Motorcycle license bill passes Legislature In Alabama

Alabamians will need to have a motorcycle classification on their license, and take a written exam or safety course, under a bill that has passed the state Legislature. ā€œIt will make sure that those who are riding motorcycles are qualified and know enough about motorcycle safety,ā€ said Rep. Phillip Pettus, R-Greenhill. Alabama is the only state that doesnā€™t require a specific motorcycle license.   Pettusā€™ House Bill 212 now goes to the governor for his signature.Ā Currently, only motorcyclists age 14 and 15 have to take a written test and get the M classification.
