This should be a good one. I’m working on my first stolen motorcycle story. I’m going to base the series in a saloon in Sundance, Wyoming, and I should drop a few shady episodes in Thermopolis and Worland where my Wyoming girl lived until she died of cancer.

She worked in fields as a kid where they were crop dusted. More and more cancers are caused by environment and genes. If both are working against you, you’re in trouble. Markus Cuff, a photographer for Easyriders, American Iron and Cycle Source has cancer. He didn’t smoke, was a vegetarian, and never worked in a Coal Mine, yet he still got it. Musta been in his genes. I’ll dive away from this topic.

Remember, we’re living in the best of times, but the control freaks need more control. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s a power/money deal.

So, I’m setting up the characters who become the team to help brothers and sisters get their Prize Possessions back. Not sure what to name it. Maybe I’ll name the series after my first book Prize Possession, which I wrote after my bike was stolen out from under the Easyriders offices.




I was thinking about Chopper Chronicles, but I have a sneaking suspicion that name is taken. Let me know. Sounds familiar. Let’s hit the news.

I’m going to try to make this as simple as possible. This should be a text book used in schools all over the world.

We are being bullied into another witch hunt. Did you know that some communities in the 1600s burned all the women at the stake, because of witchcraft rumors?

Bill tells us that Science is Never Settled. He explains the Scientific Method which is not being used by climate Doomsday Sayers all over the world.

The Climate is not controlled by Man, but by the sun and the earth’s orbit. In other words Mother Nature.

CO2 is one of the best elements in the atmosphere. Life cannot survive without it. It is not a pollutant. Man improved desperately low CO2 levels by burning fossil fuels over the last 75 years.

If C02 gets below 150 ppm plants die and we starve. It got down to 180 when we started driving cars. In the past 100,000 years it was as high as 7,000 and life flourished. It is now just 410 and we are doing alright, but it could be higher.


Climate Doomsday Sayers are denying the facts. They are denying the Scientific Method and History.

Driving your cars is good for the planet. It does not create forest fires, bad forrest management does.

I see you moved. Pedro to Deadwood wow. Seems like more and more people are leaving Calif. The caldor fire up here by me (Placerville) has been bad. I didn’t have to evac, but it was close.



The fire went east, and crested echo summit then went down in to South lake Tahoe basin but they saved the town and the fire is going east. Over 200,000 acres with this fire. Pretty scary, I’m in the middle of a forest here. Praying for rain. Talk to you soon.

Back-to-Back Wins Closes Gap Between Mees & Points Leader Briar Bauman,
Two-Man Wrecking Crew to Battle for Championship with Three Races Remaining

Indian Motorcycle Racing, carried out its 2021 American Flat Track (AFT) season with back-to-back wins during this weekend’s doubleheader at the Springfield Mile I and II.

Ultimately, Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew rider Jared Mees swept the weekend and closed the gap with the factory teammate and season’s points leader, Briar Bauman.

During Sunday’s Springfield Mile I, Mees and Bauman battled closely, as the two were neck-and-neck during the final lap. Though it was Mees who edged out Bauman to capture his sixth-career Springfield Mile victory, while Bauman finished second. Indian Motorcycle privateer Brandon Robinson rounded out the podium with his sixth podium of the season.

On Monday, knowing he still had ground to make up on the leaderboard, Mees came out to the Springfield Mile II and dominated the field – ultimately reaching the finish line more a second before Indian Motorcycle privateer Sammy Halbert. The win marked Mees’ seventh-career Springfield Mile win and reignited a championship battle with just three races remaining.

“Anyone who knows Jared or has been following his career knows this was a typical Jared Mees performance. With his back against the ropes, a pair of wins were his best option to keep his championship hopes alive,” said Gary Gray, Vice President Racing, Service & Technology. “That said, I’m sure he didn’t go popping champagne bottles, as he’s quickly moving on to the next and preparing for the final three races of the season.”

Mees, a five-time Grand National Champion who last won in 2018, has his sights set on reclaiming the No. 1 plate. Facing a 12-point deficit, Mees will have his work cut out for him as Bauman, the two-time reigning SuperTwins Champion, has remained consistent all year, as he’s reached the podium in all but two races this season.

Regarding lifting weights as an easy meditation – it is very true and many may not understand how.

When you are lifting weights, you have to pay attention to each rep. Because it weighs a few pounds, your mind is forced to focus on the weight and be attentive to how your body is responding to it with proper posture for lifting it.

There is no choice for the mind to wander into other thoughts, worries since the primal mind wants to avoid injury. Distractions around you, whether physical presence or mental worries are pushed out by the mind. The subconscious mind then gets a further boost of hormones released through such weight training exercises.

Riding motorcycles are similar too and gets you out of the house or office. On the motorcycle, the rider must pay attention to controlling the machine, physically and mentally. It is very unlike taking a long drive in a car with radio playing and mobile phone ringing – allowing already existing thoughts to surface. On a motorcycle all senses are alive plus the need to feel free.

So, an easy first step for meditation is definitely getting into lifting weights or getting outdoors on a motorcycle. It forces you be present in the moment.

For others, the Kriya Yoga form of meditation also does not require any mental effort nor do you have to close your eyes nor sit still, etc. It is very suitable to modern lifestyle. Forcing your mind to not think of something or to think of a particular thing is not really a meditation many people are capable of.

Creating a duality in the mind by suppressing your own thoughts or denying urges is unnatural state of mind – just like telling a regular city-dweller to take a vow of celibacy and not have sexual relations. It’s like telling a man on the mound to now climb Mt. Everest as the next step for his training.

In Kriya Yoga, there is no loss of benefits from practice even though a thousand thoughts and worries occupy your mind during practice. You don’t need to close your eyes nor close your mind to all the distractions around. It works just the way weight training works through biological processes in the body and brain.

Tai-Chi form of martial arts is also called “meditation in motion” by many, because just like Kriya Yoga, there is no demand from your mind as required in various popular meditation techniques.

Let thoughts come and let them branch out into other thoughts. Look at those thoughts like witnessing a dream and let your mind analyze, evaluate and process them. Talk to someone about your thoughts and worries if you think it will help you. But living in self-denial and suppressing your thoughts, feelings and emotions is not at all a “meditation”. It is not the freedom of spirit which is the purpose of doing meditation / yoga in the first place.

SEMA MASSACHUSETTS NEWS–“As a Massachusetts resident and an avid car enthusiast, I am enthused to see the introduction of a bill to remove the front plate requirement for the state,” noted Josh Shapiro to his lawmakers earlier this year.

“I believe that the removal of this requirement will both improve the appearance of all cars in the state, but more importantly, it will help residents of Massachusetts by not requiring them to drill holes in their front bumper, which can help improve the appeal of Massachusetts owned cars in states that do not require a front license plate.



This bill has the ability to bring Massachusetts in line with other states that have moved to lift the same requirement and would accommodate cars that were not built with having a front plate in mind.” He and fellow residents are still waiting for the legislature to take action on the bill this year.

It’s sold now, but a couple of artists have made it shine even more.






And Mike kept the Superman spirit alive by casting the fender version of Superman. They were originally sold through J.C. Whitney in the ‘50s and were pot metal. He broke one and decided he better cast it. If you are interested let me know.

Yo Bandit, this unit is the bomb. I left the house last night to go to the burger joint gathering. I hit the 91 East, and brother I did not want to stop. That unit is sooo comfortable that it ain’t even funny. Plenty of shoulder space and absolutely no elbow bind, like most motorcycle jackets. I could have kept going until I got to the border and still just kept on moving.

You should have called the 5/8 Jak shirt ape hanger’s delight. That unit is the bomb for all of us ape hanger guys. The most comfortable leather shirt I have ever worn on ape hangers.

Another State Adds an Office of Outdoor Recreation
Arkansas announced the creation of an Office of Outdoor Recreation, and seven other states – Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and West Virginia – have joined the National Governors Association’s Outdoor Recreation Learning Network in 2021.

State offices of outdoor recreation work to enhance outdoor recreation within a state. These offices work to bolster the state outdoor recreation economy through promoting health and wellness, education and engagement, and ensuring proper stewardship of public lands and waters. The offices also serve as a point of contact for businesses, stakeholders, and different levels of government that are involved with the outdoor recreation industry.



The NGA’s Outdoor Recreation Learning Network helps states explore strategies to leverage their unique natural, cultural, and historical resources for economic, social, and environmental benefits.

The MIC, Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association, and Specialty Vehicle Institute of America work with the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable, a coalition of outdoor recreation trade associations and organizations, to encourage more states to create offices of outdoor recreation.

As we recently discussed, I found a copy of your book, Terry the Tramp on Amazon. I’ve been carrying that book around with me for two months and finally got the time to read it while traveling to the Born Free Show and Texas over the past two weeks.

I have admitted I’m completely clueless as to the ins and outs of the biker culture and also of its history. Your book cleared that right up. In my line of work, one has to be a history buff. Learning the history behind what WWII vets then Korea and VietNam vets dealt with was enlightening. I was surprised that in your book you trace the roots of the culture to the heavy handedness of the AMA. It makes perfect sense. I was equally amazed, not surprised, at how corrupt many police departments are. Sure I knew it existed but did not understand how bad it was. It only takes one guy at the top of any department to make a group of bad people.

Anyway, I’m preaching to the choir. I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed the book and the lessons learned.

We’ve all seen the post Ida photos, and the human suffering associated with this disaster. Homes, buildings and industry destroyed, submerged vehicles by the thousands, and the surrounding devastation…..

In Climate Doom Perfect World – after natural disasters like hurricane Ida. How safe will it be for those unfortunate folks and wildlife, after wading through the chemicals from all those future electric vehicles? Petroleum products – that’s one thing – but battery juice? Will there be any wildlife left?

We have reasonably effective cleanup methods for petroleum…..cleaning up battery juice is like trying to spank a porcupine. Mother Nature wins every time.

FRED KODLIN 2021 Inductee into the Sturgis Hall Of Fame—
Pushing the boundaries of what a motorcycle can be, Fred Kodlin has built a reputation for radical custom bike building, cutting-edge product design and high-quality manufacturing. Fred Kodlin grew up in Germany and started riding at age 13. Loving everything that burns gasoline; motorcycles, racecars, and boats, he built his first Bonanza Handlebar for a Zuendapp Supersport he rode as a teenager.

After finishing his apprenticeship as a welder, Fred worked for a heating company. Although he was making a decent living, his passion for motorcycles and customizing only grew stronger. He wanted to create things that were different and unique; things he didn’t see on bikes or on the streets.



Paving the way to owning his own business, Fred completed a Master’s degree, in Vehicle Construction and Blacksmithing. He opened the doors to Kodlin Motorcycles in 1984 and started manufacturing his own products two years later. After the introduction of the Evo engine, Harley-Davidson’s popularity exploded in Europe.

Fred started to import hundreds of bikes a year from the US, customizing them in his unique style and then selling them to customers throughout the European market. Always loving a challenge and striving to be the best, he started to build ground-up custom bikes and presented them to the world at the legendary Bike Shows like Rats Hole and Boardwalk Shows in Daytona Beach, FL.

Competing among the best talent in the world, Fred started amassing numerous Best of Show trophies, along with the respect and recognition of his American peers. He loved the excitement and competition and it only drove him to keep evolving. Fred introduced fabrications that

Evo engine with two front cylinders, hubless front and rear wheels and hidden brake and secondary drive systems.

Kodlin Motorcycles, under Fred’s leadership and vision for over 36 years, has built a reputation for unique hybrid designs. Being inspired by both American and European influences, Kodlin bikes and accessories have distinct form and functional characteristics recognizable as implicitly Kodlin.

Fred continues to drive the daily operations at Kodlin Motorcycles at its headquarters in Germany and is involved in every bike build and product life cycle. His skills in the fab and metal shop are unmatched.

In 2020 another dream came true for Fred when Kodlin USA was incorporated with its headquarters in Morgan Hill, California. Besides winning many Bike Shows and awards, Fred is particularly proud to have his son Len now blazing his own creative path within the Kodlin Motorcycles team and continuing the Kodlin legacy.

The US and particularly the Black Hills, feel like a second home to Fred. He’s been attending Sturgis Bike Week since the late 80’s and riding with his fellow Hamsters since 2004.



Being inducted into the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame is an incredible and unbelievable honor for Fred, a seemingly intangible accolade as he started out and steadily built and achieved his dreams. Fred lives his life going against the grain and to be recognized and celebrated in the Motorcycle Hall of Fame where he can serve as inspiration for generations of riders to come, will be forever cherished.





LEGISLATIVE NEWS FROM THE MRF–
Arizona has had a good state legislative session so far this year. As of this writing, we are still awaiting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. So, we are still working to make sure infrastructure funding is made available.

We didn’t really have to “kill” many bills except for the ongoing CARB emissions bills that get introduced every year. We had two introduced this session. Both were killed almost immediately.

CLASS OF 2021 AMA INDUCTEES


Dave Arnold worked for American Honda from the mid-1970s through 2013, developing some of the greatest talents in the sport and helping forge the program’s legendary dominance in AMA Motocross and Supercross. Arnold contributed to 60 titles on factory and factory-supported teams. Arnold’s talents transcended race operations to research and development, resulting in advancements in production motorcycles that impacted motorcyclists all over the world, and will continue to do so for decades to come.

Nancy Davidson, wife of Willie G. Davidson, was one of the most recognized women who had a positive impact on the motorcycle community. She contributed to charity rides and support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association through the Harley-Davidson Dealer network. As a strong advocate for the AMA, she espoused the freedom and adventure of the motorcycle lifestyle and influenced ridership across the globe. Mrs. Davidson passed away in July 2021.

Gary Denton won the AMA ATV Grand National Champion for eight consecutive years, excelling in both motocross and dirt track and establishing himself as perhaps the most dominant ATV racers in the history of the sport. Denton also founded, along with his family, Denton Racing to provide ATV-related services, parts and accessors to his fellow racers.




Tommy Hays was the most successful Class C dirt tracker prior to World War II, and arguably the most successful racer from the pre-Grand National Championship era (1933-1953) who is not yet inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Even though he died at an AMA National in 1941, Hays’ seven AMA National TT wins are still the fourth most ever in AMA history.

Loretta Lynn
Since 1982, country music icon and superstar Loretta Lynn has continuously hosted the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., known as Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. For the past 39 years, she has welcomed the AMA’s youngest and brightest amateur athletes for the weeklong annual national motocross championship – an event known all over the globe as the “world’s greatest motocross vacation.”

Scott Plessinger was one of the top off-road racers of the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was a four-time AMA national champion with two Grand National Cross County titles (1994 and 1995) and two AMA National Hare Scrambles titles (1989 and 1992). The Hamilton, Ohio, resident had 41 national event wins competing on KTMs.

Kenny Tolbert is the second-most successful tuner in AMA Grand National history, behind legendary tuner and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Legend Bill Werner. Tolbert-tuned motorcycles have claimed eleven AMA Grand National Championship, 117 AMA Grand National wins, six AMA 600cc Championships and 31 AMA 600cc wins, since 1988.

Ryan Villopoto, from Poulsbo, Wash., is one of the greatest champions in AMA Motocross and Supercross, competing in the professional series from 2005 to 2014, winning five AMA Motocross and four AMA Supercross National Championships. Immediately after turning pro, Villopoto won three straight AMA Motocross Lites Championships and one AMA Supercross Lites title. Then, after moving up to the premier class, Villopoto won four consecutive AMA Supercross Championships to close out his career. Throughout his career, Villopoto racked up 31 outdoor national wins and 41 AMA Supercross main event wins.







HELMET LAW RUMOR IN COLORADO–
Since the end of our legislative session there have been talks of CDOT wanting to push some legislator to bring up a mandatory helmet law for everyone.

This is supposedly because last year’s mc death total was a new high at 139. We are keeping our ears open and have some “friendlies” in the legislature who will give
us a heads up. Hopefully this is just another bad rumor, but as we all know, this is no time to let our guard down.

HERO MotoCorp opens booking for next batch of Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250—

Synopsis: In October last year, Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson announced a partnership for the Indian market. As per the licensing pact, HeroMotoCorp has taken over the exclusive distribution rights of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, parts and merchandise in India after the iconic American motorcycle maker pulled out of the Indian market.

September 5: Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp on Sunday announced opening of bookings for the next batch of Harley-Davidson adventure tourer bike ‘Pan America’ 1250 after the first lot completely sold out. The company also said that the bookings for all the 13 existing models and the Sportster S are currently open, along with the expansion of customer touch-points and service centres for Harley Davidson.

Hero MotoCorp now has an expanded network of 14 full-fledged dealerships and seven authorised service centres across the country, exclusively for Harley-Davidson customers, it said in a release.

“The Pan America 1250 is one of the most anticipated motorcycles of 2021. Considering it is Harley-Davidson’s first foray into the adventure-touring segment, the motorcycle has already generated immense excitement among customers. With the first shipment being completely sold out, it is truly heartwarming to see how the market has responded to the product,” said Ravi Avalur, Head of premium segment business unit at Hero MotoCorp said.

The bookings are open for the next lot of ‘Pan America’ 1250 after the first batch of the bikes has been completely sold out, Hero MotoCorp said, adding that the new Harley-Davidson Sportster S will be the next model to be launched in India towards the end of the year.

“Bookings for all the 13 existing models and the Sportster S are currently open,” it said.

Taking yet another significant step forward in their journey together, Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp have expanded the touchpoints for the customers in the country, said the release.

“With the Harley-Davidson India dealer network now fully operational, our next objective is to resume the HOG (Harley Owners Group) events. We are gearing up for the next annual Rally to be held in Goa between February 3-5, 2022,” he said.

by the Louisiana Law Institute on August 16th. They went over what had happened previously in the committee meetings and the legislature. There will be another committee meeting September 15, 2021 at 2 pm by Zoom.

They will tweak the bill and then have a meeting with the D.A. and Criminal Defense Attorneys on the Committee and the
head of the D.A. Association that
are the biggest oppositions. If we
cannot get the DAs on board the
chances of passage are small.

2) HB-150 Dead Red Bill, Rep.
Dodie Horton (R-LA). Will allow
motorcycles to proceed through
a Red Light under certain circumstances.
Current Status: Met with opposition from Secretary of DOT and State Police. The Bill was Voluntarily Deferred, Pending further
amendments.

3) HB-565 Hands Free While
Driving, Rep. Mike Huval (R-LA).
Proposed law prohibits all drivers
from calling, text messaging, or using social networking on a handheld
telecommunication device while
driving on a public road or highway.
Current Status: Failed on 1st vote.
Was put on the calendar for reconsideration where it failed to be brought back up before the session ended.

Maybe it’s because they don’t have positive projects. Why tear a statue down if you could build one you like. Hell, why burn a building down if you could fix one and build a shop in it or start an art gallery or build a chopper.



I find myself surrounded by projects including reading about the history of this region and exploring, which we struggle at because of the home projects and building the shop, finding out where the electrical lines run, get pricing on the siding and chasing down the permits.



You know why I’m pushing for the shop, don’t you? The winter is looming ahead and how can I build another motorcycle without a shop, goddammit. Each project has a mission: Improve, build and create. I love every step.

40 years of Fall Ride: Annual motorcycle rally returns to Tomahawk, Wisconsin next week

Tomahawk will once again feel the thunder as the 40th annual Tomahawk Veterans Fall Ride rumbles into the city next week.

Even after four decades, the annual motorcycle rally continues to draw thousands of visitors to Tomahawk, where rid­ers can take in the scenic sights of the Northwoods and enjoy everything the area has to offer. This year, a slate of events is set to take place from Thursday, Sept. 16 through Saturday, Sept. 18.

If you’re looking to kick off Fall Ride with a bit of tradition, look no further than the Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Bonfire and Brat Fry.

The event, featuring brats, cold beverages and live music by Brian McLaughin, is set to take place at SARA Park on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

All riders are invited to take part in the Thunder Parade on Friday night. Lineup for the parade starts at the Tomahawk School District complex at 5 p.m., with departure at 6 p.m. Riders will wind their way along area backroads before returning to downtown Tomahawk, where W. Wisconsin Ave. will be lined with spectators watching the parade roar through town.

Tomahawk Main Street, Inc., is taking the helm for this year’s downtown festivities.

Vendors will be set up on 2nd and 3rd Streets, and live music can be found downtown throughout the rally.

Mike McAbee will be performing by the food and beer tents on Friday, Sept. 17, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Friday Night Street Dance on the east end of Wisconsin Ave. will feature Killing Rapunzel, who will take the stage after the Thunder Parade on Friday, Sept. 17.

Live music by the food and beer tents on Saturday, Sept. 18 will be provided by Marty Frei, who is set to perform from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Bryan Anderson and Older Budwiser will perform at the east end of Wisconsin Ave. from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by KIST, a KISS tribute band, taking the stage for the Saturday Night Street Dance from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

At the west end of W. Wisconsin Ave., Fusion will provide live music for Fall Ride goers to check out. Road Trip will take the stage at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17. On Saturday, Sept. 18, Kings of Radio will perform at 7 p.m.

El Jovenaso 2, 4 W. Wisconsin Ave., and Corner Pub, 8 W. Wisconsin Ave., will also each have live music during the rally.

Doug Kroening is set to take the stage at Corner Pub at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16. The Hucksters will play at Corner Pub on Friday, Sept. 17, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Influence will fill Corner Pub’s 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. time slot on Saturday, Sept. 18.

Jennifer Reisch Solo Acoustic is slated to perform at El Jovenaso 2 on Friday, Sept. 17, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The following day, Michael Saint will take the stage at El Jovenaso 2 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Three days’ worth of Fall Ride activites are scheduled to take place at SARA Park, 900 W. Somo Ave.

The events begin at noon on Thursday, Sept. 16, with merchandise vendor displays and sales, featuring leather, clothing, motorcycle products, jewelry, and leather sewing, as well as a variety of other products. Official Fall Ride merchandise will also be available for sale.

On Friday, Sept. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 18, Harley-Davidson will offer demo fleets, providing the opportunity a ride on any one of the 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Registration will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Merchandise vendors and displays and official Fall Ride merchandise, as well as food vendors and refreshments, will be available at SARA Park throughout the rally.

The 40th annual Fall Ride will once again see one of its staples bring the party to Bubba’s Campground, adjoining Nokomis Community Park.

Bubba’s Big Party will run from Monday, Sept. 13, through Saturday, Sept. 18.

Early Bird parties will be held each day from Monday, Sept. 13 through Thursday, Sept. 16, featuring a bonfire and live music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night. Bernie Thompson will perform on Monday, followed by Brad Emmanuel on Tuesday, Older Budwiser on Wednesday, and the Northwoods Skitchers on Thursday.

Friday, Sept. 17 is free to the public. A pancake breakfast will be served at the Nokomis Fire Department from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. A church service will be held at 9:30 a.m. The vending show kicks off at 10 a.m. and will run until close. The Best ‘80s Outfit Contest will take place at 10 p.m.

Friday will also see numerous live music acts. Mark Wayne will perform from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Levi Ballenger will take the stage from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by Madman’s Diary from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Nightrain from 10:30 p.m. to close.

Admission on Saturday Sept. 18 is $10 for those ages 17 and older, and free for those 16 and under. A pancake breakfast will again be held at the Nokomis Fire Department from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and a church service will take place at 9:30 a.m. The auto show, with free registration, will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., while the vending show will again run from 10 a.m. until close. Lawn mower, bar stool, and mud bog races will kick off at noon and end at 5 p.m. A burnout contest will be held at 3 p.m. Later in the evening, the Biker Butt Contest will take place at 11:30 p.m.

A full slate of music is lined up for Saturday, with Mark Wayne performing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by The Dukes from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hyde will take the stage from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with Storm closing out the night, performing from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

A blood drive, co-sponsored by St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and Tomahawk Community Bank, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, at St. Paul Church, 12 E. Wisconsin Ave., Tomahawk.

The blood drive will be held the mobile bus in the church’s secondary parking lot.

MILAN (Reuters) – Italian scooter maker Piaggio said on Monday it had set up a consortium with Honda Motor Co., KTM AG and Yamaha Motor Co. to encourage the use of swappable batteries for electric motorcycles and light electric vehicles.

The Swappable Batteries Motorcycle Consortium (SBMC) aims to broaden the use of light electric vehicles, such as scooters, mopeds and motorcycles, and support a more sustainable management of their batteries, a joint statement said.

It will focus on issues such as battery life, recharging times, infrastructure and costs and will work on defining international standard technical specifications for swappable batteries.

The companies in the consortium said they welcomed others joining them to extend standards to as many companies as possible.

“Urban mobility is going through a delicate transition moment towards electrification. Thanks to this consortium, motorbikes will keep their key role,” Piaggio Chief of Strategy and Product Michele Colaninno said.

Honda’s Motorcycle Operations Chief Officer Yoshishige Nomura said the consortium’s objectives aimed to make electric motorbikes more convenient for clients, as their “use on large scale can substantially contribute to the creation of a more sustainable society”.

Piaggio Group owns iconic two-wheeler brands such as Vespa, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, among others.

BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY Breaks the Norm With Striking Design and Advanced Tech

Of BMW’s 2021 IAA display, a very interesting one is the BMW i Vision AMBY, a peddle electric bicycle that boasts three speed ratings – 25 km/h for cycle tracks, 45 km/h for the city and 60 km/h for multi-lane roads (although, higher speeds would require a licence as well).

The i Vision AMBY also gets the rest of fancy EV features like geofencing which can be used for automatically adjusting its speed. It is one of five different concept vehicles with which the BMW Group is presenting at the IAA Mobility event.

One of the five concept vehicles showcased by BMW at IAA Mobility 2021 is truly innovative – neither a bike or a motorcycle, the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY blends the best of each category with advanced connectivity and geofencing technology.

BMW unveiled two electric vehicles with two wheels under the “Adaptive Mobility” (AMBY) concept. Both of them come with three speed levels for different types of road, and require an adequate driving license, insurance license plates, and a helmet for riding at maximum speed. Compared to the BMW i Vision AMBY that requires constant pedaling, the Motorrad Vision uses the throttle grip and features footrests instead of pedals, like a motorcycle.

According to BMW, while it resembles a bicycle, the new Motorrad Vision flaunts the features of a powerful motorbike, including an 830 mm-tall (32.6”) seat, a large bicycle fork, a small headlight with the U-shaped BMW Motorrad light signature, and the fact that it’s accelerated from the handlebars. However, at 65 kg (143 lbs), it’s lighter than typical motorbikes, which makes it more agile and manageable.

Instead of manually selecting the riding mode – 25 kph (15.5 mph) on cycle paths, 45 kph on inner-city roads (27.9 mph), 60 kph (37.2 mph) on multi-lane roads and out of town, geofencing technology and the HERE map service could be enough for automatically adjusting speed levels.

This way, the vehicle could determine the type of road and adjust the speed accordingly, without any intervention. Plus, the license plate would act as an innovative display, where the operating mode would be visible for the other road users.

The problem is that, at the moment, there’s no legal basis for this “modular speed concept”. This is where the Motorrad AMBY becomes a true pioneer, because it’s precisely intended to help bring out the legislation that will regulate this concept in the near future.

No future driving or riding experience can be envisioned without connectivity, and the BMW specially developed app allows the rider to activate the motorbike, while providing access to basic functions and status data.

While additional features such as an optimized ABS system or a tire pressure monitoring system could make the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY even safer and more efficient, this concept motorbike already reflects a truly innovative spirit that redefines the boundaries between bikes and motorcycles.

As a completely new concept between bicycle and motorbike, the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY taps into fresh possibilities for the innovative, urban mobility of the future. It is one of five different concept vehicles that the BMW Group will use at the IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich to showcase its vision of individual mobility in and around the urban setting.

Under the common umbrella of electric mobility, digitalisation and sustainability, these five pioneering concepts form a versatile and sustainably conceived mobility mix on two and four wheels that comprehensively addresses a highly diverse range of mobility needs.

BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY and BMW i Vision AMBY.

AMBY stands for “Adaptive Mobility”. The BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY and the BMW i Vision AMBY (see BMW i Vision AMBY press release) interpret the fundamental idea of adaptive urban mobility on two wheels based on differing facets. Both vehicles are electrically powered with three speed levels for different types of road. The drive allows up to 25 km/h on cycle paths, up to 45 km/h on inner-city roads and up to a top speed of 60 km/h on multi-lane roads and out of town. A helmet, insurance licence plates and the relevant driving licence are required to be able to travel at higher speeds, however. While the BMW i Vision AMBY as a high-speed pedelec requires constant pedalling in order to gain assistance from the electric drive, the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY is accelerated using the throttle grip and has footrests instead of pedals, as is typical of a motorcycle.

The modes available to the rider are stored in the app on the smartphone that connects to the respective AMBY vision vehicle.

Manual selection of the speed level is conceivable, as is detection of the road by means of geofencing technology, thereby allowing automatic adjustment of the top speed. As there is currently no legal basis for such a vehicle with a modular speed concept, the idea behind the AMBY vision vehicles is to prompt legislation that will enable this kind of set-up. In this way, the BMW Group is demonstrating that it will continue to be involved in providing mobility options in big cities in the future and offers innovative solutions.

New stimuli for emotional mobility on two wheels.

The design – the DNA of BMW Motorrad.

The BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY defies all existing categories: visually akin to the world of bicycles, it is a motorbike at heart. Its slender proportions promise ruggedness and adventure, while its design suggests clear echoes of the expressive style and layout of an BMW Enduro motorbike. With chunky treads on both the 26-inch front wheel, which has a thinner tyre, and the 24-inch rear wheel with its more rounded tyre, the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY clearly shows that it is both willing and able to go anywhere. The firmly integrated seat with a height of 830 mm is just as typical a motorbike feature as the fixed footrests.

The seat also acts as a design element over the flat, rising upper frame section, creating a striking flyline. This produces a completely new, fresh look for BMW Motorrad – a link between the e-bike and motorbike world.
The large energy storage unit and drive unit form a dark graphic block at the centre of the frame.

The large-dimensioned bicycle fork on the front wheel features protectors and gives the entire front section a more massive, powerful look. A small headlight with the U-shaped BMW Motorrad light signature is a clear reference to the roots of the concept, as is the double LED element as a tail light. Another BMW Motorrad feature is that the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY is accelerated from the handlebars, as is customary on a motorbike.
With a total weight of just 65 kg, the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY is significantly lighter than other motorbikes, ensuring it offers excellent manoeuvrability and agility.

Colour and material concept featuring depth and unexpected details.

As compared to a conventional combustion engine, the concept of the electric drive in the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY means there is little in the way of visible mechanics.
For this reason, its technical heart is deliberately disguised and showcased in a striking machine-like style. This accentuates the highly elaborated colour and material concept, which goes well beyond the traditional dark underlying colour scheme and use of white highlights.

In its use of materials, the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY cross-references two other concept vehicles that will also see their world premiere at the IAA Mobility 2021: The BMW i Vision Circular and the BMW i Vision AMBY. The trim material used on the energy storage unit – known as “floating grey polymers” – is also used in the bumper of the BMW i Vision Circular. It consists of recycled plastic and can itself be fed back into the material cycle at the end of the product lifecycle. Meanwhile the material used for the seat is also to be found in the saddle of the BMW i Vision AMBY and in the tyres of the BMW i Vision Circular. Based on recycled plastic granulate and sporting a fascinating terrazzo look, it demonstrates how several materials can be given a second life with a new form and function.

Asymmetrical design of the sides of the vehicle.

In keeping with the unexpected, self-assured character of the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY, its two sides have deliberately been designed distinctively. On both sides, the white “AMBY” lettering catches the eye above the light-coloured drive unit, making a striking statement as a stylised graphic on the trim of the energy storage unit. While the lettering on the left gains additional visual depth from a colourfully shimmering, iridescent drop shadow, the inscription on the right appears deliberately without a drop shadow. Below the energy storage unit there are two iridescent elements that add a further accentuation.

On the right-hand side of the vehicle, three small turquoise blue tubes visibly emerge from the silhouette, clearly alluding to the electric heart of the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY. Next to this is a quote by Markus Schramm, Head of BMW Motorrad: „Electro-mobility will be very significant for the future of motorcycling. We foresee a slew of upcoming products with a focus on electric propulsion, particularly in the field of urban mobility. And I’m not only thinking of classic scooters here, but also of alternative modern, emotional products. Electro-mobility on two wheels needs to be really fun and adventurous and BMW is committed to developing corresponding products.”

On closer inspection, the interplay between the technoid pixel font with the classic serif font reflects a great attention to detail at several points: together these bridge the gap between the past and the future – just like the vision vehicle itself. The coordinates on the right are a reference to the BMW Motorrad Design Studio in Munich, where the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY came into being. On the opposite side, the letters “AMBY” also appear in Morse code, but with dashes visualising the dots. In their perfect interplay, all these carefully conceived details create a unique graphic and a highly contemporary sense of style.

The smartphone as the key.

The specially developed app enables the user to activate the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY for riding, read in their stored driving licence classes and make use of the appropriate insurance cover on an on-demand basis as required. In this way, the app performs the classic key function while also making use of the customary identification options provided by the smartphone such as Face ID. Basic functions and status queries (e.g. current charge status) are available as in the BMW App. Further developments and adjustments to the software can be provided to customers at any time via over-the-air updates.
The smartphone shown in the vision vehicle charges inductively on the magnetic holder in the rider’s lower field of vision. These connectivity options would also allow anti-theft protection and the freely programmable immobiliser to be offered as basic functions.
And the answer to the question “Where is my BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY?” would be just a click away on the smartphone, too.

Geofencing as a key technology.

Instead of choosing the riding mode yourself, geofencing technology combined with the detailed HERE map service could provide the required parameters for automatically adjusting speed levels (25/45/60 km/h) and the matching insurance cover. This technology enables the vehicle to detect the type of road, cycle path or slow-traffic area currently being used so that the maximum permitted speed can be automatically adjusted. In this way, the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY would transform from a vehicle similar to an S-pedelec to something that is more motorcycle-inspired. The user cannot override the mode. The required licence plate takes the form of an innovative display surface, so the mode selected at any given time can be easily recognised and read by other road users.

Additional technological innovations are conceivable for the BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY, too: an optimised ABS system could further increase safety, as could an automatic high beam or brake light assistant, as well as daytime running lights. A tyre pressure monitoring system such as the one already available as an optional extra in BMW Group motorcycles is also conceivable. Finally, potential safety features could also include a distance radar with a range of up to 140 m to provide a visual and acoustic warning in the app when there is a vehicle approaching from behind.

The BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY shows one possible manifestation of what the modern, urban mobility of tomorrow might look like. It is intended as a blueprint to drive forward conversations about future-oriented travel in cities.

Second summer with Corona, Southside MC Est 88 Sweden had to be flexible once more with their gathering of long forks. Instead of a hotspot for the show, they made it mobile.

Saturday 21st of Aug, 100+ bikes, choppers and pre 84 were welcomed for the ride. However anyone was invited at the clubhouse noon to 3PM, for burgers and a beer.

Former Milwaukee mansion of Harley-Davidson co-founder William S. Harley was recently on the market.

The former mansion of Harley-Davidson co-founder William S. Harley in Washington Heights was recently on the market for the first time in decades.

The home at 4906 W. Washington Boulevard was built in 1916 and designed by architect Charles Valentine. The original estimated cost was $8,000, according to the Wisconsin Historical Society.

The Harley family moved into the home a couple of years after it was built.

Harley, along with his friend Arthur Davidson and Arthur’s brother Walter Davidson, founded the motorcycle brand.

Harley and the Davidsons built their first motorcycle in 1903. By 1913, the company had built almost 13,000 motorcycles.

The vintage Mediterranean revival mansion was listed for sale at $399,000.

The 3,821 square-foot home has six bedrooms and four bathrooms. It also features a sun room, grand foyer, formal dining room, fireplace and indoor fountain.

Throughout the home are hardwood floors, French doors and arched windows.

While the home is spacious (sitting a .28-acre lot), there is a lot of work that needs to be done on it. The electrical system needs updating. The bathrooms are all vintage tile with pedestal sinks.

The current owners lived in the home for decades and moved out a couple months ago. The mansion will be sold in “as-in” condition, according to the listing.

The property went under contract Tuesday, said the listing agent Mike Argeropoulos of Riverwest Realty. Argeropoulos said the buyer intends to preserve the home.

Argeropoulos said more than 200 people came to the open house last weekend. Multiple offers were received, Argeropoulos said.

The last time this property was on the market was 1976 when John and Camille Shaw bought it for $44,500, according to city records.

It begins with the story of the legendary Suzuki Hayabusa. When that beast launched back in 1999, it triggered a hurricane of anxiety among various manufacturers – and it all came down to the top speed of the bike – a stunning 194 mph.

The Hayabusa represented a quantum leap in speed and made it the fastest motorcycle you could buy and ride on the streets. In fact, it took the title away from the already insanely fast Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, and it did it by a startling 14 mph.

In answer, Kawasaki announced the creation of the Ninja ZX-12R, and it promised a top speed of more than 200 blistering miles per hour. That announcement led regulators to consider tamping down the lust for speed among manufacturers, and it also led to what’s come to be known as The Gentleman’s Agreement among the top motorcycle manufacturers across the globe.

As the story goes, the “agreement” called on manufacturers to set the upper limit on motorcycle speed at 200 mph. Since then, that agreement has been violated to varying degrees, and here are some of the motorcycles that flirt with – and exceed – the barrier posited by The Gentlemen’s Agreement.

The Yamaha YZF-R1M, which purports to achieve a top end of 185.7 mph, has itself become legendary for its on and off-track precision and power. The R1 line and the street legal R1 models achieve their punch following a power-and-less-bulk formula.

Offering lightweight carbon-fiber construction and powered by an explosive 998cc, liquid-cooled “cross-plane” inline-four, the R1 creates 200 hp and offers 89.2 lb-ft torque. When that kind of juice moves through its 6-Speed manual, the R1M does 0-60 mph in a snot-loosening 2.3 seconds. One of these beasts will set you back just over $26,000 USD.

Next up on this rogues gallery is the KTM 1290 Super Duke R. This KTM is a naked hypersport bit of lunacy that packs a 1301 cc, 75-degree V-twin motor into a novel frame. The 1290 Super Duke R wacks the limits of physics to the tune of 180 hp and cranks out 103 lb-ft of torque.

At a svelte 462 lbs. dry weight., the Super Duke R covers 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds and is limited to 186 mph. If you must have one, this KTM will set you back right around $18,000 USD.

The Hayabusa is back, and the 3rd Generation variant uses the same 1340cc inline-four motor to produce a healthy 188 hp and 110 ft-lbs of torque and covers 0-60 mph in a serviceable 3.2 seconds.

While it’s now restricted to 186 mph top speed, it does its progenitors proud. It will be priced at just north of $22,000 USD.

The BMW S1000RR represented a huge technological leap for the time, and when it launched in 2009, it was packed to the brim with electronics and rider-assist features unheard of even for the sophisticated ‘ultra bikes’ of the time.

The latest iteration, the 2021 BMW S1000RR is powered by a water/oil-cooled inline-4 motor that generates a stunning 205 hp and 83 lb-ft of torque.

In ‘Race Pro Mode’ it covers 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 192 mph. All that performance does not come cheap and the sticker price is expected to come in around $30,000.

An Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory is a sublime example of Italian design and engineering and an amazing achievement when you consider the fact that the has only been in the game since the end of the Second World War. Aprilia is dedicated to motorcycle sports and they use the competitive anvil to forge their lightning-fast and supple machines.

The RSV4 1100 Factory is powered by a 1099cc V4 engine which turns out 217 hp and 90 lb-ft of torque. And perhaps most critically, it weighs just 390 lbs and that finely-balanced power-to-weight ratio means it can do 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and achieve a reported top speed of 198.8 mph. The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory sports an MSRP of $25,999.

Known for the subtlety and innovative character of their designs, Ducati remains iconic for their blend of finish, style and pure power. The Panigale V4R combines carbon fiber and their signature desmodromic engine, Desmosedici Stradale R 998 cc Inline-4, produces 221hp straight out of the factory and you can ramp that power up to 234 hp with the addition of an Akrapovic full-racing exhaust.

The Desmosedici Stradale motor puts out 92 lb-ft of torque and travels from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds before ultimately achieving a top speed of 199 mph. You can be the proud owner of a 2021 Ducati Panigale V4R for just under $23,000.

As we near the top of this list, we find a pair of Kawasakis perched near the pinnacle. The ZH2 and the Ninja H2 are both said to be capable of 200+ mph, and these novel supercharger-boosted motorcycles feature 998cc inline-4 motors that crank out 200 hp and 101 lb-ft of torque.

The ZH2 with the ability to cover 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 200 mph also represents a devil’s bargain of sorts. For 2021, Kawasaki ZH2 is priced at just over $17,500.

The lunatic Kawasaki Ninja H2R – with a stated top speed of 248 mph, is a track-only machine and therefore not allowed on our list. The H2R does hold the record holder for top end speed as it reached a snot-loosening 250 mph in just 26 seconds. For 2021, the Kawasaki Ninja H2 is priced at $29,500.

But the bike at the top of the list of mad-dog bikes you can ride on the street belongs to the Lightning LS-218.

Electric motorcycles are clearly the future, and the neck snapping torque offered up by an electric motor is surely attractive to wild fools in search of speed at all costs.

The Lightning LS-218 is powered by a 380V electric powerplant coupled to any of three battery packs: 12, 15, or 20 kWh. At its top tuning settings, this nearly silent monster churns out 200 hp and 168 lb-ft of torque and can reach a top speed of 218 mph.

Outlander ‘s Sam Heughan posted a picture of himself posing on a Harley Davidson as he holidayed in LA.

The 41-year-old actor has been enjoying some down time since Outlander wrapped back in June.

He recently travelled to Mexico and before heading into the US where today he posted a picture of himself riding around LA on a plush Harley Davidson bike.

He wrote on Instagram: “Been cruising in the California sunshine! Thank you @harleydavidson for the loan of these sweet wheels. Nothing beats driving on these awesome bikes, to some good music and an epic landscape! @harleydavidson_uk @westcoastharley #harleydavidson #motorcycle #motorbike #ad.”

Back in July, Sam posted a similar Harley picture but instead of LA, with the stunning backdrop of the Scottish Highlands.

The picture was for a new campaign for his Sassenach whisky brand.

Sam donned a leather jacket as he perched on the Harley – with the number plate ‘WH15KEE’, and over looked a stunning view of hills.

In August last year, the actor passed his motorbike driving test in Rutherglen after taking a lessons for over a year.

He has since been out and about in Glasgow on his bike and now he posted the new snap in the Highlands while visiting for a work shoot.
