'I am Evil Knievel' Premieres September 10 at 11:00pm ET/PT

Honoring the 40th anniversary of Evel Knievel’s Snake River Canyon jump, Spike TV presents a revealing look at America’s most infamous daredevil, Evel Knievel, in the original Spike TV documentary “I Am Evel Knievel.” The 90-minute special will premiere on Spike TV Wednesday, September 10 at 11:00pm ET/PT. “I Am Evel Knievel” combines original exclusive interviews with archival footage of this larger-than-life character to tell Knievel’s incredible story. Featured interviews include Matthew McConaughey, Kid Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, Guy Fieri, Robbie Maddison, and family members including sons Kelly and Robbie, and former wives Linda Knievel and Krystal Kennedy-Knievel. Lathan McKay, owner of the world’s largest collection of Evel Knievel memorabilia, is also featured. “My dad proceeded through life as if limitations of his own imagination, courage and abilities did not exist – it was really something to grow up with,” stated Kelly Knievel. “When Evel hit the ground hard, he hit the bull’s eye in an America that was hungry for heroes, hungry for men who scoffed at danger and walked away from death,” said Director/Producer Derik Murray. “Evel Knievel was the first, the original, the craziest daredevil that ever lived. He did it on heavier bikes, and he did it without the technology and experience that comes with today’s action sports heroes.”

Accidental Rebuild

Sometimes Mickey Mouse is best.  By Scooter Tramp Scotty Part One The girl lived in a trailer park on the northern outskirts of Los Angeles. She was “Trailer Treasure”, and so it was I’d come to stay for the past two weeks. Although this was not the heart of the city, neither could it be confused with countryside. Concrete ruled this place and traffic was often a nightmare.  Still, we were a long way from sky scrapers and there were middle class American homes lining the side streets and cul-de-sacs. She worked by day and often spent time with her grandchildren on the weekends which left me to comb the city in search of things to do. Car shows, local biker events and rides through the nearby mountains, across Mulholland Drive and through Malibu along Coastal Hwy 1 were common events. READ more….

WHAT'S Next? Thursday News for September 4, 2014

Hang On for show action, swap meets, Antique bikes, new products, new projects, and Bad Jokes. Hey, There’s so much on our goddamn plates these days, but what the hell. We can’t ever stop. I am going to initiate a mantra for 2015—More Fun, Less Work. No books next year. I’m going to finish my screenplay this year, hopefully, and publish the next Chance book. It’s a good one. Next year I would like to try my hand at a bronze sculpture, and I hope to focus on Sturgis and Bonneville. I will be writing about my new Indian with Rich at American Biker, who will modify it. But I don’t plan on building any bikes next year. On the other hand, we will be working closely with Lucky Devil in Houston on our Bonneville Trike project, which will be amazing. Let’s hit the news. If I keep thinking about next year, the list keeps expanding and I’ll freak. READ more….
