Annual Motorcycle Ride for Toys for Tots to Begin October 24

by Allison Keys from https://www.krqe.com On Sunday, Oct. 24, the 17th Annual Ride for Toys for Tots will kick off the season. Toys for Tots begins collections for holiday season during motorcycle run. As a child, there is nothing quite as exciting as waking up on Christmas morning with presents under the tree. However, not every child gets to experience that feeling. The Toys for Tots campaign works to change that. Assistant Program Coordinator Paul Caputo and Maj. Mike Schroeder discuss the campaign and how it’s making a difference in the lives of local children. A program by the US Marine Corps Reserve, Toys for Tots strives to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December every year and to distribute them as Christmas gifts to children in need within the community. On Sunday, Oct. 24, the 17th Annual Ride for Toys for Tots will kick off the season at the Super Walmart located on 528 and Enchanted Hills. Registration for the motorcycle ride starts at 9 a.m. with a ride to Thunderbird Harley-Davidson at 5000 Alameda Blvd. for an afterparty. The entry fee to the event is an unwrapped gift. For more information on how to get involved with the program, visit https://toysfortots.org/. If you’d like to put a donation box for toys at your business, call Paul Caputo at 505-975-2033. by Cris Belle from https://fox8.com CLEVELAND (WJW) — Over 100 motorcycles rolled through town today to raise money and collect toys for the pediatric unit at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital. Riders arrived at the hospital around 1:30 p.m. The Community West Foundation, Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital and Rock-In-Roll City Harley-Davidson held the event. The mission of Community West Foundation is to advance the health and well-being of the community. The staff and Board of Directors are guided by the words in Matthew 25:35-40: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Many police departments were there as well to support the event: Beachwood police, Fairview Park police, Cleveland police, Bratenhal police, Cuyahoga County Sheriffs Department, Lorain County Sheriffs Department and Rocky River police. Frazier’s Harley-Davidson to host 32nd annual toy ride

by Regan Spinks from https://accesswdun.com Motorcyclists with Frazier’s Harley-Davidson in Buford will conduct their 32nd annual Toy Ride on Sunday, Dec. 6. Each year, Frazier’s Harley-Davidson collects hundreds of toys and monetary donations to benefit the Chattahoochee Baptist Association’s Christmas Hope program, which provides presents for underprivileged children. After collecting the donations, motorcyclists deliver them to the association in their annual Toy Ride. Approximately 100 motorcyclists will make the journey to deliver donated toys on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. Many riders will display the donated toys on their motorcycles during the ride. “The Toy Ride is a great way to make a difference in a child’s life this Christmas season,” Frazier’s Harley-Davidson Owner Bill Frazier said in a statement Thursday. Upon arriving at the Chattahoochee Baptist Association building on McEver Road in Gainesville, the riders join in an assembly line to bring all the toys into Santa’s Workshop. Frazier’s Harley-Davidson officials said that the Toy Ride is a great opportunity to feel the holiday spirit. “Without the help of Frazier’s Harley-Davidson, this program would not be nearly what it is today,” said Wanda Oliver of the Christmas Hope Program. “It is so exciting to see and hear all the motorcycles coming in.”

Ho Ho Harley time!

by Biker Dad, Chris Best from https://www.wkrg.com It’s Ho – Ho – Harley time! Bikers are about to give back in a big way in the next few days. The bikers are riding for Santa this weekend in support of the Salvation Army Angel Tree and the WKRG Magical Christmas Toy Drive. No matter if you are in Alabama or Florida, you can help in a big way this weekend. First, WKRG and the Biker Dad Blog have teamed up with the Caballeros Acero Riding Club for the Magical Christmas Toy Run, riding from Tillman’s Corner Saturday at 2pm to the Salvation Army Warehouse at the mall. Please come ride with us and bring a toy. Get all the info here. And if you can’t make that, the Florida ABATE Toy Run which is also in benefit of the Salvation Army is Sunday starting at Harley Davidson of Pensacola. Click here for all the info on both toy runs. Not all of the bikers out there are on the nice list as we found some crazy video of one very naughty rider. He’s only 19 take a look at the video above. This happened in London. The person riding that motorcycle at 180 miles per hour is only 1, leading police on a wild chase through the very congested city and finally coming to stop because to refuel. He just pled guilty to charges and will be sentenced in January. More info here. Veterans Day was just a few weeks ago, but for bikers, it’s always time to honor our vets. I don’t get to do this very often, so I thought I would mention it this week. The Patriot Guard Riders ride loud motorcycles but are quietly honoring or vets almost every week. This week I had the honor

LEGO Ducati Panigale V4 R Comes with Working 2-Speed Gearbox

by Daniel Patrascu from https://www.autoevolution.com We’re used to having LEGO recreate the exciting cars of past and present in plastic bricks, and at times we even enjoy some motorcycle-related releases. But until now we’ve never had a LEGO-sanctioned Ducati motorcycle. And we’re not talking about any Ducati, but the most powerful one of all time, the Panigale V4 R. With 221 hp coming from the 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine, this bike needed special attention from the world’s favorite plastic bricks maker. Enter the LEGO Technic Ducati Panigale V4 R, the toy replica of the real one. And not just any replica, but one with some working parts. This new toy, dedicated to wannabe engineers aged 10+, is the first LEGO Technic ever made to include a gearbox. And it works, too, as you can actually witness how it “activates the V4 engine” and simulates different speeds. Other working parts are the front and rear suspension that go up and down to “simulate a GP ride and feel like an official Ducati rider,” and the steering. The toy set comprises 646 bricks, most of them in the Ducati red livery, which once assembled make a bike measuring 32 cm in length, 16 cm in height and 8 cm in width. The replica features faithful recreations of the exhaust pipe, windscreen and dashboard. “Being one of the first to have built with bricks the model of an icon such as the Ducati Panigale V4 R was exciting,” said in a statement Paolo Lazzarin, General Manager of LEGO Italia. “The set perfectly captures the spirit and design of the original thereby transforming the concept of performance: pure adrenalin racing and full control. This model is the brainchild of the partnership with Ducati Design Center and I am convinced that LEGO fans

Kelley Kassay, whose son Mason passed away from a rare childhood cancer, founded the organization that collects toys for sick children. Kassay said toys for teens and babies are most needed. “Anything to entertain you when you’re in the hospital,” Kassay said. “And then for babies stuff, there are a lot of NICUs that we serve and we always have a shortage there. And children that have developmental delays also require those toys.” The donations will be delivered to area hospitals. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help sort toys on Monday, Dec. 16.
