ADAM CROFT RESTORES FOR HIS DAUGHTER–Hope you and the crew are doing well. I just completed my daughter’s 1974 Honda CL360. I named it DirtBall and wanted to share it with Bikernet. It runs great after sitting for over 15 years. I put a lot of heart and soul into this motorcycle.

My vision is complete and I will be showing the motorcycle this year at the shows. One being the Ultimate Builder show in Chicago, IL in a couple weeks. It is a great show that always draws huge crowds and good times.

She is 6, I will be giving her rides for now. I have five kids and building them all a motorcycle for when they are street legal. I am using five different styles. Started with my XS650 street tracker, the Cl360 enduro, next is a hardtail bobber, then a brat style motorcycle, lastly a cafe racer.

Here’s a pic of my hardtail XS650 for my son Dalton. It features a Harlot Cycles one off hardtail section, a Billy Lane front wheel that he personally laced for me, Indian dirtbike gas tank and Robby Smith shaved the legs and cut down the front axle to accommodate the 21-inch spool wheel. Hoping everything works out to have it complete for next years motorcycle shows.

UNCLE MONKEY ON THE ART OF COMPROMISE–We are all one and the same. At least that is want we think.

It is disappointing to discover that your family or your closest friends don’t share the same point of view, the same beliefs as you. Both of you stand firm in your belief, both refusing to budge. That is because to compromise, to even accept that someone else’s point of view is valid is to admit that in some way your own convictions are wrong. And how can we be wrong.

We grew up with these beliefs, with these thoughts. It is a core belief that helps to define who we are, where we fit into society, where we fit into the world. No one wants to be in the wrong; no one wants to be the villain.

It is a tribe mentality deeply ingrained into us. Those others are competing with us for food, competing with us for resources, competing with us for survival, survival of the fittest. But as civilization grew it became apparent that there were enough resources enough land for everyone to prosper. But that ingrained tribe mentality still exists so we funnel it into sports. My team is the best team in the league, yours is a bunch of chumps. If your team wins it’s because they got lucky, because the referees were bias because it is impossible for my team to be the weaker team. When we win it is because we are skilled, we are talented.

Professional sports are built around that mentality. It makes us root for the home team, makes us feel part of a tribe, one of the warriors grinding out a victory on the field, on the ice, on the diamond, on the pitch. The tribe mentality permeates throughout our lives. Harley’s are the best – Japanese bikes are crap. Rivalry is good in that it encourage innovation, creativity.

The problem comes when we become so focused on our own tribe, our own team that we forget to see the bigger picture and begin alienating those that of our own. We miss the bigger picture. A bigger picture that my team is just one of many teams of a league. Without the league our team will fail to exist. We forget that our brand of choice is just one brand of motorcycle and that our motorcycle cannot do everything, is not suited for every possible need. And just like our team improves with trading players to and from other teams, just like our bikes keep getting better by incorporating other bikes technology we can’t lose sight that in the end we are all part of the same global tribe.

Team HeadBlade/Capone Racing – NITRO NITRO NITRO

Team HeadBlade and Capone Racing are ready to announce their 2015 Drag race schedule. During the winter break after numerous phone conversations resulting in a trip to the sunny South to test ride for Tracy Kile’s Bad Apple racing’s Top Fuel bike. That’s right– not a pro dragster that Capone had trained on at Rockingham Dragway in the Fall but all the way to Top Fuel 1,000 horsepower fire breathing smoke belching, wheel up 6 second passes.

Capone is one of a very few racers who has stepped from a hot gas powered Pro Modified class to full powered Top Fuel. Although this season will be a learning curve, his performance at West Palm Beach, Fl at Moroso Motorsports Park is a good indication that he can handle the show. Kile will compete in the IHRA Night Of Fire series and Capone will take Team HeadBlade on the Bad Apple Top Fueler to the 3 events with the ManCup Series, NHRA Topeka and the AMRA Bowling Green race, a good variety of events at great facilities.

Capone, “I’m glad that Tracy had the faith to give me a chance with his team and on his bike. This year we’ll spend in R & D with a 2nd bike out of the Bad Apple stable and we’ll see what 2016 will bring. Mark Godin and I are thrilled to have this opportunity.”

“It was awesome at Moroso, the facility and personal are first rate. After doing some real good 60 ft (1.15) and 330 ft passes and Tracy was comfortable, he told me “to let it rip”. That first 6.73 second at 178.10 mph pass was incredible but the second pass at 6.64 at 203 mph, I’m ready to go racing! The tentative plan is that Tracy will run all the IHRA races and I’ll run the ManCup, maybe one NHRA and a couple AMRA’s. The schedule is a work in progress, but whatever-whenever-I’m totally ready.”

Capone’s team consists of Mark Godin, Erin Capone,Lorne Buchanan & Katy Miller.

THE BLONDE JOKE WING OF THE BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY IS OPEN
Three women go to Mexico to celebrate their college graduation. They get drunk, and wake up in jail, only to discover that they are to be executed in the morning, though none of them can remember what they did the night before.

The first one, a redhead, is strapped in the electric chair and is asked if she has any last words.

She says: “I just graduated from Trinity Bible College and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf of the innocent.”

They throw the switch and nothing happens. They all immediately fall to the floor on their knees, beg for forgiveness and release her.

The second one, a brunette, is strapped in and gives her last words. “I just graduated from the University of Illinois School of Law, and I believe in the power of Justice to intervene on the behalf of the innocent.”

They throw the switch and again, nothing happens. Again, they all immediately fall to their knees, beg for forgiveness, and release her.

The last one, a blonde (you knew it), is strapped in and says: “Well, I’m from Ohio and just graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and I’ll tell ya right now, y’all ain’t gonna electrocute nobody if you don’t plug this thing in.”

ATTORNEY MICHAEL HUPY ESCAPES TO CUBA— Living La Vida Loca in Havana

Visiting Cuba is like taking a step back into the 1950s. Rich in tradition and saturated in vibrant colors, Cuba may become the next vacation destination for many Americans.

Attorney Michael Hupy just returned from a trip to Cuba where, among other things, he met and socialized with a local Harlista in Havana.

Harlistas are a group of riders dedicated to Harley-Davidson motorcycles. They eat, sleep and live everything Harley. Despite a decades long ban on trade with Cuba, the American-iron icon is everywhere on the island. Of course, there is no OEM parts store around, but plenty of backyard mechanics use ingenuity, skill and hard work to keep these bikes running.

In Havana, Attorney Hupy met Luis Enrique González, a local personality who is featured in several publications. González is trying to obtain permission to visit the U.S. He wants to experience Sturgis and see the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, but for now, that dream is just that; González has not been able to get permission to travel to the U.S.

Here’s a link to a story about González in National Geographic

With all the tourists flocking to the island since the relaxation of restrictions, and increased trade options looming for the future, some Americans fantasize about living in the exotic country, so long shrouded in mystery and mystique. Before you sell the pick-up truck and pack all your worldly possessions, consider learning more about Cuba first. There’s a wonderful blog by a woman who took up residency some years back, and she gives a real “behind the hype” look at Cuba.

Her blog is at http://hereishavana.com/ Here’s an excerpt from her blog:

“Sure, things are changing fast down here with unprecedented economic reforms having sparked a capitalistic furor and all the multi-tasking, efficiencies, and work ethic the best of such furor engenders.

But really, it’s the same dog with new fleas. Bureaucratic habits and vice; the cradle-to-grave airbag of state support (i.e. a not always effective, and often painful savior); and the absurdist criteria for job security are die-hard tendencies everyone has to navigate.”

Despite the debris, bugs in the food, cigar smoke haze and crowded market-place, bikers will find solace in the motorcycle community there. Cubanos love everything Harley-Davidson.

There’s a lot of envy and drooling by tourists over the old cars you see everywhere, but to Cubans, they’re just a means of getting around. But the bikes, and especially the Harleys; there’s a passion for Milwaukee iron equal to anywhere in the world.

One of the best gathering places for Harlistas in Cuba is the Varadero Rally. Experience that passion for Harley with this YouTube fromVaradero.

DAYTONA BEACH, Baby pulls cocaine from woman’s shirt during traffic stop

Deputies say an 11-month old boy pulled a baggie full of cocaine from inside the shirt of a woman during a traffic stop near Daytona Beach.  Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a car Sunday for traffic violations.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports a K-9 unit arrived to check the car and deputies asked the occupants to step outside with the baby. No drugs were found inside the car, but as the deputy handed a driver’s license to Candyce Harden, the baby reached inside her shirt and pulled out the baggie. It’s unclear who the baby belongs to.

An arrest report says deputies found three more baggies and pills without a prescription.

Harden faces multiple charges including child abuse and possession of drugs.

BIKERNET OFFICIAL CERTIFIED PHILOSOPHER ON PROCRASTINATION
Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest of diseases and its toll on success and happiness is heavy. –Wayne Gretzky

Procrastination robs us of Life. I think about how much time I have wasted on procrastination, even worse how I have beat myself for not just doing it. It seems that many of us have a bad habit of put things off until tomorrow that we should have done yesterday. Then tomorrow comes and we feel guilty for what we didn’t do yesterday and waste a lot of energy on guilt rather than just doing it and moving on.

How many opportunities have we lost because of procrastination? I think back many years to when I was back in school and the habits I developed when it came to getting a project done. I may have had a week to do it, and procrastinate until the night before to start. Then I would rush through and end up with a poor market and feel guilty.

As time passes quicker and quicker with age I have decided to quit procrastinating and get things done. Remember procrastination is like a credit card, it doesn’t really hit home until we get the bill and see how much interest we are paying.

Today’s Affirmation: As I begin the gift of today I pause to set myself with success. I take the time to center myself and make a Conscious decision that I am going to be persistent and consistent on today’s journey. I am not going to waste another second on procrastination. I am going to prioritize my tasks and get what needs to be done.

I am grateful for this clarity and I am going to enjoy the fruits of getting ‘er done!

And So It Is–
Namaste’

For every minute you procrastinate you lose 60 seconds of Peace knowing the task is done.

Cuba’s Cars–From A member of the Corvette Club – very interesting!

Two years ago we went to Cuba because I wanted to see it before it changed, due to Castro dying or improved US relations. My timing was good.

Most of the cars there are really junkers, some are good, but only a very few are collector worthy.

The best one I saw was an Edsel convertible of which there were only two in the whole country.

BAD POLITICIAN FILES DISCOVERED–Convicted mayor’s partner gets 8-plus years in prison.

MIAMI — The business partner of North Miami’s former mayor has been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison for his role in a multimillion-dollar mortgage fraud scam.

A federal judge imposed the sentence Monday on Karl Oreste, 56, who pleaded guilty in July to a wire fraud conspiracy charge. The former mayor, Lucie Tondreau, was convicted in the case in December following a two-week jury trial and faces sentencing in March. Prosecutors say Tondreau, Oreste and others conspired before she became mayor to defraud lenders using straw buyers, who obtained inflated loans for 20 properties. The scheme allegedly involved recruiting buyers through a radio program catering to Haitian-American listeners.

Tondreau had been North Miami’s first female Haitian-American mayor. A new mayor, Smith Joseph, has been elected.

MEMORIAL PARTY FOR TATTOO MARTY
Biker, Famous Tattoo Artist and my Friend “TATTOO MARTY” passed away of a heart attack in January.

A memorial service was held for him on 2/1/2015 at the American Legion Post 81 in Melbourne Florida. Hundreds of people showed up to pay their respects.

Following the service at the legion his ashes as per his request was transported by motorcycle to Longpoint Park where they were released into the water. This is a place he liked and often camped with friends and family.

A large container of Orange Juice and Vodka which was a favorite of Marty was supplied and used as a Toast To Him.

After the ceremony at the park people went to various local businesses to continue the celebration.

I would like to personally thank everyone who worked to make this a memorable event.
I would also like to say SHAME ON LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT WHO ATTEMPTED TO DEMAND MONEY TO BLOCK INTERSECTIONS AND PROVIDE AN ESCORT.

The Bikers Left The Legion In Small Groups and Obeyed All Traffic Signals but this spread the pack out. Everything went well and I personally feel better than if Law Enforcement was involved.

The craftsmanship, design and innovation were just outstanding. For example, Kyle Shorey of Shadetree Fabrication brought in a slick little Softail that was built off his kit that allows you to convert your sled into an old-school bobber in a matter of hours. Platinum Motorcycles brought in a crazy Kawasaki ZX14 bagger. It’s being developed into a kit so that anyone with a little talent can ride a sportbike as a bagger.

Harry’s Oldstyle Bikeshow, 2014

Harry’s third year with his dream of doing an old school bike show.

This is Harry’s third year with his dream of doing an old school bike show, just like we used to read about in American bike magazines, which appeals to the young and old to this day.

1st of November we are in the heart of spring but the weather is already into summer apparently, high 30’s celsius is perfect for riding , however when stopped is quite uncomfortably sweaty. That didn’t deter punters coming from all over QLD and NSW.

Harry’s Oldstyle Bikeshow attracted hundreds of awesome bikes let alone the ones who drove out. Roughly 50 men and women entered their Bike for bragging rights to win a trophy. Speaking of trophies I know I said last year Harry raised the bar, he just keeps raising it up. Coxy from Coxy’s Leather worked his magic doing 8 trophies in tooled leather, QLD panel and paint did also for best paint trophy.

The Magnificent ARCH Motorcycle, Part 2

Designing the Ultimate High Tech Front End Components.

In the first article on the most magnificent ARCH driveline, I mentioned Gard Hollinger’s motorcycle mantra, his two-wheeled mission, once he became the keeper of the ARCH. It’s one thing to build the coolest one-off custom motorcycle on the planet, if that’s even possible, but turn it into a world class production motorcycle, and now you’re talkin’ a whole new level of creative synergy, regulations, management, manufacturing, marketing, you name it.

In this chapter, we will discuss only the front end components, including this short list: handling, rake, frame geometry, front fender construction, front brakes, headlight, cowling materials, carbon fiber manufacturing, wiring, electronics, gauges, handlebars, risers, levers, throttle, front axle, axle spacer design, front wheel manufacturing, and what the hell did I forget?

On a 2015 Harley-Davidson Freewheeler, Triking Viking & Christina.

Over Singapore Slings at the Buddha Bar a lively discussion ensued about the many spectacular Hindu and Buddhist temples that dot Los Angeles and vicinity. The intoxicating topic (and strong drinks) got us all monked-up which inspired this Triking Viking to take a trek on my trike to see these shrines. Turns out there are some 50 such sanctuaries in Southern California, so with zen in hand my Norwegian sidekick, Christina and I hit the road. The Hsi Lai Temple, located Hacienda Heights was our first stop.

Though all 12 apostles are in fighting form, the biggest challenge the Vatican Saints face is: Will the faithful attend church? Christian congregations across the U.S. have canceled worship services allowing families to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday. Although claiming its not sinful are the faithful willing to forfeit rapture for rushing yards? The Nepal Monks have a big advantage this game since their devotees believe in reincarnation and rebirth, they always get a second chance. VERY SUCCESSFUL EUROPEAN MOTORCYCLISTS’ FORUM— will add to motorcycle road safety.

On the 3th of February 2015 the European Motorcyclists’ Forum 2015, organised by the Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations (FEMA), ended in the European Parliament with a panel discussion of the outcomes of the RIDERSCAN project. Co-funded by the European Commission, the RIDERSCAN project gathers existing information on motorcycle safety in Europe, identifies needs for action and creates a cross-border knowledge-based network.

After a series of presentations and discussions on the 2nd of February the second day was used to obtain views on the outcomes of the RIDERSCAN project, and also on the mid-tern evaluation of the European Commission Road Safety Policy Orientations 2011-2020, from Szabolcs Schmidt (Head of the Road Safety Unit, Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) of the European Commission), members of the European parliament Inés Ayalá-Sender and Wim van de Camp, FIM CAP Director Jesper Christenson and FEMA General Secretary Dolf Willigers. Finally Pierre van Elslande, Chairman of the ITF Working Group presented some of the outcomes of the OECD/ITF Motorcycle safety report.

During the morning it became clear that the huge amount of information the RIDERSCAN project has generated will be very useful for the European Commission, and Mr. Schmidt expressed his gratitude for this, saying that the outcomes of the project were very useful and would certainly be taken into account in the mid-tern evaluation of the European Commission Road Safety Policy Orientations 2011-2020. Mr. Van de Camp and Ms. Ayalá-Sender saw room for improvement of the Road Safety Policy and emphasized the need to use the information of RIDERSCAN in this. They also foresaw a growing role for powered two wheelers (PTWs) in future mobility.

Mr. Van de Camp also invited the motorcycle community to give him input for the mid-tern evaluation of the European Commission Road Safety Policy Orientations 2011-2020 in the European Parliament. Mr. Christensen emphasized the need for better training and licensing; he drew attention to the fact that the present Driving License Directive has discriminatory effects on women and smaller men and asked that this issue be addressed. He also asked for better infrastructure and standards for barriers that will take riders into account.

Mr. Willigers stated, that the use of powered two wheelers was part of the solution for present and future congestion problems and therefore using a PTW should made safer. He expressed the hope that the outcomes of the RIDERSCAN project and the willingness of the European Commission to use them would contribute to this.

Mr. Van Elslande referred in his presentation to a growing role of PTWs in global mobility, a disproportional number of casualties of riders and the need to take action on this. The OECD/ITF report will contain recommendations to enhance motorcycle road safety.

The Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations (FEMA) is the European federation of national road rider organisations. FEMA represents, defends and promotes motorcycling and the interests of millions of powered two-wheeler users across Europe. FEMA’s membership of 22 national organisations from 16 countries represent over 300,000 dedicated motorcyclists from all social groups. FEMA’s primary objective is to represent European motorcyclists both within the European Union and agencies of the United Nations. More information on www.fema-online.eu

The RIDERSCAN project, A European Scanning Tour for Motorcycle Safety is an EU co-financed project, aiming at taking a magnifying glass and look at country’s expertise on motorcycle safety, to draw recommendations for EU and national concrete action (more information on www.riderscan.eu).

The European Motorcyclists Forum is a European platform for discussion set up by the European Commission and FEMA to enhance discussions on issues of common interest related to PTWs. The platform has been focusing on safety matters for the duration of the RIDERSCAN project.

SHERIFF WHO BRAGGED POLICE DOG RIPPED TESTICLES OFF SUSPECT ALSO TOLD DRIVERS TO RUN OVER PROTESTERS
–from counter current news, florida

The Sheriff for Palm Beach County, Florida, has found himself at the center of controversy, after he encouraged drivers to run into protesters. The statement was made at a community meeting in Boynton Beach, Florida. The Sheriff reportedly told a group of citizens that they should run over protesters if they are observed blocking the road.

In the January 14th meeting, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office stoked racial fears, calling for vehicular assaults and homicides in response to protesters who he characterized as “violent thugs” who “killed white people with hammers in other parts of the country.”

The Sheriff continued, telling a concerned elderly lady that, “Your safety is far more valuable than those violent thugs illegally blocking the roadways. If you see the protesters, and you can’t back up, stopping will make you an easy target for violence, robbery or murder. If you are driving on a Florida roadway, it is up to them to move, so sit as low as possible in your car and accelerate forward. If you run over protesters, remember that your safety comes first and they shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Whatever you do, I can’t emphasize enough how important enough it is not to stop and if they are injured, they brought it upon themselves.”

Recently, an investigative reporter for local WPTV Channel 5, Katie Legrone, exposed the Sheriff’s involvement in a massive cover-up related to the killing of two African American deputies who had been deploying stop sticks. A Caucasian deputy driving over 106 mph ran into them, but in spite of the lead traffic homicide investigator determining that the deputy driving should be charged with vehicular manslaughter, Sheriff Bradshaw removed that investigator from the case and replaced him with one who would find the deputy innocent of any wrongdoing.

Sheriff Bradshaw also has been at the center of more than 40 discrimination lawsuits filed against him. One of these resulted in a payout of over $1 million. Another stated that he showed photos and bragged about an incident where a police canine ripped the testicles off an African American man. He was also found to have stolen weapons out of the police evidence locker, presumably to plant an illegal gun on a suspect at a later date.

NEW TEXAS LAW PROBLEMS–A new law entitled “Malorie’s Law” went into effect on January 1 in Texas which is causing serious confusion for thousands of motorcyclists across the state. A wide range of professionals from the motorcycling industry in the state were contacted to find out how the law would affect them and every single contact expressed concern about the woefully lacking details.

Malorie’s Law was introduced by Texas State Representative Larry Phillips (R) of Sherman, Texas to address the loss of 19-year-old Malorie Bullock who was the passenger on a motorcycle in a one-vehicle wreck that took her life; her boyfriend was driving the motorcycle.

The new law states the following:

MOTORCYCLE FOOTRESTS AND HANDHOLDS REQUIRED. A motorcycle that is designed to carry more than one person must be equipped with footrests and handholds for use by the passenger.

“We have been flooded with phone calls,” says Gene Slater, GM of Rick Fairless’ Strokers Dallas. “I’ve spent at least half a day re-reading the law and doing research to try to find answers and I am shocked at how vague this law is. We have received no advance notification from any agency that this was going into effect and the criteria so that we could plan accordingly.”

Many industry professionals expressed dismay that Malorie’s Law passed to start with and went into effect with seemingly no advice from the Texas motorcycling community. This speaks volumes about how much the state riders need to band together to ensure their rights and avoid situations like Malorie’s Law.

For motorcyclists – and dealerships/shops – just some of questions include:
· What, exactly, defines a handhold?

· Even though a motorcycle may be manufactured to hold two people, if the bike owner has it outfitted with a seat designed for only one person, will handholds still be required?

· What year model bikes does this take effect with and/or does it affect vintage or custom motorcycles?

· How does this law affect riders from other states simply traveling to / through Texas?

Upon initial contact with the Texas Department of Public Safety, a spokesperson stated that the new law would “not be interpreted by just one agency; each agency may interpret it differently.”

Follow up contact was made with both the DPS office and Rep. Larry Phillips for clarification with 10 initial questions. At the time of this writing, there has been no reply from Rep Phillips office and DPS has forwarded on the questions to their “subject matter experts” yet are vague when it comes to confirming whether their experts will reply with the requested answers in order to meet media deadlines.

Punishment for not abiding by Malorie’s Law is considered a Class C Misdemeanor and punishable by a fine up to $500.

Cops Beat Their Wives & Girlfriends At Double The National Rate, Still Receive Promotions
By Matt Agorist on May 7, 2014

Statistics show that 1 in 4 women in the US is a victim of domestic violence, those numbers jump to 1 in 2 if they are married to a cop.

Law Enforcement officers beat their significant other at nearly double the national average. Several studies, according to Diane Wetendorf, author of Police Domestic Violence: Handbook for Victims, indicate that women suffer domestic abuse in at least 40 percent of police officer families. For American women overall, the figure is 25 percent, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to The Advocates for Human Rights Organization, studies indicate that police families are 2-4 times more likely than the general population to experience domestic violence, making the potential for disparities in protective success particularly troubling.

Historian John Emerich Edward Dalberg-Acton, has a famous quote, Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This rings true through all levels of government ‘power,’ however it is particular prevalent among police officers.

Sociopaths are attracted to positions in which they are able to assert authority over others, so it should come as no surprise that there are higher concentrations of sociopaths within law enforcement.

The trouble with spousal abuse lies in the very nature of police work. The authority and control in the wrong hands, will be misused, according to domestic violence counselors.

What makes police domestic violence more difficult to deal with is the fact that women feel scared to report it. Even advocates for battered women are reluctant to dive into domestic violence cases involving police for fear of alienating the agencies they rely upon for help in other abuse cases, according to a report by SFGate.

When other women report their abuse, they do so to law enforcement officers. Think about it from the position of the one being abused by a law enforcement officer. The one doing the beating is simultaneously holding a position in which they are tasked with preventing that very abuse!

“There are a lot of good cops who go into the work for the right reasons, to help people. But then you have these others who are more interested in the authority, in the badge and the gun.”  Diane Wetendorf told SFGate in an interview,  Wetendorf points out the most common fears when reporting police domestic abuse in her handbook: If your abuser is an officer of the law, you may be afraid to:

· Call the police — He is the police.
· Go to a shelter — He knows where the shelters are located.
· Have him arrested — Responding officers may invoke the code of silence.
· Take him to court — It’s your word against that of an officer, and he knows the system.
· Drop the charges — You could lose any future credibility and protection.

· Seek a conviction — He will probably lose his job and retaliate against you.

These fears can make someone feel incredibly trapped and feel like there is no way out.

If you or someone you know is a victim of this type of abuse we encourage you to no longer remain silent. As long as people go unpunished for their abuse, they will continue their abuse.

Film it, record it, expose it in any manner you can. Tell us your story and we will expose these abusive jackboots for the cowards they are.

HEALTH ISSUE OF THE DECADE— If you think the government has the right to forcibly vaccinate people – for the good of society – what is to prevent them from forcibly sterilizing people, or forcibly euthanizing people, or forcibly implanting a tracking device – for the good of society? You make think those examples are extreme (although two-thirds have happened), but the principle is the same. You are allowing government to have ultimate authority over your body.

So, I’ve been asked, “Why not vaccinate your children? Why not take the influenza vaccine?” Well, I believe the choice is up to you. I’ve covered my thinking about the influenza vaccine in an article in the Journal of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, available online, but here are some facts about childhood vaccines that make me think twice about their use. I traced these points back to the source, so these are not blindly reprinted from hearsay Internet articles. In some cases I found public references to be wrong but the data to be correct when I got to the source. Much of this comes from government reporting. Anyone can research disease incidence by reading MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) from the CDC and accessing the search engine for VAERS (Vaccine complication reporting site) at http://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/index.php.

1. Since 2005 (and even before that), there have been no deaths in the U.S. from measles, but there have been 86 deaths from MMR vaccine – 68 of them in children under 3 years old. And there were nearly 2,000 disabled.

2. In countries which use BCG vaccinations against tuberculosis, the incidence of Type I diabetes in children under 14 is nearly double. (“Infectious Disease in Clinical Practice” no. 6 pages 449-454, 1997)

3. As reported in Lancet in 1995, inflammatory bowel disease (i.e. Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis) is 13 times more prevalent in persons vaccinated for measles.

4. In a nested case-control study within the General Practice Research Database (GPRD) in the United Kingdom, patients who had a first MS (Multiple Sclerosis) diagnosis recorded were compared with controls. The authors concluded that immunization with the recombinant hepatitis B vaccine is associated with a threefold increased risk of developing MS (Hernan et al., 2004). No increased risk of MS was associated with other vaccines, which included tetanus and influenza vaccinations.

5. In 1982 William Torch, a prolific researcher and publisher on Neurologic topics, presented a paper (later published) at the American Academy of Neurology reviewing SIDS deaths. He reported that in 100 consecutive cases, 70 percent of SIDS deaths occurred within three weeks of pertussis vaccination. In very convincing confirmation, a Japanese prefecture stopped vaccinating after associating SIDS with the pertussis vaccine. It is worth reading the entire description from Viera Scheibner, PhD:

6. A mail survey was done of 635 children in the Netherlands in 2004. German measles and whooping cough (pertussis) were twice as common in unvaccinated children. However, throat inflammations, ear infections, rheumatologic complaints, seizures and febrile convulsions were much more common in the vaccinated group. Aggressive behavioral episodes were eight times more frequent in vaccinated children, and sleep disordered more often. Tonsils were removed in 33 percent of children who had been vaccinated vs. 7.3 percent unvaccinated.

7. In 1947, the first reports of brain inflammation and chronic brain damage, including death, after pertussis vaccination began to be published (Brody, 1947; Byers and Moll, 1948, Low, 1955, Berg, 1958; Strom, 1960, 1967; Dick, 1967, 1974; Kuhlenkampff, 1974; Stewart, 1977, 1979). But it took more than 40 years of collective evidence before academic medicine decided it was true –1981 National Childhood Encephalopathy Study (NCES) and in 1991 and 1994 by the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences.

In 1991, after reviewing vaccine safety, the Institute of Medicine admitted, “In the course of its review, the committee encountered many gaps and limitations in knowledge bearing directly or indirectly on the safety of vaccines. These include inadequate understanding of the biologic mechanisms underlying adverse events following natural infection or immunization, insufficient or inconsistent information from case reports and case series, inadequate size or length of follow-up of many population based epidemiologic studies [and] few experimental studies published in relation to the number of epidemiologic studies published.”

So the next question is: Does vaccination work? Does it really protect you against disease? The answer is variable. Smallpox vaccine seems to be nearly universally protective against the very fatal disease of smallpox, and use of vaccine led to the eradication of the disease in the wild. But the dirty little secret in recent outbreaks of mumps, measles and pertussis is – they are occurring in vaccinated people in highly vaccinated populations!

In 2006 an epidemic of mumps broke out in my state of Iowa. Ultimately, 11 states reported 2,597 cases of mumps. The majority of mumps cases (1,487) were reported from Iowa. As reported in “Mumps Epidemic – Iowa, 2006,” “Despite control efforts and a highly vaccinated population, this epidemic has spread across Iowa and potentially to neighboring states.” According to the CDC, “During the prevaccine era, nearly everyone in the United States experienced mumps, and 90 percent of cases occurred among children, although 97 percent of children entering school in Iowa had received two doses of MMR vaccine. ” Of note, this outbreak mostly occurred in young adults of college age who had received the vaccine. Only 6 percent of those affected were known to be unvaccinated, 12 percent received one dose of MMR vaccine, 51 percent had two doses of MMR vaccine, and 31 percent (mostly adults) were not sure of their immunization history.

In 2008-2009, Australia had epidemics of whooping cough and measles. Health authorities there must reveal the vaccination status of children in epidemics. Eighty-four percent of Australian children who got whooping cough were fully vaccinated, and 78 percent who got measles had record of measles vaccination.

In the 2010 outbreak of whooping cough in California, well over half the victims were fully vaccinated..,

BIKERNET UNIVERSITY ENGLISH DEPARTMENT CARING VOCABULARY LESSON OF THE DAY—Succorance: SUHK-er-uh ns

noun

1. the act of seeking out affectionate care and social support.

Quotes
Here, food in general, and the feeding of someone else in particular…are equated with love, succorance, with a bond between caring parties, with the largely selfless, human act, and Chaplin uses food in motifs that point us toward what distinguishes a civilized society from a jungle.

— Jay Boyer, “Cry Food: The Use of Food as a Comic Motif in the Films of Charlie Chaplin,” Beyond the Stars: Studies in American Film, 1993

Origin
Succorance is formed from the root word succor meaning “help; relief.” Succor, in turn, stems from the Latin term succurrere meaning “to go beneath, run to help.” Succorance entered English in the 1930s.

THE HUPY/ABRAHAM WEEKLY REPORT, NO PRIVACY ON FACEBOOK
I always fell like, Somebody’s watching me…Rockwell

Many of us dabble on Facebook as a way to stay connected to friends, post events, or engage in meaningless dribble or political diatribe. There’s also the deluge of photographs depicting everything we do and everyone we meet. This all sounds harmless and even a little ridiculous to those hardliners who refuse to be caught up in the social media craze. But beware!

Even though you select privacy settings on your account, your expectation to privacy is limited by the mere fact that when you created your Facebook account, you acknowledged that personal information would be shared with other users. That is the nature and purpose of these social networking sites in the first place.

This is not limited to only Facebook; the same holds true for MySpace, LinkedIn, Meetup, MyLife and more.

People really get into trouble when they post comments or pictures while they have an injury claim pending. Our firm warns clients not to participate in social networking while a claim is active. Insurance companies and their investigators do and will examine any networks you might be enrolled in. As an example, Maria Leon Nucci was suing Target Corporation for injuries she sustained in a slip and fall. She claimed bodily injury, pain, medical expenses, emotional pain and suffering, lost earnings and more.

Before taking Nucci’s deposition, the lawyers for Target viewed her Facebook profile and found 1,285 photographs. During the deposition, when it was disclosed that Target saw the photos, Nucci objected claiming privacy protections. Two days later, 36 pictures were removed from Nucci’s page. Target argued that they had a right to view those photos because her suit put her physical and mental condition at issue.

Surveillance video also showed Nucci carrying heavy objects, despite her claims of painful injury. Because she was out in public, her expectation of privacy was limited and the videos were legal. Her privacy suit went before the District Court of Appeal of The State of Florida, Fourth District, and the court held that she had no legitimate expectation of privacy regarding the posting of pictures to her Facebook page.

The Second District Court also commented on such privacy matters in U.S. v. Lifschitz, 369 F.3d 173, 190 (2d Cir.2004), stating “the wider the circle of friends, the more likely posts would be viewed by someone never expected to see them.” Thus, the Second Circuit recognized legitimate expectations of privacy may be lower in e-mails or other Internet transmissions.

Be careful about what you post; the best practice is to avoid saying or posting anything on social media if you have any kind of court case or injury claim pending.

Even with all the precautions and privacy settings, the best security is to not post anything that could come back to bite you, especially if you have any type of legal actions pending.

BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY ALWAYS OPEN--The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

A man and woman were married for many years. Whenever there was a confrontation, yelling could be heard deep into the night.

The old man would shout, “When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!”

Neighbors feared him. The old man liked the fact that he was feared. Then one evening, he died when he was 98.

After the burial, her neighbors, concerned for her safety, asked, “Aren’t you afraid that he may indeed be able to dig his way out of the grave and haunt you for the rest of your life?”

The wife said, “Let him dig. I had him buried upside down…and I know he won’t ask for directions.”

DAYTONA TWIN TECH NEW INSTALLERS
Attention advanced FI tuners and turbo installers!

DAYTONA Twin Tec will be continuing their series of popular fuel injection and tuning seminars at the V-Twin Expo in February.

Timed for the early risers, Kevin Baxter, the company’s Technical Service Manager, will be instructing an advanced fuel injection tuning seminar from 7:30am (until 9am) on Saturday February 7th.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to email Allen Alvarez (allen@daytona-twintec.com) for full details.

Aimed at show attendees who are proficient in fuel injection tuning and computer operation, the seminar will be directed at those tuners who are using Daytona Twin Tec products and who “are serious about tuning”, according to Kevin.
“It is not for those who are only interested in plug and play systems as this seminar is aimed at engine builders, racers and any tuners who install pro-chargers or turbo systems.

“It will also be of use to anyone who has tuned with competitive products and had problems with fly-by-wire. Any show attendees who are not yet very experienced in fuel injection, or are just looking to start out, should come by our booth during show hours for a more personal general system overview.”

BIKERNET TESTIMONIAL–Just wanted to send a note of thanks. I am speaking with a military service guy stationed in Germany who had started on a bike build buying random parts….

He read the article you wrote about our bike kits and is now talking to us to build out the remainder of his bike using our bike kit phase system.

Also, we shipped an international kit to South Africa last week. I’ll send over pictures as soon as my phone finishes backing up… might take a few days.

Oh, and our fuel injected 69 Chopper for Shanghai is finally finished. Turned out great. I’ll send pictures of that also.

Hope all is well with you.

TEXAS ORGANIZATION SHUTS DOWN
On June 28th, 2014 It was decided and voted on by both the District Advisor’s, Officer’s, and the membership, that TMRA2 will be closing our political door’s by the end of 2014 due to lack of interest, leadership, and finances.

I would like to thank all the TMRA2 Warriors who made this association work, many thanks to the TMRA2 Legislative Task Forces who worked the capitol with Sputnik and kicked some serious ass. To all of our financial supporters and chapters who did fundraisers for the cause. To all the members and supporter members, especially the ones who hung in there after we lost our great leader allowing us to continue.

The good news was, at the meeting, Paul Landers reported that the US Defender’s, COC, and the COIR will continue the legacy of walking and talking at the capitol and I have faith in them that they will succeed. They are working on several new bills that will be introduced. You can read about it by going to http://txcocinews.org/.

I want everyone to know, Sputnik would be proud of us for going out as the best motorcycle rights organization in the country, for preserving his legacy, and for supporting the new groups who are working at the capitol in the future May the motorcycle rights work always continue one way or another. That’s the important part of all this, that we keep fighting and never give up.

There are several MRO’s out there you can join and continue the fight.

I CAN’T BELIEVE THE HOLIDAYS WERE YESTERDAY—Then the SuperBowl, now Valentines day and Bike Week is a couple of weeks away. I feel like I need to shove the shifter into overdrive and get on the stick.

I need to finish some pieces for the Bonne Belle. I’m waiting for a new set of shocks for the Mudflap girl from Progressive Suspension, and we’re smoking on the 5-Ball Racing™ Indian.

The first priority after this V-Twin weekend will be to finish my second Chance book and go to press.

Jessica is putting her final touches on the Bikernet Barrack’s door art.

We are looking at several features including this wild piece from Cycle Visions in San Diego and a Bagger from Cycle Visions for Bikernet Baggers.

I continue to describe every element of the new magnificent ARCH motorcycle. I was thinking about buying a house in the Badlands for the rally, but I might buy an ARCH motorcycle instead. Every element is well thought out and constructed. Hell, you never know what might happen tomorrow.
