Vance & Hines Announces 2023 Contingency Program Valued at Over $170,000

Santa Fe Springs CA – March 10, 2023 – Vance & Hines today announced its 2023 season contingency support programs for motorcycle racers. The contingency sponsorships, offered in partnership with five, race-sanctioning bodies, has the potential to put over $170,000 in the hands of motorcycle racers in 2023.

The program offers contingency payout funds to riders in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle, MotoAmerica King of the Baggers and Twins Cup, American Flat Track, XDA drag racing as well as the Bagger Racing League. Contingency funds are offered to riders who are top finishers in races or series championships, and who qualify by using Vance & Hines products and services. The total value of the contingency sponsorship program for 2023 is $173,250.

“Racing is the ethos of the Vance & Hines brand,” said Vance & Hines President Mike Kennedy. “These contingency programs are just one of the ways we support racers who compete using our performance products.”

In NHRA Drag Racing, racers who finish first or runner-up using a Vance & Hines four-valve Suzuki motor in each Pro Stock Motorcycle (PSM) race earn payouts, and a shot at a $10,000 bonus for winning the championship. Riders using a Vance & Hines exhaust for their Suzuki motorcycle in PSM also earn a payout for a first or runner-up finish at each event. Total potential payout for NHRA is $34,000. Vance & Hines factory race team riders are not eligible for these contingency payments.

MotoAmerica, the country’s premier motorcycle road racing series, has expanded its slate of King of the Baggers (KOTB) races to seven, double-header events and also includes Twins Cup double-header rounds at seven of their events. Vance & Hines will offer payouts to the top five finishers in each KOTB and Twins Cup race and offers a $5,000 series Championship Bonus in each class as well. Total available payout in MotoAmerica racing is $60,400.

In American Flat Track, Vance & Hines offers funds to the top ten finishers in every SuperTwins and Singles class race. In addition, a $5,000 Championship Bonus is offered in each of these classes. With 18 races on the 2023 schedule, the total potential payout in AFT is $63,100.

The Xtreme Drag Racing Association (XDA) series offers ten classes of racing at five events which run from April through September 2023. Contingency payouts are offered to the top two finishers in each class of each race for using a Vance & Hines exhaust or for head work done by the Vance & Hines Racing Development Center. Potential payout at XDA races is $7,500.

The Bagger Racing League (BRL) has six classes for a variety of production v-twin motorcycles and will host five races at three venues in 2023. Contingency payouts are offered to the top three finishers in each of the six classes for using a Vance & Hines exhaust, air intake or FP4 tuner. Potential payout at BRL races is $8,250.

Specific requirements for earning contingency payouts are managed by each sanctioning body.

Vance & Hines Launches New Limited Production Handmade 90-Degree Stainless Steel Air Intake, Inspired by Popularity of Custom, Performance Baggers

Santa Fe Springs CA – January 19, 2023 – Vance & Hines today announced the VO2 Falcon Stainless, a limited production, hand-welded, 90-degree stainless steel air intake, inspired by the handmade exhaust systems that are common on the top professional and street race bikes. The intake fits all Milwaukee 8-powered Harley-Davidson motorcycles from 117ci motors down to 107ci, except those with fairing lowers.

The VO2 Falcon Stainless is manufactured by Vance & Hines welders in Santa Fe Springs using high grade, 304 stainless steel tube and is hand TIG welded from pie-cut segments. The process yields a striking array of color and pairs perfectly with a stainless steel 2-1 exhaust system, like the Vance & Hines Hi-Output RR. The system includes a precision CNC-machined, billet aluminum winged mounting plate and an integrated breather assembly. It features the same slant-nosed, high volume oil-media air filter that is used across the VO2 Falcon Lineup.

Vance & Hines Expands New PCX Lineup with Return of the Pro Pipe and Debut of Bagger Race Replica System

Santa Fe Springs CA – Vance & Hines, which earlier this week announced its innovative new PCX (Power Chamber Exhaust) technology, is now adding two new 2-into-1 exhaust systems to their product line. The introduction includes the return of the ultra-popular Pro Pipe 2-into-1 exhaust system and a system inspired by the one used on the company’s King of the Baggers racers, a series that has inspired a new level of custom and performance in Harley-Davidson touring bikes. PCX technology ensures that these Vance & Hines systems meet all EPA emissions criteria.

Pro Pipe is a classic design that has twenty years of evolution and improvement built into its return to market. It has all the ingredients for making power: stepped headers, an oversized collector and long megaphone muffler. The new generation Pro Pipe now features the innovative PCX™ technology, which integrates a chambered high-flow catalyst in the megaphone for a bigger boost in torque and a more robust rumble of a big V-Twin motor. The placement of the catalyst deeper into the muffler moves heat away from the rider and improves rider comfort.

The Pro Pipe system fits Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eight Touring (2017-2022) and Softail (2018-2022) models, as well as late model Twin Cam Touring models (2010-2016).

The Vance & Hines Hi-Output RR exhaust system comes directly out of the development work done for the riders in the King of the Baggers class of the MotoAmerica Road Racing Championships. Constructed of high grade, 304 stainless steel, the hand TIG welded headers of the Hi-Output RR step from 1.75″ to 1.875″ to 2.0″ and feed into the same oversized collector used on the race exhaust system. The collector is even rotated to add extra ground clearance to enable steeper lean angles through the turns. Finishing off the system is the Vance & Hines mid-length 4″ Hi-Output megaphone muffler featuring the same laser-cut riveted badge as the race system. The consumer version of the system includes PCX technology using a chambered, high flow catalyst which increases torque, especially at mid-range RPMs.

The Hi-Output RR system fits Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eight Touring models (2017-2022). An optional accessory heat shield kit will also be available.

Background: The Federal Trade Commission announced a complaint on June 23, 2022, against Harley-Davidson, ordering the company to “fix warranties by removing illegal terms and recognizing the right to repair, come clean with customers, and ensure that dealers compete fairly with independent third-parties.”

Kyle Wyman Charges to Road Atlanta King of the Baggers Victory

Jesse Janisch Dominates Production Twins on Harley-Davidson XG750R at Odessa Half-Mile

MILWAUKEE, WI (April 24, 2022) – Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® factory rider Kyle Wyman scored a hard-fought win in the MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers race at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga. on Sunday. The defending series champion passed for the lead on lap three and pulled away for the win aboard a race-prepared Harley-Davidson® Road Glide® motorcycle. James Rispoli finished second on the Vance & Hines Racing Harley-Davidson Road Glide motorcycle.

“This win definitely feels good,” said Wyman following the race. “I’m so happy to do it for everyone on the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle team. They deserve it so much. They have been working day and night since Daytona to get us here and made some significant improvements to the bike that allowed me to be much more aggressive on the track today. Winning today and having James finish second has really helped us in the points chase.”

Wyman topped the field in King of the Baggers qualifying on Saturday, posting a best lap of 1:31.87, lowering the class lap record on the 2.55-mile Road Atlanta road course by 4.5 seconds. Later on Saturday, Wyman crashed during the King of the Baggers Challenge sprint race to determine pole position for the eight-lap feature, and was set to start in sixth position on the second row for Sunday’s main event.

On Sunday Wyman jumped out to third place on the opening lap and trailed pole sitter Bobby Fong and Rispoli. Fong crashed his Indian motorcycle on lap two and was out of the race. Wyman passed Rispoli for the lead on lap three and then gradually pulled away, opening a gap of 0.66 seconds by lap five and 1.24 seconds by lap seven.

Wyman crossed the finish line 1.86 seconds ahead of Rispoli, averaging more than 100 mph per lap. Tyler O’Hara was third on an Indian, 3.49 seconds behind Wyman. Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® factory team rider Travis Wyman finished in sixth place.

The Mission King of the Baggers series features race-prepared American V-Twin touring motorcycles. Harley-Davidson® Factory Team Road Glide® motorcycles are powered by race modified Screamin’ Eagle® Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight® 131 Performance Crate Engines.

After three of seven rounds on the 2022 Mission King of the Baggers series, Kyle Wyman moves from sixth to third place in the series standings, tied with his brother Travis Wyman at 41 points, 20 points out of first place. The Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® factory team returns to the track June 3-5 at the MotoAmerica Superbikes Weekend at Road America raceway in Elkhart Lake, Wis.

JANISCH STORMS TO PRODUCTION TWINS WIN ON ODESSA HALF-MILE

Vance & Hines Racing team rider Jesse Janisch rode a Harley-Davidson XG750R motorcycle to a dominating win in the Mission Production Twins main at the inaugural Progressive American Flat Track series I-70 Half-Mile on April 23 in Odessa, Missouri. Janisch started on the front row after qualifying second for the event. The semi-final rounds were cancelled due to approaching weather.

Janisch stormed into the lead at the start of the main and was never challenged, building a gap of 9.43 seconds by the end of the 22-lap race. For the 35-year-old racer from Beaver Dam, Wis., the win was sweet redemption for a disappointing 14th-place finish at the Texas Half-Mile on March 19.

After three of 17 events on the 2022 Progressive American Flat Track series Production Twins schedule Janisch is in third place with 47 points, 13 points out of first place.

The Progressive American Flat Track series is back in action for a double-header race weekend May 28-29 on the Red Mile in Lexington, Ky.

Arizona Bike Week is Next Stop on Vance & Hines’ 2022 Event Tour

Company has expanded its event list as more riders plan to hit the road this year

Santa Fe Springs CA – April 7, 2022 – Vance & Hines rally trucks roll again this week, continuing the company’s plans for an expanded slate of events in 2022. After a successful event in the sunshine and rain of Daytona Bike Week, the big rig and crews head to Arizona Bike Week, where they will set up at Westworld of Scottsdale for the four-day event.

The 2022 Vance & Hines event schedule includes the top v-twin motorcycle rallies in the country, like Sturgis, Myrtle Beach Bike Week, Biketoberfest, Bikes, Blues & BBQ and Delmarva Bike Week. These rallies provide riders the opportunity to engage directly with factory representatives to see and hear the latest in Vance & Hines performance products. What’s more, Vance & Hines partners with local Harley-Davidson dealers and v-twin specialists, J&P Cycles, for sales and installation of Vance & Hines exhaust systems, air intakes and tuners at each venue.

With the popularity of Vance & Hines mini-moto products for the Honda Grom and Monkey, Vance & Hines will also return to Barber Small Bore in June, the ultimate mini-moto festival at Barber Motorsports Park, home to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Alabama.

The expanded 2022 tour includes some new stops as well.

Capitalizing on the company’s launch of exhaust systems for popular ADV bikes, Vance & Hines will display and install exhausts at the Get On! ADV Fests in both the Mojave Desert in California and the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Vance & Hines Reveals New Sidewinder Exhaust System for Suzuki Hayabusa Drag Racers

Santa Fe Springs CA – March 31, 2022 – Vance & Hines today announced the ultimate exhaust for Suzuki Hayabusa drag racing machines, the new 4-2-1 Sidewinder Exhaust, another step forward in the partnership the company has with Suzuki Motors USA.

The new system is designed for drag race-use on Suzuki Hayabusa models from 1999 to today. Its 4 to 2 to 1 configuration is the ultimate design for peak horsepower, particularly for higher displacement or heavily modified engines, including those running nitrous set-ups, but will still provide good gains on milder set-ups as well.

The exhaust is manufactured of lightweight 304 stainless steel, so it weighs only 14 pounds, a reduction of 30 pounds from the 44-pound stock system. It includes tapered head pipes and full merge collectors for maximum performance. The system also includes features that allow it to be adapted for whatever level of performance an owner/racer is seeking. This includes oxygen sensor bungs and an optional baffle so that the pipe can be adjusted to meet a broad range of performance mods. Suggested retail price is $1799.99.

Vance & Hines Reveals FP4, Its Next Generation Engine Control Module Tuner

Upgrades include the latest Bluetooth technology, smaller size, upgraded app and tuning capability for new Harley-Davidson models

Santa Fe Springs CA – February 25, 2022 – Vance & Hines today announced the FP4, the next generation of its industry-leading engine control module (ECM) flash tuning products. The FP4 features an all-new circuit board, case, firmware and mobile app, all of which were designed and manufactured in Santa Fe Springs, California. The FP4 brings greater control and optimum performance tuning to Harley-Davidson Touring and Softail models because it’s the only app-driven tuner in the market.

“We know riders want the best setup for their Harley-Davidson, just like we do for our race bikes,” said Vance & Hines President Mike Kennedy. “Think about it, the bike’s stock ECM is set for a stock exhaust and factory air intake. When you make changes, like adding a different exhaust or air intake, you need the right tune to get the full performance potential out of your engine.”

The heart of the Vance & Hines FP4 is the ability to dial-in the motorcycle’s ECM tune to match the performance upgrades that a rider adds to their motorcycle, such as an aftermarket exhaust system and a high flow air intake. Owners of the FP4 may choose from a vast library of Vance & Hines maps created in the company’s dyno-tuning lab in California. Vance & Hines maps are model-specific and are created using actual parts on real motorcycles, not projections made from previous tests. Owners can further develop those maps with a number of customization options found in the FP4 app.

The Vance & Hines FP4 unit has a slimmer and smaller case and a longer wiring harness than its predecessor, Fuelpak FP3, allowing more options for locating the hardware on the motorcycle. It features simplified LEDs on the unit, which display the communication between the unit and the bike. The FP4 also uses the new red OBD II connector, which is now standard on 2021 and 2022 Harley-Davidson Touring and Softail models.

The Vance & Hines FP4’s smartphone app is one of the significantly upgraded features of the device. It has a new look, is easier to use and is faster than ever before. The user experience is vastly improved with a redesigned navigation bar, giving easy access to the FP4’s core tuning functions. The Live Data capability of the app includes a new gauge layout and delivers more data to the rider than any other ECM tuner on the market.

The new Performance Data feature is a data logger that allows users to go for a ride, then study the data collected from that ride. This feature also uses the built-in GPS from the rider’s phone to map out and store the ride route, allowing riders to analyze and compare the data collected to the actual road and highway situations at the time.

Support for users of the Vance & Hines FP4 takes customer service to a whole new level. Riders can use the app to directly upload their map to the FP4 customer service website to receive hands-on technical support, while speaking to a representative on the phone, email or chat. This support for owners is unheard of in the powersports industry.

Vance & Hines Reveals 2022 Flat Track Racing Team Competing in AFT Production Twins and Singles

Company Supports AFT as Presenting Sponsor of Production Twins Class and Offers over $100,000 in Contingency Sponsorship for Riders

Santa Fe Springs CA – February 9, 2022 – Vance & Hines announced today that the company will field two riders competing in American Flat Track (AFT) racing for the 2022 season. Jessie Janisch will compete in AFT’s Production Twins class aboard a Vance & Hines-built Harley-Davidson XG750R motorcycle and Brandon Kitchen will campaign a Husqvarna FC450 in AFT’s Singles class. Both riders will be supported by a technical team from the company’s Racing Development Center in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Jessie Janisch earned his spot on the Vance & Hines Team in 2021 when he rode six races on the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson XG750R and ended the season with four trips to the podium and a win in Charlotte, North Carolina. His podium finishes were on two different mile tracks, a TT and his breakthrough win in Charlotte was on a half mile, his first win on a twin-cylinder motorcycle. Janisch is a veteran rider who has raced in both twins and singles classes for the past twelve years with a reputation for success on TT tracks. Originally from West Bend, Wisconsin, Janisch will be running National Number #33 for the 2022 season.

Brandon Kitchen has been considered one of the hot young stars on the AFT Singles circuit since his debut in 2020 when he won the Indy mile on a bike borrowed from Vance & Hines. The 2018 Michigan state champion had two top five finishes in 2021 after he was set back by an injury. He ended the season finishing twelfth in AFT Singles. Kitchen will ride a Husqvarna FC450 in 2022, running National Number #80, with support from Husqvarna Motorcycles USA.

Technical support for the program comes from experienced Vance & Hines employees based at the company’s Racing Development Center.

Craig Koontz, a 12-year Vance & Hines employee who is a long-time motorcycle rider and racer, will be Flat Track Team Manager. Koontz was involved in the company’s Harley-Davidson XR1200 road racing program from its inception.

Steve Polk has a decades-long history of preparing racing motorcycle engines for flat track and motocross, with some of the sport’s top teams using his handiwork on the track. He joined Vance & Hines at the time the company began developing the XG750R for Harley-Davidson. Polk takes the role of Flat Track Crew Chief.

“We’ve got two great riders and our job is to give them motorcycles that can win,” said Koontz. “We’ve got a lot to do before heading to Florida for the start of the season, but we’ve got the team and the resources to make this a successful year for Vance & Hines.”

Vance & Hines expands its involvement in flat track racing as the presenting sponsor of AFT’s Production Twins class and has announced a contingency sponsorship program that makes over $100,000 in prize money available to AFT riders. The company has partnered with Harley-Davidson and is the only organization designated to produce the Harley-Davidson XG750R race-only motorcycle, a turnkey solution for riders wishing to compete in AFT’s Production Twins racing.

The company’s crew at races will extend their efforts beyond supporting Janisch and Kitchen, as tech staff will offer support to other riders using Vance & Hines components on their race bikes.

The 2022 AFT season kicks off in Florida with the Volusia Half Mile on Thursday March 10. AFT has eighteen races slated for this year.
