I’ve fixed somethings and hunted others. I need to address my gas tank once more. It started as a mini-Sportster tank from Paughco. We just needed to add some mounting bungs and securely braze them in place. No Problem, right?

It still leaks. I’ve never had a problem like this.

I finally picked up the helmet shield from Phillips steel. They bent it to perfection. Unfortunately, not quite. I need to straighten the sides. Maybe tomorrow.

The lost lead shipment arrived today, almost 50 pounds of solid lead. I inventoried our new 5-Ball Leather order. The shit looks very good. I’m blown away by the quality.

Also, our new Bandit’s Bedrolls and Dayrolls arrived also. I had the Dayroll made slightly smaller and out of leather. The old ones were cool and did the trick, but they didn’t look cool when they were empty. You know how we are. We want to carry nothing and look supremely cool rolling down the road, but unfortunately, we need everything, including Chapstick, a lock, tie-wraps, pliers, night glasses or a scarf when the sun goes down. How about a roll of bailing wire, a set of Allen wrenches, a screwdriver, a roll of tums, a snub-nosed 38 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol? You name it.
My manufacturer overseas is doing a helluva job making our 5-Ball line and Debi Black at Bartels’ H-D is our R&D new products consultant. She just came up with the new vest for women, our Pit Crew vest. We are planning a photo shoot in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll be able to share our new women’s line with you and the bedrolls.

My son is living and working in Austin at a Tattoo Parlor downtown. He stopped by the headquarters on his way to the Long Beach Airport. He offered to buy my Mudflap Girl FXR, blew me away. That was Saturday. Saturday night I went with the Redhead to a marina for a fresh grilled Ahi Tuna feast. I ran into Billy, a ship captain, who seemed jealous that my son got the FXR.

He said he was coming over on Sunday to deliver another chain hoist and buy one of my bikes. Maybe he was drinking, but I thought he was clean and sober. I pulled the Indian out Sunday Morning, but I kept thinking about Billy coming over. I got busy with multiple projects and then the Redhead came home with the hoist in the back of her van and no Billy.
I actually built Frank Sr. another Mudflap Girl FXR, but he was having problems at the time and sold it to his son. I recently helped Frankie with a new Custom Cycle Engineering 39 mm front end for it. Frankie is riding it now. Although, he recently wrecked his Dyna that I spent a year rebuilding. The stories never end.

I wrote a letter to a Hells Angel in prison today. I rode with him in the ‘70s. It’s tough on these guys. They can’t receive anything in prison that doesn’t come from the publisher or the manufacturer. He wants some new Harley brochures but can’t receive them unless they come from a dealer. I’m going to try to handle that at Bartels this week.

Another brother, an ex-member of the Outlaws, who did a lot of time, can’t get a contractor’s license in California because of the time he did. There are a lot of things he can’t do because he’s a felon. So, the Man doesn’t want prisoners to continue a life of crime when they get out, but they can’t get a license and go back to work. He just got his right to vote back recently.

I finished a Cantina Episode over the weekend and I’m trying out a new copy editor, Hannah, who ran a video supply store in Columbus, Ohio with a large supply of Adult videos. She should fit right in.

This week, I need to order foam padding SFI 45.1. I’m hoping to install one of the fire suppression units and finish the firewall. I need to take the bottom off the Salt Torpedo to install the engine compartment fire suppression tank. I’m going to add more gussets and welding to the front-end mounting. At that point, I’m going to add the lead bars and plates.

Then I hope to call Rodan for a safety inspection. Hang on for more reports and have a helluva week.

Ride Fast and Free, Forever,
–Bandit
