World Championship moves to BIG BIKE EUROPE in 2013

Following six successful years at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, years that have seen AMD's World Championship of Custom Bike Building become established and respected as a leading showcase for innovative custom motorcycle design and engineering, the 9th annual World Championship at Sturgis this August (5th thru 8th) will be the last to be staged at the rally. From next year's 10th annual, the World Championship of Custom Bike Building will debut at BIG BIKE EUROPE, at Essen in Germany (May 10th thru 12th 2013) and thereafter be staged annually at BIG BIKE EUROPE every May. Slated as the all new 'headquarters expo' for the custom parts, accessory, workshop, tuning and performance industry, BIG BIKE EUROPE will conjoin the World and European Championships. So far four 'Team USA' qualification places are confirmed and funded for the 2013 10th annual AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building at the new Big Bike Europe parts and accessories industry expo in Germany in May next year Instead of qualifying European Championship and international World Championship affiliate event winners going to America to compete in the World Championship, BIG BIKE EUROPE and the World Championship program will instead be offering qualifying American custom bike builders the opportunity to travel to Europe to compete internationally as part of a 'TEAM USA' concept being headed up by respected custom motorcycle industry veteran Bob Kay and the Biker Pros team. As a first 'TEAM USA' announcement BIG BIKE EUROPE and the AMD World Championship program are confirming that the top three highest placed domestic US based competing builders in the FreeStyle Class at this year's Sturgis World Championship will win automatic qualification to participate at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building at BIG BIKE EUROPE in Germany. In further AMD World Championship program news this […]

HOKA HEY! FACING ADVERSITY IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

I wanted to be sure to let everyone know that if you weren't able to join us in real time the threads remain for your review. However, if you are not a member of Facebook I want to repeat somethings that (I feel) are important to note.   First let me start by reiterating that we are attempting to build a brand with the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge and this has been a test of our own fortitude as much as any of our riders and we are grateful to everyone that supports us in this endeavor. As I've said before, I am an Environmental Scientist and Jim is a Tribal Attorney. Until we started promoting the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge in 2008 we neither one had any experience in promotions or in long distance motorcycle events. Admittedly, we have been on a bit learning curve but we are getting most of the bugs worked out in an effort to make the Challenge a world class event.   But it is not just about us, or the event.  Sometimes in the hype of dealing with the good, the bad and the ugly; people forget about our ultimate mission which is to bring awareness to the plight of the Indian people on the remote reservations. Most specifically, Pine Ridge Reservation since it is the poorest region in the country and it is right in our own back yard! So, while we may not agree on everything that has happened in the past as it regards the event, let us all agree that something needs to be done about the poverty within the boundaries of the United States and that the grim statistics surrounding the reservations present a compelling argument for our unbending desire to use the HHMC to make some small difference.   There

RIDING HIGH ON A 2012 CVO ELECTRA GLIDE ULTRA CLASSIC

This 2012 CVO Electra Glide Ultra Classic in Wicked Sapphire/Stardust Silver with Big City Lights graphics paint trumpets, “I have arrived” in style and comfort. Both rider and passenger are in control of the independently adjustable heated seats while lumbar support will help those long miles pass by comfortably. I  head for Torrey Pines Gliderport for some Para-gliding. Only ten miles from the L’Auberge, the Glider port offers hang gliding and Para-gliding. Para gliding is very different from Para-sailing. Para-sailing requires a boat, while paragliding is free-flight; you’re not attached to anything.  Generally, tandem flights for both paragliding and hang gliding are about 20-25 minutes long. Sometimes, the ride might be longer or shorter depending on the wind conditions, and your pilot will let you know. If your ride is less than 20 minutes, there are a number of options that you can work out with your pilot at their discretion, including a discount or coming back for another full flight. Midnight Rider: 18 Wheels of Stealthy Steel EPISODE 14

"We have to see, but be unseen, speak, but not be heard.  I can’t talk to the police, the FBI or CIA; I can’t even go to the NSA about what we’ve just told the world.  And why isn’t the news about Dick Cheney and human organ trafficking all over every TV and radio station?  Several corporations collectively control all U.S. media and absolutely dominate news and entertainment in the United States.  The corporate relationships between private industry and the industrial military complex are incestuous. Almost everything you disseminated is being discredited, diluted or destroyed as we speak.  We knew this would happen, but had no clue to what extent.  We also watched everything go down with the Marines in Palm Springs via government satellites. The Gold Lance attack in Oregon?  That, we didn’t see coming.  We know where Gold Lance is headquartered and know what their intentions are. But right now, we don’t know what to do about it.  Our only defense at this moment is that Gold Lance doesn’t know where we are.  Otherwise, we would be immediately terminated.” READ FULL STORY

TRIUMPH TRIKEASAURUS A Party on Three Wheels

The Tyrannosaurus Rex was a mighty big and tough dinosaur; in fact the largest meat-eating animal that ever walked the Earth. Just an average Tyrannosaurus was about 39 feet (11.9m) long, up to 20 feet (6.1m) tall, and weighed around 7 US tons (6350kg).  There were bigger dinosaurs out there, but none tougher. And just as there are a few bigger trikes out there, among those built for street use there would be very few tougher than the one on these pages. READ FULL STORY
