MANY THINGS BIKERNET WEEKLY NEWS for May 3, 2018

Hey, The news is packed with motorcycle action and amazing thought-provoking info. You would think Iā€™d scramble out of bed and grab a cup of Joe only to find two news items, but it never happens. I collect news items starting Sunday afternoon, immediately after the Banditā€™s Cantina Sunday Post. And before I know it news is flying at me like shrapnel from grenades. Itā€™s fast and hot. This week is no different. No wonder, there are multiple outlets for motorcycle news. Itā€™s a lot of hard work 52 times a year and my keyboard is covered with sweat and grease. Road Test ā€” The Magnificent Vanderhall Venice

We recently had the stellar opportunity to test ride or drive the new Vanderhall, Venice Trike. We couldnā€™t wait, since the styling appealed to our classic sports car sensibilitiesā€”old school Austin Healy or MG. Iā€™ve been intrigued by the trike market for the last ten years. A Motorcycle Inside Your Next Ford Vehicle?

Ford recently filed for a patent that features a motorcycle integrated into what looks to be a Focus or Escort wagon. The company is calling it a "multimodal transportation apparatus," sort of like what Honda did back in the '80s with the integrated Motocompo foldable two-wheeler. Unlike the Motocompo, Ford's bike emerges from the front of the car, a la the Batmobile, to ride to whatever location comes next. Of course, just because Ford filed for a patent doesn't mean this is happening. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office publishes all applications 18 months after submission. The patent notes that the motorcycle is "equipped with, and can be autonomously driven, by an electric motor." And it will be fixed securely ...
