100 WFC: Ram Tough by JJ Spain

Ram Tough by JJ Spain with illustration by Wayfarer We parked our bikes on the north side of Deadwood Lodge. Omaha, off I29 to I90 was a long hot ride. I stepped on green grass to stretch. A loud snort turned me around. A Ram Big Horn Sheep with hazel eyes stared me down. He was as tall as my Harley and broad. His horns formed a perfect circle capped with gray, oyster and black ridges. Behind him stood four lady friends, half his size with matching fluffy white fur noses and rumps. Big boy snorted again, louder and longer as he stomped a hoof on the grass. I sought protection behind my Harley. “That ornery old goat wants you off his lawn,” Seth said… (publication dated 25-May-2024) * * * * Get cookin fiction with the non-stop contest since May 2023 Check out this year’s entries at https://www.bikernet.com/pages/Bikernet_100_Word_Fiction_Contest_2024.aspx Read the 2023 year entries and winners at https://www.bikernet.com/pages/100_Word_Fiction_Contest.aspx

100 WFC: What’s It Gonna Be

What’s It Gonna Be by Keith ‘Bandit’ Ball with illustration by Wayfarer Jake at 6 feet and buffed pulled up to the log cabin saloon off Highway 25, in CO on his highbar 80 flathead. No other bikes in the lot, only SUVs. He ordered a 3-2-1 Jack from blonde and bodacious. Her eyes sparkled but darted with concern. Suddenly surrounded by a young crew in camos, they snarled and brandished weapons. “Your loud pipes are done. It’s a climate emergency!” Said big and fuzzy. “What’s it gonna be?” Jake asked. “Freedom and Truth or a lying piece-of-shit dictatorship.” Fuzzy hesitated and gulped. “Bring it on,” Jake said. “Bikers are ready.” (publication dated 22-May-2024) * * * Read all about this 100 word mania at the contest page—click here https://www.bikernet.com/pages/Bikernet_100_Word_Fiction_Contest_2024.aspx

Bandit’s Latest Fiction: Christmas Dreams

CHRISTMAS DREAMS: The Family Code By Bandit with illustrations by Wayfarer Gabriel rode hard, fought hard and searched his soul year after year after he found himself in the Chopper homeland of Sturgis, South Dakota. He ultimately discovered a spot of land in Boulder Canyon, containing a modest cabin and a heated shop space to die for, but a double shot of Jack on the rocks at the Oasis lounge in downtown became his solace from his haunting blues. Something clawed at him like a bad dream, a scolding mother or the fight, when he nearly killed a man in a blind rage. He felt like a soldier missing an arm. “What’s eating at you,” Shirley said and knew when to pour him another drink. “I don’t know,” Gabriel said. “I can’t figure it out.” “Was it a girl?” Shirley muttered making change. “It usually is.” “There’s been a few,” Gabriel said and took a swig of the Jack before the ice fully melted. “There was one.” His voice drifted off. by Otilia Drăgan from https://www.autoevolution.com DGR’s Lucky Winner to Take Home the Special Edition DGR x Triumph Thruxton RS Triumph marked another year of its long-time support for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR), making this year’s event even more memorable thanks to the special edition DGR x Triumph Thruxton RS that will be awarded to the lucky winner. DGR is a one-of-a-kind event in many ways, but mostly because it blends 2 unique features. On one hand, it gives motorcycle lovers the chance to dress up and ride in amazing classic and retro-styled outfits, and on the other hand, it’s a charitable event that raises awareness and funds for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. This year, the DGR celebrated 10 years since it’s been inspiring like-minded people from all-over the world to take their bike out for a noble and stylish ride. The main event took place on May 23rd and the fundraiser was closed on June 6. Over $4 million were raised, plus an $113,000 contribution from Triumph Team that added almost 300 riders to the event. An impressive number of 65,000 motorcycle riders participated at this year’s DGR, from more than 900 cities throughout the world. Whether it was because people were eager to be outside again, or because 3 separate ride formats replaced last year’s single format, what’s certain is that men and women all around the globe really came through for the event’s special anniversary. And so did Triumph, who announced a month ago that it would be presenting a one-off Thruxton RS during the event. This special edition bike is now displayed at the Triumph Factory Visitor Experience and the lucky winner of the ride’s famous Gentlefolk competition will get to take it home. Not many details were revealed about this celebratory model,
