I scrambled towards the retail area, but how was I going to defend myself? I reached for my buck knife, a chrome-moly fork tube, the .38 in the drawer, a yard-long Crescent wrench, the cutoff wheel and or… The young addict wasn’t interested in the mechanic wielding heavy instruments, just enough cash to buy another high.
