GET READY TO VOTE THURSDAY NEWS for Thursday, April 3rd, 2014

Hey,

This is an interesting day. I was hit with a 24-Hour Mung this week and missed Monday. It’s taken me all week to catch up with e-mail and such.

We are not heavily political this week. Rogue is out of town, so he hasn’t barraged me with news reports. I mentioned the EPA being sued for not doing their job, well get this from Forbes Magazine.

The EPA has a jihad against the evil coal industry although there is no scientific data to support it. And they are set to ban production and sale of 80 percent of current wood-burning stoves. I’ve also heard they plan to attach your backyard barbecues. Incredible. I just found out that a buddy was asked by a friend to handle a small welding job in his marina parking lot. Our friend, who will remain nameless, was arrested for welding without a permit. He is now a felon.

Remember what I said a month ago about control freaks and who pays them? We do. Incredible!

On a positive note: Bill Hayes, the lovely Jennifer Thomas, the mastermind editor, and I, are building a motorcycle book booth for the Los Angeles Times Book Fair at the USC campus next weekend. This effort is sponsored by Motorbooks. It’s open to the public free of charge.

We are working our butts off to create intriguing displays and fun stuff.

Let’s hit the news:

The Bikernet Thursday News is sponsored by Cycle Source Magazine.

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE: If you are not a veteran send this to those that you know who are, or to those who may know veterans. (The 2014 United States elections will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. During this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested in this election. Get out and VOTE!)

A movement has been started by our armed forces to get out the vote in 2014. They are organizing themselves, but this can be done by all of us. The President, the Commander in Chief, has made the Rules of Engagement (ROE) so difficult, that our troops are often killed before they can even get permission to fight. Nothing has been done to stop our troops from being murdered by the Afghanis they are training, either. Now, the President wants the US to sign on to the UN’s International Criminal Court(ICC), which would allow the UN’s ICC to arrest and try US troops for War Crimes, without the legal protections guaranteed under US Law, and from which there is no appeal.

The President, with his Democratic control of the Senate, has nearly all the power. If the Non-Establishment Republicans, and Conservatives, can take back the Senate in 2014, our troops can once again be protected from unnecessary danger. Please consider this, and send it on to your mailing lists. Thank You

Interestingly enough, when GWB was president you heard about the military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan almost daily. With Obama in the White House, the mainstream media has been strangely quiet.

More than 1,000 American soldiers have lost their lives in Afghanistan in the last 27 months. This is more than the combined total of the nine years before. Thirty have died in August. During the last month, over 50 additional NATO and US servicemen have been murdered, inside jobs by those who are hired to be a force for good in Afghanistan.

QUICK, OPEN THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY–
Little Johnny is in primary school at the back of the class. The teacher notices him wriggling about and scratching his crotch. She walks over to him and asks what’s going on.

The little lad, all embarrassed, whispers that he has just been circumcised and that he is very itchy. The teacher tells him to go to her office and phone his mum to ask what to do.

Five minutes later he returns and sits back in his chair. Suddenly there is a commotion at the back of the class. The teacher walks over and is very surprised to see the little lad with his chopper hanging out. “What are you doing young man!” She sternly asks.

“Well, my mum said if I can stick it out ’till lunch she’ll come and pick me up”.

FREEDOM WORKS IN COLORADO–
It’s already (clearly) been a landmark year for Colorado, America’s first legal weed state. Legalization has been a full-fledged success, other states are now following (or hoping to follow suit), and the state is reaping in the rewards of its marijuana sales tax.

And while Governor Hickenlooper may have had some initial hesitations (and resisted/opposed) legalization, the trend-setting legislator is thankfully not content standing still with just legal weed. And after seeing the national attention garnered by legalization–and the estimated total north of 100 million dollars from cannabis tax dollars, he’s seen the light.

Because wow, Hickenlooper wants to take the next step toward justice: he wants his state’s marijuana prisoners (yep, they still exist) to be freed from the chains and have their records cleared so they can go on living normal lives–and not be stalked by the shadow of prohibition.

Thus, he’s proposed a bill that would change just that–and begin emptying America’s overcrowded prisons, many of which are polluted by innocent cannabis enthusiasts.

“Under the new bill, convicts currently serving time on marijuana related charges will be released and the crime expunged from their records.”

From the article, it’s unclear if only low-level offenders will be released–you’d assume traffickers will remain behind bars–but either way, it’s another revolutionary move.

“The Governor has a strong background of following his heart and doing what is right and this is just a natural progression. While the US is one of the only countries in the world that does NOT guarantee retroactive ameliorative relief in sentencing, the plan proposed by Gov. Hickenlooper would free those currently serving and simply seal all records of ‘personal’ pot possession. Sealing the records effectively makes the arrest disappear to background checks. This doesn’t just impact the offender in Colorado, it prevents that record from showing up no matter where that user goes – even if pot is illegal in the state, making it easier for former convicts to find employment.” [NationalReport.net]

And there you have it. The one state changing America–and the world’s–long and twisted history with cannabis looks poised to take it yet ANOTHER step further, and just generally continues to keep it oh so real.

But always remember: we’ve still got 49 more states to go, lots of laws to be changed, and moves to make. There’s still thousands upon thousands of Americans in jail for weed-related offenses, and in restrictive states across the countries, our people are still being jailed and persecuted for the love of the plant.

Colorado has staked its claim as the place where the revolution is finally coming to fruition–and the revolution will be rolled, smoked, and blown in the face of our detractors.

Because sooner rather than later, no marijuana criminal in America will feel the specter of their “illegal activity” hindering their lives and job opportunities throughout the rest of their lives. As way say A LOT: it’s a matter of when, not if.

Morality always wins.

UNCLE MONKEY ON SHOP CLEANING DAY–No matter how hard we try to keep our work space clean sometimes it gets away from us. Multiple projects in varying degrees of completion can start to add to the clutter on and around our work benches. My shed is smaller then I need and with three bikes being juggled it is a dance shuffling this way, shimmy that way between the bikes ducking and weaving around bars and saddlebags.

I will most likely need the air hose over by the overhead door again in a half hour so it gets left laying on the floor to save the headache of reeling it back in around everything. But it adds another obstacle to the course, something else to trip over.

For the most part I’ve been damn good at keeping my new and improved garage a lot cleaner than the old space, but yesterday it got to the point I needed a shop day, a day dedicated to putting everything back in its place even if I was still in the midst of using it.

It took a couple of hours but the difference is night and day in comparison. The majority of the items were orphaned items, things that still needed a place but didn’t have a home yet.

A new shop is always a challenge. You have a good idea where everything should go but in practice that spot may not be the best spot. A good example is my bench grinder. I mounted on its own stand and made it mobile to move freely around the shop, but as I reassembled tool boxes and benches I put it against the wall near the light switches to use it. I’m happy to say that is its home now.

The same couldn’t be said about my multiple boxes of wires. Moved here, moved there, they always seemed in the way. They were occupying the top of the filing cabinet but it was a precarious balancing act. In cleaning I noticed the small space next to the air compressor. Some things could be thrown away, some sold, it left the perfect space for the large hand tool box that I had picked up to store said wire in.

Keeping projects organized and separated in crucial. Sure some things get overlapped like the Road King’s front fender become the rear fender on the HondaMatic, but it’s all part of the creative process. Sometimes you just need to clean the space to see the space.

New TECH Bikernet Reader Comment!-– S&S Twin Cam Gear Drive Set Installed

http://www.bikernet.com/pages/story_detail.aspx?id=1800

I didn’t see anything about crank run out in this article. S&S recommends .003 as max but I don’t know if that’s right or even necessary. How to measure said run out would have been nice. Otherwise a great article.

–Ron Zimmerman
Marana, AZ

Here’s the scoop on gear drive cams. Yes! You do need to check pinion shaft run-out!

Since we are driving the cams with gears, we need to keep the center to center distance between those gears constant to maintain the correct gear lash. Gears need a certain amount of lash (clearance) to operate correctly, but not too much. The pinion gear is mounted on the end of the pinion shaft, so if the pinion shaft is perfectly straight, the centers of the gears will always be the same distance apart, and gear lash will remain constant throughout the crank rotation.

The more Total Indicated Run-out (TIR) the pinion shaft has, the tighter the gears will be in one position and the looser they will be 180° later in the crank rotation. So the gear lash alternately gets tight and loose.

Loose gears will be noisy, but that won’t break anything. The trouble starts when the pinion shaft run-out is too great (more than .003″). When this condition exists, the pinion gear will be banged into the rear cam drive gear once each crank rotation. These are hardened steel gears, and they don’t have much give. If you keep smacking them together like that, the teeth will eventually break. You don’t want that to happen.

A quick check of the 2014 service manual shows the spec for a pinion shaft run-out in the case to .010″ max. The stock chain drive, whether it has spring tensioners as in 1999-’06 or hydraulic tensioners, as in 2007 and later, can suck it up and not break anything when the pinion shaft run-out is excessive. You’ll still have a shaker engine, you will loose power, and the shoes may wear out, but it still runs. It is a mystery why some engines have shoe failure at a fairly low mileage, while others go quite a long time.

Warning! Gratuitous Self Promotion Alert!

If you need to replace your flywheels, S&S has a new three-piece flywheel assembly that is not only WAY stronger than stock, but is also guaranteed to be true within .0005″ (one half of one thousandth of an inch). Just sayin’…

QUICK, New Bikernet Reader Comment!–5-Ball Bagger Project Bike — Wrecked Bagger Part 1

The riding community has been aware of this for many years, why doesn’t Harley do some R and D to find out why, and fix the problem.

Pretty sure there have been many people hurt, and worse, by this problem, a serious design flaw!

Harley has obviously dropped the ball on rider safety!

They have in many respects addressed the issue, although it took them a couple of decades to test solutions. Recently they installed larger axles, then recently rebuilt the frame entirely. I’m sure they are testing constantly. Follow Krash Kranzler’s series of articles for more solutions, such as: Custom Cycle Engineering’s swing arm bearing system and their rubber mounts. We will study Strictly Hawgs new True Track system, and much, much more.

AFT CUSTOMS AND TATALIE JACKSON BRINGS CUSTOM BIKES TO THE FLATS AND RACE TRACKS–Four Time Bike Building Champion and Celebrity Racer Bridge Gap Between Custom and Race

AFT Customs is the pioneer in the metric field.

AFT Customs has been invited to many of the top invitation only shows including Artistry in Iron, Art of the Chopper and many more. AFT Customs is home to the AFT Custom Girls, a modeling agency that is highly involved in the building process from motor assembly to welding and fabrication.

“AFT Customs has proven that we build beautiful customs and components”, said Giuffra, owner of AFT Customs. “By aligning with Natalie Jackson, we will prove that the bikes also are track and race worthy. Natalie will help to round out our land speed racing team and add additional experience in racing and media training.”

Natalie Jackson, a popular fixture in the motorcycle scene from racing to motorcycle reviews, has appeared on TV and in magazines and has represented some of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. Jackson began her racing career in 2003 by drag racing on quarter mile tracks on a Harley Davidson Night Train. Since then she has competed in numerous Northern and Southern California Regional Supermoto events and in March of 2005 won the Southern Supermotard-USA Lightweight Championship.

Later Jackson began working with top motorcycle manufactures reviewing their motorcycles. Jackson has reviewed virtually everything with two wheels including riding Buell’s Lightning and Fire bolt at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Yamaha’s R6 at Willow Springs (also known as the Fastest Turn in the West). She has even reviewed the Yamaha Road Star by cruising through the foothills of Virginia.

“AFT Customs and I will work together to bring racing to the custom world and the custom world to the racetrack and land speed trials. It is a very exciting time for the two companies and the increased visibility of the alliance will help to benefit us and the many companies and products we represent.”

In less than six months your 5-Ball Racing Team will be heavy on the salt, alkaline water and racing fuel one more time in the quest for “the” magic number. “Your” indisputable magic number when achieved will be faster than any man has had the pleasure of recording on an official Bonneville Salt Flats timing slip…….

Without a Team this would not be possible….Dr. Willie has many hours in our never ending search for nirvana on the salt. Thanks Doctor!

In 2006, I borrowed Willie’s boots and chaps to make two passes in the Run What Ya Brung category at the Bub Speed Trials. Rode in on my 95-inch, 2004 Dyna road bike with 75,000 road tested miles. During the three previous months I rolled over 17,000 care free miles. My first pass out recorded a 121.966 mph effort. Came in to the pits jumpin’ out of my skin and called Duncan Keller for a little advice. Tuck in your toes, your elbows and your knees until your nuts hurt on the next pass then call me with the results. Sure enough, my second pass with the squeeze on, recorded an official 134.361 mph pass. The not so new tires were low on air (checked on the way to San Jose, after the two passes). The air cleaner needed cleaned,…but the salt flats hook was set.

This past week we delivered the Raycer to the shop of www.twinsturbo.com in Long Beach, CA., located less than 30 minutes from Bikernet Headquarters front door. The twins, Eric K and Marc K are designing an under the tail section, air to air intercooler with enough core and tank area to cool the potential heat our Variable Vane Series 66 Aerocharger is capable of producing at near warp speeds in August. After doing the math we determined the front mounted intercooler would not cut the mustard at targeted speeds on a 3 to 5 mile pass. Our goal at hand is to achieve maximum potential with maximum preparation, while we attempt to keep it simple.

Twins Turbo Motorsports specializes in fuel injected turbo systems for race and street vehicles. “We have been building and setting up vehicles for competition as well as for the street since 1996,” said Erik.
“We test every product on the track before we consider selling them and putting our name behind them.”

They consider their product line to be the best on the market. Custom MoTec stand-alone engine mgt installation and tuning using a DynaPack chassis dyno, custom Penske racing shocks, Brembo GT and GTR brake systems, Brown and Miller racing solutions plumbing are just a few of the products they specialize in designing and installing.

“We also design and manufacture our own products when we have a need that the industry has not met,” said Erik. “We pride ourselves on custom header fabrication as well as intercooler and intercooler piping and turbo selection. As with everything we build at the shop we use the years of racing experience to provide our customers with the finest in fabrication and performance.

When we design and build a complete car for a customer, he will be able to show up at the track or at the local cruise knowing that he will not see any other car like his as his car was fabricated from scratch for him personally. As we say at the shop ‘who’s got that?’”

Our 1/4 fairing is in the hands of our local fiberglass/pin striper/body worker, “George the Wild Brush.” George is installing anchors to securely mount the factory designed headlight. Ya need lights when running the middle of the night empty freeways in the cool, dark, semi-moist-night-air in Southern California. Empty freeways and a fine tuned Hot Rod are good for your heart and soul.

Why Suzuki Hayabusa Suspension and Body Work?
The suspension is tested and proven many times at record speeds, the aerodynamics are also a proven slippery package. Coupled with our R&R Cycle, Randy Torgeson built 124 inch, Turbo-Charged Twin Cam for power we feel we have a fair chance at Haulin Ass! Safe, Straight and Real Fast.

The Engineering Team at Suzuki, involved in the Aerodynamics of the slippery Hayabusa body work, achieved a wind-tunnel-proven co-efficiency of drag rated at .561. The Raycers body work was designed by Kent Riches and the Team at Air Tech Streamlining in San Marcos, CA. The Raycer will be wind tunnel tested to determine our fine tuning needs. We expect to meet and/or exceed, in the slippery department, the factory engineered and tested aerodynamic package that has recorded speeds in the mid 200s, before slowing due to reaching the inevitable, invisible, aero-wall and or losing traction under your adrenaline fueled, wrapped in Vanson Leathers ass, provided enough horsepower is at hand to find the wall.

Here’s a reminder for those of you with shops, at 5-Ball Inc. we are official Unbrako North America Distributors. Contact us at Bikernet with a wish list of fasteners, any fasteners. We’ll hatch a plan and move ahead from there. There is a great possibility we can save you money on your hardware purchases. Unbrako invented the Socket Head fastener. www.unbrako.com.

This coming week we’ll close in on all aspects of the intercooler project. Once completed we’ll install the STD inner and outer primaries, Rivera Pro Clutch, Fisher Vibration Damper Tsubaki chain and primary fluid while preparing the Raycer for shipment to Dan Thayer in New York for a tuning session.

Our Shorai is secured in the Raycer ready for the task at hand.

Stay tuned while we bust our ass day and night while lovin’ every minute of it, in the quest for speed and a time slip with remarkable, recordable numbers. The only number in the world like it, recorded in your book of life.

TAKE A BREAK IN THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY–Misplaced My Glasses

Yesterday my daughter e-mailed me again asking why I didn’t do something useful with my time (like riding around in golf carts and drinking beer with my friends is not a good thing).

She said she was “only thinking of me” and suggested I go down to the senior center and hang out with the guys.

I did this and when I got home last night I decided to teach her a lesson about staying out of my business.

I e-mailed her and told her that I had joined a parachute club.

She replied, “Are you nuts? You are 71 plus years old, and now you’re going to start jumping out of airplanes?”

I told her that I even got a “membership card” and e-mailed a copy to her.

She immediately telephoned me, “Good grief, where are your glasses! This is a membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute Club.”

“Oh man, I’m in trouble again; I really don’t know what to do now… I signed up for five jumps a week,” I told her.

The line went quiet and her friend picked up the phone and said that she had fainted.
Life as a senior citizen is not getting any easier but sometimes it can be fun.

Do not regret growing older.
It’s a privilege denied to many.

SADDLEMEN LOOKING TO HIRE SALES AND SERVICE ASSOCIATE—We had a quiet meeting with Buster Cates from Saddlemen behind a liquor store next to the harbor. We discussed the Amazing Shrunken FXR he owns and rides to work daily. Then he told us that sales are growing at Saddlemen with improved economy and the brutal winter slipping away. “I need to find a young someone who knows the industry, to help with the phone service,” Buster said. “It’s an opportunity for someone to grow in the industry.”

Saddlemen is a very family run business. Many of the long term employees now work side by side with their sons and daughters. If you’re interested in a shot in a fast growing company devoted to two-wheeled action, give Buster a call.

SMOKEOUT 15 IS COMING UP—Bandit is riding an Indian out of Tennessee into the hills of North Carolina to document all the wild SmokeOut action.

“We invite journalists every year from all over the world, but they don’t come,” said Commander Edge, head of SmokeOut Security. “I think they’re afraid. But Bandit rides out year after year and we don’t want him.”

“The bastard drinks all of the whiskey,” said Prince Najar, the official SmokeOut Public Relations VP. “And we are forced to find special agents to secure any redhead’s tent at night. “It’s bullshit. I offered him a pass to DisneyWorld but he wouldn’t take it. We are thinking about moving the event to a more secure location.”

Run What Ya Brung Street Drag Race Day is Here!– It was such a trip to be able to line up and race down Idaho Avenue in Oldtown.

By Algie Pirrello – Killing Machine Choppers

Finally, Saturday! Race day was here, and right off the bat we got rain, it didn’t last long. It cleared right up and just washed the track for us. Everyone was cooled off and ready to go. The Pirate Wenches suited up with donated rally wear from Russ at Bikercrap.com.

He sized up the girls faster than the wink of a young girl’s eye and we had some super-hot outfits for the wenches to sport. Man check the pictures, did they look good or what?

Racing Stripes Seats from LePera.– Inspired By all the Racing Stripped Muscle Cars in the Past

By Bandit with photos from the LePera Crew.

I knew Bob for 30 years, and his kids Christine and Bob Jr. grew up in the business and ultimately took over when Bob passed into the big custom shop in the sky. Most of the LePera lines of seats are still ground, cut, and laid out by hand. All of their powder-coated seat pans are made from16-guage steel, and everything is made in America. Bob Jr. took over the design arena, and this year developed a line of racing stripe seats. “I dig the stripes,” Bob said. “I remember the cars as a kid, the stripped jackets.”

Daytona Bike Week 2014.– This year we were going to ride down, no trailers, no truck, just us and the bike.

By Stealth with photos by Vicki

Vicki and I decided we had to peel to Daytona for Bike Week. This year we were going to ride down, no trailers, no truck, just us and the bike. We left Charlotte Tuesday afternoon; it was a beautiful day to ride, sunny and 75! I twisted the throttle and the speedo read between 75 and 85.

Indian Motorcycle Exhibit Opened At AACA Museum in Hershey.

This captivating exhibit comes to life with more than 22 Motorcycles on Friday, March 28th and continues to roar through October 24th, 2014.

The story of the Indian Motorcycle Company closely mirrors the history and attitudes of America. Indian was founded by two driven young men: George Hendee, an American bicycle racer and builder, and Oscar Hedstrom, a Swedish immigrant and machinist.

The two first met in 1899, when Hendee took notice of a motorized bicycle that Hedstrom had modified. They developed a plan to form a company and produce their own “moto-cycle.”

Top 12 Historic Female Riders, Part I– A look at important women in motorcycle history

By J&P Cycles

The 19th Amendment guaranteed Women would receive the same right to vote as men. The era between 1878 and when it was finally ratified in 1920 were tough on women everywhere, but for those who stood up for what they believed in and help prove, reveal or otherwise convince the majority of the citizens of the United States that women kick ass and deserve to have the same rights as men: We want to say thank you. As you read through this brief overview of important women in motorcycle history, some of which were from that early era, it is important to understand that their contributions were often made with little or no support from friends or family.

These are women who recognized that being given equal rights meant more than just the right to vote or work, but it also gave them the right to do as they damn well pleased. In the case of the dozen women we will look at in this article, that freedom included riding a motorcycle.

Give A Battery A Break With Regular Bike Charging Routine– Harley-Davidson Advice on Avoiding Battery Abuse

A motorcycle battery never gets a day off. The service experts at Harley-Davidson® point out that even when a motorcycle is parked the battery discharges continuously in small internal loads called “self-discharge.” Self-discharge speeds up drastically as the temperature rises – for example in a hot garage in the summer – and accessories like alarm systems will further increase the rate of discharge.

If a battery is discharged too deeply, for too long, it may be permanently damaged. Instead of a V-Twin rumble, a push on the starter button produces … silence. And there goes a Saturday ride.

CDC TASK FORCE REPORT– Universal motorcycle helmet laws?

By Matt Danielson, McGrath & Danielson, The Motorcycle Law Group

The study recommends universal motorcycle helmet laws as the sole method to reduce fatalities and injuries. The report fails to address ways to prevent or reduce motorcycle crashes. There is no mention of motorcycle training and education. The recommendation instead focuses on surviving the inevitable crash.

Latest Girl of Bikernet 40DD Redhead– And a Stripper from the ’50s

By Bandit

This is amazing. The Bikernet official, certified redhead researcher, who I can’t name, started sending me shots of Tempest Storm. He knew I would be intrigued because I’m a boob man, and somehow addicted to redheads.

He sent me so many shots I asked him about her history. The first piece was taken from Wikipedia. She has a very interesting history in another business that changed and ultimately died. The second piece is an interview with her from Roger Ebert, when she was still working.

Check ‘em out! Cantina Membership required.

5-Ball Bagger Project Bike — Wrecked Bagger Part 1–A wreck can lead to a New Beginning

Text and Photos by Richard Kranzler

Sunday, March 23, 2014, a day that will be remembered in Bikernet Baggers history as the day that I decided to total the new to us, 1997 FLHTC bagger. I picked it up from Lifestyle Cycle two months and roughly 3500 miles earlier. It dragged my ass from Bikernet Headquarters to the Bikernet Baggers garage hidden away in the Pacific Northwest. We rode together through rain, sleet, sunshine (yes we get that up here once in awhile) and I was just starting to find her faults and what needed to be fixed.

WHY BIKERS SWITCH TO TRIKES– 8 Triker Love Stories

–Mary Panerio

Falling in love with a trike is easier than you might at first think. In fact, many riders who swear their fidelity to bikes often change their minds after just one ride. While reasons for crossing over to a trike can vary, riders often agree: once you go trike, you never go bike!

So with the return of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s second annual all-trike ride, T.O.U.R., we asked eight trike riders to share the reasons why they fell in love with life on three wheels.

Client Triples Settlement by Hiring Hupy and Abraham, S.C.—

In February 2010, our client was traveling on Lannon Rd. in Germantown, WI and safely stopped at a red light, intending to turn onto U.S. 41. While stopped, a driver came up from behind and slammed into the back of our client at 50 mph. There were no skid marks on the scene, indicating the other driver didn’t even try to stop.

The client first hired a well-known law firm that recommended a $40,000 settlement. The client fired that lawyer. He then hired Hupy and Abraham, which got him a $130,000 settlement.

Awarded: $130,000

$7,000 Offer Rejected — Client Gets $110,000 Settlement

On April 24, 2011, our client was the passenger as her husband drove south on 38th St. in Somers, WI. As her husband slowed down to turn into a parking lot, an animal cut in front of the vehicle, prompting a complete stop.

The other driver was trailing too closely and rear-ended our client. Her injuries incurred approximately $70,000 in medical bills, but the insurance company was only willing to pay $7,000.

Attorney Todd Korb negotiated a $110,000 settlement and a $10,000 reduction in medical bills.

Awarded: $110,000

ANOTHER STRANGE DAY IN PARADISE—Ah the meaning of life. Find happiness everyday, and don’t sweat the small shit. How’s that?

This weekend I’ll start the final edit on the next Chance Hogan book, World Run. I usually run to the hills and hide out but I’m going to give it a shot at home. But the goddamn appointments are piling up for Friday, and Saturday there’s a dinner and a girl. And Sunday Markus is shooting Andrew’s flash custom Sportster. WTF, over?

Looks like the Bikernet Mistress is after the Danielle from Pickers for a feature in the Bikernet Woman’s section. We’ve got bike repairs, shop repairs, racers to build, books to publish, and I’m thinking about another redhead.

What the hell was I thinking? I need a small homeless immigrant who can scramble eggs and make coffee. Have a helluva weekend.

Let’s Ride!
