SIZZLING SUNDAY POST for July 6, 2014

Hey,

Life is so interesting. Remember, attitude is everything. I rode a magnificent motorcycle (Vintage Indian) around a couple of states for five days to an event, the Smoke Out, full of heart, soul, and fun. Operating any event involves tremendous hard work and organization, yet if you stumble, forget one individual, you’re the bad guy. But this crew works around the clock to take care of every spectator and vendor. They hand out a helpful attitude to everyone.

So, I returned to the airport in Charlotte, early to relax and wait for my US Airways flight. As I check in, the kiosk offers me an earlier flight, but after pressing the button it informs me of a $75 fee. I should have stopped right there and stayed with my original flight, but no. I thought there was some benefit (positive thinking) to the airline and me by paying, only to discover that they stuck me way in the back of the plane. So I inquired to the sullen attendant and she suggested I take a premium seat in the front of the plane for an addition charge of about $80.

I don’t know what got into me, but I went for it, only to find out it wasn’t a premium seat, but just a seat in the front of the plane. Now, get this. Boarding was delayed by a half hour, then we were delayed on the tarmac for another 45 minutes, and arrived in LA after my original flight. I put in for a refund of my additional fees and they offered me $25. Damn, I hate to fly. And the attitude at US Airways is like cheese to a rat.

It’s strange. With the proper training, more and more business experiences are very positive, but when you run into a bad one it tattoos a memory on your heart for a long time. It’s like Karma.

Let’s hit the news:

BIKERNET BAD JOKE LIBRARY OPEN ON SUNDAYS–A man goes to see the Rabbi. “Rabbi, something terrible is happening and I have to talk to you about it.”
The Rabbi asked, “What’s wrong?”

The man replied, “My wife is going to poison me.”

The Rabbi, very surprised by this, asks, “How can that be?”

The man then pleads, “I’m telling you, I’m certain she’s going to poison me. What should I do?”

The Rabbi then offers, “Tell you what. Let me talk to her, I’ll see what I can find out and I’ll let you know.”

A week later the Rabbi calls the man and says, “I spoke to your wife
on the phone for three hours. You want my advice?

The man said, “Yes” and the Rabbi replied, “Take the poison.”

I was lucky to be able to attend and welcome Dave and his million mile FXR to Hal’s back in ‘09. I’m very chagrined at the treatment Dave has received from Harley-Davidson regarding his 2012 Trike warranty issues.

Never thought I’d say this after 47 years riding Harley -Davidson Motorcycles, but I seriously considering looking at purchasing an Indian for my next new scoot in 2015. If brand loyalty doesn’t mean anything to H-D proven by Dave Zien then maybe it’s time we all reconsider on our next purchases…..

BIKERNET GUN NUT LEGISLATIVE ALERT–

Senate Democrats this week are finally realizing that liberty-loving gun owners like you are about to give them a failing grade on the Second Amendment later this fall.

So, like students the night before their essay is due, they’re slapping together a bill aimed at fooling you into thinking they care about your right to keep and bear arms.

I hope you don’t believe them. The bill is far from what it’s cracked up to be.

It’s called the “Bipartisan Sportsman Act of 2014” (S. 2363).

It’s 54-pages long and made up of table scraps of minor hunting and fishing-related bills.

But, it has very little to do with protecting your Second Amendment rights.

S. 2363 could be voted on as early as this coming Monday.

In fact, Capitol Hill experts admit this is simply an attempt for vulnerable Senate Democrats like Kay Hagan (D-NC), Mark Pryor (D-AR), Mark Begich (D-AK) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) to cast a token “pro-gun” vote so they can sell it to voters this fall.

Even some weak-kneed Republicans — like Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) — are pushing it in hopes of getting a “pro-gun” sticker and a pat on the back.

Never mind the fact they just spent more than a whole year voting against and trashing your Second Amendment rights virtually every chance they got.

I hope you aren’t fooled.

This bill is simply too little too late.

Worse, this bill is loaded with pork for Obama and his radical left-wing friends.

I’m talking about a whole section dedicated for things like “habitat restoration” for “migratory birds” and other sections disguised as conservation.

There’s even a section dealing with “polar bear conservation.”

Another part of this bill includes expanded federal funding for shooting ranges.

But as we’ve seen so often, increased federal funding comes with increased federal regulation and oversight.

The bill also talks about federal land usage, but it does not talk about reducing the federal government’s reign over your back yard or your favorite hunting grounds.

DONALD, the very section of the bill that directs the Bureau of Land Management to open up federal land to hunting, fishing, and shooting purposes, goes on to say those activities get no priority.

In other words, “nevermind” it’s not really binding.

This bill needs to be called out for what it really is . . .

. . . a cover vote. Nothing more.

Now, there is one minor section of the bill that actually helps gun owners.

It’s a section that limits the EPA from regulating ammunition under the Toxic Substances Control Act.

This is an issue that needs fixing because Obama’s EPA concocted the scheme to crack down on ammunition in the first place.

But at what cost?

If these U.S. Senators really cared about stopping the Obama administration’s back-door attacks on gun owners, they would have acted on the multitude of other pro-gun proposals and bills that have been rotting away in committee over the last year.
*** How about the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act?

This pro-gun bill would have put an end to the Obama administration’s practice of denying gun rights to our veterans returning from war. Over 175,000 of them have lost their rights so far without due process, and that number is likely to go up.
*** What about removing the “sporting purpose” test?

This pro-gun bill would have eliminated the so-called “sporting purpose” test which is being used to arbitrarily ban guns from import that Attorney General Eric Holder just doesn’t like. Senator Feinstein is trying to convince Holder and Obama to expand this sweeping gun ban without Congressional Authorization.
*** How about repealing the “Post Office Gun Ban”?

Right now there is a federal ban on carrying your concealed firearm in any post office. Senator Rand Paul offered an amendment in committee to remove this restriction. That sent Senators Begich, Pryor, Landrieu and others in to a frenzy to find a way to kill the amendment, which they did.
*** How about stopping Obama from cutting off financing for gun shops?

Right now Barack Obama is using the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to declare firearms manufacturers and dealers “high-risk” businesses. All across the country gun dealers are facing serious consequences with their banks ranging from losing their credit card processing services to having their bank accounts shut down completely.

Senator Rand Paul has proposed legislation to fix this.
NONE of these crucial pro-gun reforms are included in their half-hearted bill.

Quite frankly, gun owners like you and I could write a much better gun bill standing on our heads.

You and I both know that the Second Amendment is about more than just hunting.

While this bill leaves a lot to be desired, I’m also worried there may be a scheme in the works.

You see, just two weeks ago Harry Reid said he wanted to have another vote on gun control in the Senate. And in Washington, trick-plays are never outside of the realm of possibility.

If Harry Reid brings this bill up on Monday, they may have all of the anti-gun amendments we’ve been fighting against over the last two years waiting on stand by.

I’m talking about expanded background checks and universal gun registration.

And I don’t want to be caught off-guard.

Please take a moment to contact your U.S. Senators right now:

*** Sen. Barbara Boxer — (202) 224-3553
*** Sen. Dianne Feinstein — (202) 224-3841
Urge them to OPPOSE any anti-gun amendments to S. 2363.

Also, let them know this half-hearted attempt to appease gun owners is no substitute for real meaningful pro-gun reforms.

Please act today.

For Freedom,

Dudley Brown
Executive Vice President

NEW BIKERNET AUSSIE CLUB REPORT–
Although the man did as a joke, police didn’t think it was funny, but maybe that’s the joke.

Guy Albon, 30, is a “Pastafarian,” or a practitioner of the satirical religious movement Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

So when he went to have his firearms license photo taken he wore a spaghetti colander on his head as part of his religious garb.

When local law enforcement found out they confiscated his guns and ordered him to see a psychiatrist, Australian media reports.

“The law stipulates you can have something on your head… but you have to have your entire face uncovered and if the headgear is being worn it has to have some religious significance,” Albon said. “I thought, ‘I’ve got this one in the bag’… it was an absolute scream.”

While Albon said he was in compliance with local laws, two uniformed officers appeared at his home and seized two rifles and two handguns, saying they’d return the firearms once a psychiatrist deemed he was safe to have weapons.

Albon later passed his psychological evaluation, but police said he had to retake the photo without the colander.

Albon said his involvement in the Pastafarian movement is mostly for kicks, but is also meant to demonstrate Australia’s religious freedoms.
In the coming months, Albon has to renew his driver’s license, and he said he’ll be wearing his colander for that photo too.

“What are they gonna do, come and take my car off me?” Albon said.

YES NOT ALL THE NEWS IS ABOUT BAD COPS. IT JUST SEEMS THAT THERE IS MORE BAD COP NEWS THAN GOOD COP NEWS–

HILLSBOROUGH DEPUTIES REUNITE IRAQ VET WITH HIS STOLEN MOTORCYCLE– TAMPA — When the Iraq War veteran realized his customized motorcycle was stolen from outside his apartment last month, he wasn’t sure what to feel.

“I came outside and stood at the door,” Paul Rivera said. “I didn’t know whether to be angry or sad. My first reaction was to call the police.”

After a Hillsborough County sheriff’s detective spotted the stolen motorcycle and the agency arrested two people Thursday, deputies and the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club returned the bike to him Friday.

Rivera, 27, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, served in Iraq in 2008 and 2009. He bought the bike in 2011 after returning from an Army peacekeeping mission to Egypt. Worth $10,000, it’s the most expensive thing he owns, he said.

“I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel,” Rivera said outside his apartment east of Tampa. “I’m grateful the people who did this are off the street.”

One day last month, someone had followed Rivera to his Bonita Vista Way home and stolen his customized 2005 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle after he parked it in front of his apartment.

On Thursday, a detective spotted the stolen motorcycle being driven near Falkenburg Road and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and called for assistance. The detective followed the motorcycle until it pulled into the driveway at 9513 Six Mile Creek Road, which is east of the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Deputies with a police dog quickly surrounded the home.

Two residents came out, including one the detective had spotted on the motorcycle. Deputies searched the house after getting a warrant. They said they found drugs, three weapons and $20,000 in cash inside the home.

Nathan Bowyer, 24, was arrested on charges of grand theft of a motorcycle, petty theft, violating probation, trafficking in stolen property and delivery of a controlled substance.

The second resident, Cindy Dormany, 36, faces charges of armed trafficking of methamphetamines, possession of Xanax, hydrocodone, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Both were being held in jail without bail.

Rivera inspected the recovered motorcycle after it was brought off a flatbed truck. The orange-and-red paint job and stickers were gone, replaced by black paint.

“It looks mechanically sound. It’s not much to look at, though,” he said. “It took years to build and a week to make it look like this.”

The Nam Knights will fix Rivera’s bike, which will mostly need cosmetic work, said Todd Harr, president of the group’s Westside Chapter. “We’re helping our own,” he said, adding the club knows how much a motorcycle can mean. “We understand that kind of bond.”

Rivera learned how to ride a motorcycle in the Army, he said.

“I love cars, but nothing really compares to being on a motorcycle,” he said. “Riding it is one of the only true moments to be by yourself.”

INDIAN 4TH OF JULY THURSDAY NEWS FOR JULY 3

http://www.bikernet.com/pages/story_detail.aspx?id=11769

Read the article on the I.O.M.C. First of all let me say this, I don’t always agree with your staff and their views however, I couldn’t agree more with them on this one!!! I won’t mention what club I’m associated with or the level of association I have, just that I am associated with a very old and well respected club.

That being said, anyone associated with a REAL M.C. will tell you that cops have no business in M.C.s. I understand they have their L.E.M.C.s and honestly, I think those are bullshit too!! Cops have the opinion that all of us who have anything to do with M.C.s are criminals, dirt bags and basically the scum of the earth. Which brings me to my next point: If we as club members/associates are such terrible, undesirable people why do they try so hard to be a part of our world????

In the past I’ve been asked why I live the life I do. The answer is simple: an outlaw is an outlaw no matter what crowd he runs with, you may not like or agree with his ways, but he is what he presents himself as and he doesn’t hide who he is or what he does! The same cannot be said for cops.

OFFICIAL BIKERNET PHILOSOPHER DISCUSSES HEALTH–

To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear. –Buddha

I have noticed a lot of my conversations with friends lately have been about our health issues lately. I remember when we used to talk about partying, bikes, making money and what we were going to do. Now it is about our knees, blood pressure, backs or who is sick.

This morning I have decided to quit talking about my problems and start concentrating my efforts on being healthy. I believe there are many things we can do to stay healthy. Eating better, exercise, meditating, moderation, and most importantly quick talking about our health problems.

Not in every case but in many cases health is a choice. We don’t need that extra desert. We could walk instead of watching TV. Don’t look for the closest parking spot, or don’t have that cigarette or drink. I also believe that Karma responds to our dominate thoughts and conversations. If we focus on ailments then they become an issue. We have within us Perfect Health. Let’s tap into that resource to overcome the challenges of birthdays.

Today I get rid of my stinkin’ thinkin’. I no longer look at birthdays as a decline in health. I now tap into a vast Source of Great Health and do the things to keep me healthy and active. I have a choice be part of the problem or be the solution. I choose Health. Each day that I remain on this planet is a gift and I am Grateful for It. I am Grateful for all the years I have had so far and I plan to have many more. I refuse to get caught up in conversations that don’t support my Highest Good and I Like this choice. Today is going to be a Great One. My Mind is clear and my body is Healthy

CHINA’S DOG DAY FESTIVAL– The Yulin Dog Meat Festival, which takes place in China every year during the summer solstice, is a gruesome event where residents eat the meat from stray dogs.

This year’s festival went on as planned, despite many animal rights activists taking to the streets to protest the cruel and inhumane event. It is estimated that 10,000 dogs are killed every year to supply the Chinese dog meat trade.

DIRECT FROM THE ENABLERS’ FILES–
I bought a bird feeder. I hung
It on my back porch and filled
It with seed. What a beauty of
A bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed.

Within a week we had hundreds of birds
Taking advantage of the
Continuous flow of free and
Easily accessible food.
But then the birds started
Building nests in the boards
Of the patio, above the table,
And next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was
Everywhere: on the patio tile,
The chairs, the table ..
Everywhere!

Then some of the birds
Turned mean. They would
Dive bomb me and try to
Peck me even though I had
Fed them out of my own
Pocket.

And others birds were
Boisterous and loud. They
Sat on the feeder and
Squawked and screamed at
All hours of the day and night
And demanded that I fill it
When it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn’t even
Sit on my own back porch
Anymore. So I took down the
Bird feeder and in three days
The birds were gone. I cleaned
Up their mess and took down
The many nests they had built
All over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like
It used to be …… Quiet, serene….
And no one demanding their
Rights to a free meal.

Now let’s see……
Our government gives out
Free food, subsidized housing,
Free medical care and free
Education, and allows anyone
Born here to be an automatic
Citizen.

Then the illegal’s came by the
Tens of thousands. Suddenly
Our taxes went up to pay for
Free services; small apartments
Are housing 5 families; you
Have to wait 6 hours to be seen
By an emergency room doctor;
Your child’s second grade class is
Behind other schools because
Over half the class doesn’t speak
English.

Corn Flakes now come in a
Bilingual box; I have to
‘press one ‘ to hear my bank
Talk to me in English, and
People waving flags other
Than ðoursð are
Squawking and screaming
In the streets, demanding
More rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe
it’s time for the government
To take down the bird feeder.

If you agree, pass it on; if not,
Just continue cleaning up the poop!

LETS PAUSE FOR A RELIGIOUS MOMENT– It was the day AFTER Christmas at a church in San Francisco. The pastor of the church was looking at the manger scene, when he noticed that the baby Jesus figure was missing from the cradle. He immediately turned and went outside and saw a little boy with a red wagon walking down the street.

And in the wagon, was the figure of the infant Jesus. So he walked up to the boy and said, “Son, where did you get that little baby Jesus that’s in your wagon?”

The little boy replied, “I got him from the church.”

“And why did you take him?” asked the pastor.

The little boy replied, “Well, about a week before Christmas, I prayed and I told Jesus if he would bring me a red wagon for Christmas, I would give him a ride in it!”

J&P CYCLES carries the 5-Ball Racing Leathers line—5-Ball Racing Leathers is excited to announce that they have been selected by J&P Cycles and will be available online and in their Daytona and Iowa stores. The entire line of 5 Ball Racing Leathers will be available through the Powersports retailer.

The 5 Ball Racing Leathers brand is an internal start up of Keith “Bandit” Ball of Bikernet and Bob Kay of Biker Pros. Ball assembled a core apparel team including Andrew Calogero of Crank and Stroker and Bob Kay of Biker Pros. Calogero is the operations and sales arm and Kay provides design expertise relying his 30 years in the chopper industry.

They collaborated to create a line of Genuine Riding Leathers ™; which allows the rider to get the most out of his gear and to use his apparel as an extension of his or herself.

For example, the Special Ops Club Jacket is an ideal light weight milled buffalo leather coat that will keep the rider warm in the early morning. Once the day warms up, it converts into a 12 pocket Special Ops Vest through zip-off removable sleeves.

“The 5 Ball Racing team is excited to be working with J&P Cycles and we look to collaborate with them for years to come,” explained Keith Ball, Bikernet President. “Our leather jackets, vests and shirts are ideal for J&P Cycles customers whether they are riding a cruiser, sport bike or chopper.”

The line, designed for motorcycle riders, offers plenty of storage, protection and comes equipped with one or two gun pockets, depending on the style. Both Kay and Ball have over 50 years of riding experience between them and they know what riders need and want. They have integrated their very best ideas into the line.

QUEENSLAND BIKIE laws –
minor victory– Opponents of the Newman Government’s draconian anti-biker/anti-association laws have scored a minor victory, but those associated with the Yandina Five are preparing for a long wait until the laws will be challenged.

The High Court will hear a constitutional challenge on September 2, but Mike Smith, whose son Steven was one of the five men arrested in Yandina under the laws last December, expects the State Government to stall the hearing.

“I think they’ll avoid the ultimate confrontation in the High Court because if (Premier Campbell Newman) loses he will admit defeat and he won’t want that going into an election,” Mr Smith said.

The appeal is being made by Hells Angels member Stefan Kuczborski, representing the United Motorcycle Council of Queensland, who declared earlier this year the legislation was unjust and invalid.

The matter has been set for September 2, but Mr Smith expects the government to stall until after the state election next year.

Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie said Mr Smith’s claims were unfounded and that the government would not interfere.

“These claims are completely untrue and unfounded,” he said.

“The High Court is an independent judicial body, independent from the Queensland Government.

“Matters relating to court listings are a matter for the court.”

The laws, which ban “declared” motorcycle club members gathering in public or at clubhouses, were introduced last year after a brawl involving 30 people on the Gold Coast.

Police Minister Jack Dempsey told media last November that the laws were aimed at cracking down on violence and drug trafficking.

“We want to make sure the Sunshine Coast remains a safe place and we can take away these parasites who prey on the most vulnerable people and bring drugs and violence to the streets,” Dempsey said.

But Mr Smith, a former Rebels member, said the laws made it impossible for him and his two sons, who are allegedly deemed to be associated with illegal clubs, to participate in normal family activities.

“I can’t stand on the front lawn of my house with my two sons,” he said. “We can’t go to a church together.”

Aspects of the legislation being challenged include extended prison terms for bikers, bans on members of declared criminal organisations meeting in public and solitary confinement for jailed club members.

QUICK, LET’S RIDE—I always have a list for even the weekends. I don’t fine myself if all the elements aren’t accomplished, and often add additional check lists to the original as the weekend explodes.

One item wasn’t touched, the CV carb tech, but I’ll attempt to get to it this afternoon. I’ve discovered a side line approach to hanging my winged wheel art on the front of the building and it could happen today, if the gods of metal sculpture are with me through this process. We will see, and so will you. The question of the day is, “Should I go for it, or wait.”

Since it’s the season of motorcycle events, we have events flying at us from Washington State, the SmokeOut, Hollister, Morgan Hill, House of Thunder H-D, you name it. Hang on for next week.

I try to take a couple of spiritual moments out on Sunday. It’s a good thing. Sure, my list is full of fun and projects, but it’s important to take an hour or two and ride to the top of a mountain and reflect on something other than redheads, whiskey, and chrome. Read about mediation and mindfulness. It’s good for you, Karma, God, Jesus, and your soul.

When you return from the mountain, church, or a temple, let’s kick ass into the next week.

Ride Free Forever,
