Royal Enfield aims to roll out uniquely differentiated electric bikes: CEO

Interestingly, the company is also creating a supplier ecosystem around its Chennai-based plant, funded by a capital expenditure of INR 10 billion in the current fiscal year. Royal Enfield has commissioned a very capable team and has started commitment of very deep investments in terms of product development, product strategy and in the product testing and development area, he added. Further, the CEO noted that the company has made a strategic investment in electric Stark Future EV company and now teams from both companies are working well. “Currently, we have laid a robust long-term product and technology roadmap on electric vehicles and towards developing the supplier ecosystem – its our focus as of now,” Govindarajan noted. It is getting crowded at Enfield product listing with motorcycles aimed at different types of riders. This is such a big leap from just 10 to 15 years ago. The brand and the company keeps on growing and improving and challenging itself as well as its target audience. A test mule seen in the spy shots here gives a better look at the probable production model. The specifications may be very similar to 650cc trio from Royal Enfield — namely Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Super Meteor 650) Sherpa 650 looks similar to the Interceptor’s unit but has suspended on USD front forks and dual rear shocks. It seems it would get off-road ready tires. Rumors suggest that Royal Enfield would likely launch the new Sherpa 650 in 2024. Lowbrow Battery Line-Up and J&P about Testing By Bandit, the Lowbrow Team and Anthony Todd from J&P Cycles We found ourselves in the battery market again recently. We ran into a couple of issues. First, trying to fit a battery into an almost stock 1948 center oil tank. Lowbrow has an option, but it involved a very small anti-gravity lithium battery. Unfortunately, they were out of stock. Plus, they didn’t have a gel option. They did have a cool, stock, replica battery case. I did find a stock replacement battery but only in 6 Volt. I needed a 12-Volt unit for my 1948 UL. It had been modified for a 12-Volt system. Then the Lowbrow crew came up with this handy battery guide, so I thought I would share it with an article by Anthony Todd, of J&P Cycles, about testing charging systems. I went to J&P Cycles, but they don’t list battery dimensions on their website. I would think that would be a major drawback to sales, especially involving custom bikes. We all face custom oil bags with odd size battery holes. Or worse, we have limited space for a battery and need to adapt. We need to know the dimensions. Let’s roll through the Lowbrow report. The development of motorcycle batteries has really advanced in recent years. Back in-the-day a conventional motorcycle battery with an acid pack was the standard. You would open the top caps, pour in your acid pack, and throw it on a charger for 24 hours. This was the typical process for a lead acid classic motorcycle battery. It then circles back to the topic a few days later, releasing properly-sized photo galleries of the two-wheelers. The same happened with the new interpretation of the Panigale V4, shown in the last week of November in just ten or so photographs. This week though, a more comprehensive set of images were released, showing the “most significant evolutionary step” for the breed born back in 2018. The new Panigale V4 is the latest new model to be announced by the Italians in their end-of-the-year push, but by far it will probably not be the most spectacular. That’s because even if some aspects of the ride have improved significantly, not much has changed in the powertrain department. Still holding in its frame the 1,103 cm Desmosedici Stradale engine, the Panigale is now just a pinch more powerful, with the horsepower rating of the unit going up by a measly 1.5, to a total of 215.5 hp at 13,000 rpm. To be fair, the total is quite a lot, given how there are countless cars out there that don’t even come close to that. What’s more, one can squeeze an extra 12.5 hp when using the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system devised specifically for this machine. But, as said, the main changes are not in the engine department.
