High Roller Cures His Gold Fever for $850,000

Danish custom bike builderĀ Lauge Jensen, just sold to an undisclosed buyer a motorcycle for $850,000 after showing it at events in Monaco and Dubai. The motorcycle, called "Goldfinger," is entirely plated with 24-karat gold and covered with 250 small diamonds totaling more than 7 carats. The seat is upholstered with crocodile skin and each of the bike's partsā€”859 of themā€”were individually gold-plated.

This week in Karachi, Pakistan, police punctured the tires of 100 motorcycles parked at Dolmen City Mall car parking, claiming that the move would serve as punishment for those who left their motorcycles unlocked. Several commuters gathered in the parking lot to check their tires in the afternoon. ā€œWe came to know that most of the motorcycles in the parking lot had been punctured when we left our office building during a fire drill,ā€ said Nashit Munshi, a junior product manager at a private company whose offices are located inside the building.
