(March 5, 2023) – The iconic Daytona International Speedway played host to the world’s premier supercross racers for Round 8 of the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross Championship where Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson secured his third consecutive top-five finish. In the 250SX Class, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Chris Blose displayed an impressive come-from-behind performance to secure a season-best seventh place. When qualifying sessions began, a motivated Anderson was one of the first riders to hit the Daytona race course. The No.21 KX™450SR rider showed impressive pace while focusing his time on track to explore various lines and generate a sense of how track conditions will deteriorate throughout the day. In the final session, Anderson applied the knowledge gained from earlier in the day to secure the third fastest lap time (1:12.889) in 450SX qualifying. In 450SX Heat 2, Anderson launched out the gate running in fifth and masterfully moved up to fourth through the first rhythm section. The New Mexico-born rider continued to race forward after taking control of fourth and within two laps was challenging at the front of the field. Anderson then displayed the superior cornering ability of his KX450SR by skillfully executing an inside line pass in Turn 1 to advance into third. The No.21 rode consistent laps until a last-lap pass moved him back to fourth. Despite his best efforts to regain the position, Anderson crossed the line fourth. With expectations high, the crew journeyed into Utah with a burning motivation to finish on top, and to best the field of bikes and riders alike who would undoubtedly leave it all on the track in hopes of standing atop the podium at the conclusion of the weekend. The Flying Pig saw some huge performance gains heading into the race weekend with our 592 short travel camchest kit married to our refreshed Milwaukee Eight engine. This is our, as we like to call it, “big nasty Put your big boy pants on and get serious” camshaft offered for all Milwaukee 8 engines. Hawkins from https://www.theverge.com/ Serial 1, the electric bike company spun out of Harley-Davidson, launched its second-generation lineup of premium e-bikes — but the biggest changes will be coming to the company’s app. The updated bikes will come with a host of new software features provided by Serial 1’s new partnership with Google Cloud. The company says that Google Cloud has selected Serial 1 as its new “strategic eMobility partner,” meaning the e-bike maker will be among the first to integrate Google’s software products into its vehicles. The software-enabled e-bikes will allow owners to track their trips, collect data, and “significantly improve safety and security,” Serial 1 says. It reflects a trend in the e-bike industry to install bikes with cloud-connected software as an additional selling point. The centerpiece of the new partnership will be the Serial 1 app, in which owners can see turn-by-turn navigation, collect ride data, and control security features on their bike. Serial 1 is promising more high-tech features to come thanks to the company’s “access to Google Cloud analytics and business intelligence and integration with Google Cloud AI functionality.” Google Cloud will also ensure a stronger connection between the bike and the user’s smartphone. Most e-bikes use Bluetooth to connect to a smartphone app, but Serial 1’s bikes will use cellular and GPS technology, in addition to Bluetooth, to ensure owners can connect to their bikes even when they are not in their line of sight. It then circles back to the topic a few days later, releasing properly-sized photo galleries of the two-wheelers. The same happened with the new interpretation of the Panigale V4, shown in the last week of November in just ten or so photographs. This week though, a more comprehensive set of images were released, showing the “most significant evolutionary step” for the breed born back in 2018. The new Panigale V4 is the latest new model to be announced by the Italians in their end-of-the-year push, but by far it will probably not be the most spectacular. That’s because even if some aspects of the ride have improved significantly, not much has changed in the powertrain department. Still holding in its frame the 1,103 cm Desmosedici Stradale engine, the Panigale is now just a pinch more powerful, with the horsepower rating of the unit going up by a measly 1.5, to a total of 215.5 hp at 13,000 rpm. To be fair, the total is quite a lot, given how there are countless cars out there that don’t even come close to that. What’s more, one can squeeze an extra 12.5 hp when using the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system devised specifically for this machine. But, as said, the main changes are not in the engine department.
