Of note at this coming weekend’s MidAmerica Motorcycle Auction and Races is the George Pardo collection of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, including a 1911 Model 7D, sporting Harley’s first production V-twin engine and a military 1942 Model XA complete with rifle holster mounted to the sprung front forks.
Other collections to be featured include 22 bikes from the Matt Talbert collection with several Broughs listed, and 19 bikes from the Sinless Cycles collection, including a 1913 Henderson Four. Jefferson, Vincent, Indian, Agusta, Excelsior, Honda, Matchless and Moto Guzzi are all well represented among the bikes available for bidding. There will even be a 1934 Crocker Speedway Racer and one of the 1971 Harley-Davidson Sportsters used to film the movie Evel Knievel, starring George Hamilton.
British bike restoration experts Jim Hiddleston and Don Harrell will also have many BSA, Norton and Triumph restorations available for purchase. – See more at: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2014/01/09/one-of-harleys-first-v-twins-to-cross-the-block/#.Us_ny5fzAcM.
