Okay, so life is nuts. Finally the sun popped out after a few days of off-and-on rain. Our welder can’t take the wet and stays indoors to avoid the pain.
He’s on his way to a speed shop today, in Bellflower to find a steering column and Dzus fittings. We are getting close on the frame. Micah and I fought my old cheap, Chinese milling machine to modify our axle clamp. We ended up running over to McQuiston’s Custom Motorcycles to seek guidance and a reputable machine shop, that wouldn’t charge us an arm and a leg.
I’m trying to adjust to my new schedule. It’s a challenge. The team is working on the Salt Torpedo three afternoons a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon. That gives me one full day on Tuesday to take care of business and Thursday for the news. I work out on Tuesday, break-out weight sets on Thursdays and Saturday another full work out with cardio. I’m still trying to adjust to not working on Sunday and a new laptop computer. I retired my last one. The operating systems said they wouldn’t give me an update without a new computer. Fuck that. I retired it and found a newer used laptop. It’s a scam.
Yesterday, between helping Micah fight the Chinese mill, I worked on Frankie’s FXR. I did a cool job of wiring and placing a high/low beam switch, and then the bastard didn’t work. Turned out we lost ground, after trying to replace the halogen bulb. What a pain that was. We ended up with headlights torn apart all over the bench. We just needed a clean fastener for he headlight, no powder coating.
Okay, this week will be another scramble. I wrapped up Frankie’s 39mm Custom Cycle Engineering tech, although it could have used more photos. He’s my grandson and my son installed a KlockWerks Slicer front fender on his Road Glide. I’ve been bugging him about photos and some thoughts. Not much so far as you will see. I reached out to KlockWerks for some info. Maybe we’ll have something, maybe not. See below:
Tire Hugger Front Fenders for 1983-2013 FLH Baggers
“As seen here in front of Jack Rudy’s Tattooland the Slicer is more low profile and has a sleek look the stock road king fender just didn’t give, “ said my son.

I’m also working on a Shovel restoration tech with Mike Pullin. He sent me the story. I’m just waiting on the photos. We have more stuff coming and I’m working on a Life and Times about 8 years ago and how Sin Wu bought a restaurant with the Root Beer Float that was built by Kent Weeks for her. It was an interesting time for me and she did a helluva job with the only floating restaurant in Los Angeles. It’s about 50 years old and barely floating.
I also need to order some new leathers. Which I need to tackle this week. I want to order a couple of new items, but I need to sell some first. We have the new Long Road Roll and straps to put in the shop. I need to get to that.

Okay, I’ve got to get out of here, feed the dog and then watch the State of the Union speech. We live in strange times. We should be happy, successful and dancing in the streets, but nooo. They keep fighting over everything. I hope he can pull it off. Let’s see.
In the mean-time, I’ll keep fighting the Doomsday Activists so we can continue to ride free.
