Please help Tobey get his health and finances back Hi, my name is Nicole and my dear friend Tobey is in a bad way. He is someone who spent his life racing and riding from Canada to Bonneville living life to the greatest glory of freedom and service to others unfortunately not planning for himself. Tobey is a welder by trade and an artist who is now suffering the effects of life long toxicity and heavy metal poisoning. He lives on a boat in Long Beach and is behind two months on rent and is to ill to work. As a Canadian there are no services available to him and he needs immediate medical and financial assistance. If you ever wanted to meet Burt Munro Tobey is the closest thing you will find. When we met I wondered at the two starting dampeners he had on his modified Harley Sportster and watched him blow by younger faster bikes on the track at Buttonwillow. ‘Tidman Strong Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser’ for corrections officer fighting for his life by Spectrum News Staff at https://spectrumnews1.com A motorcycle ride Sunday raised money to support a corrections officer who is now fighting for his life. Over 500 bikers showed up for the “Tidman Strong Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser.” The escorted ride began at the Department of Mental Health’s Hadley Building in Westborough and ended at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Leominster. Matthew Tidman was beaten by an inmate at MCI-Shirley in August.​ His younger brother, Josh Tidman, organized the ride to help the officer’s family. Josh Tidman said his brother is making progress, and the family is hoping for the best, but it’s a long road to recovery. “A lot of people came about it, without question. I couldn’t have done this without my friends and fellow department of corrections officers who put this together,” Joshua Tidman said. “It’s unmeasured, the amount of love that’s here. Annual Motorcycle Ride for Toys for Tots to Begin October 24

Toys for Tots begins collections for holiday season during motorcycle run. As a child, there is nothing quite as exciting as waking up on Christmas morning with presents under the tree. However, not every child gets to experience that feeling. The Toys for Tots campaign works to change that. Assistant Program Coordinator Paul Caputo and Maj. Mike Schroeder discuss the campaign and how it’s making a difference in the lives of local children. A program by the US Marine Corps Reserve, Toys for Tots strives to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December every year and to distribute them as Christmas gifts to children in need within the community. On Sunday, Oct. 24, the 17th Annual Ride for Toys for Tots will kick off the season at the Super Walmart located on 528 and Enchanted Hills. Registration for the motorcycle ride starts at 9 a.m. with a ride to Thunderbird Harley-Davidson at 5000 Alameda Blvd. for an afterparty. The entry fee to the event is an unwrapped gift. Hot Harley Nights Motorcycle Rally Resumes its Mission To Raise Funds For Make-A-Wish While Providing Fun-filled Weekend of Motorsports and Entertainment. The CMA-Truth messengers are a group of motorcyclists who travel all over Utah to bless motorcycles and participate in fundraising to help the community. They partnered with the Vietnam Veterans of St. George and Zion Harley Davidson to host this event, which raised more than $1,500 for protective K-9 vests for the Division of Natural Resources and Wildlife. “We want to support law enforcement in any way we can. We go around to local police departments, the St. George Police department, blessing their motorcycles and their staff,” said Steven Gaither, president of the CMA chapter in St. George. Gaither is also retired from law enforcement. The fundraiser had food provided by the Veterans and K-9 demonstrations done by the DNR. They brought both tracking and defense dogs to showcase the need for protective vests. “All of our dogs to tracking, they all do article search and detection work. So, wildlife detection is our specialty in the detection field,” Conservation officer and Lead K-9 trainer Josh Carver said. These officers specialize in looking for bear poachers and searching for people out in the wild. Often, these dogs will track remains and possibly the poachers themselves which means they’re searching for someone who is potentially armed. These vests can make the difference between life and death for these dogs. “Tracking is another thing we take pride in. That’s something that we either do for search and rescue, which we love to help when we can, but we do a lot of tracking bad guys-fugitives, trespasser, you name it,” Carver said. Brett Hundley, the former UCLA star who started nine games for Green Bay Packers in 2017 in place of injured Aaron Rodgers and is now a free agent, will team with the TV reality star during this year’s motorcycle charity run set for May 29. The Hundley Foundation, dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in need, will be a benefactor of the rally. Hundley’s older sister, Paris, was a budding track star before she started having grand mal seizures when she was 11, the free-agent quarterback said during a recent Las Vegas visit. “This is where all the passion came from,” Hundley said about his charitable pursuits. “Football is still huge, but life is so much bigger.” Harrison said he suffered violent epileptic seizures when he was a youngster and that he still has problems today because of them. “I would tear all the muscles in my back and legs. I couldn’t walk at all. I’d be in bed for two weeks sometimes,” said the owner of Las Vegas’ Gold & Silver Pawn Shop featured on the History series “Pawn Stars.” Harrison wrote about the ravages of epilepsy in his 2011 biography that made the New York Times’ best-seller list. Athens motorcycle club fundraises for Special Olympics

The group charged $20 per motorcycle to join them on their 65-mile ride beginning and ending at Redstone Harley Davidson in Madison. The event today, complete with live music, giveaways, and even a food truck, is just one of the ways they’ve fundraised tens of thousands of dollars over the past year. To many of the club members, this cause hits close to home. “It touches close to my heart because I have a special needs daughter, so I enjoy it. It’s all about the kids, it’s not about me, it’s not about anybody, it’s all about the kids,” Athens Iron Legacy chapter President Randy Ruper said. Iron Legacy is a motorcycle club not only spread out over the United States but in countries like Guatemala, Canada, Germany, and more; many host fundraisers of their own making contributions to the Special Olympics.
