The Sturgis Buffalo Chip has chosen to honor retired Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods and former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty for the heroic patriotism and courage shown in Benghazi, where they sacrificed their lives while saving the lives of many others. Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines riders Ed Krawiec and Andrew Hines qualified a pair of Harley-Davidson® V-Rod® motorcycles for the Sunday elimination rounds of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries at Route 66 Raceway. The Santa Barbara, California resident beat every two-wheeled internal combustion competitor at this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, topping the 14,115-foot peak in 10:00.694. That time made him the fastest bike and the ninth place finisher, overall. Adam, named after the animatronic robot in the Real Steel movie, was made by Tom Arndt of Manly. Arndt’s creation was part of the displays at Saturday’s “Beat the Heat” summer motorcycle rally at the National Guard Armory in Mason City. “These are all just spare parts that he cut apart and made a robot,” said Tom’s wife Jonelle, Manly.
