THE CROSSROADS BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for April 24th, 2025

Hey,

This is beyond wild. The whole world is at a crossroads. We are trying to choose between Truth and Integrity or Corruption and Destruction.

The town of Sturgis is headed into a Crossroads of sorts. This is the 85th Anniversary of the Sturgis Rally and the city needs to make some interesting decisions.

In a sense, it’s not dire but it could be. It’s a time of tremendous opportunity. Sure, the city is struggling through upheavel within, while the world of motorcycling is reaching out to help.

Through the AFT team of Cameron and Gene, more racing will be available to the city than ever before. They are offering in-town TT racing coupled with a whole new class of Adventure Bike racing. They are working with the Jackpine Gypsies to host two rounds of mini-flat track racing for kids. And the Jackpine Gypsies have created a world class AMA motocross track.

That’s not all, and this is the serious icing on the cake. The AFT team has offered to lease the historic half-mile track in Sturgis for three years. After the track languished in the center of town, neglected for over 15 years, they are committed to refurbish the historic racing facility, make it community friendly with walking and jogging paths. Give it access for parades or rodeos and work with the Jackpine Gypsies for the special red clay turf to make flat track racing world class.

Not only will the racing aspect be enhanced, but major OEMs will come to Sturgis like never before to support the action. And you know what will happen, all of these efforts will bring a new demographic of riders into town.

Did you know Sturgis was once considered a Key City, which meant a junction or and valued economic intersection. It would be cool if Sturgis became the nation’s motorcycle Key City, the hub of motorcycling for the America.

Brothers and sisters ride to Sturgis annually to exchange their Indian rides for new models. Now, Harley Riders can do the same. We now have a full-on Sturgis Harley-Davidson Store with new rides, service and parts.

This year is going to be super-exciting for our country, the World and for the motorcycle industry in Sturgis. Let me know what you think.

Let’s hit the news.

The News was provided by the Bikernet Team including: Wayfarer, the Redhead, Bob T. Sam Burns, Laura, Barry Green, El Waggs, J.J. Solari, Amy White, Jenn and the rest of the crew.

CORRUPTION AND DESTRUCTION ON EARTH DAY

Earth Day events are mass delusions

Earth Day celebrators think they are “following the science.”

Here’s what they assume:

They assume natural CO2 is still at its 1750 level of 280 ppm.

They assume human CO2 causes all the increase above 280 ppm.

They assume human CO2 stays in the air longer than natural CO2.

They assume the CO2 level controls global temperature.

They assume an increase in global temperature causes bad stuff to happen.

They assume the existence of changes in weather and climate that they call bad proves their assumptions (1) through (5) are true.

They assume climate model predictions are facts.

They assume “evidence” proves their assumptions are true.

They assume good predictions prove their assumptions are true.

Here’s what Aristotle said 2400 years ago:

We must check our assumptions by using their predictions.

Good predictions do not prove an assumption is true.

It is impossible to prove an assumption is true because the next test may prove it is false.

However, one bad prediction proves the assumption is false. This is the key to science.

Aristotle said, if we do not follow these rules, we are not doing science.

This is the scientific method. Few people understand it.

Some people think the scientific method is just being honest or checking our data carefully. They are wrong.

Earth Day celebrators refuse to check their assumptions.

If they did, they would find that all nine of their assumptions listed above are false.

HISTORY LESSON FROM COMPETITION DISTRIBUTING

Excerpt taken from Motorcycle Classics

When pioneering engineers were hard at work in the nascent motorcycle industry at the turn of the last century, single-cylinder and then twin-cylinder engines reigned supreme. However, some early builders devised multi-cylinder platforms. Take British engineer Colonel Capel Holden; he developed a water-cooled opposed 4-cylinder engine around 1894.

Meanwhile, fellow British designer Charles Binks, perhaps better known for his carburetors, designed an inline-four in 1903 branded as an Evart-Hall. Quantity production never ensued, but the Binks machine lasted until 1905. Then there was FN, or Fabrique Nationale d’Armes de Guerre of Belgium, and its 4-cylinder model.

First introduced to the public in 1905, FN’s Four wasn’t the earliest example of a multi-cylinder machine, but the company does have the distinction of marketing the first full-production four. Fabrique Nationale got its start in 1889 as an arms manufacturer, building under license Mauser-designed rifles. Looking to diversify, FN launched shaft-driven bicycles in 1896, together with chain-driven models. While continuing to make great strides with arms production, FN further diversified with the production of automobiles in 1899, followed shortly after with a motorcycle in October 1901.

FIRST STURGIS MUSEUM RAFFLE EFFORT

Thanks for taking a moment to read this. This is an opportunity to help the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum in multiple ways. Helping the museum directly helps the City of Sturgis, the 85th Rally and our motorcycle Industry.

This is our first raffle effort, and we are pleased to offer some excellent prizes, including an original Danial James oil painting celebrating the 85th Annual Sturgis Rally and the Museum. The illustration highlights the rally and a chopper built by the top ten builders in 2004 for the Discovery Channel Biker Build-off Director Hugh King.

In addition, Easyriders Magazine donated a polished S&S high-performance crate engine. And Danial James painted and donated another fine art hand-embellished giclee dedicated to the 10 historic builders of the featured bike including: Hank young, Eddie Trotta ,Kendall Johnson, Russell Mitchell, Mitch Bergeron, Cory Ness, Arlen Ness, Matt Hotch, Joe Martin, Chica.

This just in, another prize a David Mann giclee featuring the Easyriders Streamliner. With the support of 10,000 Easyriders Magazine readers it set the Motorcycle World Land Speed Record of 322.150 mph in 1990 and held it for 16 years. The Streamliner will be on Exhibit in the Museum during the rally. Don’t miss it.

So, what about the Bike. Keith Ball, the current owner is offering the hotrod Hugh King chopper for sale. Just make an offer and we will throw it into the ring for consideration. All proceeds will go directly to the Museum.

Our major goal is to expand our facility into a World Class Museum over the next five years and we have several options brewing. If we pull it off, there’s currently a 28-historic, American made, bike exhibit opening in the Petersen Museum right now. In two years, this exhibit could come to the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum.

We now have our own Harley-Davidson Dealership in downtown Sturgis. Imagine what could be accomplished if we created a World Class Motorcycle Museum in Sturgis, and what it would accomplish for the museum, the city of Sturgis, The Annual Sturgis Rally and the Motorcycle Industry Worldwide.

Be a part of the movement, buy or sell the enclosed 1st Inaugural Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Raffle tickets. Make an offer on the Hugh “Chopper King” bike and don’t miss the 85th Sturgis Rally. The winning tickets will be pulled at the museum on August 10th. Be there, be there, be there.

TRUMP’S EXAMPLE TO THE WORLD

Cull Activists to Achieve Energy Abundance

Simply by following the lead of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, national leaders of developing countries can clear away obstacles to rational energy policy that have been erected by climate activists.

On April 8, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Protecting American Energy from State Overreach,” a bold step to counter what he described as ideologically driven assaults on his nation’s energy development. The order declares that “American energy dominance is threatened when state and local governments seek to regulate energy beyond their constitutional or statutory authorities.”

The declaration cites examples of states imposing “significant barriers to interstate and international trade” and “arbitrary or excessive fines through retroactive penalties” on energy producers – actions that undermine not just economic vitality but the very principles of federalism.

More than a domestic policy tweak, President Trump’s announcement can be taken as a clarion call to nations worldwide to rein in obstructionism – masquerading as concern for the environment – that cripples energy projects, impedes economic development and threatens national security.

Through executive orders limiting U.S. funding for international climate initiatives, the president has eased disruptive foreign interference in domestic energy policies. However, developing nations, especially those in the Global South, must now take advantage of their newfound freedom to set energy policy.

In the developing world, the fingerprints of climate activism are evident in stalled or abandoned fossil fuel projects – each a lost opportunity for growth. Grassroots movements, often bankrolled by foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and abetted by sympathetic local governments, have stalled critical projects across continents. These efforts, while claiming to save the planet, ignore the human toll of energy poverty: children studying by candlelight, hospitals without power, and economies stunted by unreliable grids.

First, the developing nations should investigate the funding and motives behind climate activism. Who bankrolls these NGOs? Are their campaigns aligned with national interests, or do they serve foreign agendas?

Amsterdam-headquartered Greenpeace International, for example, has undertaken protests of power generated by fossil fuels and nuclear reactors and of coal and aluminum mining across India. Readers must understand that half of India suffers with unreliable electricity supplies that fail regularly at times of peak demand. In one recent week, this Indian writer experienced 2-3 electricity blackouts every day.

A Greenpeace leadership that enjoys the comfort of an industrial economy built with the energy of fossil fuels is now asking poor people in the Third World to forgo energy abundance and rely instead on useless wind turbines and solar panels. To do so is to accept generational poverty for the sake of addressing a fabricated climate emergency with measures that can have no positive effect on the weather in any case.

Africa, home to over 600 million people without access to electricity, stands at the frontline of the battle against energy deprivation. Nigeria, Angola, and Mozambique have vast natural gas reserves, yet face continual opposition from international “green” lobbies.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, one of the world’s poorest countries, the non-profit 350Africa.org coordinated demonstrations against oil and gas exploration, mobilizing hundreds of groups. In Uganda and Tanzania, the $3.5 billion East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) – a lifeline for regional energy integration – has faced relentless opposition from groups like StopEACOP, a coalition bankrolled by various nonprofits.

Second, governments must assert authority over energy policy, curbing local states or municipalities that align with crusades against fossil fuels. Many cities across the developing world have designated themselves as Net-Zero entities under an initiative of the World Economic Forum.

It is exasperating to see cities, still struggling to provide basic services for the health and safety of their citizens, are willing to prioritize foolish opposition to rational energy development. It is even more weird that municipal leaders would align with foreign organizations like the World Economic Forum and United Nations in opposition to their own national interests.

Third, legal mechanisms should be used to deter frivolous lawsuits and protests. African nations rich in energy resources could adopt statutes penalizing activism that delays critical infrastructure without evidence of harm, mirroring the U.S. Attorney General’s mandate to challenge unconstitutional state and local laws. Such measures would shift the burden onto activists to justify their claims, rather than paralyzing projects by default.

Energy security is national security, and no ideology should usurp that. From Nigeria’s oil fields to India’s coal mines, national leaders must dismantle the puppet masters – and puppets – behind efforts to stymie sensible energy use and clear a path for energy abundance and eradication of poverty.

DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN’S RIDE INDIA–

Wayfarer will be participating in this year’s ride again and has been visiting since 2017.

None of the fundraising is used by any rider or the sponsors. Entire amount goes to charity declared on the website and on registration documents.

I’m Riding for Men’s Health in The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I’m riding in The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health on behalf of Movember.

Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that.

So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I’m asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.

Thanks & regards,
Wayfarer

TEXAL WEATHER REPORT–

Hopefully the recovery is going well!  My mother had hers done a couple years after having both knees done at the same time!  She was one of the last, they won’t do both anymore.

I was unable to send recovery Jack Daniel’s as I’ve been looking for a place to live, either buying a house, renting an apartment (without stairs & a  garage) or something?   I’m even looking 100+ miles away in different cities.  Houston is just too crazy now, they are building subdivisions or apartments everywhere.  The outer roads that use to be rideable are now traffic congested now.

I’ve learned even the VA charges a $2600 “funding fee” now and there is no more No Money Down VA home buys like my previous house 25 years ago.

Talk about a What The Heck moment, when your bike starts pulling itself backwards!  Don’t know how I didn’t see it, water main inspection opening.

LEGISLATIVE NEWS FROM THE DAV–

H.R. 1987, the Saving Our Veterans Lives Act of 2025, aims to reduce veteran suicides by promoting lethal means safety. This bill directs the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to establish a program that provides veterans with lock boxes for secure firearm storage. The legislation also includes an educational component that would ensure veterans are informed about the benefits of secure firearm lock box storage with a goal of more responsible firearm handling and storage practices.

Creating time and space is a critical component to reducing veteran suicides. Providing veterans with secure firearm storage can create a brief time delay, allowing them to reconsider their actions and seek help during moments of crisis. This program promotes a culture of safety within the veterans’ community, fostering a secure environment for all.

We support H.R. 1987 in accordance with DAV Resolution No. 224, which calls for improving and enhancing resources for VA mental health programs and suicide prevention efforts.

We call on DAV members and supporters to contact your elected officials and urge them to cosponsor and support the Saving Our Veterans Lives Act of 2025. As always, we appreciate your support for DAV’s legislative priorities and thank you for participating in DAV’s Commander’s Action Network—DAV CAN.

Bikers Inside the Beltway – Making a Difference.

Legislative success for motorcyclists comes from attendance at the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) Bikers Inside the Beltway. Two of our top legislative successes came because motorcyclists’ rights advocates showed up at Bikers Inside the Beltway.

The Anti-Profiling Resolutions passed the House and Senate because the MRF took the attack against profiling directly to Capitol Hill. Right to Repair & Modify (HR 1566) now ranks near the top of the MRF’s legislative agenda for passage. Our voices are heard clearly at Bikers Inside the Beltway.

The MRF and attendees at Bikes Inside the Beltway visited the offices of all 535 members of Congress in 2023 and 2024. The Motorcycle Riders Foundation and Supporting State Motorcyclists’ Rights Organizations (SSMRO) are committed to protecting the future of motorcyclists’ rights.

Your commitment to defending your rights is critical to our past and future success. Event registration is free. Hotel rooms are limited at the MRF’s contracted rate, which expires tomorrow, April 22!

I Change My Life by Changing My Thoughts

“Whether you think you can, or think you can’t — you’re right.” — Henry Ford

So often we repeat limiting beliefs to ourselves:

“It’s too hard.”

“I don’t have support.”

“I’m too old.”

“I’m not smart enough.”

“I don’t have the energy.”

“What will people think?”

And the list goes on. But are these really your truths — or just old habits of thought?

There are countless people who have succeeded despite facing overwhelming adversity. The difference isn’t their circumstances — it’s their beliefs.

What if today, you started a new conversation with yourself?

What if you affirmed possibilities, instead of rehearsing limitations?

When we shift our thoughts, the Universe responds. It reflects not our wishes, but our dominant beliefs. It listens to the story we tell ourselves — so let’s tell a story of strength, wholeness, and divine support.

Today’s Affirmation

As light dispels darkness, so this Truth I now affirm dissolves all fear and limitation within me.

It silences doubt, dissolves uncertainty, and releases every false belief of lack or unworthiness.

It awakens my imagination with peace, joy, and abundance — and focuses my will on realizing my highest good.

I give thanks that I can change my life by changing my mind.

Today — and every day — I choose my thoughts with intention, knowing the Universe fills my life with what I believe in and have faith in.

And So It Is.

Namaste.

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

— Napoleon Hill

May be an image of 1 person and text that says ‘It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” — Tony Robbins’

FLYING PISTON BENEFIT TO FUND ALL KIDS BIKE PROGRAM

to Empower Kindergarten Students in Daytona Beach, FL

All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.

All Kids Bike, the national 501(c)(3) nonprofit teaching kindergarten students how to ride bikes in PE class, is activating their All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program at RJ Longstreet Elementary School, thanks to a generous donation from the Flying Piston Benefit.

The comprehensive program includes teacher training and certification, complete curriculum with lesson plans, games and activities, a fleet of 24 Strider balance-to-pedal bikes, pedal conversion kits, fully adjustable student helmets, an instructor bike with pedal conversion kit and helmet, two rolling storage racks, and access to a resource portal with live support for the life of the program.

RJ Longstreet Elementary School celebrated the introduction of the program with a kickoff event alongside Teddy Morse’s Harley-Davidson attendees, who had the opportunity to build the bikes for the program beforehand.

“We are delighted to support the school in this effort,” said Marilyn Stemp, co-founder of the Flying Piston Benefit whose charity breakfast during Daytona Bike Week, hosted by Teddy Morse’s H-D, funded the school’s program. “Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Motorcycle Safety Lawyers, and all the industry people like Rusty Wallace who stepped up to help, we’re getting more kids on bikes and growing future motorcyclists.”

Lisa Weyer, executive director of the Strider Education Foundation, expressed appreciation for the partnership with the Flying Piston Benefit, emphasizing the transformative impact of early bike riding education.

“Learning to ride a bike is a transformative experience that builds confidence, independence, and lifelong skills. At All Kids Bike, we see this as the first step in a journey that can lead to a lifelong love of two wheels—whether it’s a bicycle or a motorcycle. The Flying Piston Benefit is committed to fostering this passion, as they help inspire future riders while promoting an active and adventurous lifestyle.”

At RJ Longstreet this program will positively impact approximately 40 kindergarten students each year by teaching them how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. With a lifespan of 7-10 years for the equipment, it is estimated that up to 400 students will benefit from this initiative over the next decade.

The Flying Piston Benefit and All Kids Bike are committed to enriching the lives of young learners and cultivating valuable skills through the joy of bike riding. This collaborative effort exemplifies their dedication to building healthier, happier communities, one pedal at a time.

WHAT COULD BE NEXT

Life is wild now. If I could dream for the world it would be for peace and confidence that governments are doing the right thing for their citizens, for the infrastructure and for the future–no corrupt, third-world bullshit.

On the very positive side, the opportunities available in life right now are considerable. My granddaugher Maxine is touring Jerusalem with a tattoo group, and Kyle, Nyla’s son just scored a kids book deal.

It’s just amazing what folks can do with a little desire and effort.

One of our missions at the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum is education. We are discovering a batch of educational opportunities and supporters who want to make educational donations and get behind the efforts. The chairman of the committee, Keith Terry, asked me if I would outline the opportunities I encountered so I did. Here’s what I came up with and since then a number of folks have stepped up to help as you will see.

POTENTIAL MUSEUM EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Everything about a museum is educational, consequently every new exhibit is a new Educational Program.

Adding the Easyriders Streamliner is a major historic and educational addition.

A series of digital educational displays is currently an educational program in the works supported by the Wharf Foundation last year.

Potential Programs to be considered for the immediate future:

Museum Tours encouraged throughout the regional school districts.

Meet the Builders, a program to educate local motorcycle enthusiasts.

Website in-depth historic and educational articles archived and made available through social media.

For the 85th Plans are underway to highlight the history of the Jack Pine Gypsies and the Antique Motorcycle Club of America. We will also feature the Easyriders Streamliner and the Bonneville effort to break the World’s Land Speed Record for motorcycles.

Future Hands-On Training Programs:

Mike Parti Bonneville Experience through a donation by Tish Parti. We have an historic sidecar racer. It is already in the Bonneville record books, but it’s time for a rebuild and a return to the Salt.

I was just contacted by Britany Olsen who owns a Mike Parti Triumph. She is very excited to be involved in the above Bonneville effort.

I was also contacted by Scooter Grub and Bonneville Photographer who offered his services shooting our team in Bonneville

K.Terry and Lonnie Isam antique restoration class in the Sturgis Industrial Park.

Through the gracious donation of parts and pieces by Joe and Ellen Teresi, we could help kids learn how to build custom motorcycles from the ground up, including welding, fab work, machining, electrical and mechanics.

Kevin Baas, who has taught bike-building classes for over a decade was kind enough to give us his Chopper-Class curriculum, which is printed out and available in the museum.

Long Term:

We are currently looking at the Iron Horse Saloon to expand the Museum from 10,000 square feet to 25,000 square feet of World Class Museum.

If we were able to retain the current museum, we could turn it into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Educational/Training Facility.

The ultimate goal is to expand the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum into a World Class Facility with serious hands-on training operations.

Damn, it’s exciting to work with bikers who care.
