Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser for corrections officer fighting for his life

‘Tidman Strong Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser’ for corrections officer fighting for his life
by Spectrum News Staff at https://spectrumnews1.com

A motorcycle ride Sunday raised money to support a corrections officer who is now fighting for his life.

Over 500 bikers showed up for the “Tidman Strong Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser.”

The escorted ride began at the Department of Mental Health’s Hadley Building in Westborough and ended at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Leominster.

Matthew Tidman was beaten by an inmate at MCI-Shirley in August.

His younger brother, Josh Tidman, organized the ride to help the officer’s family.

Josh Tidman said his brother is making progress, and the family is hoping for the best, but it’s a long road to recovery.

“A lot of people came about it, without question. I couldn’t have done this without my friends and fellow department of corrections officers who put this together,” Joshua Tidman said. “It’s unmeasured, the amount of love that’s here. The outpour of it is extremely supportive.”

The fundraiser also included live music, food, a car show and raffles.

SEMA Members Gather in Support of RPM Act at Washington Rally

SEMA Members Gather in Support of RPM Act at Washington Rally to Save Our Racecars!

More than 100 SEMA members descended on the nation’s capital to participate in SEMA’s 2022 Washington Rally on Thursday, September 22. Industry leaders took to the halls of Congress to remind lawmakers of the cultural and economic importance of the automotive specialty-equipment industry and motorsports.

During the event, SEMA members urged Congress to pass H.R. 3281/S.2736, the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports (RPM) Act. The bipartisan bill would protect Americans’ right to modify street vehicles into dedicated racecars and the industry’s right to sell the parts that enable racers to compete. The RPM Act currently has 132 co-sponsors in the House and 33 co-sponsors in the Senate, and the number continues to grow. Members also raised awareness for other issues facing the industry, including the REPAIR Act, harmful tariffs and zero-emissions vehicle mandates.

This year’s event marks the 16th time representatives from SEMA have held a fly-in on Capitol Hill. The event raises SEMA’s profile in Washington, D.C., and plays a pivotal role in the association’s advocacy efforts in Congress.

SEMA members who couldn’t make it to the Rally can get involved by hosting their local lawmakers at their business. To learn more, please contact Eric Snyder at erics@sema.org.

All the Players Step Forward
By Kent Weeks and Tom Young with photos by RFR and Sil

EDITOR’S NOTE: This gets more bizarre by the week, or year, maybe decade. We published Part 1 not long ago, but perhaps this is part 1. Although, if you read the first episode, you will encounter the long back story behind a brother, a veteran who had a chopper dream through many stages and years. Then there’s the story behind the builders, models and photographers involved in this process. It’s all good, fun, and Chopper Nirvana. Enjoy.

Chop Upgrades to a 1948 UL

This bike was built in classic form by Steve Hannah a 20-year Paughco employee and lifetime biker. The Redhead and I hauled ass to Carson City, Nevada with the briefcase, purchased, loaded and blasted back to the Black Hills of South Dakota.

I usually mess with any purchase unless it’s a restored antique. But this puppy was well built, classic and had chopper class.

Flashbacks & Giant Memory Cards

A Creed and Our Passions

Looking back at culture & lifestyle of our parents, ourselves and the generations that came after us. Comparisons of it are not of any practical validity. Times will change, so will people. Many times, history repeats itself.

Well, consider this article information overload or goodies to be rediscovered, but make some memories and don’t sell it all in a barnyard-sale or on Ebay. Books, comics or LPs. Maybe gift it to a genuinely interested youth or well-funded library. Then memories will live again through same passion as yours.

VIDEO: Inside Indian Motorcycle Racing

Get an insight into the racing by O’Hara

Click on Video to Play

With the 2022 King of the Baggers series finale this weekend, we wanted to share the latest “Inside Indian Motorcycle Racing” video. The piece fully recaps the dramatic action at the last round in Brainerd. You may recall, it was Brainerd where Bobby Fong made the incredible inside pass on Tyler O’Hara and captured his first bagger racing victory. The race was nothing short of boring, with oil leakage, a disqualification, crashed riders, delays, and ultimately rain concluding the Main after three laps.

In this video, viewers get an inside look to all the action, along with compelling interview insights from Tyler O’Hara, S&S and Indian Motorcycle Racing team members. It’s truly an inside the paddock experience that we thought would be cool for your audience to check out heading into the series finale.

It’s winner-take-all in Jersey. HD vs IMC. David vs Goliath. This is what racing is all about….

It’ll be a fun one!
