HISTORIC PORTERVILLE ATTACK ON BIKERNET

It has become something of lore, something to talk about, something that still today is remembered by many. It was the day the Hells Angels came to Porterville.   But, it is not that the Hells Angels converged on the town of only 8,000 residents at the time. It is that Porterville stood up to the notorious motorcycle riders and ran them out of town. Some 50 years later, a Labor Day Anniversary.

Protection Against Speeding Tickets

Rogue Tech Article on the Escort SHIFTER ZR4 One of the things I do as a motorcyclist is install products, test and evaluate them.  Sometimes I even get to suggest changes to make them work better.  In many cases I then write articles about them.  Sounds like fun huh!  Well, actually I do enjoy that part of my life, but there is a lot more to it.  In the case of performance products, testing it includes exceeding the speed limit.  I do that when conditions allow.  An example would be running on the Interstate at or slightly above the posted speed limit and then accelerating to go by a slower vehicle.   CLICK TO READ MORE

Bikernet Under Attack

A blog recently attacked Bikernet, accusing us of stealing content and not having the audience this blog has. We never steal content or even search for content. Most news content is supplied by our readers or folks in the industry. We always give the source credit unless they choose to be anonymous. But first and foremost, we don't demand exclusivity.  Bandit is a cheap bastard when it comes to trophies. He made this Editor's Choice Trophy with a 5-Ball. Regarding audience size. That's a strange topic, and over the years, we have seen dubious statistics. Right now, we are using Google Analytics and Stat Counter for our numbers. We don't pay for numbers, rankings, or e-mail lists. We just do our thing ...

Senior Still Riding At 95

For the last 85 years, Steven Janicki of Roseville has been sailing down the highway of life on two wheels. At age 10, he began riding motorcycles on his family’s in Bridgewater, N.Y. and as he approaches his 96th birthday, he still enjoys the thrill of the ride. “Someone gave my brother an Indian Motorcycle,” he said. “One of the two cylinders was shot. He took that bad cylinder off and made it in to a one-cylinder and that’s what we rode around the farm.
