Honda CR Electric Makes Racing Debut

Honda CR Electric has made an impressive beginning in All Japan Motocross Championship last weekend. It debuted at Round 8, competing against 450cc gas-powered motorcycles in the IA1 class. All Japan Motocross Championship was held at Saitama. Team Honda HRC advisor and test rider Trey Canard rode the Honda CR Electric prototype as a wildcard entry, setting the second fastest time in the opening practice session. He qualified in fifth overall on Saturday. Canard finished second in the first of three motos behind reigning champion Jay Wilson of Yamaha on race day. Together, the electric bike and Canard made their fastest single lap time at 1:37.195, which was the second overall behind Wilson’s 1:36.503. Canard crashed out early in second and third motos. Monster Energy® Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo Podiums in Monster Energy Supercross 450SX Debut

Foothill Ranch, Calif. (January 5, 2020) – Monster Energy® Kawasaki came into the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship season opener in Anaheim, California feeling stronger than ever with the dynamic rider duo of Eli Tomac and Adam Cianciarulo. Cianciarulo making his Monster Energy Supercross 450SX debut picked up right where he left off at the Monster Energy Cup, showing great speed aboard his KX™450 all day long. The rookie was able to capture the fastest qualifying, a second place finish and a spot on the podium. While a true rookie in the 450SX class, Cianciarulo made the rest of the competition aware that he was a true player in this title chase. Cianciarulo started the day off perfect by setting the fastest times in all three practice sessions and finished second in his heat race. In the Main Event, Cianciarulo made quick moves to put his KX450 into second place and began to hunt down the leader. After a mistake from the leader, Cianciarulo was able to capitalize and begin building a lead over the field, however, a minor mistake cost Cianciarulo the win in his debut race, he continued to push, finishing in second place. It is no secret that the No. 3 machine of Eli Tomac is a title contender and podium contender every time he lines up to race his KX450. Tomac showed this early in the day, qualifying in second place position heading into the night show. However, in both the heat race and main event a mid-pack start would ultimately hamper his results. Tomac finished the evening in seventh place overall. Pirelli Captures Third Absolute Motorcycle Track Record of 2019 with Mikey Shreve at Arroyo Seco Raceway Shreve Earns Pirelli Tire Voucher on DIABLO™ Superbike Slicks ROME, Ga. (June 19, 2019) – Pirelli Tire North America congratulates Mikey Shreve on capturing the brand’s third absolute motorcycle track record of 2019. Competing aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1, Shreve set the track record at Arroyo Seco Raceway during the fourth round of the ASMA Road Race Series. “Mikey has been working very hard on improving his race craft,” said Oscar Solis, road racing manager, Pirelli. “He recently teamed up with the Pirelli brand and it has been great to see the confidence that our tires have given him, which shows in his results on the racetrack. Congrats Mikey!” Shreve set the impressive lap record of 1:06.75 during the ESP Formula Arroyo qualifying, topping the previous track record of 106.77 that was set back in 2010 by Chris Peris. Monster Energy Kawasaki Leaves Denver with Mile Wide Smiles

Foothill Ranch, Calif. (April 14, 2019) – Round 15 of Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship returned to the mile high city of Denver for the first time since 1996. Home-state hero, Monster Energy® Kawasaki rider Eli Tomac and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo both captured victories at Broncos Stadium at Mile High in their respective classes, each earning their fifth win of the 2019 season. With frigid temperatures and snow flurries throughout the day, Tomac kicked the day off by pushing through the snow and qualifying with the fastest lap time while his teammate Joey Savatgy was close behind in third. The Kawasaki teammates came out in front of the pack in 450SX Heat 2 with Savatgy in second and Tomac in fourth. Tomac challenged his title contender as they raced side-by-side for multiple laps until finally the No. 3 KX™450 of Tomac made a clean pass and continued making his move to the front. By Lap 7, Tomac was able to catch Savatgy and pass him for second, where he would go on to cross the finish line. Savatgy fell back to finish fourth. As the gate dropped on the 450SX Main Event, Savatgy launched out of the gate to another second position start, while Tomac was not far behind in fifth. Similar to the heat race, there were great battles going on up front where Savatgy held a top-3 position before being passed by his teammate and two others, but still earning another impressive top-5 finish.
