Bandit’s Bikernet

Part 2: Trampsters Run Home

Puppy’s Off the Leash Tour by Rogue and Friends We decided that since we were in California we might as well visit some places before going home. Started by riding CA 1, or Pacific Coast Highway. We got lucky, the motorcycle event Born Free was that weekend too. It would be a shame after riding all this way if we did not get by to attend such a famous event. Puppy’s Off the Leash Tour 2022

Part 1 of a Trampster Run to CA by Rogue and Friends I received a text message from brother Berry Wardlaw at Accurate Engineering. “Do you want to go on a Trampster Run?” I replied “Yes” which got me another text. “Don’t you want to know where?” I replied, “NO, just want to know when we are leaving and are expecting to get back.” Next message “I will let you know in a couple of days.” A Trampster Ride will have a starting date and a tentative return date. It will also have a destination, but not the shortest route to it. CLICK Here to read this Photo Feature Article on Bikernet.com Riding Free for 25 years. Nonprofits agree to work together to help support common missions of teaching the next generation the values of leadership, citizenship, and freedom. COLUMBIA FALLS, Me., and ST. CHARLES, Mo. – May 13, 2022 – Yesterday, national nonprofits Wreaths Across America (WAA) and the Young Marines are proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations. The signing is to build a stronger awareness for each group’s common missions while supporting educational events throughout the nation. These events will help teach lessons of character and patriotism to the next generation. The MOU between the two groups outlines key agreements that establish a framework for cooperation between WAA and the Young Marines. This includes collaborative volunteer efforts to provide opportunities for joint community service activities that bring awareness to both groups’ missions throughout the country, and regular feature interviews on Wreaths Across America Radio. The interviews will highlight youth participants’ academic achievement, community service, good citizenship, and other attributes. “As a program whose core mission focuses on teaching the next generation the value of freedom, supporting and working with leadership groups like the Young Marines is critical to the future of this country,” said Karen Worcester, executive director, WAA. “These kids are learning not only what it means to be a productive member of society, they are learning that anyone can find a way to serve their community, and what it truly means to be an American.” “The Memorandum of Understanding solidifies the two organizations’ commitments

Bandit’s First Bike Feature in Easyriders

by Bandit with photos from the late Pete Chiodo I was working in a bike shop on Imperial Highway, US Choppers in 1970 to support going to Long Beach City College. I was into my first Shovelhead after I sold my 1969 XLCH, and perhaps my fourth bike build after the Sportster, a bent Triump 650 and a 45 trike ground up. Through Andy Hansen and Bob George I started to rebuild engines. I met Andy on the USS Maddox, DD731, which was my last duty station in the service. I started to work for Easyriders on the third issue in 1971. That puts me at about 52 years in the motorcycle industry.
