Paradise Bikernet Weekly News for July 15th, 2021

Thursdays are often wild days. Thursdays are tough since I’m trying to focus on the news. Brothers are calling about Sturgis plans, which are ever-changing. We are working with Markus Cuff on a feature around a new whacky Petersen Museum Exhibit on long distance travelers. I’m working on a report about stolen motorcycle stories. I was thinking about a fictional series, but I may just post the real stories. There are lessons in each one. In the meantime, remember to ride free. We are living in the best of times. –Bandit Click Here to Read the Weekly News only on Bikernet.com Join the Cantina for more – Subscribe Today. https://www.bikernet.com/pages/custom/subscription.aspx

Art inspired rumble Sidecar Project

Twenty Years of Chopper Dedication and Hard Work by Dan Stern Decades ago (mid ‘90s) Paisano Publications came out with an upscale magazine called VQ. I’m sure a take-off on GQ. People scoffed because the RUB thing was in full swing. I didn’t care because it was another great publication from bikers for bikers. It was tailored for the upscale market complete with ads for cologne, soap and other things you’d never find in Easyriders. The best part was a feature on artists concepts. VQ’s editor, Keith (Bandit) Ball was running it while juggling the editorship of Easyriders and countless other publications. Sam’s Picks for the Week of March 11th, 2021

I’m in the process of moving to Sturgis, South Dakota from a 9,000 square foot building including a shop, 17 motorcycles and 17 years of history. It’s crazy, but brothers and sisters all over the country are moving to the Badlands. Jason Mook from Deadwood Custom Cycles made 13 trips pulling a trailer from North Carolina. At times I need to tell my dust-covered self that brothers all over the country have done this. Click Here to read this Photo Feature on Bikernet. Triumph Over Tragedy For Local Motorcycle Company

by Kelly Wise Valdes from https://www.ospreyobserver.com Jared Weems from Riverview is no stranger to adversity. But, as Albert Einstein said, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” No one knows this better than Weems. The 42-year-old is from a fourth-generation vintage motorcycle enthusiast family. He explained that the passion for all things involving vintage British motorcycles runs in his blood. Weems was born in Tampa, but ultimately he was raised for the majority of his life in South Tennessee. After high school, he returned to the Tampa area and eventually joined the Army in 2003. He proudly served his country in Special Ops and spent a majority of his military time parachuting from airplanes. It was during this time that he married his wife, Breanne, and they had two children—a son, Austin, 13, and a daughter, Adelaide, 11. After the onset of some health issues, Weems was medically discharged from the Army in 2018 and moved to Riverview. Unfortunately, his health issues proved to be serious and he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that caused seizures. It was at this time that he hit a low point in his life. “I sold my motorcycles and was unsure where my life was headed,” said Weems. A pivotal moment took place when a friend came to visit and brought a painting from a famous artist, David Mann. Mann’s work mostly featured Harley Davidson bikes and his paintings were published regularly in Easyriders magazine for more than 20 years. During his lifetime, Mann painted only two pictures of a Triumph bike, and Weems was holding one of those pictures. “I wanted to build the Triumph bike that Mann had painted,” said Weems. “The painting was something of Mann’s creation—it wasn’t a bike that ever really existed.” Weems was motivated by his new

Hollister Biosciences, Easyriders To Launch New Cannabis Product Line

from https://www.rttnews.com California-based cannabis company Hollister Biosciences Inc. said it has signed an exclusive deal with American motorcycle magazine Easyriders to design and produce a national line of cannabis products that embody the biker spirit and ethos. The companies entered into the deal as part of Easyriders’ 50th anniversary celebration. According to the companies, the new cannabis line will debut in January 2021 with pre-rolls and mini pre-rolls, followed by a cannabis tattoo balm that can be applied directly to the skin after new ink, with a full line of products coming in 2021. As part of the deal, Hollister Biosciences will introduce Easyriders pre-rolls and tattoo balms into the California market in early 2021, followed by Arizona and other markets. The terms of the deal include a two-year exclusive agreement on all cannabis products in the U.S., with an 80:20 net revenue split in favor of Hollister with options to renew for subsequent terms. “My vision for Hollister has always been to pay homage to the amazing biker culture that has permeated the global landscape over the past few decades by combining it with amazing cannabis products. Easyriders is one of the most iconic and recognizable global biker brands,” said Carl Saling, the Co-Founder, CEO and Director of Hollister Biosciences. Easyriders magazine debuted shortly after the groundbreaking 1969 film ‘Easy Rider’ in which Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper portray bikers traveling across the American Southwest. Similarly, Hollister Biosciences is based in Hollister, California, birthplace of the “American Biker.” Hollister Biosciences’ products include HashBone, the brand’s artisanal hash-infused pre-roll, along with concentrates, distillates, solvent-free bubble hash, pre-packaged flower, pre-rolls, tinctures, vape products and full-spectrum high CBD pet tinctures. The company’s products are currently available in nearly 300 dispensaries in California and more than 80 dispensaries in Arizona.

Best Little Whorehouse in Deadwood, SD

Published in Easyriders Magazine in 1981 Xmas issue By Bandit, Mike and Billy Tinney This is too strange. I bought a house in Deadwood in the historic President’s district. It’s about 100 years old and so are the streets and retaining walls. Recently contacted by the Historic Society about my retaining wall, the boss asked. “Do you know about this article and how we can get in touch with the photographer?” I asked to see what he found and he sent me shots of the pages. It was written by Billy Tinney. Billy was once a Bandido for a short period and a constantly traveling photographer for Easyriders magazine for over 50 years. He’s currently trying for pull photography from his massive archives for the next issue of Choppers Magazine. So, he said he would look for the brothel file from 1981. Perfect Bikernet Weekly News for July 18th, 2019

What an interesting week. We are scrambling with the Salt Torpedo. I trying to outfit the new Bikernet Salt Flats Van for the trip to Bonneville. I’ve been in touch with various Easyriders contributors and now ex-staff members regarding the future. A few of us have been super-lucky to make a living in the motorcycle industry. Even tougher, I’ve been having a blast in the Chopper industry most of my life. It’s not about the money, obviously, it’s about sex. What could be sexier than to bang around choppers, metalflake paint, sultry art and girls all your life. What could be better. Otherwise, this week has been amazingly positive with cool resources surfacing for the Torpedo. We’ve about got the body handled. Jane came by and took shots of my ’72 Ford F250 and the Shovelhead in the back. She thinks she can move it and the Shovelhead. Not sure I can sell the 1928 Shovelhead.
