Jack McIntyre photography: Bikes built by Johnny Mac

By General Posts

By Bandit with photos from Jack McIntyre

We started a series of stories about why we chop. They are a blast, inspirational and enlightening. This one touches on two elements of the equation. Why we chop and something about the history of the chopper.

There are two partners involved in this story and bikes. Both are partners in a Shop called Johnny Mac’s Chopper house. One was the photographer behind this feature with Chelsea, Jack McIntyre, a veteran and the other the shop boss, Johnny Mac.

Rocking On Requires Some Rolling

by Wayfarer

Sound has more impact on life than we know or credit it for. Sound is not just significant to humans but many lifeforms.

We now have turned sound to music. W have a whole range of music genres to choose from – for entertainment, for ‘edu-taiment’ of kids, for relaxing, for hitting the gym, for romantic night dinners, for wild parties and more.

In this article, there are also a few examples offered of some myths & inspirations from iconic Rock group ‘Creedence Clearwater Revival’ music & songs.

Often people assume meanings of songs based on lyrics, music style or other socio-cultural information from the period when a song first appeared.

Bandit’s First Bike Feature in Easyriders

By General Posts

by Bandit with photos from the late Pete Chiodo

I was working in a bike shop on Imperial Highway, US Choppers in 1970 to support going to Long Beach City College. I was into my first Shovelhead after I sold my 1969 XLCH, and perhaps my fourth bike build after the Sportster, a bent Triump 650 and a 45 trike ground up.

Through Andy Hansen and Bob George I started to rebuild engines. I met Andy on the USS Maddox, DD731, which was my last duty station in the service.

I started to work for Easyriders on the third issue in 1971. That puts me at about 52 years in the motorcycle industry.

Recognizing Black History Month 2022
by Nick Resty and Mama Tried

I do not claim to be an expert on any historical MC stuff, but I have always found it fascinating.

Being a guy who tries to emulate what others have done in the past, I have always found it to be important and respectful to learn the history of the source of my passion.

One aspect of chopper history that has always fascinated me are the black chopper builders and motorcycle clubs. That being said, I’ll just spout off things that I have learned through my chopper years thus far.
