Royal Enfield eager to enter used motorcycle business

* Royal Enfield is likely to enter the used-bike segment * The company has got Trademark for “Reown” brand * They could sell used ones from current dealerships Royal Enfield is likely to enter used bike business officially. The company has applied for a new trademark and received permission to own and use ‘Reown’. This trademark clearly mentions that Royal Enfield wants to enter the pre-owned bike business. Currently, only a handful of motorcycle brands are in the used bike business. Through this route, brands can offer motorcycles in better condition, but the prices are usually higher than in the unorganised used bike industry. Renown brand will enable them to offer motorcycles bought from their dealers or used motorcycles from an exchange program. Details are scarce. Thee iconic company would probably have rules & checklists for every used bike to assure quality to the customer before re-sale. The surprising news is there’s a high chance all these used bikes will be sold through their existing dealer network. While this provides a great many outlets immediately, its a strange move by a company that has the biggest market share for middle-weight motorcycle segment. After all, if a customer walks in and can buy affordable used company-quality-assured motorcycle, then they may not splurge on a top-end brand new model offering of Royal Enfield. These motorcycles are a premium segment bike in India’s economy and the middle-class majority may not want the burden of loans if they can outright buy used older model Enfield. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Get There Faster, Click & Get the Bikernet.com Free Weekly Newsletter

TwinPower Introduces New One-Piece Floating Rotor

Tucker Powersport’s TwinPower brand has introduced a line of one-piece floating brake rotors which offer a traditional look while delivering the performance benefits of a floating rotor brake setup. The new TwinPower units are a perfect replacement for Harley-Davidson models equipped with original equipment floating rotors. A floating rotor has the ability to conform to the brake pads giving maximum rotor to pad contact. Floating motorcycle brake rotors lead to more consistent and predictable braking. The new TwinPower rotors use special mounting hardware which allows the rotors to “float” for improved braking performance. TwinPower rotors are known to be some of the highest quality products available and gives a builder or customizer the look of a traditional brake rotor. The proprietary, stainless steel friction surface is precision, double-disc ground and heat treated, while the edges are laser cut, rather than stamped. All machining is done to a tolerance of +/- .004” with high-tech CNC equipment. The new rotors are developed for TwinPower by engineers who specialize in braking products and are manufactured in Spain. Installation is hassle-free using new heavy duty “floater” hardware that is included in the kit. It’s a direct bolt-on using stock or aftermarket calipers and will fit most 2014 and later Harley-Davidson models with five-bolt mounts. “Builders know that TwinPower delivers the highest quality rotors you can get. These one-piece units match great performance with classic looks,” said TwinPower Brand Manager James Simonelli. TwinPower’s one-piece Floating Rotors are available for 2014 and later Harley-Davidson FLT models with five-bolt mounts. They retail for $184.95 and are available through Tucker Powersports dealer network immediately. (TwinPower Part Number 666819 – replaces OE part number 41500017). Twin Power Launches Expanded Line of Crankshaft Position Sensors

Twin Power Launches Expanded Line of Crankshaft Position Sensors for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles Fort Worth TX — May 17, 2022 – TwinPower today announced a new line of Crankshaft Position Sensors (CPS) including seven-part numbers with fitments for Harley-Davidson models dating from the 1999 model year through current models using the Milwaukee 8 engine. TwinPower was the first aftermarket company to create a line of these OEM-quality sensors and today’s launch is a significant expansion of the company’s CPS offering. The Crankshaft Position Sensor is a critical part of a Harley’s engine management system. It delivers crankshaft position data to the bike’s electronic control module, which in turn determines engine timing and fuel delivery. A motorcycle with a faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor will typically have inconsistent performance and difficulty starting. “When a crankshaft position sensor goes bad, your bike isn’t going anywhere,” said James Simonelli, Brand Manager for Twin Power. “We’ve created these products to be an affordable solution to a common problem. That’s why they are in such high demand from DIY motorcycle owners and motorcycle repair shops seeking a replacement part that will generate profits for their business.” Twin Power’s new lineup is 100% tested in the U.S. to meet OEM specifications and has been endurance tested to 60,000 miles to ensure sensor longevity. The units use OEM-style connectors for an exact fit and are designed using encapsulated circuitry, along with vibration and heat resistant polymers to stand up to the harsh operating environment of a motorcycle’s engine. The line includes nine-part numbers, each with a different fitment covering the million+ Harley-Davidson motorcycles made between 1999 and today. Part number and fitment information is available at TwinPower-USA.com. All of the TwinPower CPS models retail for $52.95. One aspect of chopper history that has always fascinated me are the black chopper builders and motorcycle clubs. That being said, I’ll just spout off things that I have learned through my chopper years thus far. One of the first things a guy wants to change is the sound – as a new Harley sounds great until you hear it next to one with a tuned exhaust system. The change now vs. days of old is it’s no longer change your pipes and re-jet the carb. Now, with electronic fuel injection, ‘void warranty’ and emission controls, it can seem a bit daunting if you don’t know where to look. Well, it’s easier today than most realize and it doesn’t require a ton of time, knowledge, or money … well, it does require some money.
