Harley-Davidson is presenting sponsor of AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Legends recognition for Mert Lawwill

  Harley-Davidson, whose motorcycles helped write the history of American dirt-track racing, will be the presenting sponsor of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame's Legends recognition for Mert Lawwill. Lawwill, a 1998 inductee, will be honored at the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nev.  Each year during the induction ceremony for the new class of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, existing members of the Hall of Fame are recognized as Legends. Honda Wants car-to-car Networks To Include Motorcycles Too

 We’ve been hearing a lot about car-to-car communication, both here in the U.S. and in Europe, that would allow vehicles to “talk” to each other to avoid crashes. Anyone who has ever ridden a motorcycle in traffic knows that one of the biggest hazards is car and truck drivers not seeing bikes. So Honda wants include motorcycles in the car-to-car conversation. At the 19th ITS World Congress in Vienna last week, Honda demonstrated connectivity for motorcycles that could allow bikes to communicate with cars and new active safety technology to make riding safer. Honda has been a member of Europe’s Car2Car Communication Consortium since 2006 and for years has worked on integrating motorcycles into the mix of connected vehicles. Continue reading

The American Motorcyclist Association Urges Riders to 'Vote Like a Motorcyclist'

  With the Nov. 6 General Election just around the corner, the American Motorcyclist Association is reminding motorcyclists to research where candidates stand on motorcycle-related issues and "Vote Like a Motorcyclist."  The AMA is a non-partisan organization and doesn't make political endorsements. But the national association encourages riders to cast their ballots based on candidates' positions on motorcycling-related issues as well as other issues of importance to them.  The AMA provides tools to help its members make informed choices on Election Day and offers tips for getting involved in campaigns.  AMA members can easily find out where candidates stand on motorcycling-related issues by reading the 2012 AMA Voter Guide.
