Hey,
Today’s going to be interesting, but let me recount the last couple of days. I know a madman, Chris Hill, Chris Chrome, Bad As Hell. We was stopped on his way to the Bikernet Headquarters. He was riding a stock Road Glide with old ford taillights in the bags and the stock taillight on the fender. The cop gave him shit about the bag lights. That got me thinking.

My Shovel has one sidemounted taillight, ’59 Cadillac job hidden behind the frame rail. I’ve been concerned about it, ever since I mounted it, then stood back and turned it on. Shit. I looked cool from the side, but the rest was toast. I tried little Pro One bullets on the fender rail, but they vibrated, burnt out, spun, you name it. So finally yesterday, after posting the glide detail tech (Bad as Hell) and the Crypt bike, I started digging around for another solution. Check it out.

Today after the post we’re rolling over a few blocks to Shamrocks Seafood for a Bikernet PanAmericana get together. We’ll have the ’53 Lincoln on the spot, the Sturgis Shovel, and a handful of other bikes and vintage cars. The food is terrific and it should be a blast. It’s at 120 G Street in Wilmington, California. The food is terrific and it’s a cool beer joint.

An interesting aspect includes the Hispanic population of Wilmington, which is 90 percent. This PanAmericana race is a legend in Mexico that people, all over the country, grow up with. Come on down, if you’re in the neighborhood. Let’s hit the news:

Thought you might like to see one of the winning bikes from Louisville. It was 2nd place in the Old School Chopper Bobber class. The bike is mine and was built by Pyrotec Kustom Cycles in Alton, IL (www.PyroKustoms.com). The builders have also been trying to giveaway a paint job on you site (to a visitor) for a while. Maybe this example will help persuade you.

Two blondes are sitting in StarBucks. One looks at the newspaper and sees the headline, “12 Brazillian Soldiers Killed In Conflict”.
She then looks to the other blonde and asks, “How many is a Brazillian?”

SANTIAGO CHOPPER, headquartered in Gibsonton, Florida, is constantly developing new models. One of the latest projects to go forward to production is a trike kit based on a 1939 Ford. The conversion can be applied to any Softail, from 1984 up to current models.
The kit consists of all the major assemblies including the swingarm and a rear axle and differential unit manufactured exclusively for the conversion. The caliper and rotors for the disc brake assemblies are sourced from Brembo. There is a pair of 15 x 9 wheels, said to give an excellent ride with 265/50 x 15 tires.
The fiberglass bodywork is supplied unpainted and the kit is packaged complete with all instructions and the necessary assembly hardware. A deep-seat rigid version of the trike is also available.
Santiago Chopper is soon to be quoted in the Kelley Blue Book. It has now been recognized as a manufacturer and can issue titles for the bikes it supplies. A new company, Santiago Chopper Distribution, has been established to handle the distribution of the products and is looking to appoint dealers. Premises have recently been established in Melbourne, Australia, to meet the growing demand from the Australasian continent.
The parent company continues to offer its custom building services for both trikes and single track projects.

I miss ya man, how are things? I just went to your site and saw the bike. Looks cool and I’ll bet it’ll look cooler as the miles get on it. I’m still practicing my writing by posting on various boards. I wrote a poem about midgets on the FUCK choppers and punk rock board the other day. I really liked…
O’ yay little person
Omen of the good luck
Diminutive human named Chuck.
Across the earth you do waddle
Minion enforcer for the Marquis De Sadel
The men admire you
The chics secretly dig you
They wonder in their dark places
OOmpa LOOmpa.
Little shave-ed muscle monkey in their beds
Visions of ecstacy humping their heads
You’ll dig your little feet into their armpits.
Most of us are big on the outside and small within
and though you’re not perfect or devoid of sin
You set an example for the world we live in
Stand tall as the giants fall
You are the Governor
You are the “Sarge”
OH! To be so large, absolutely “Charles in Charge”
FUCK that “Chochi” motherfucker.

Tim was concerned about the reaction to the above poem, but I thought is was cool, balanced and well written, so I’m running it. Let me know your thoughts.–Bandit

A guy is in the checkout line at a local super market when he notices that the gorgeous blonde behind him has just waived hello and smiled at him……
He is rather taken back that such a looker would be waving to him, and although familiar he can’t place where he might know her from, so he says “I’m sorry, do you know me?”
She replies “I may be mistaken, but I thought you might be the father of one of my children!”
He panics and his mind shoots back to the one and only time he has been unfaithful…..
“Oh Shit” he says, “You’re not that stripper from my bachelor party that I banged on the pool table in front of all my cheering friends while your girlfriend whipped me with a riding crop and stuck a cucumber up my a**?”
“No” she replies hesitatingly, “I’m your son’s English teacher.” But its nice seeing you again.

Many years ago, (last century) I started bracket racing a jockey shift 1951 bowleg rigid with a stock stroke 1947 knuckle – 14.6 / 93 mph. Rather than risk blowing up a rare stock case matching number 74″ knuckle engine, I stuck a 1960 case big bearing 86″ pan in the bike.
The bowleg black rigid is complete, running and I currently drag race every chance I get – best time 13.0’s at 103 mph. The original knuckle engine was homeless. And now I’ve just bought a basket case straight leg rigid without a motor. The red straight leg will be the new home for my old 47 knuckle engine.

At the end of the day I’ll have two rigids, the black bowleg 86″ pan and a red straight leg 74″ knuckle. When I fall off my perch I’ll leave behind two righteous rigids for my two sons. How many kids these days can say their first ever highway experience was on the back of a jockey shifted knuckle or that their dad used to pick them up from Alligator Creek School on a rigid pan?
My pan and knuckle aren’t for sale but there are all sorts of harleys for sale Down Under that are probably very cheap by US standards. A while back there were a couple of pans advertised. One a completely restored 1965 pan was advertised for $15,000 AUD which is around $12,000 US. A good friend recently bought a beautiful delkron case shovel for $8500 AUD.

BATON ROUGE, LA. The White House announced today that President Bush has successfully sold the state of Louisiana back to the French at more than double its original selling price of $11,250,000.
“This is a bold step forward for America,” said Bush. “And America will be stronger and better as a result. I stand here today in unity with French Prime Minister Jack Sharaq, who was so kind to accept my offer of Louisiana in exchange for 25 million dollars cash.”
The state, ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, will cost hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild.
“Jack understands full well that this one’s a fixer upper,” said Bush. “He and the French people are quite prepared to pump out all that water, and make Louisiana a decent place to live again. And they?ve got a lot of work to do. But Jack?s assured me, if it’s not right, they’re going to fix it.”
The money gained from ‘The Louisiana Refund’ is expected to be immediately pumped into the rebuilding of Iraq.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., (September 17, 2005) -Adam Swalls of Little Rock, Ark., isn’t a superhero, but he undoubtedly felt like one after Victory Motorcycles named him the winner of its Victory Challenge Sweepstakes, a “Fantastic Four” inspired motorcycle giveaway that took place at dealerships nationwide this summer. Swalls’ big-screen fantasy will become reality when he is awarded a Victory Vegas motorcycle similar to the one Chris Evans’ character, Johnny Storm, a.k.a. “Human Torch,” rode in this summer’s blockbuster film, “Fantastic Four.”
“I’ve been thinking about buying a motorcycle for quite awhile, but now I’m a proud Victory owner, payment free,” said Swalls. “I’m not planning on attempting any movie stunts, but I can’t wait to get my bike on the open road.”
“This year has been very exciting for Victory with record sales, industry recognition and the excitement of being part of ‘Fantastic Four,'” said Mark Blackwell, general manager, Victory Motorcycles. “In addition, through the Victory Challenge we were able to raise money for a great cause and showcase our award-winning bikes, which have proven to be a hit both on screen and off.”
Riders from across the country took part in the Victory Challenge by test riding Victory motorcycles at their local dealership. Swalls will pick up his prize at American Outdoors located in Hot Springs, Ark.
Each person who test rode a Victory between April and July 2005 received a free “Fantastic Four” t-shirt and a chance to win a Victory Vegas motorcycle. In addition, Victory Motorcycles donated $1 for each test ride to Kyle Petty’s Victory Junction Gang Camp. The Victory Challenge raised a total of $20,000 for the camp in 2005.

Bethel, CT -TP Engineering is proud to introduce their new patented Pro Vent (circle R) Rocker Boxes. These are the very same rocker boxes found on every new Big Dog Motorcycle and used by top custom bike builders worldwide like Paul Yaffe, Russell Mitchell, Dave Perewitz, Donnie Smith, Jerry Covington, Coast to Coast Choppers and many others.
CNC-Machined from 6061 billet aluminum, TP’s two-piece rocker box is innovative in design and function. Tom Pirone, President and “Head Design Engineer” for all of TP’s products stated, “Functionally, we’ve reengineered the way oil separates from the air and air flows out from the engine. The end result: easier air movement separates the air from the oil more efficiently and nearly eliminates oil carryover into the air filter.” Basically, TP’s patented design eliminates oil carry-over and features an exclusive breathing system for a quieter, better performing engine.
“These rocker boxes also have a sleek appearance and will compliment any top end. They look incredible, but perform even better”, concluded Duke Wainright, Vice President of TP Engineering. TP’s Pro Vent Rocker Box stanchions are machined integrally into the rocker box for added strength, and not as a separate piece. Additional benefits include: The two-piece wedge design allows far easier access to internal parts for service and maintenance. Extra wall thickness reduces noise and adds stability, reliability.
All TP Pro Vent Rocker Boxes are chromed to a show quality mirror finish and are available on all TP Pro-Series? engines (114″, 121″ and 124″) and are also sold separately. Pro-Vent rocker boxes will fit Evolution?, Big Twin?, Sportster?, and Twin Cam engines. Each kit includes rocker shafts and all necessary hardware for easy installation.
TP Engineering has won more industry awards in recent years than any other engine manufacturer due to their engineering and design excellence. They are also the only engine manufacturer that makes all of their own parts, cases and internal components? They are totally self contained! For further info on all of TP’s “award winning” products, please call 866-873-6446 or email them at info@tpeng.com. To see the latest from TP Engineering, visit http://www.tpengineering.com.

Opelika, AL September 15, 2005 – The Crypt Custom Cycles of Opelika, AL is proud to offer their new anatomically correct, solid titanium frame skeleton custom motorcycle and accessories. These new bikes will feature a skeleton that is a structural component of the frame. The Crypt’s John Farr stated, “The skeleton is the top half of the frame. It isn’t bolted on or there for decoration. Its backbone is the frame’s backbone. The leg bones are the frame’s legs.” The use of titanium in the frame’s construction allows for great strength and low weight.
The frame can be built to customer specs within the confines of the skeleton, and is currently offered only as a rigid. The skeleton bikes can be set up for just about any drive train configuration and tire size. Here’s a pic of my friend Peter Arthur’s pan. I saw an add in the paper for the pan $14,000 and went up to Airlie to look at the bike with Pete. He said if I didn’t buy it he would. Long story short he now owns the show winning 96-inch Softail pan.

Raleigh, NC: The Samson/Ray Price Nitro Harley team is very pleased with the performance of rookie rider, Tommy Grimes. Grimes is already posted in the 9th spot on the AHDRA Screamin’ Eagle Top Fuel Harley field and waiting for the next official changes to advance closer to the top five.
Grimes, ever improving, placed well at both Woodburn, OR at the Team Latus Motors Northwest Nationals and St. Louis at the Surdyke Mid-West Nationals. As Grimes under Price’s ever watchful eye makes rounds and quicker ET’s and faster mph, Price is confident he made the right decision to place Grimes on undoubtedly the most powerful Nitro Harley in the field.
“As Grimes gets the feel of our bike, we look for great things . Jeremy Hoy, crew chief and Justin Heinle, engine builder, are anxious to step up the program, but we need for Grimes to be ready for the increase in power. Running with the field and often better is what we’d expected for this season. We are pleased to have earned our spot to make the NHRA exhibition at Rt. 66 in Joliet, Illinois, Sept. 29th – Oct 2nd” according to Price.
Grimes said, “I’m pleased to be with the Samson/Ray Price Nitro Harley team. Ray’s done everything possible to make sure I feel comfortable on the bike. I could not have joined better team. Jeremy and Justin help me not only with the tuning and preparation of the bike but the mental development as well.”
“I’d like to take an opportunity to thank my family and Greg Dorsett for all the support they’ve given me, too. When I’m on the road, Stephanie calls between rounds to let me know how the points are going and Greg is my right hand man at T & L Automotive, Inc. Without that home support I’d never be able to focus on the job at the track.”
“Focus” could be the team’s mantra for the rest of the reason. As the team prepares for the home stretch:
Sept 29-Oct 2 NHRA Exhibition -Rt. 66 Joliet, IL
Oct . 15-16 Screamin’ Eagle Perf. Parts Natls Rockingham, NC
Nov 12-13 JIMS Las Vegas Nationals Las Vegas, NV
Nov 14 AHDRA Awards Banquet Las Vegas, NV
The Samson/Ray Price Nitro Harley team proudly thanks their sponsors: Samson Exhaust, Ray Price Harley-Davidson, Raleigh H. O. Finally got the old shovel running and ride able this summer. Not happy with the pipes yet. Gonna make a set later on that will look and perform better. Was shooting for this month, that way, it would be totally ready for Balls, if he likes it enough to shoot it. Here’s a few shots for you.
1 shows the new look of the oil tank and the extended wing to blend in part we talked about. Took it to the Smoke-out. Got a few compliments, even though it has a swing arm.
And, yeh, I like acorns on some bikes, Tell me what you think.

JIMS EFFORT PAYS OFF–
A special fundraiser program, spearheaded by JIMS and AHDRA, was announced at the 2004 JIMS Nationals to benefit Jim McClure’s medical fund and D.R.A.W (Drag Racing Association for Women). Jim McClure was a 19 time world champion in AHDRA racing, and a true friend to all who knew him.
The program dubbed the “6 second cause” included a $50 donation from contributing companies for every 6-second pass in elimination’s. The companies included JIMS, Screamin Eagle, Rivera/Primo Products, S&S Cycle, Performance Machine, G- Squared Motor Sports, Red Line Oil, Vanson Leathers, F & S Motorcycle Sales, Southside Harley-Davidson and Hampton Roads Harley-Davidson.

JIMS would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the participating sponsors as well as the spectacular fan and racer participation. Jim McClure… we miss you, and look forward to meeting you at the big end of the track! If you wish to contribute more to the cause, you can send your donations to, JIMS: Please make checks payable to DRAW (Attn: Jim McClure Fund.)

I’ve got a site with some tech stuff on it. It’s all pretty generic stuff and mostly concerned with frame fabrication but it seems fairly popular. Maybe you could take a look and say something rude about it?
http://www.thefont.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/bikes/index.htm
There’s also some photos of crap that I’ve nailed together for various people.
Some months EVERY UK custom bike mag carries a tech article that I’ve written. OK, there’s only two of ’em but EVERY sounds better than BOTH!

FISH TACO TIME–No not the girls, but Shamrocks Seafood this afternoon, 1 p.m.-4. We’ll be there. It’s actually a Mexican Seafood Joint and the salsa’s fine.
Speaking of women, last night was a scramble. Girls on girls were getting together. I was going to hit strip joints and all plans went to hell. We drowned our sorrows in Gold Cadillac Margaritas and salsa. A brother wrote about his wife leaving him for horses and I could feel the pain in his words. It never ends, but we love it and them, so we can’t give up the hunt.
Okay, that’s it. Next week I’ll ride new Saxon Models and report in. We’ll also have a road test coming on a Victory model. I’ll also post info on New Harley’s. Hang on. In the meantime it’s margarita time.
Let’s Ride.
