Two to four hours of rest a night,” she said. As they reached the west, the ladies dealt with extreme conditions. “Now we have to go through that desert, and we have to go across New Mexico and it was hot, and that’s when somebody turned hell on,” Tameka said by the time they reached Idaho, the historic heatwave had started. Eventually
