Hey,
This is one of those squirrely days. I’m 13 days into this hip replacement. I was active most of the day yesterday and today I’m taking it easy. We worked most of the day packing Sturgis Museum Raffle tickets in envelopes. Do me a major favor and buy your tickets to support the Museum online. Much easier.

It’s tax time and we ran into an issue to find and antique motorcycle appraiser for the Mike Parti bikes in the museum. Tish Parti resolved the issue in LA. We may need to start a go-fund-me for our leaky roof.
I will report on the save the roof effort real soon. We can’t mess around.
Let’s hit the news. I have a feeling it’s going to be massive.
The News was provided by the Bikernet Team including: Wayfarer, the Redhead, Bob T. Sam Burns, Laura, Barry Green, El Waggs, J.J. Solari, Amy White, Jenn and the rest of the crew.
The Bikernet Weekly News is sponsored in part by companies who also dig Freedom including: Cycle Source Magazine, the MRF, Iron Trader News, ChopperTown, BorntoRide.com and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum.

NEW YORK TRAINING–
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), representing 230,000 members nationwide and nearly 11,500 in New York, is calling on its members to contact the New York Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to address the critical lack of state-approved motorcycle safety training courses.
Currently, no state-approved motorcycle safety training courses are being offered in New York due to delays in awarding the training contract. This situation, ongoing for nearly two months, is unacceptable, especially during the start of riding season, when schools must set their training schedules and hire rider coaches. The absence of these programs—largely funded by the motorcycling community—threatens rider safety and the economic viability of individual training schools. Many schools face severe financial strain, with some potentially facing closure or being unable to hire instructors by the time the contract is awarded.
In 2009, when a similar issue arose, schools were permitted to operate under the previous contract and issue completion cards to the DMV once the issue was resolved. Despite repeated assurances from the DMV that a contract is forthcoming, the lack of a clear timeline and conflicting communication has created uncertainty for both riders and training providers.
We urge AMA members to contact the NY DMV and demand immediate action to restore the availability of motorcycle safety training courses. Emphasize the need for:
1. Prompt Resolution: Award the training contract without further delay.
2. Interim Solutions: Allow schools to operate and issue completion cards, as done in 2009, once the contract is finalized.
3. Clear Communication: Provide transparent updates for riders and training providers.

KRAMER MEETS TRACKSIDE–
Krämer Motorcycles USA Partners with LV8 for Trackside Workbenches– Krämer Motorcycles is excited to start the 2025 racing season with LV8 workbenches and tool storage units.
A premium workshop brand, LV8 built for Krämer bespoke workbenches and cabinets for use in our racing trailer that will be at each MotoAmerica Talent Cup round, helping us to provide trackside services to Talent Cup teams and WP Suspension users.
This partnership extends the collaboration between Krämer and LV8, as the new Krämer factory in Burghausen, Germany also features LV8 workbenches throughout its assembly floor and R&D center.
“When you walk into the Krämer factory in Germany, the first thing you will notice in our assembly area is that the room’s perimeter is entirely lined with custom-made LV8 work benches and tool chests. It is an impressive sight,” said Jensen Beeler, CEO of Krämer Motorcycles USA.
“So when it came time to get ready for the 2025 MotoAmerica Talent Cup season, we turned to our friends at LV8 to build us a similar tool storage and workspace solution for our trackside truck and trailer, and the result has been equally impressive and functional,” added Beeler.
LV8 is part of the Ferrari Sergio Metalmeccanica family of brands, and boasts over 50 years of experience in the motorcycle workshop space. Premium products with premium service, LV8’s workbenches, cabinets, lifts, and other products come fully assembled and ready for installation, after collaboration and consultation with their design specialists.
“The LV8 workbenches and shelves came fully assembled to our facility, straight from the LV8 factory in Italy. Easy to install, priced competitively, and professional grade, we couldn’t be happier with the LV8 pieces we’re using for our MotoAmerica Talent Cup program,” added Joe Karvonen, COO/Owner of Krämer Motorcycles USA.
“Anyone interested in high-quality custom solutions for their workshop should check out our workspace in our trailer, as well as the rolling workbench we have outside in our paddock space. We think you will be impressed with what you see,” finished Karvonen.

THE LATEST FROM THE SCOTT JACOB’S GALLERY IN DEADWOOD– “Rainbow Ridge”
Traci: My late husband Buck shot this in the Canyon up the hill from Deadwood. He loved photographing rocks, so I decided to release this next.

It was our employee, Lore’s idea for me to print them as a triptych and I’m so glad she thought of it!

THE CLIMATE DEBATE–
Pete Hegseth Drives the Stake Through Climate Change Driving Defense Policy
The Department of Defense is abandoning its nearly two decades-long focus on climate change as a national security issue. In a terse message to CNN, Pentagon spokesman John Ullyot said, “Climate zealotry and other woke chimeras of the Left are not part of that core mission.”
If CNN reporter Haley Britzky thought tweeting the response would get a different answer, she was quickly disabused of that notion.
This is a major change for the Department of Defense that goes back at least five administrations. For reasons I’ve never really understood, the military has been vulnerable to environazis for decades. At Fort (Braxton) Bragg, large swaths of training area were put off limits because they were allegedly the nesting grounds of the then-endangered (it had a status upgrade in December) red-cockaded woodpecker. A freakin woodpecker. An acquaintance of mine was relieved of his command because one of his troops had pasted a picture of the bird on a target on a rifle range (the 1,000-inch range), and the wrong person happened onto the scene. If you’re wondering why US Navy ships compare unfavorably to Soviet trawlers, circa 1980, in terms of rust, it is because the best paint is environmentally friendly.
The Department of Defense has been enamored of climate change since at least 2003 when Defense’s Office of Net Assessment released a report titled An Abrupt Climate Change Scenario and Its Implications for United States National Security. Go to page 18 of the pdf to look at what were considered reasonable scenarios for 2025.
If climate change is real, it will be addressed at home and abroad by agencies not called the Department of Defense. When the Defense encounters it, it will come in the form of weather and terrain; how we got there will be an academic exercise. Secretary Hegseth is right; his focus has to be on training troops, structuring forces, modernizing equipment, and building warrior spirit to win wars, something Defense has gotten out of the habit of doing over the last 41 years.
Few things are harder than turning around a failing but complacent and self-satisfied organization. That is the challenge facing Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The military services have been hollowed out through DEI and dysfunctional leadership. The industrial base is dead in the water.

FEDERAL VETERAN LEGISLATION UPDATE–What Arizona Veterans Need to Know Now
We all know that it takes time to get through the swamp that is Washington, D.C., and legislation moves very slowly through Congress. But while the gears of government grind with deliberate pace, progress does happen — and right now, several bills related to veterans’ issues have passed the U.S. House of Representatives and are awaiting Senate consideration.
For veterans in Arizona, some of these measures could have real and direct impacts, especially in the areas of housing, health, education, and small business development. Here’s a breakdown of the bills that have cleared one chamber so far, and why Arizona veterans should pay close attention.

WAIT, IT’S NOT OVER–
Life seems nuts and packed to the gills. I spent a large chunk of the day dealing with Sturgis Motorcycle Museum activities. It’s all exciting being near the epicenter of Sturgis. Here’s a shot of the Museum. It’s not a big place, but it is cool and packed with potential for the Rally, the City and the Industry.

It’s on The corner of Junction and main the busiest intersection in Sturgis. We are currently fighting a leaky roof, but next is a display custom built to show off the 26-foot historic Easyriders Streamliner.
I could go on about all the fund raising efforts, plans for the Rally, the HOF breakfast. It doesn’t end. I’m doing my best to help revive the EASYRIDERS brand. A whole bunch is happening this coming week.
I’m trying to heal and trying not to push it much, but it’s tough. I got a job babe. I’ve got work to do.
Let’s try to relax and ride free.
