Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Experience for October 2013

Ā The Indian Papoose Motor Scooter The Indian Papoose motor scooter was developed after World War II and was based on an earlier motor scooter called the Welbike, which was actually built for the British Army. After the war, John Dolphin ā€“ who had been an engineer on the Welbike project ā€“ saw an opportunity to re-design these little scooters for the civilian market.Ā  Seeing a need for cheap transportation after the war, Dolphin partnered with Brockhouse engineering to create the British Corgi.Ā  Many of these motor scooters were sent to the United States and re-branded as the Indian Papoose. Why We Ride Comes To So-Cal

Why We Ride will begin a one-week run on November 1st in Los Angeles at the AMC Puente Hills 20, 1560 South Azusa Avenue, City of Industry, Calif. Why We Ride is a story about who we are. Individuals with a desire to dream, discover, and explore. Seeking a life outside our daily confinements and sharing those moments together. Itā€™s a story about the journey, not the destination. Motorcycles represent the milestones of our lives. From a kidā€™s dream come true, to a retireeā€™s return to freedom. Venues Fight To Keep Bikers Coming

From the Daytona Beach News Journal If you've noticed Biketoberfest crowds seem to be smaller than they were a decade ago, you're not alone. The events' organizers ā€” the Halifax Area Advertising Authority for Biketoberfest and the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce for Bike Week ā€” have for years claimed these attendance figures. However, because the events aren't ticketed or gated, exact attendance figures aren't available. Jeffrey Hentz, the ad authority's executive director, and members of the business community believe that bike event attendance now isn't what it was a decade ago. Tourism officials who put on the yearly motorcycle rally ā€” the second of the area's two signature annual bike events ā€” say that a shaky economy, new competition ...
