THE CHANGING BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for May 18, 2017

Hey,

Here’s an official Bikernet Survey question. Some companies in our aftermarket industry are kicking ass, while others are struggling. The question is why and what can they do?

In a recent interview the MD of Daimler Benz (Mercedes Benz) said their competitors are no longer other car companies but Tesla (obvious), Google, Apple, Amazon ‘et al’ are…… There have always been the 3 constants … Death, Taxes and CHANGE!

It’s fascinating, and everything is changing faster than ever before. Get this. The control freaks would like you to turn in your cars to be crushed and live in a tent, without electricity, but you can’t light a fire to cook. In fact, you shouldn’t eat any animals or cook anything. WTF?

Wait a minute, bikers almost have the perfect solution. Just a bedroll, one motorcycle, a bottle of whiskey and your babe. What more do we need? Everyone should read my book from 1999, Sam “Chopper” Orwell. We’re getting close.

The Bikernet Weekly News is sponsored in part by companies who also dig Freedom including: Cycle Source Magazine, the MRF, Las Vegas Bikefest, Iron Trader News, ChopperTown and BorntoRide.com, Sturgis Museum.

Bottom line, more bikers are coming on line everyday. They’re looking for open roads and hot rod motorcycles, just like some other guy I knew.

MORE ABOUT CHANGE–

Software will disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years.

Uber is just a software tool, they don’t own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world

Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don’t own any properties.

Artificial Intelligence:
Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world. This year, a computer beat the best Go player in the world, 10 years earlier than expected.

In the US, young lawyers already don’t get jobs. Because of IBM Watson, you can get legal advice (so far for more or less basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans.

So if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% less lawyers in the future, only specialists will remain.

Watson already helps nurses diagnosing cancer, 4 times more accurate than human nurses. Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans. In 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans.

Autonomous cars:
In 2018 the first self driving cars will appear for the public. Around 2020, the complete industry will start to be disrupted. You don’t want to own a car anymore. You will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination. You will not need to park it, you only pay for the driven distance and can be productive while driving. Our kids will never get a driver’s licence and will never own a car.

It will change the cities, because we will need 90-95% less cars for that. We can transform former parking spaces into parks. 1.2 million people die each year in car accidents worldwide. We now have one accident every 60,000 miles (100,000 km), with autonomous driving that will drop to one accident in 6 million miles (10 million km). That will save a million lives each year.

Most car companies will probably become bankrupt. Traditional car companies try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels.

Many engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; are completely terrified of Tesla.

Insurance companies will have massive trouble because without accidents, the insurance will become 100x cheaper. Their car insurance business model will disappear.

Real estate will change. Because if you can work while you commute, people will move further away to live in a more beautiful neighborhood.

Electric cars will become mainstream about 2020. Cities will be less noisy because all new cars will run on electricity. Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean: Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can now see the burgeoning impact.

Last year, more solar energy was installed worldwide than fossil. Energy companies are desperately trying to limit access to the grid to prevent competition from home solar installations, but that can’t last. Technology will take care of that strategy.

With cheap electricity comes cheap and abundant water. Desalination of salt water now only needs 2kWh per cubic meter (@ 0.25 cents). We don’t have scarce water in most places, we only have scarce drinking water. Imagine what will be possible if anyone can have as much clean water as he wants, for nearly no cost.

Health:
The Tricorder X price will be announced this year. There are companies who will build a medical device (called the “Tricorder” from Star Trek) that works with your phone, which takes your retina scan, your blood sample and you breath into it.

It then analyses 54 biomarkers that will identify nearly any disease. It will be cheap, so in a few years everyone on this planet will have access to world class medical analysis, nearly for free. Goodbye, medical establishment.

3D printing:
The price of the cheapest 3D printer came down from $18,000 to $400 within 10 years. In the same time, it became 100 times faster. All major shoe companies have already started 3D printing shoes.

Some spare airplane parts are already 3D printed in remote airports. The space station now has a printer that eliminates the need for the large amount of spare parts they used to have in the past.

At the end of this year, new smart phones will have 3D scanning possibilities. You can then 3D scan your feet and print your perfect shoe at home.

In China, they already 3D printed and built a complete 6-storey office building. By 2027, 10% of everything that’s being produced will be 3D printed.

Business opportunities:
If you think of a niche you want to go in, ask yourself: “in the future, do you think we will have that?” and if the answer is yes, how can you make that happen sooner?

If it doesn’t work with your phone, forget the idea. And any idea designed for success in the 20th century is doomed to failure in the 21st century.

Work:
70-80% of jobs will disappear in the next 20 years. There will be a lot of new jobs, but it is not clear if there will be enough new jobs in such a small time.

Agriculture:
There will be a $100 agricultural robot in the future. Farmers in 3rd world countries can then become managers of their field instead of working all day on their fields.

There is an app called “moodies” which can already tell in which mood you’re in. By 2020 there will be apps that can tell by your facial expressions, if you are lying. Imagine a political debate where it’s being displayed when they’re telling the truth and when they’re not.

Bitcoin may even become the default reserve currency … Of the world!

Education
: The cheapest smart phones are already at $10 in Africa and Asia. By 2020, 70% of all humans will own a smart phone. That means, everyone has the same access to world class education.

The best thing we can hope for is that they also perfect the ability to stop the computer hackers because boy could they mess things up big time!!!

One more thing – I can remain quite cheerful regarding this ‘brave new world’ of the future because I won’t be part of it – I’ll be happily pushing up daisies instead!

QUICK, OPEN THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY–
After 10 years, the wife starts to think their kid looks kinda strange so she decides to do a DNA test.

She finds out that the kid is actually from completely different parents.

Wife: Honey, I have something very serious to tell you

Husband: What’s up?

Wife: According to DNA test results, this is not our kid

Husband: Well you don’t remember, do you?? When we were leaving the hospital, we noticed that our baby had pooped.

Then you said:
– Please go change the baby, I’ll wait for you here.

THE INDIAN REPORT–
The Indian dealer had a rally, here in SoCal, in L.A. on Saturday. It started out as an exchange an old Harley t-shirt for a new Indian tee.

When I got there on Saturday, I found out it was a full blown rally. Seen bikes parked down La Cienaga for ten blocks . Half of the boulevard was shut down to traffic and all kinds of display booths and live band going on.

Police presence there with their booth and looks like all had a good time . Got that t-shirt, the old t-shirts were to be given to a men’s homeless organization.

Just thought I would let our motorcycle community know .

I’ve leased a lot at Cheyenne Crossing (Spearfish Canyon) during Sturgis and am renting vendor spaces to a few select vendors. I’m trying to get only the cool shit. Handmade American products.

After thirty years of exhibiting in Sturgis, this is by far the best location I’ve ever had.

No room for big rigs. 10 x 20′ or so max. Spaces are starting to fill, but I want cool shit. Talked with Jesse Rooke, Kendall, Zach Johnson. Some antique bikes would be cool or handbuilt FXR, Dyna shit.

I’ll probably go broke trying to keep my integrity, but if I pull it off, the next five years will be fun & profitable!

See you there.

GUN NUT REPORT–
California: Department of Justice Submits Assault Weapon Regulations to Office of Administrative Law

Today, May 15, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) submitted draft regulations on “Assault Weapons” to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL). The regulations were submitted as “file and print only” and DOJ has refused to release the text. This is similar to the last time DOJ submitted regulations on “assault weapons” before they were abruptly withdrawn after the NRA and CRPA attorneys submitted a pre-litigation demand letter.

The NRA’s legal team will review and prepare an analysis once the text becomes available. In the meantime, continue to check your inbox and the California Stand and Fight Website for updates.

CLIMATE CALAMITY REPORT–
Great Global Warming Swindle movie

I finally got through the Global Warming movie. I did skip over some of the science parts. Most of that wasn’t understandable. The part about the sun having a lot to do with heat…I got that. Had kinda figured that out on my own. As mentioned, the film is 10 years old. I suspect Keith Ball put this item on his website without watching the movie. I went back to the site, and found out that it wasn’t Keith, but some investigator who is touting the film. The guy works for a PI law firm that has posted an ad.

Summary:
So here’s the deal. The whole climate change scam, according to the movie, is a grand conspiracy orchestrated by three groups: the right wing, the left wing, and greedy scientists.

Villain No. 1:
Right wing Brits. The global warming movement was started by Margaret Thatcher because she hated coal miners and Arabs. She hated that the miners were on strike, so she didn’t like coal. She didn’t like being dependent on oil from the middle east either. So she wanted nuclear energy and green energy, and therefor put forth the idea that fossil fuels were bad.

Villain No. 2:
commies. When the Berlin wall came down and communists streamed into the west, they needed a new cause, so they adopted the environmental movement. It was a way of promoting their aim of destroying capitalism.

Villain No. 3:
Atmospheric scientists. The U.S. government has earmarked more funds to study climate change, and scientists have jumped on the gravy train.

How much of this is true? I don’t know. I don’t know much about Margaret Thatcher. The film doesn’t do a good job of quantifying all the commies that joined the environmental movement.

The movie shows the Wall coming down and guys running around. I guess they are running from the East to join up with Green Peace. The third instigator, big funds for research, might have some validity. This always happens.

There’s a big movement of some sort, and scientists make their research proposals vaguely relevant to it so they can get the funding. For example, remember Reagan’s ill-fated Star Wars program? I was covering lasers at the time, and lots of laser scientists got funding.

They all knew that the Star Wars thing was bogus, but they made their research vaguely relevant. Still, some good research got done, although under false pretenses.

Is this documentary valid? I don’t know. The conspiracy angle looks pretty speculative. The main guy talking to the camera is Nigel Calder, a science writer who predicted a new ice age beginning in the year 2000. I don’t think that happened.

I asked my friend Cam what he thought. Cam has been writing about climate change and the environment for several years. His byline is Charles C. Mann, and his last two books (called “1491” and “1493”) were bestsellers. He says he hasn’t seen this particular documentary, but there are lots of them on the same subject, mostly badly done. He also says the pro-climate-change documentaries are no better. He says the climate scientists are horribly boring, and the film makers are horribly stupid.

Both Cam and I had the same question: Why are bikers upset about the climate-change movement? Isn’t it good for bikers? Bikes get good mileage and the real problem with emissions is not the driving of vehicles but the manufacturing of same, no? Cars go from 2500 pounds and up. Motorcycles are, what?, 350 to 1,000 pounds? A lot fewer natural resources used and fewer factory emissions during the manufacturing process. Bikers are the heroes of the environment.

Fun fact from Cam:
More people are killed every year from solar energy than nuclear. They fall off roofs.

Sorry I can’t be more useful. I don’t know much about climate change.

–Dick Teresi

This is great. I can see you smiling, while writing this. Let me see if I can respond. Have you seen Cowspiracy? That’s the best, sorta questioning film out there, because it was produced by Leonardo Dicaprico. Then there is Climate Hustle, which has interesting info, but they produced it with commercial breaks and the production value is not too hot. I could send you a copy.

Regarding Climate change and bikers, two things. First, no biker wants to see all freedoms destroyed over climate change. The environmentalists want to control everything from your lawnmower to your barbecue. It’s against the Code of the West.

Second, the EPA and CARB in California are destroying the motorcycle and hot rod aftermarket. You can’t buy a cam for your motorcycle in California. You need to haul ass to Vegas with a briefcase full of cash and meet a guy in a casino parking lot to collect your performance parts.

I wish more info and documentaries were produced on this topic.

–Bandit

BIKERNET UNIVERSITY ENGLISH DEPARTMENT VOCABULARY LESSON OF THE WEEK—

Forgettery: [fer-get-uh-ree]

noun
1.
a faculty or facility for forgetting; faulty memory: a witness with a very convenient forgettery.

QUOTES

And, even as we rolled through the lovely country-side, my forgettery set to work.

— Kurt Vonnegut, Slapstick, 1976

ORIGIN
Forgettery is a humorous formation based on forget and (the pronunciation of) memory. The phenomenon is very common in ordinary life, such as that panicky moment when one cannot recall the name of one’s dinner partner or where one parked the car in the mall parking lot. It is a little surprising that such a useful term entered English only in the 19th century.

MISSOURI LEGISLATION UPDATE–

Missouri Legislative session came to and end for 2017 and we ran out of time because the Senate did little to no actual legislating. For example: I attended a Senate committee hearing scheduled for 9am but our pain in the ass decided to filibuster the damn announcements and the hearing didn’t begin until almost noon.

Senate Bill 379:
This act modifies the definition of “autocycle” to include partially or completely enclosed vehicles with a non-straddle-type seating area.

This act removes statutory requirements for certain safety features, and instead requires that the vehicle meet applicable National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requirements or federal motorcycle safety standards. Takes effect August 28, 2017.

From FORR Legislative Coordinator:

The session ended Friday and we didn’t get anything thru this year.

HB 576 was passed out of committee but never got on the calendar. I believe they voted it because they knew it would not go anywhere. Then the helmet language was put on two other senate bills and when they went to conference the language was stripped.

They blamed three different senators Schatz, Schaaf, and Schupp. We will need to work on these senators for next year. There is a couple of senators that might file the bill next year will be getting back with them later in the year.

The autocycle bill was passed on a couple of different bills so they did get that thru. Sen Schatz name was in the middle of everything that was being done with our bill he is a big problem and if he gets reelected next year that will be a problem.

The other bills we were watching never got a hearing some never even got put in committees. Remember we have been doing this a long time and there is no quite in us.

The 8, 12, and 14-day itineraries, which span the length of this fascinating island, are designed and led by celebrity travel writer, moto-journalist, and Cuba expert Christopher P. Baker.

The exciting programs—offered under the U.S. Treasury Department’s license for “people-to-people” educational travel—will include fascinating encounters with Cubans spanning the spectrum from artists and harlistas (owners of antique Harley-Davidsons) to baseball players and tobacco farmers.

RTW Moto Tours offers riders a choice of BMW F700s and 1200GS, plus Triumph Tiger 800s, and a variety of Harley-Davidson models imported from Europe.

The 8-day ‘Western Cuba’ program (December 3-10, 2017) combines two extraordinary days in Havana with an exploration of tobacco country, including the beautiful Viñales Valley, plus a visit to the Bay of Pigs and overnight in the perfectly preserved colonial city of Trinidad.

NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT–
Scout sprint racer built by the Young Guns unveiled at Art & Wheels show

It’s been in the making for six months and this weekend at an art and motorcycle show in Switzerland, Indian Motorcycle and the Young Guns Speed Shop unveiled their Scout sprint racer called ‘Miracle Mike’.
This special machine – with a nitrous oxide system mated to the Scout’s 1133cc v-twin engine – is set for a summer of sprint racing with the first race at the Café Racer Festival near Paris in mid-June.

“It’s been an incredible six months with over 700 hours of work invested in this build,” exclaims Nik Heer. “Myself and Fabian have built many bike projects before but Miracle Mike has been our most ambitious. We’re blown away by the reaction we’ve had here at Art & Wheels.”

Miracle Mike, named after Mike the Headless Chicken, has been built with the official support of Indian Motorcycle and is a true American/European collaboration with parts sourced from motorcycling brands such as Öhlins (Sweden), Brembo (Italy), Wizards of NOS (UK), LSL Motorcycle Parts (Germany), Metzeler tyres (Germany) and Motogadget (Germany).

From their workshop in Rapperswil, just south of Zurich, the Young Guns have completely re-wired and reshaped a standard Indian Scout transforming it in to a snarling sprint machine.

“We’re super happy with the bike,” adds Nik, who with Fabian Witzig, rebuilt the Scout using in-house machined parts, a fabricated fuel tank and the addition of a NOS system. “We will now start some engine tuning and speed runs over the coming weeks. We cannot wait to see Miracle Mike fire down its first eighth mile sprint.”

Grant Bester, general manager for Indian Motorcycle in Europe said: “We always knew the Young Guns would do something out of the ordinary with this Scout. They haven’t disappointed. From here this bike will appear at Bike Shed London in a few week’s time and then at the Café Racer Festival and Wheels & Waves in June.

We love the Young Guns’ headless chicken logo and we cannot wait to hear Miracle Mike snarl its way to some wins this summer. Indian is certainly re-firing up its racing spirit, both in America on the flat track and here in Europe with this sprint racing and the DTRA Hooligan championship. This is something you’ll be seeing more of from Indian.”

One of the three organizers of Art & Wheels, Marc Baier, says he was thrilled that Indian chose his show to unveil the bike for the first time. “Our show began to share our love of art and motorcycling,” he says. “We’ve known the Young Guns for a while now and were happy they wanted to unveil this bike for the first time in their home country and at a show they’ve supported for many years.”

The build has had support from Öhlins Racing, Akrapovic and Brembo. In particular, this Scout has a set of Brembo’s best brakes. Roberto Pellegrini, Brembo Performance Motorcycle Market Manager said it was a pleasure for Brembo to collaborate with Indian Motorcycle on this new challenging project adding: “The bike is equipped with the best brake components in terms of performance, with also a particular attention to the design of the products.

The front caliper is the Brembo GP4-RX, which represents a significant development in brake caliper design, thanks to the use of software derived from Brembo’s racing experience. This new solution has enabled Brembo to optimise the shape of the brake caliper machining and marks a radical change from standard racing caliper shapes. The braking surface of the SuperSport brake disc is drilled and connected with 10 floating aluminium bushes, the same used in top racing machines.”

The Young Guns will now travel to Bike Shed London (Friday 26th to Sunday 28th May) and their first Essenza race is soon after at the Café Racer Festival in Montlhery on Saturday 10th June (rider to be announced).

Nik and Fabian will also enter Miracle Mike in the Punks Peak race on the Friday of the Wheels & Waves festival (which Indian Motorcycle is sponsoring). This race takes place along the GI-3440 mountain road between San Sebastian and the airport in Spain.

VETERANS ANNOUNCEMENT–
Hurrah Sharon!! Thank you!

I am honored to have authored legislation in 2014 that put us on a path toward state and federal approval of plans that will lead to the construction and operation of Orange County’s very own veterans cemetery project.

The law I wrote for that purpose brought funding to pay for preparation of a site agreed to by veterans and local, state and federal officials. Now, there is still more work to be done to see this through, and I will continue to push the state to do its part on the project.

Recently, I have heard from a number of veterans regarding a new proposal the developer and city of Irvine have floated for a different site. There are pluses and minuses to both the current and newly proposed sites, and I am open to being convinced that the new proposal is a better alternative.

The city of Irvine deserves high praise for making a $38 million commitment to a veterans cemetery. This is a major step forward in finally bringing a fitting resting place for our local service members who gave so much for their country and our freedoms.

What matters is that we deliver a cemetery that honors the brave men and women who have served our country in defense of our freedoms and way of life.

The key issues in this situation are: 1) Making sure taxpayers are compensated for tax money already spent on the new site; 2) Ensuring that the switch will not cause delays in delivering the cemetery; 3) Bringing all parties to agreement in an expedited fashion; and 4) Having legal assurances that Five Points, the developer, will follow-through on the cemetery.

In short, it’s all about honoring our veterans. Let us re-double our efforts to make that happen quickly and at minimal cost to taxpayers. I have confidence the city will work with all interested parties, especially our California veterans, to ensure they receive the proper recognition they deserve. Members of the public deserve the right to review all proposals and ask questions. This is the only way the community can have confidence decisions are being made in their best interests.

The men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this nation deserve proper recognition without further delay; and, the taxpayers of Orange County need to know they will not be asked to foot the bill for big land developers. I urge all parties to proceed with these two goals in mind.

And for further information, I invite you to visit my website at http://a65.asmdc.org

THE BLONDE WING OF THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY IS STILL OPEN–

One day they decide that after she leaves, they’ll take off early, too. After all, she never calls or comes back, so how is she to know?
The brunette is thrilled to get home early.

She does a little gardening, watches a movie and then goes to bed early.

The redhead is elated to be able to get in a quick workout at her health club before meeting a dinner date.

The blonde is also very happy to be home early, but as she goes upstairs she hears noises coming from her bedroom. She quietly opens the door a crack and is mortified to see her husband in bed with HER BOSS!

Ever so gently, she closes the door and creeps out of her house.

The next day, the brunette and the redhead talk about leaving early again, but when they ask the blonde if she wants to leave early also, she exclaims, “NO WAY! I almost got caught yesterday!”

AUSTRALIAN CLUB REPORT–
Aussie tax office targets club members in nationwide money laundering crackdown
Thursday, 18 May 2017

The Australian Tax Office says it is targeting 200 motorcycle club members as part of a nationwide crackdown on money laundering.
The tax office is coordinating with state and federal police officers in the hope of recovering debts of nearly $4 million.

Former NSW assistant police commissioner Clive Small said outlaw clubs were still active, but now boasted much lower profiles.

“They’re not wearing their designated names on their jackets and things of that nature and they are taking a lower profile,” Mr Small said.

“In one sense that’s good, but in another sense it makes them harder to detect.”

Mr Small said the tax evasion crackdown took the profit out of crime and challenged the ability of groups to make profits illegally.

“It’s critical and very important to have that strategy in place — it can make them more cautious, reduce their crime and perhaps even turn them into lawful activities,” he said.

He said increased coordination between state and federal counterparts was incredibly important in tackling organised crime.

“You have groups like outlaw motorcycle gangs which are predominantly committing state offences, but they are crossing the state borders and we need a Commonwealth coordination,” Mr Small said.

“They are still a major problem and they are still a major threat to us, and a lot of work has to be done to deal with them.”

Bikies say they’re unfairly targeted

Queensland’s crime laws were overhauled in November, banning motorcycle club members from wearing their club colours in all public places, with most other states following suit.

Operation Morpheus, a taskforce aimed at disrupting outlaw clubs, prosecuted 35 people in 2015 and 2016 for failing to lodge tax returns, raising $55,000 in fines.

Mick Kosenko from the United Motorcycle Council of Queensland said wrongdoing should be punished but that little had come of the recent targeting of motorcycle clubs.

“They’ve already spent $500 million targeting us and I just hope it’s not another waste of taxpayers money,” Mr Kosenko said.

“They’ve spent so much money and no-one has been sent to jail. They haven’t really done anything so far.”

He said hundreds of bikers were still being targeted unfairly by authorities.

“I know firsthand hundreds of people who have done nothing wrong all their lives and then all of a sudden they have been made criminals by the Government,” Mr Kosenko said.

“It’s just wrong and it’s not just them who are suffering, it’s their wives their children.”

Lucky Daves brings to market our line of performance driven seats. You can expect the same superior quality with our seats as you have come to count on with all of our parts.

Available in Tuck n’ Roll or Double Diamond stitch, this high back design will give you plenty of support and comfort no matter what type of riding you are doing. Our seat is designed to keep you locked in that sweet spot. In addition the rider will benefit from medical grade gel inserts not only for them but also the passenger. We prefer the sound of a properly tuned evo or twin cam as opposed to a whining passenger! During R&D we found that we can easily ad a couple hundred miles to a day of riding with this gel as it isolates vibration and dramatically reduces fatigue.

We believe in it so much that it comes standard in all of our seats! At checkout you will be given the option to specify what color stitching you would like. This refers to the colored ring around our LD logo. Options are Black, Red, Grey, White or Gold. On Diamond Stitch Pattern the stitching on the actual seat portion will match the colored ring around the LD logo.

All of our seats are made using closed cell foam and medical grade gel. The closed cell foam does not break down over time giving you the support your need and evenly dispersing pressure.

The medical grade gel promotes circulation and reduces up to 90 percent of the vibration transferred through the seat from your motorcycle to your body.

QUICK, KEEP THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY OPEN–
An Engineer dies… and goes to Hell. Dissatisfied with the level of comfort, he starts designing and building improvements.

After a while, Hell has air conditioning, flush toilets and escalators. The engineer is a pretty popular guy.

One day God calls and asks Satan, “So, how’s it going down there?”

Satan says, “Hey things are going great. We’ve got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there’s no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next.”

God is horrified. “What? You’ve got an engineer? That’s a mistake – he should never have gone down there! You know all engineers go to Heaven. Send him up here! “

Satan says, “No way. I like having an engineer on the staff. I’m keeping him.”

God says, “Send him back up here or I’ll sue.”

“Yeah, right,” Satan laughs, “and where are you going to get a lawyer?”

THE END—
Everything will be all right in the end. If it’s not all right, it’s not the end. It’s all nuts, but here at Bikernet we live by the Code of the West.

“We are having a good time, everyday, and screw the glass half empty side. We’ve created a motorcycle nirvana and enjoy the vibe, the fun, the rides, the girls, the whiskey, the stories, building bikes, writing techs and waiting for the next project to unfold.

There are others in the industry who get it. We didn’t jump into the motorcycle industry to get rich. We did it because we like the chromed pallet. We like to build wild motorcycles and cut across town in the middle of the night.

We like grease under our nails. Hell, Kraft Tech inspired me to build another motorcycle, a Panhead and take it to Sturgis this year. Brad Olsen inspired me with an engine offer, and I just bought a set of late model Panheads on Ebay from Parts Venue back east. I needed outside oilers.

I’m going to ship my World’s Fastest Panheads to the Sturgis Museum for display in the next couple of months. They were the first two bikes Valerie Thompson set World Land Speed Records on. Now she’s the fasted woman on two wheels.

Hang on for lots of Bikernet content from Spectro, our Dyna techs, a rat bike from Fenton, a Cantina Story, you name it.

It’s never dull, and we never stop fighting for our freedoms.
