The Sturgis Buffalo Chip® is pleased to announce that the award winning Student Build Challenge™ motorcycle has won two more awards during the 25th Annual Black Hills Motorcycle Show on April 13th and 14th at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, SD. Built by a group of dedicated high school students, guided by Keith Terry of Terry Components, Randy and Nick Cramer of Dakota V-Twin, and Instructors Chad Hedderman and Bill Johnson with parts donated by world class contributors, the Student Build Challenge Legends Ride® bike is a custom work of art like no other. In a complete tear down and rebuild, the Sturgis, SD students customized a stock Road King Harley-Davidson which has now taken multiple top honors at two of the industry’s top motorcycle competitions.

The students and staff from Sturgis Brown High School began transforming the Harley- Davidson bike from a Road King to a Road Glide in January. Together, with help from many world-class sponsors, the students and staff worked tirelessly after school and on weekends, as well as over Christmas and Spring Break to complete the bike, putting in well over 377 combined staff and student man hours on the motorcycle.
